Golden Bay Heights - Luxury Accommodation

The lodging is beautiful, clean, new and (mostly) comfortable (but see below) with a great view.

We stayed in the middle of winter and there is NO HEAT except for a single wood burning stove in the living room which provides no warmth to the bedrooms. Also, accessing the property is quite difficult. First there's a 1 mile dirt road which is not bad, but then you have to climb a very steep 1/3 mile long dirt "driveway" barely wide enough for a small car. The driveway was wet from rain and we had problems with traction in our RAV4. You really would benefit from a 4x4 at this property.

The view and property are incredible.

Super nice place to stay. Peaceful, with all amenities provided. Amazing view from the deck where you can watch the sunrise and sunset with bell birds chirping in the background. Feels very serene and luxurious at the same time. Beautiful backyard with lime and other fruit trees. The owners (Mark and Tracey) were also amazing, super friendly, and kind. The fresh snappers offered to us were the cherry on top of our trip! 😍

Nothing really. The only thing that we needed but couldn't find was an air fryer. But this is very minor thing to add. Just thought it would be handy to have the air fryer so we don't need to fire up the massive oven for small portion of meal. Will definitely come back again in the future!

Very nice house and view

Wauw, wat een prachtig huis! Meteen bij aankomst al spijt dat we hier niet langer verblijven. Het uitzicht is waanzinnig, de accommodatie is heel comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien. De enórme keuken heeft letterlijk alles wat je je maar wensen kan, echt een droom. Minimaal 2 nachten verblijven, maar liever veel langer! Ook genoeg te doen in de omgeving.

Everything. A stunning property with an awesome view. Beautifully appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds and lounge with a huge TV. The fireplace kept it warm and snug inside. Could not stop looking at the views of the bay from the huge windows all around the rooms. A bonus to look out and see the stars at night from the main bedroom. It was nice to meet Mark and Tracey who made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this place and would stay longer next time.

The main bedroom bed is very uncomfortable. Me and my wife's back hurt the next morning.

We loved the view! The ice maker in the fridge was a hit with the teenager. The fire place was warm and cosy. The shower was a 10/10. The beds were so comfy. And the fully stocked kitchen was a dream to cook in.

Great well equipped house in stunning location,

The place is beautiful, clean, well groomed, and offers everything you need for a perfect vacation. The view is breathtaking! The place is somewhat isolated, so it’s mostly you, the birds and nature. Our dog had plenty of space to roam around, and the owners were very nice. Just perfect!

To get to the property you need to drive through a short, steep ride up the hill (on gravel), which may be challenging for some vehicles. The fire alarm went off randomly 3 times during the night, which was a bit annoying, but the owner was super nice about it and promised to check it out. Also, the place can use some curtains, especially in the bedrooms 😉

Tracey was a fantastic host, the property was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. View is stunning too

The location offered spectacular views of an inlet of Golden Bay from a hill site. You could see out to Farewell Spit. A pair of binoculars were provided. The house had a lovely outdoor deck to sit on and take in the views. The house was modern, tidy and clean. The beds were comfortable. There were blankets should you require them and plenty of towels. The kitchen had a marvellous 5 hob gas and oven was large. Plenty of kitchen equipment made preparing and cooking a dream. The house had a fire.

Maybe a mirror in each bedroom?
