Reviewed Aug 26, 2026This is a beautiful house built in the tropical modernism style popularised by Geoffrey Bawa. The garden is a haven for monkeys and birds and hold a wide array of trees and plants. The owners were so charming....especially Oshadi. The caretaker/ cook was also so nice and helpful. They have two adorable cats and a visiting cat. We were thrilled as we love cats 🐈 😻
The bathroom was not super clean initially when we checked in. For example there was mould on the seat of the toilet. This was however promptly addressed by the owner and it was cleaned to a good standard.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Oshadi und ihr Mann und Haushälter haben uns eine sehr herzliche Ankunft in Colombo gemacht. Die Villa liegt zwar etwas abseits, aber wir wollten bewusst am ersten Stopp nicht im Trubel von Colombo bleiben. Die Villa ist mit viel Liebe fürs Detail ausgestattet und wir wurden auch spät abends nach anstrengender Anreise noch mit Snacks versorgt.

Het huis is in koloniale stijl en gebouwd door een architect die zich heeft laten inspireren door de wereldbekende sri lankaanse architect George Bawa. Het is prachtig. De tuin en het zwembad geven je een echt eiland gevoel. De inrichting is combinatie van Europees en koloniaal, prachtig. Heerlijk ontbijt en heel warm ontvangen. Wij raden deze locatie aan! Op de route van Colombo naar Ahangama, perfecte eerste tussenstop!

I wanted somewhere quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of city life but perhaps this was a little remote for a family with mobility issues. However, the hosts were fantastic, most accommodating, they helped us around which resulting in a wonderful meal in a nearby restaurant.

Reviewed Apr 5, 2026Es ist ein authentisches, kleines Paradies in mitten eines Wohngebietes. Die Gastgeber sind so herzlich und ich habe mich vom ersten Augenblick sehr heimisch gefühlt. Sie haben mich zum Amt begleitet, da ich mein Visa verlängern musste und Papa hat ganz wundervoll für mich gekocht. Mama Oshi hat sich sehr um mein Wohlbefinden gekümmert. Danke Oshi, du bleibst stets in meinem Herzen. Einfach eine ganz herzliche Familie, die den Gast als König behandelt. Danke für die schönen 4 Tage, ich komme aufjedenfall wieder.
Es gibt nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026The decor inside is really beautiful, the couple that run it are really sweet and friendly. I came here to extend my visa, so if you need to do that it is in the perfect spot to do so because the office is only a ten minute drive away. I highly recommend!!

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026Everything was just right in this beautiful villa. The decoration is stunning! Every little detail is perfect and just adds to an even more pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious and very clean and the “staff” were warm and helpful. I got some good tips on shops to visit. The breakfast was delicious and the pool looked beautiful. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to try it. I’ll come back and stay longer next time.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2025Absolutely everything was impeccable! The owners were kind, friendly, and extra flexible, allowing us a late checkout which was much appreciated. We honestly didn't want to leave and this will definitely be our go to place when we return to Colombo next. The owner Oshadi has an incredible talent for interior and exterior design and the beautiful setting alone is reason enough to stay here. Every inch of the place has been attended to with impeccable taste. The caretaker was also extremely helpful and we had a very comfortable stay here.
