It’s in the beach
No drinking water in the hotel room but offered tea & coffee in room. All facilities were closed, had to treck to neighbouring hotel for food drinks ect. Was the only guest in the hotel which was unsettling.
It was right on the beach very clean and spacious
Nothing
Service by staff was very poor
Well located and reasonably priced
A bit like a motel so just a room.
The location was optimal and the staff was very accommodating
The restaurant wasn't open for breakfast but there was a place next door that sufficed.
The Basil is very nice, located right on the waterfront with direct access to the water (sand beach is a few min away or you can go down the water from the promenade). The room was comfortable, the mattress was of good quality. The staff allowed us to have a late check in to accomodate our afternoon flight. The restaurant had very good shrimp pasta and the athmosphere of the prestaurant was nice too, with plants and flowers.
some mosquitoes greeted us during our first night but we got a bug spray so this was sorted (would still like to have a bed mosquito net available)
Everything was great. The location for us was perfect as we were being picked up to go sailing from the dock about 50 yds away.
The room was spacious and the bed and the pillows were fine. The A/C and the minifridge worked. Behind the hotel is a nice view of the bay and it's only a few minutes to the Paradise Beach.
The location has nothing around except the beach nearby. The reception staff were not there very much to help either. The room had coffee, creamer, and sugar packets, but no kettle to make hot water. So, when I asked the reception staff the next day, she said, "Oh, you want a kettle?" How else am I going to make hot water? Then she brought me a kettle. The TV in the room didn't work, and when I looked for the reception staff, I realized the reception was closed on Good Friday and the room was not cleaned that day either! When I checked out, I was told that they forgot to give me a second remote to turn the TV on and change channels. I asked the reception staff for some information on sightseeing, and they said they would contact the tourism bureau the next day and let me know, but they never did. So, I went online and figured out things on my own. The adjacent hotel was lively, and there were a lot of guests at the restaurant, but I hardly saw anyone at the restaurant in this hotel. Finally, because of the loud traffic noise at all hours of the night, I couldn't get a decent night's sleep. If I had known all this, I would've paid a few dollars more and stayed at the adjacent hotel!
Great staff
Small Hotel, 20 minutes from the airport. Connected to the beach with a board walk just a 5 minute walk. Staff are lovely - couldn’t have been more welcoming. Food was great.
Nice staff, quiet, fridge in the room
Too quiet in the restaurant/bar, lots of noise from the road
Such a great welcome from our host Brandon and his team who did everything possible to make our stay on this beautiful island memorable. Jason made us some lovely breakfasts, it was a challenge to accommodate both a vegan and a vegetarian. Our two rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless. The location close to Indian Bay Beach was near perfect and our various taxi drivers knew the shortcuts into Kingstown to avoid heavy traffic. This may not be the most luxurious venue on St Vincent but you won't find a more authentic island welcome than at Basil's.
No complaints.
Lovely location overlooking Young Island. Large comfortable room, good showers, good air-con. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice covered veranda bar/outdoor dining area.
Pretty noisy at night at weekend. This is not the hotel's fault, but there is a late night bar very close by, which pounds out music until 4am on weekends.
Everything
Clean room great staff good wifi.
Walking distance from several restaurants if you don't feeling like eating on-site. Walk out the back gate you've reached the sea. Walk out the front gate and you're on the main road with easily accessible public transport going in both directions. Room was well lit, spacious and well laid out with ample storage. Bathroom was clean and not too small with hot and cold and good water pressure. The air-conditioning worked well. Tea station with kettle was a nice touch. Desk in room was great for setting up work station and the WiFi connectivity was very good. Big comfortable bed and nice towels were provided. As a female travelling alone I felt very safe here. the staff was helpful and welcoming. Thank you Mr Wilfred 😀
A little more information about things to do and see could be made available. I asked about assistance with arranging tours and the lady was not helpful nor did she seem knowledgeable.
The staffs , manager , the waiters were very welcoming . The food was very good . Me and my husband was there from Friday to Tuesday .The room was very clean I will definitely come back
I had an amazing one night stay at Basel at Villa and it was one of the more affordable beach front locations. It has a rustic charm and is, right on the beachfront with stunning views of Young Island. While there’s no direct beach right in front, it’s just a short walk along the boardwalk to reach lovely beach areas. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we were so kindly given a free room upgrade. The bathroom was clean, and we enjoyed a lovely side balcony with ocean views. There is an on-site restaurant. The entire place was very scenic and welcoming. The host was very kind and made us feel welcomed. We had all the amenities we needed in the room, like a mini-fridge, TV, and coffee, tea supplies, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Highly recommended for its convenient location.
A great place to stay right on the water. Super comfortable beds, clean and well taken care of room and overall hotel. The restaurant was great too. Best Conch fritters that I have ever eaten. Friendly and attentive staff. I'll definitely stay here again.
I arrived around 8 pm with a very warm welcome Many Thanks to the friendly staffs!! Dinner in the restaurant was delicious .. Not to mention the Cocktails. Very calm area about 100 meters from the beach.
All went fine!
We really loved the view and the sunset from the room, it was amazing! the host Wilfred was extermely kind and upgraded our room and helped with all the questions we had.

I absolutely love the location! This is my second time staying at Basil, and I can already tell it won't be my last. The place is always clean, and the staff is unbelievably friendly and professional. Honestly, I have no complaints at all!
Wish there were a microwave in the rooms!
The employees and owner were amazing and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The sheets and towels were very soft and comfortable and we slept so well. Make sure to try the signature omelet for breakfast ❤️
I would love to see them expand so there are more people staying there, but it is lovely as it is too.
I liked the close proximity to the beach and other restaurants and bars
Online booking price didn't match the price when I got there.i paid more
I didn’t have breakfast
Everything was fine
Great staff. The supervisor, receptionists and bar tender were very welcoming.
Construction next door started very early and the gardener outside at 6:20 cutting grass.
It was comfortable and very clean. It had all the amenities I needed.
Everything was great!
Love the friendly and easy relaxed atmosphere
Honestly i can't think of anything i didn't like
Food, drinks and staff were excellent. Good location, easy to catch local transportation, nightlife and restaurants near by. Towels were of superb quality. Great view and easy access to have dinner across the way on another small island. Staff was also accommodating upon request and friendly.
Bed was made daily but sheets were never changed. Floor felt like it was never cleaned in the four days as well. Big balcony but could be utilized better other than 2 chairs. Maybe a small table between the two chairs to have a coffee or tea and enjoy the view. A hammock or lounge chairs would even be appreciated.
The room was a good size, comfortable and clean and everything worked. The staff were extremely friendly but also efficient. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent.
Two small suggestions: 1. Consider providing insect spray or perhaps mosquito coils in the room as we had some bother from mosquitoes. 2. It would be useful to have a waste bin in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.
Spacious clean room, exceptionally comfortable bed good bathroom. Breakfast good, they can cook fried eggs properly! Staff all friendly. Some noise from next door property music talking etc. didn’t go on too late. Only stayed one night as I was in transit. Will definitely do so again. One note of caution if there is a large cruise ship in and you want to get to the ferry dock allow at least quadruple time to get there.
Lovely stay on the waterfront in Villa. Nice clean room, with good quality towels and bedlinen as well as a small fridge. Lovely omelette for breakfast. Very short walking distance to a few other bars and restaurants. No proper beach, but easy to get in the water from a strech of sand at the neighbouring property and from the jetty.
No opinion. Just a one-night stopover.
No opinion. Just a one-night stopover.
Very friendly personel. Hotel located in beautiful area - closeby to the ocean, with own pier and several restaurants just outside. Also - you need to ask Wilfred (the hotel's manager) for his fameous omlet. The best omlet i've ever had! I really hope to get back there.
Treated like royalty - literally (ask Wilfred!) Rum Sours second to none. Will certainly come back!
Nothing
Good location, we had omelett for breakfast and that was great :) comfortable bed and pillows. Great staff! Overall a perfekt one night stay for us!
I was late to breakfast on my first morning. The very gracious Manager, Wilfred readily offered to make me breakfast. Not only did he make breakfast, i was treated his bespoke butler services. The entire experience was absolutely delightful. ful with the shaded outdoor garden setting and magnificent views of the water made it even more amazing. Much kudos to Wilfred and his team especially the sweet young lady who willingly took my photos.
An in-room guide for guests detailing breakfast times etc. Also directions on how to access TV channels etc and accurate wifi information.
I enjoyed every aspect of my stay! It's the perfect location for beach lovers like me. The food was delicious, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I will definitely return and also highly recommend staying at Basil!
I didn't mind a microwave in the room.
It was EXTREMELY clean and comfortable, and very spacious. The bed was really comfy, and the towels were so soft! We loved that the staff let us hang around all day the next day, working from the restaurant area, as we had a late flight - the fish burgers were delicious! WiFi was also great. And the staff were really friendly.
Unfortunately there is a bar next door that play loud music in the night so it can be a bit annoying when trying to sleep. Nothing to do with this property though as everything else was great. Just Recommend bringing ear plugs!
A perfect location for our brief stay en-route to the ferry. Great value for money and in a lovely waterfront location. Wilfred was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him before our departure.
The hotel has a nice and familiar atmosphere and is situated in an area were other hotels and bars are. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
Nothing
mosquitos
Nice comfy big bed. Lovely bathroom.
No breakfast available. No tea coffee in room, no water in fridge.
It was clean and comfortable, and was well priced. Decent bar area by the water.
It was very basic, but to be fair it was as expected and on par with surrounding hotels.
Great hospitality complete with bar and restaurant. Food was excellent!
Wonderful overnight stay at Basil at Villa, manager was very welcoming as were all the staff. Despite arriving quite late, we enjoyed a lovely meal at the venue. The rooms had air conditioning which was great and Netflixw as available on the TV. Wifi was good connection in the rooms
They need to have fridges in the rooms.
breakfast was very good and the location was ideal for the tennis tournament that I participated in
Had no complains
The hotel is in a prime location just facing Young Island, with wonderful views on every side of the garden / restaurant, direct access to the sea broadwalk. Everything is new, in fact I believe the hotel is altogether new. The room (Junior Suite) is quite spacey, when I arrived everything was in pristine condition: super clean sheets, linen, towels, floors. The closet is big, with lots of drawers, there is a large desk that can double as dining table, with lots of drawers as well, the mattress is comfy, as well as the pillows, I slept super well. The bathroom is nice, large enough, the water pressure in the shower is fantastic, I enjoyed the showers there with a window (that can get opened to let the steam out) overlooking some palm trees in the graden. The A/C works pretty well, there is a tiny fridge with an even tinier freezer, but enough to get some ice (you get the plastic ice cube thingies or molds inside). You get two bottles of cold water (in the fridge) when you arrived, they are like a lifesaver. I stayed at the Junior Suite with a balcony (highly recommended), where you can spend nice long hours watching sunset or relaxing in the mornings. The restaurant has fairly good options for breakfast and lunch/dinner, not many options, but good ones, the bar has lots of drinks to offer. Prices are a bit on the high end for local standards, but quite reasonable considering you are eating at a veranda surrounded by gardens in front of the sea, and the food is good. I had a nice Thai curry twice, mild in spiciness, but with the right mix of ingredients, a winner.
It is challenging to understand the restaurant working hours, especially for breakfast ... My next complaint has to do with the standard of service, it is not a minor issue. The hotel is new, most of the staff work hard, are friendly and informative. The cleaner is also friendly, but in general they lack training. I had two problems: (i) my room not was cleaned for two days, because I left late. There is a lack of standards and training of the personnel, that is somewhat easy to sort out; (ii) the second problem was a bit more serious, and offensive to me. I went down to the restaurant for dinner, took a menu from the bar, and someone came yelling at me very loud and aggressively asking me to get out of the bar. Last night the bar tender asked me to take the menu from there to check what I wanted to order, so I had no idea that was forbidden. When I asked the guy why was he yelling at me, he said I was not supposed to be in the bar, that it is off limits, that I was not allowed to touch anything there. He was aggressive, angry and at some point I actually feared he would attack me. I was in total disadvantage, his colleague was also a bit scared, and did not react, he went on drying his cups, but there was no supervisor to report him, there is never a supervisor in the hotel. I told him that you need to go across the bar to get into the veranda, he said (still yelling) that I could walk across the bar, but not touch anything. He pointed to a table and said "sit there, and I will bring you the menu", it was like a military command. He was terribly rude. He came back to give me the menu, he was considerably more calm, and explained me (yet again but in a nicer tone) not to get into the bar again. But he never apologized, and I didn't feel confident enough to ask for an apology, as I said I was in total disadvantage. No CCTV or any accountability.
The restaurant service was excellent. The food was first class
The reception did not arrive until very late both mornings I was there. Also it wasn't clear what is the number to dial for reception.
The facility itself was good. It's a in a great location. The room was pretty good. The room was kept well. The workers were friendly and helpful.
I was disappointed that there weren't an iron or kettle in the room because the accommodations didn't come with breakfast. I had to asked for a kettle. I had to ask for utensils like a glass, cup and spoon to make some tea.
Spacious and clean. Great location and easy to find. We loved how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. Loved how the bathroom was located in the room. Would definitely stay here again.
The only thing was that we Would have loved to have a kettle to make a cup of tea in the morning.
Considering huThe staff at Basil at Villa exceeded all my expectations and then some. They were so attentive and so helpful to my every need. The manager went above and beyond to ensure we were always safe and well. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff was AMAZING. We stayed there during carnival so there was a lot going on in our rooms and they always managed to put it back together. A small Fridge was much needed for our room, but we always went to the bar for ice and one of the members of the staff often went and got bags of ice for us. Thank you so much for a wonderful time and see you soon!
The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very updated. And the veiws were breath taking.
More furniture in the room like a couch or a lodge area by the television. The room was big enough for it.
Quiet relaxing hotel. Pleasant staff. Quick service each breakfast time. Excellent customer care from staff and special thanks to their very experienced manager Wilfred Joseph for his service.
At the moment there is no swimming pool at the hotel.
Maybe because of occupancy, but the availability for use of the bar and/or restaurant were limited (could have been better). Nevertheless, the location is ideally placed with many other opportunity for late night bars and restaurant. we will return,
Breakfast and night bar services dead. as if such services were not existed. However all was not lost, as there are many activities from the number of popular bars and restaurants in very close walking distance,
Excellent staff, friendly and providing a lot of useful information.
I didn’t find the shower gel. The is no regular TV, you need only to connect at different platform.
My room was very clean. Towels were new and soft. The air conditioning was great, quiet with a very low air flow that kept you cool without freezing you. Boardwalk leads to Villa Beach. Enjoyed the grilled lobster.
TV did not have any subscriptions such as Amazon or Red Box or FreeVee so was pretty much limited to news.
