We loved the view , room was very clean and had a cozy interior. The Owner made sure everything was provided perfectly. 2 lovely dogs and the cat pedro were lovely. Great breakfast. Will definately visit again.

!) only parking space for 2 bikes 2) The steps going up to accom is STEEP and very VERY smooth. Yep, after rain as I was walking down with my gear, I did the cartoon guy slipping on banana skin, up in the air and down on my back. Bloody dangerous. There is a bit of a handrail, but when you're carrying yr gear down. Need treads on steps. 3) You can see the joins in the front door so there's no noise dampening.

A beautiful guest house the rooms has a view over the paddy fields the staff was very welcoming and The food was really delicious ! Bonus it’s just 900m from town a 20min walking distance!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Sri Lanka. From the moment I arrived, the owner made me feel very welcome like a family — such a kind and caring person!!! This is i share from my hear. HE NOT JUSY A OWNER HE IS PERSON WHO LOVE WHAT HE DO AND HE DO WITH ALL HIM HEART!!! The way the owner and staff care for people i could give them all star!!! They are passionate what they do and they love them guest. He also has two very cute dogs that made the experience even more special. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. I felt very safe and well taken care of during my entire stay at hotel have many activities i was joined to the cooking classes and also if i need go some where they always help me with anything i need. The location is perfect — only about 5 minutes from the most popular turtle beach , with beautiful natural surroundings. You can relax and even hear the birds, which makes the atmosphere very peaceful or swimming at the pool and take a sun. The hotel has everything you need, and the overall experience was excellent. This is honestly one of the best hotels I have ever visited, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Wish you all the best and i will be back again...

The owner Dilip was so lovely, very helpful and fun to chat to. The views were absolutely incredible overlooking the fields, with a beautiful swimming pool to cool off. There were 2 dogs which were lovely to have around as well as a cat. Staff were all so friendly and accomodating and even put on an impromptu cooking class for us. The breakfasts were also incredible!!! Such an amazing stay!

Unfortunately no wifi was the only downside especially because it didn’t work in the room.

This is such a lovely place to stay if you want a little get away that’s calm and peaceful. We spent most of the days reading by the pool. However they helped us organise a scooter so we can easily get in and out of town which is maybe 1km away. But I think you could get uber or pick me easily if you needed. The pool was super nice during the day and the room was clean, tidy and cute with great AC. The breakfast was amazing, they make fresh every morning and it was always something different. The hosts are top tier and always willing to help and asking if we need anything. There is a lovely restaurant Truly which is just around the corner so we ate there for lunch and dinner. It was nice to just have some chill days by the pool and they also have a cute cat and two fluffy friendly puppies.

a very relaxing area surrounded by nature. perfect if you’re looking for an escape from a very hectic life. simple and authentic which we really liked. we were able to catch the sunrise everyday from our balcony which was amazing as well. our hosts were very helpful and hospitable.

i wouldn’t call it a problem but we weren’t aware that they cut water every night so make sure to do your duty calls beforehand 😂

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cet établissement et nous aurions pu prolonger les yeux fermés si nous n’avions pas du poursuivre notre trip. Le guest est très sympathiques, il nous a fait plusieurs recommandation sur ce qui était à voir aux alentours. La chambre est pratique et décoré avec beaucoup de goût, on s’y est senti très bien. L’établissement n’est pas si loin du bord de mer ;) accessible très rapidement en Tuktuk. Le petit dej est copieux et très bon Je recommande vivement

One feed in my room and it felt like home. Beautiful room quiet, fan and AC. Balcony with nice view. A beautiful style and decoration the room had. Friendly owner who made a fish and the best salade dressing ever.

It is not far from the sea. At daytime i walked down and in the evening i took a tuktuk.

Sin duda alguna de los mejores hoteles que hemos estado en calidad/ precio. Las habitaciones son amplias, super nuevas.limpias y coj un balcón con vistas a la jungla. El comedor de arriba tiens uas vistas imprecionantes , el desayuno hecho cob mucho cariño. Un 10 de 10!!

El aire acondicionado funciona bien y la cama era muy cómoda.

Nuestro baño olía muy mal por las cañerías, el desagüe no tragaba bien. Hubo problemas con el agua y la electricidad por la zona en la que nos alojábamos (no es culpa del hostal como tal). Cogimos la habitación por la piscina y fue decepcionante al ver lo turbia que estaba (no limpia) y que dejaban a los perros bañarse dentro. El desayuno estaba bien pero comparado con el resto de sitios que nos alojamos en Sri Lanka fue muy poca cantidad (también querían cobrarnos el café a parte).

Hotel ligt op in ontzettend mooie locatie met prachtig uitzicht. Het is een kwartier lopen naar het strand, maar goed te doen. Ontbijt is heerlijk & vriendelijke eigenaar. Het was even puzzelen met de douche: de warm en koud stand staan andersom dan wij gewend zijn. Toen we dit gevraagd hadden was het de beste douche tot nu toe!

Sehr schön gelegene und ansprechend eingerichtete Unterkunft. Toller Pool der täglich gereinigt wird. Sehr schöner Balkon auf dessen Bank ich viel verweilt bin. Das Frühstück ist super lecker und es wird sich jeden Tag was Neues ausgedacht 😃 Die Zimmer sind sauber!😊 Der Betreiber ist hilfsbereit und hat mir direkt beim ankommen Aloe Vera für meine Sonnenbrand angeboten. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb, doch genau danach hab ich gesucht um einen ruhigen Ort zu haben.

Die Zimmer könnten ein bisschen größer sein und die Frühstücksportion morgends auch. Hab allerdings auch nicht nach einem Nachschlag gefragt, den hätte ich dann vielleicht bekommen.😊

La chambre était très petite et quand nous avons voulu nous doucher il n’y avait pas d’eau (je pense qu’ils ont coupé l’eau). Cher pour ce que c’est; ça ne vaut pas le prix demandé.

The view from the rooftop is very nice overlooking the fields. The rooms are modern with a good size balcony. The owners are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The traditional breakfast was fantastic.

The water system kept cutting out at this property while I was there. No soap was provided to wash hands in the bathroom.

The place looks completely different from the photos, it doesn’t reflect reality. We were not satisfied.

the location it’s well sited away from the hectic main strip but only 15 mins walk down to the beach (and easy to get a tuktuk via pickme too). the building itself is thoughtfully designed and unique and the private balconies are lovely to watch nature and the sunrise. the meals are freshly prepared, varied and delicious

unfortunately we really didn’t feel at ease here, the host seemed immediately uninterested in us when we declined for him to arrange our tuktuk tours/guides. we didn’t really receive a proper check in or tour. there are no yoga classes here as advertised and when I asked he said he would arrange them ‘with another guest’ but this never happened. the wifi didn’t work our entire stay and only works on the rooftop. outside food/drinks are apparently not allowed in the restaurant area but we were never offered any drinks at dinner time. finally we arrived with some mild tummy upset however on leaving here we had new very severe symptoms and it seems this isn’t uncommon - we’d had two breakfasts and dinner here and were using the tap water to brush our teeth (which we’ve had no problem with before). the family in the room next to us were also unwell during our stay and many reviews mention similar. perhaps there’s some kind of contamination or the water used to make our breakfast juice is not bottled? (we were never told where to get clean water despite me asking over whatsapp and we went out to buy our own)

Die Jungs von der Unterkunft waren sehr bemüht und freundlich, frühstück war gut und das Zimmer sehr sauber und mit einem tollen Ausblick. Auch das Bett war super groß und auf der Terrasse hat man einen tollen Ausblick

Leider war der Pool etwas trüb aber das Personal ist bereits dabei dieses Problem zu beheben. WLAN ging nur oben auf der Terasse

Wir haben 3 Nächte geplant und konnten, gott sei Dank, verlängern. Der Ort ist perfekt zum abschalten und um zu sich zu finden, dennoch kann man auf kurzen Weg direkt zum Strand. Nach einer 5 Tage Tour, war es wir nach Hause kommen. Jeden Morgen gab es ein gesundes Frühstück. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

The hotel was beautiful, and mor importantly Dilip the host was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Sorting our late night airport shuttle upon arrival and even helping us after we'd left when we needed him. For our first trip in Sri Lanka we felt very welcome and supported. The room was lovely in a fairly basic way, but the rooftop restaurant was magical. A beautiful place to watch the local wildlife. The breakfast was different every day, and always large quantities. A great taste of Sri Lankan quisine but also options for toast and jams.

Dilip is an exceptional host and is very accommodative of any requests that you may have. He also cooks amazing breakfast. 8/10 for his hospitality and food.

The property is located far from the beach and restaurants (almost a km). The rooms are okayish for the price charged. Plus the area gets very dark post sunset making it impossible to walk from the beach. The tuk tuk overcharge you knowing this. The pool at the property is extremely small that you wont be using it. Few suggestions from my end: 1. Provide water bottles in the rooms. The guests should not be paying for something as basic as water. 2. For the price charged for the room, provide toiletries in the washroom. We were only provided with a small soap bar for everything.

Nous sommes arrivés à 18h. Notre chambre n’était pas prête malgré un checkin prévu à 12h30. L’hôte, pas du tout accueillant, nous a raconté une histoire à dormir debout. Nous nous sommes ensuite retrouvés dans une chambre qui ressemblait plus à une prison qu’aux photos. La chambre était en travaux, sans eau chaude et même avec des toilettes pas fixées au sol. Quand nous lui avons demandé de nous rembourser, il s’est énervé, nous a dit que nous pouvions partir puis nous a empêché de en bloquant notre voiture. FUYEZ !

Finalement nous avons pu annuler notre réservation et être remboursés.

Понравилось все! Мы жили компанией 6 человек. Как только мы вошли, нас встретил ласковый котенок Педро. Больших ласкунов я не встречала в своей жизни. Номера маленькие, скромные, но чистые и уютные, с кондиционерами. Наши балконы выходили на рисовые поля. Ежедневно мы наблюдали огромное количество птиц. Несколько павлиних, то гуляли по полю, то сидели на пальмах, и оказывается, павлины умеют летать. Павлин самец с огромным хвостом радовал нас то на балконе, то на крыше. Бурундуки, обезьяны, коровы, цапли, вараны, летучие лисицы. Я такое количество разнообразных животных даже в зоопарке не видела. Особенное золото этого места - хозяин Делип Кумар. Харизматичный, открытый, понимает тебя с полуслова. Он окутал нас заботой и вниманием. На ужин несколько раз готовил нам свежайшие рыбные деликатесы. Очень вкусно! В общем, вся наша компания в полном восторге от этого места и с удовольствием вернёмся сюда ещё. Шумная дорога и электричка далеко, поэтому не мешают своим шумом. Но от пляжа топать минут 20, учитывайте это при выборе. Мы ходить любим, поэтому нам это отдаление было в плюс. Есть небольшой бассейн и прекрасная общая веранда с шикарными видами. Завтраки традиционные. Достаточные, чтоб наесться. Из душа немного бывает неприятный запах, но это реально мелочи учитывая сколько положительных эмоций мы получили.

Потрясающее по атмосфере место: очень красивый частный отель, с невероятно харизматичным хозяином, который приветливо встретит, повеселит историями, предложит помощь в любых вопросах, а ещё будет угощать роскошными домашними шри-ланкийскими ужинами и завтраками. Номер с прекрасным видом (владелец отеля просил обязательно упомянуть в отзыве рисовые поля!!!). На самом деле, вид на поле с милыми коровками, павлинами, стайками попугайчиков, обезьянами в кронах деревьев, а на закате ещё и летучими лисицами, и это всё уже невероятно красиво! Даже, если ваш приезд попадет на момент, когда это самое поле рисом не засеяно) Номер очень компактный, но это компенсируется балконом с роскошным видом. До побережья около 15 минут пешком

Отель - одно из немногих высоких зданий в этом месте, но найти его можно не сразу, особенно, если водитель такси привезет не прямиком к нужной точке. Зато местные с радостью сориентируют и укажут нужное направление.

Las vistas al campo de atrás, se agradece ya que amaneces con sonidos de los animales en las mañanas. A lo lejos. Puedes escuchar monos, pavos, etc. El personal es muy amable. Estas a 15 minutos andando al la zona concurrida de la playa.

Einfach ein Paradies. Tolles Zimmer mit eigenem Balkon, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, coole dachterrasse und alles mitten im Grün. Das Frühstück morgens immer regional und einen Cappuccino dazu. Würden immer wiederkommen :)

We stayed for four nights in this accommodation and had a wonderful experience. The host gave us a very warm welcome and even helped us with some issues we had with our motorcycle. He is incredibly helpful and we recommend this place 100%. The accommodation is spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. Thank you so much for everything!

The location is great. The amount of wildlife you can see just on the balcony is amazing, close enough to the town but very quiet so you’ll get a good sleep

Тут просто огромный список минусов. Мы провели 4 ночи в октябре в этом гест хаусе. При вселении вас дружелюбно встретят посадят за стол на третьем этаже и начнут убеждать, что все нужно покупать у них завтраки, обеды, ужины, фрукты и все остальное, потому что там в городе все химическое и дорогое, а у них дешево и качественно. Мы заказали креветок и они действительно были вкусными, это единственное, что могу посоветовать у них купить, это стоит того. Теперь к менее приятному, покупка фруктов на острове с их изобилием вышла нам очень дорого, Кумара очень дорого продавал нам фрукты, ниже прикреплю фото сколько мы должны были ему заплатить при выселении. Этот лист бумаги с ценами ошеломил нас. Деньги тут делают в основном с еды, а не с проживания. Wi-Fi не работает. Максимум вы можете рассчитывать, что Кумара раздаст вам интернет со своего телефона. Очень шумно: утром в 6 утра мы не могли спать: нас поселили сразу в комнату под кухней и мы постоянно слышали звуки топоров, молотков и другие звуки готовки. Днем, когда кухня ненадолго освобождалась - за стеной от нас у изголовья работники производили ремонт и постоянно сверлили и снова не давали отдохнуть, выглядело это так будто хотят чтобы мы поскорее уехали. Ко всему прочему дети кидали много петард в поле, расхаживали с барабаном и это длилось часами, это было дико. Прикреплю все фото к отзыву и если получится, то и видео. Вечером, когда я отравилась йогуртом, а в Шри-Ланке будьте к этому готовы, я попросила персонал принести мне кислый свежевыжатый сок к примеру с лаймом, ананасом, апельсинами. Мне принесли молочный коктейль с бананом, а я как бы от молочных продуктов и отравилась - мне стало еще хуже от запаха коктейля. На утро мне утверждали, что они лучше знают как лечиться от отравления и поэтому отравление от молочных продуктов лучше лечить другими молочными продуктами, а тот факт, что я просила СВЕЖЕВЫЖАТЫЙ КИСЛЫЙ СОК, никого не волновало. Если не можете сделать о чем вас просят не берите заказ!!!

Большая кровать и просторный балкон, есть горячая вода

Даже не знаю, с чего начать) персонал нагло обманывал от начала и до конца, врали насчет wi-fi, мол, из-за дождя он не работает, на следующий день, когда дождя не было, wi-fi так и не появился, интернета вообще не было. В комнате постоянно воняло канализацией, персонал сильно шумел после 22:00 и с 5:30 утра, хотя у них же в правилах написано, что шуметь нельзя в это время! Завтрак нам готовили целую вечность, сначала персонал приготовил себе еду, а потом уже нам, кроме нас больше в отеле никого не было. Помимо всего прочего, к отелю ведет раздолбанная узкая дорога и он находится довольно далеко от основной улицы. Короче, одно из худших мест в Хиккадуве, не рекомендую!

Amazing location for a stay in Hikkaduwa. Good located to explore the surrounding and great spacious rooms with an astonishing view into the green. The pool allows for a refreshment after a long, hot day. The rooftop community space is another highlight. Highly recommended.

Nice building, looks beautiful. Big beds and good airconditioning. Bathroom is modern but a little small.

Doors close difficultly. Also no curtains in the room so very bright in the morning with the sun. Breakfast took a very long time.

Lokalizacja obiektu jest niesamowita. Cisza, spokój i zdala od zgiełku miasta. Widok ze strefy wspólnej i pokoju jest bardzo ładny. Pokoje czyste i komfortowe. Śniadania smaczne i takie trochę pomieszanie kuchni lankijskiej z zachodnią. Właściciel i obsługa bardzo pomocni. Basen nie duży ale wystarczający aby schłodzić się w upalne południe. Polecam!!!

W zasadzie nie ma nic co mi się nie podobało. Jedynie jak wspominałem właścicielowi żeby zamontować na ścianie gąbki amortyzujące w miejscu gdzie klamka od drzwi wejściowych dotyka ścianę szkoda uszkodzić ścianę i klamkę przy każdym otwieraniu drzwi. Jedna przestroga dla przyszłych gości żona właściciela ma dwa urocze małe pieski wulkany energii, jednakże mają swoje zwyczaju zabrać na przykład klapki jeśli są pozostawione poza drzwiami albo obok leżaka żeby sobie je pogryźć, więc uważajcie gdzie zostawiacie buty bo małe cwaniaczki chodzą po cichu i nie zauważycie kiedy mogą wam je podprowadzić.

Das Frühstück am 1. Tag war der wahrnsinn, super lecker und frisch. Wir bekamen Surf Unterricht für 40USD pro Person für 2 Stunden direkt vom Besitzer was cool war und Stress vermied. Wir schafften es auch zu stehen und ein wenig zu surfen nach so kurzer Zeit, wirklich cool. Und er sucht wirklich die beste Location raus die gerade möglich ist. Alles in allem aber wirklich toll, gemütlich schon gemacht und in der Natur. Wir konnten so viele Vögel beobachten. Es war schön einen Pool zu haben

Das Frühstück Am zweiten Tag war ok und wir bekamen diesmal leider keinen Tee obwohl gefragt wurde was wir möchten. Das surfen war bisschen stressig aber dennoch gut. Nur fuhren wir mit unserem Tuktuk 40min zur Location obwohl er sagte 20min (Sprit mussten wir natürlich zahlen) was etwas doof war. Leider gab es in der ersten Nacht ab 9pm irgendwelche flexarbeiten bzw. Baulärm draußen bis in die späte Nacht. Das Wasser im Pool war nicht besonders klar und leider echt warm.

Le lieu est très apaisant et le personnel si gentil, j’avais presque l’impression d’être de la famille ! La chambre était vraiment adorable, et la clim très apprécié !

Yoga sessions were equally amazing — a perfect way to start the day. What truly sets this place apart is how much the host genuinely cares about his guests. We didn’t just feel like tourists; we felt like part of a home. The atmosphere here is warm, personal, and unforgettable. We recommend this hotel to absolutely everyone, whether you’re here to surf, relax, or just enjoy good company. We’ll definitely be coming back — and next time, staying even longer!

Wunderschöne, abgelegene Anlage mit traumhaftem Ausblick vom Balkon auf Felder, Palmen, Natur und viele Vögel. Besonders schön ist die Dachterrasse, auf der Frühstück und Abendessen serviert werden. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker – wahlweise Toast mit Avocado und Eiern oder ein typisch sri-lankisches Frühstück. Abendessen gibt es nach Wunsch (Kosten: 4.000 Rupien) – wir hatten frischen Fisch und Huhn, beides frisch zubereitet und perfekt gewürzt. Wir waren in der Nebensaison dort. Der Gastgeber hat uns für nur 15 Dollar eine private Tour zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten gemacht, sich viel Zeit genommen, alles erklärt und uns wertvolle Tipps für unsere Rundreise gegeben. Kleine Dinge, die uns aufgefallen sind: Die Tür zum Bad schließt nicht, es gab kein Toilettenpapier, keinen Mülleimer und ein Stuhl auf der Terrasse war kaputt. Eigentlich wären es daher 9 Sterne gewesen, aber da der Gastgeber uns nach Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten gefragt hat, sehr bemüht ist und sicher alles behebt, geben wir gerne 10 Sterne.

The young boy who worked in the kitchen seemed like pure gold — 10/10 for him. The guesthouse is in a beautiful location, and I truly hope that the natural surroundings will remain protected.

I honestly didn’t want to write a negative review, but the refusal to take accountability left me with no other choice. I paid extra and the owner refuses to discuss this. The marketing does not match reality. I didn’t get any treatments I asked for. I Got lot of promises, but nothing happened. The place gives the impression of being family-run. One review says the owner lives with his wife; another says it’s run by a young couple. I did not see any woman present at any time. It’s confusing. And If there is problems seems like nobody wants to take responsibility. The experience also left me feeling sad, because I truly believe this guesthouse has potential and could succeed without making unnecessary promises. The host is likely a good person at heart, but has overlooked essential basics in pursuit of income. I have truly hope the owner, the person marketing the place, co-operators— whoever is involved — will make their operations more transparent and fair. Maybe they’ve been blinded by fast growth or ambition. I genuinely wish them well, and that they will welcome many happy guests in the future — guests who leave feeling respected, not misled.

The staff was very friendly, helped us a lot. The food was good and with nice presentation and the place was great value for money.

Parking was outside the hotel, we didn't face any issues but we were a bit concerned.

It was great place, loved the location even though it was not seaside. The view it had, made up for it! Friendly staff and great service!

The room was very cozy, with a veranda. The interior of the room was so thoughtful and soothing to be. The owner and the other employees were well-behaved and helpful.

The breakfast was below average. Only 2 toasts with 2 eggs and some salad. They only serve tea as an included breakfast. The coffee is not included. They said coffee is expensive and that's why we had to buy it separately. That disappointed us. The other places we had been to gave us coffee. Those places were much simpler in infrastructure and far from the city center. Another thing was the water. It was horribly smelly. Maybe because of the water tank or something else.

Such a beautiful, peaceful spot away from the buzz of the town. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming and everything was possible! The room was perfect, a very nice natural light and cute balcony. Also, the grilled fish for dinner was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Hikkaduwa

I liked the terrace upstairs, it was a nice place to have breakfast and chill. Dilip was helpful and friendly.

The property is nice, however it is quite a long way off how it is currently marketed on Instagram / booking.com. The photos show beautiful finishing touches to rooms, white cotton sheets, lovely lampshades, beautiful parquet type flooring. In reality my room was what you’d expect from a very basic hostel (see photos) no lamps, a single polyester sheet, bright white light, strange bedding, bare walls and plain stone floor. There were many bugs in the room including ants in the bed & the bed slats broke during my stay so I slept on one half of the bed. The pool area was a little cluttered with the area behind it being mid construction so it didn’t encourage me to use it. Also yes there are surroundings of lovely green vegetation but I don’t think it can be marketed as an oasis with two buildings being constructed on either side of the property.

Kumara, the owner and his son were very nice to us. Kumara organised a wonderful lake and mangrove trip on a traditional boat with a visit to a beautiful small temple that fit my budget! His son joined us on the trip and we had a fantastic time. On top of that there were no tourists at all! I can totally recommend that excursion. In the evening we had one of the best fresh fish I ever tasted and definitely the best during our stay in Sri Lanka at their place. Many thanks to the chef!

Beautiful spacious terrace with nature around!

This guesthouse was really lovely to stay at. The design of the buildings are quirky & creative, it’s amazing to have a pool you can mingle with others in. The restaurant where there always seemed to be staff is on the top floor. The rooms & linen were clean, & had big towels. I think each room has a private balcony, it has nice wood furniture on it. I loved having multiple pot plants in the bathroom & balcony, & around the complex. Loved the lush gardens. I had a stomach bug & Kumara the owner let me stay 7 hours after checkout till I had to leave for the airport - very generous. Him & his staff looked after us very well, there was always someone around to help

Some bedrooms are a bit smaller to the pics. It’d be cramped if you chose a triple room & slept 3 people there
