Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Host,Karen was excellent with communication with us. Response was first class and she helped me find a dentist The premises were spotless, and the shower washroom very modern. Generally the premises were boutique style and there is a splash pool attached to the patio. Animals came close and some feed was provided. There were able to purchase all our needs at local stores Wifi is free and unlimited and worked very well No problem with check in and out
The roads are a disaster to drive a normal vehicle on. Not Karen's problem but a 4x4 would have been better. My wife would have preferred an oven but not a train smash Tv is streaming but no regular channels. Has Netflix and YouTube. We are not Netflix orientated. So missed my sport, but then it is a nature game reserve

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und bestens ausgestattet. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Den ganzen Tag über schauten verschiedene Tiere vor der Terrasse vorbei, die wir aus dem Pool heraus beobachten konnten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Excellent Location and All round accomodation. Very comfortable and has everything you need and could ask for. The host, Karen was very friendly as well. The highlight for my family was the resident Kudu who came to say Hi every morning and afternoon.
Everything is perfect, would only recommend a outside dustbin of some sort.

Die Wege zur Unterkunft sind sehr holprig, sodass man langsam fahren muss. Das ist aber ein Problem im ganzen Marloth Park und nicht speziell für diese Unterkunft.

Reviewed May 3, 2026The location of the Buffalo Thorn Villa was superb as it was central to the surrounding shops, restaurants and gates to the Kruger National Park. The kitchen was fully kitted which made the stay more comfortable. We lived on the stoep with the braai and pool. Karen was very helpful and responsive. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay.
The walk-in shower tends to flood a little bit but laying down towels did help.

It was peaceful, private, and incredibly comfortable. We made such beautiful memories here and would return in a heartbeat. Reviewed Nov 11, 2025We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad. De communicatie met Karen verliep erg goed en ze reageerde snel op alles. Ze is erg vriendelijk, gastvrij en behulpzaam. Het verblijf is mooi ingericht en van alles voorzien, je komt niets te kort. Via Karen kun je ook je safari’s boeken. De night drive with Bush braai is echt een aanrader! Verder hebben we genoten van de dieren die rond het verblijf liepen, erg bijzonder! Het zwembad was een aangename temperatuur en de mogelijkheid om gebruik te maken van de baai is top. Er is een slager en een supermarkt dichtbij waar je alles kunt halen. Kortom we raden dit verblijf zeker aan!

Reviewed Jul 10, 2025Marloth Park and Kruger Park - life changing experiences! Buffalo Thorn Villa is perfect accommodation. Relax in a/c comfort with a modern, very clean, comfortable air bnb. (Their photos are exactly as shown) Karen & Gerhard are the perfect hosts. Available on WhatsApp reply within minutes. We were only here 4 nites but we could have stayed here days longer. The hosts gave us all the necessary info on Marloth. Even food pellets to feed the endless animals who stop by the pool here, all day every day! Gerhard put out some grass/hay bale and we had zebra, kudu, impala and warthogs each day! What a special place. Walk or drive to the “fence” overlooking Kruger’s crocodile river. Just a 2 minute drive from the Villa. But really impressed by the hosts, even insisting on greeting us way past a normal check in time. Do yourself a favor, stay with Karen & Gerhard @ Buffalo Thorn Villa!

Loved how stable the wifi was, air conditioning worked really well and the kitchen was perfect to prep any meal. Being able to watch the animals roam around whilst we soaked in the pool was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend.
