Serenity Valley - Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The owner puts so much care and love into everything she does, and you can truly feel it. She prepares amazing breakfasts and delicious homemade food, and she even helped me with my ticket. She was always kind and ready to help with anything I needed. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. I felt very welcome and at home here. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back in autumn to enjoy the beautiful view of the golden trees. 🍂

Nice country touch to the property. Very spacious apartment.

The rain made it a little bit hard to walk to the dining room for elderly people like me.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a pick up from the station and they even dropped us to the Zhangjiajie gate very early in the morning! They were super helpful with giving advice on how to do things in the national park. Room was comfortable and the view was beautiful!

The staff at Serenity Valley went above and beyond to accommodate my husband and I during our stay. I was 4 months pregnant at the time, and the staff gave me excellent service to enjoy a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and felt like sleeping on a cloud. The views from the bed were so amazing that one day we just slept/stayed in bed looking out at the scenery all day long. Breakfast was phenomenal! I truly enjoyed the dumplings, sweet potato, fresh fruit, eggs, toast, and Chinese tea every morning! The staff even prepared noodles for us every morning, as we enjoy a good bowl of noodles. The staff went out of their way to help us arrange drivers and purchase tickets to/from all our day trips to the national park, Grand Canyon, and Tiananmen Mountain. We are already planning our next trip back to China, and I would absolutely stay at Serenity Valley again! Staff even hand-knit a parting gift for our baby boy, and I can't wait to show him when he arrives soon. Thank you!!

Serenity location at Zhangjiaje National Park Hosts - Mr and Mrs Wu are friendly and provide exceptional beyond our expectations

Access to eateries as middle of no where and distance, no transportation to city centre

Modern large room,

The breakfast and dinner room is away from main lobby and unfortunately because of rains, wet, the access and floors are slippery. The floor inside the room is also very slippery

Everything was excellent. If you are travelling to see the Forest Park, stay here! The host is fantastic and she can offer practical details to make your sightseeing easy, as I experienced.

one of the best places we have ever stayed at! the hospitality was incredible, the owner put so much love and care into taking care of us and making sure we felt comfortable, including planning our itineraries, getting tickets for us, and arranging rides everywhere. the rooms were absolutely stunning and everything about the experience was amazing. we plan on returning with friends next time!

The hotel is out of the main park so very quiet and peaceful. The family who run the hotel and very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Communication before and throughout the stay was great and we had a few questions which the owner helped us with.

Certamente, recomendaria o hotel.

Excellent host Jane who took care of every need. She was always smiling and ready to assist with food and travel and made all arrangements for our tour as well. She arranged English speaking guide and car for us at a reasonable price compared to other travel agents.

Property is located in mountains so no amenities nearby. Breakfast and dinner options were very filling and made with lot of love by the staff but don’t expect a very large variety given the remote location

The receptionist is helpful and very knowledgeable

My stay at Zhangjiajie Serenity Valley was excellent. The room was large, spotless, and very comfortable, with a great shower, an automatic toilet, a big cozy bed, and a spectacular mountain view. The jacuzzi was a great bonus. Breakfast is in Chinese style, but you can request eggs if you prefer. There are no restaurants nearby, but the hotel’s own restaurant is very convenient, with fair prices and generous portions. The location is ideal: about 10 minutes by car from both the South and South-East gates of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, 50–60 minutes to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (Glass Bridge), and about 20–30 minutes to Tianmen Mountain. I also had no problems using Didi to move around. The staff can arrange tickets and help organize your visit, and they were incredibly kind and helpful with every request. A wonderful place with TRULY SWEET people. Fully recommended.

Our stay exceeded all expectations! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, laundry service, and a beautifully decorated room for our honeymoon. They booked all our tickets, guided us through the parks in Zhangjiajie, and even prepared meals on request. The hospitality made us feel completely at home, truly a perfect experience. 10/10, highly recommended for an authentic and refreshing stay! ☺️ we will definitely come back!

Property owner picked me up in Zhangjiajie Center and took me to airport on departure. Owner will transport you to all area attractions or wherever you want to go.. included in rate. She drove me to a town two hours north of the Inn... no problem. She will help you set up WeChat for voice to Chinese text although she understands English. All facilities and fixtures are top quality.. nice bigdet! Custom hot breakfast. I felt like a friend after three days..

Property is on a hillside and remote. I missed being able to walk to a 7/11.

The room was very large, plenty of space with a nice bathtube to use and great facilities, very modern and automated including the blinds. The bed was very comfy. Most importantly the host was extremely helpful, she picked us up from the train station and was late but made sure we could order some dinner, the menu they have is a bit more for the local taste but they do have some good options for foreigners. She helped us book the visits to the national park and sent us tips on the itinerary. Very quiet there, super remote so don't get scared when you see the narrow roads taken to the location. I think in the summer time it is great there and especially with a larger group, they have a great terrace area. We wanted a small fridge to store drinks and the host was very kind and made sure one was available in the room.

Being remote has positives and the negative would be that you are a bit far from restaurants or other places so you'll have to rely on Didi but that's easy to get usually was about £5 a whole journey from the town near the national park. Also, get snacks and drinks as they don't have a wide range in reception, no shops nearby.

The host was amazing. Location was great for exploring the park

The host

Luxury time in the perfect location to visit Zhangjiajie National Park and the hotel offered a free shuttle service to the South Gate. The hotel hosts were lovely and so helpful, offering us support booking a car when Didi wouldn't work and helping us get tickets to Huanglong cave. We were lucky enough to visit during Moon Festival and the hotel hosts invited us to celebrate with them - we had beer, moon cakes and soup, this was our favorite night of the trip! Thank you for making us feel at home, would definitely recommend staying here.

Nothing! Everything was perfect

Very nice and cleat. Staff very helpful.

Surrounded by nature - truly lives up to its name. Plus the loveliest and most helpful host ever. We loved staying here and looking forward to going back.

Miss Lu Juan was an exceptional host—both incredibly warm and wonderfully attentive. She was always available with a warm greeting and eager to assist in any way possible. The property itself is a hidden gem, nestled atop a hill away from the main road, ensuring a truly peaceful and quiet stay. Waking up to the stunning mountain view from my room was an absolute highlight.

A quick heads-up: since there aren't any convenience stores close by and food delivery isn't an option, you'll want to pack some snacks!

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for the mountain views. The facility is fantastic and modern. Strongly recommended.

May not be easy to get taxi. But the host kindly provided us rides if their time was permitted or booked taxi for us. Having a rental car may be more convenient.

How beautiful, spacious and peaceful it was here. Our host was really amazing, she picked us up, dropped us off and in addition helped us plan our day trips! She was simply Devine! The food was also absolutely delicious!

Nothing negative

Il servizio navetta ci è venuto a prendere all’aeroporto per portarci all’hotel.

Amazing place!

We loved everything!

We were very happy with our stay! The accommodation was beautiful, with a stunning view and a great location. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The owner of the hotel was extremely kind and helpful – she assisted us in organizing a tour through the national park and arranged a driver for us as well. The hotel had a warm, family-like atmosphere, which made us feel very welcome. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this place to others. We would stay here again anytime!

Soggiorno perfetto! Consigliatissimo a chiunque voglia vivere Zhangjiajie

Proprietaria molto disponibile.

Cibo da migliorare ma apprezzabile

Spacious and new room, very nice view. All people working here are friendly. Breakfast is good. The last day we had to leave early in the morning and they prepared a box to bring with us for breakfast. Position is not far from South-east gate. Recommended for your stay!

We had a fantastic stay here!!! The owner was so lovely and helpful, really appreciated all her guidance to make our trip in Zhangjiajie so enjoyable. Beautiful accommodation up in the mountains. Highly recommend!

Everything, this was one of the most beautiful places and the staff was amazing. They always took very good care of us the entire time, it was the perfect place to relax and the view from our room was so beautiful! Breakfast each morning was also very good it was like our own mother making the meals they were all home made. I would recommend this place to everyone I know and we will be back many times again

Having to leave :(

The Host Lady was really so nice. We got in near midnight and a driver was organised to pick us up, for free. Watch-out, he was waiting outside the airport, not at the arrivals doorway. The location feels remote, but it makes the view absolutely stunning and adds to the quiet peace. The Host Lady is well-practised at using a translation app, so I don't think communication is a problem. Breakfast is served in the 'restaurant' which is a separate guesthouse-type area down some stairs outside. The breakfast every morning is roughly the same. There is a fried egg, a fruit (melon one day, or orange the next), a vegetable (a corn one day, or a sweet potato the next day) a bread-type bun, and a bao-bun. AND ALSO a bowl of noodle soup with mince. It can be a lot. Our final breakfast also had rice porridge on top of all that. If you need help planning your day, the Host Lady is happy to help. She is always available on WeChat. If you book the southern entrance of the Zhangjiajie Forrest Park, she can drive you to the entrance (and pick-up) as it's only a few minutes' drive away. If you need a driver for the day for further away, they will book you a driver (you pay them directly via Weixin). We had a driver for the whole day to go to the Canyon Bridge. Our first full day, the Host Lady had a fresh home-made dinner made for us in their restaurant. It was 210 RMB, but it was very nice.

This has been one of my best experiences I have ever had at a hotel! The owner was extremely kind and made sure that we could have a great time. She prepared for free a full three-day itinerary customized for us, arranged a driver and bought all the tickets that we needed. Moreover, she made sure to follow up with us and was available to reply to our questions. That alone saved us hundreds of dollars. The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are big and have everything you need. Also, the location is very convenient right next to the National Park and it is a lovely place to relax. They can also prepare customized meals for you at a low price. I recommend 100%, you will have a great time!

Serenity Valley Hotel in Zhangjiajie. This hotel is known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, making it a great choice for travelers visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the stunning natural landscapes of the area. ✔ **Scenic Location** – Nestled near Zhangjiajie’s breathtaking mountains. ✔ **Comfortable Rooms** – Clean, cozy, and often with views of the lush greenery. ✔ **Great Service** – Friendly staff who can assist with tours, tickets, and local tips. Always helpful and supportive. ✔ **Proximity to Attractions** – Convenient access to **Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianzi Mountain, and the Glass Bridge**.

Best host ever!! Not enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was and to what extent the host went to making us feel welcomed and ensure our trip went smoothly. We landed way earlier than expected at the airport but the host already arranged for timely pick up and upon reaching at the hotel, accomodated us in the room. On top of that, made brunch to welcome us. We already had our tickets to the national forest park but the host provided a customised route based on our entry point to the park. The route plan was so detailed, we got around really easily while visiting everything we wanted. I’m also vegetarian and had lunch and dinner at the property everyday. The host even customized some menu items to make them vegetarian so I can enjoy different types of meals!! The hotel is in a great location, providing an extraordinary view of the mountains. We were lucky to enjoy the spectacular views in different weather conditions during our stay. Located at a proximity to the Zhangjiajie National Forest park, it takes only around 10 mins to reach the South gate and around 30 mins to reach the East gate. Note that the host also provides free shuttle to the park but I also wanted to update on the DIDI comment. Didi is accessible to and from the location. Hotel is also equipped with modern facilities and very well maintained. After a visit to the surrounding attractions, soaking in the jacuzzi while enjoying the views was so relaxing. Overall would definitely recommend and surely come back again during winter to enjoy snow and the mountains.

Leaving!! ☹️

Our stay was incredible! the facilities, location, views, staff, food, and room are all fantastic. The staff gave us free lifts when we needed them, and offered free drink in the hotel. This was the most expensive hotel we stay at in China, but it was well worth the price, such an experience, i would recommend visiting and would certainly stay again

This is an incredibly beautiful and cozy place! The rooms are spacious, modern, and very well-equipped with everything you need. The hotel grounds are stunning, and the design of the property is truly impressive. It’s just a 10-minute taxi ride (Didi arrives quickly) to the East Gate of the park. The hotel serves delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. But the real gem of your stay will be the hotel hostess—she is amazing! She will arrange everything you need, offer helpful advice, and even make bookings for you if you haven’t done so yourself. We were extremely pleased with our stay at this wonderful retreat.

The wonderful view and the enthusiastic host. The lady arranged our airport pickup, we were around midnight, still she whipped up some noodles for us, and helped us to get the 4 day program crammed into one day.

The room was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the spectacular view from the room. The hostess was also very friendly and helpful. She offered to help us with our luggage up the steps and offered great assistance with how to get around to the tourist spots. She gave us a ride down to the South Gate and also helped us with sorting the tickets, etc. Breakfast was also very lovely at the beautiful location.

It wasn't good - it was REALLY good. We had such a wonderful time at Serenity Valley. Everybody was very helpful, kind and it made our stay very relaxing. Especially the support for organising trips and transport was great. Thanks again for a wonderful time.

The manager/owner went out of her way to be hospitable. She arranged for airport pickup and she drive us to the train station herself. She was also instrumental in buying train tickets for us. A wonderful property!

The view and the hotel are truly exceptional, and the room is fantastic. It offers the most stunning view, which can be enjoyed either from the spa or from a comfortable chair in the room. By far the best hotel experience we’ve had in China. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful – always smiling and willing to go above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible stay. I give this place my highest recommendation.

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the charming host, who met us at the station and took us to this amazing place. Despite the late hour—close to midnight—we were offered a delicious meal, which was such a thoughtful gesture! The host went above and beyond by helping us plan our itinerary, purchasing tickets for all the attractions we wanted to visit, and arranging transfers with great care. It made everything so easy and enjoyable for us. The room was stunning, with a breathtaking view of the mountains—truly unforgettable! Thank you so much for the exceptional hospitality. This was an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to return!

Beautiful mountain views, very welcoming and helpful hostess, great food and stunning rooms.

Leaving

Price is fair, staff was extremely good, very nice place to be at for relaxing after a day in the park

A little far, need transportation to go anywhere . If you’re a traveller , you will need taxi service to go anywhere.

Location: The location was great: up in the mountains, so it was very calm and quiet after a day in Zhangjiajie National Park with lots of tourists. The property is right between two entrances (Forest Park and Zumagang entrance) and therefore only ten minutes drive to either of these entrances. The hotel provides for free transportation to the National Park and airport. Property: The hotel is very new, the room is spacious with a great view. The bedding is very comfortable, I loved the big and soft towels. There is a hot tub with mountain view. Food: There are no restaurants in the area but the food (breakfast and dinner) in the hotel is delicious. Services: The staff goes above and beyond to help you with transportation and provides great advice about the visit to the National Park and surrounding area. I can only recommend this place.

I liked everything.

We absolutely loved our stay! Very clean, comfortable, spacious and modern (love the modern toilet and actually having a filtered water tap in the room) Absolutely stunning views in a really quiet area. Taxis were easy and cheap to get to and from the entrances and into the town for more amenities but they did offer us a beautiful traditional dinner at the hotel. Hosts are amazing, we loved her! Super helpful in helping us plan our days and book tickets and picking us up, laundry etc. It really was a home from home. (All pics from the room/grounds)

Nothing! Might be useful to have an extra signpost on the junction just to help taxis in the dark at night, don't think it's a very well known hotel at the moment so they were skeptical they were going in the right direction

Breakfast

The hotel picked us up from the airport and really took care of us. Breakfast every morning was incredible and they also dropped us each morning at the nearby forest park and helped us plan our itinerary so we could see everything we wanted to (and more) in our short three day stay.

Wow! AMAZING! this hotel has a very big and comfortable room, so clean and pretty! The views are so stunning too from the bathtub and bed! Waking up to it everyday was amazing. It is located away from the city and tourist areas so it is very calm and peaceful, so if you want serenity and peacefulness, this is the hotel for you! Staff help you get to/from the national park & bus station so being away from the main area isn’t a problem. The staff is AMAZING! They helped me with any problems I had, since I had problems with my WeChat and card, my SIM card ect as I’m a foreigner, and they made sure to have a solution for everything. Along with making me tea or dinner if I needed. It felt like home, I didn’t want to leave !

Nothing!

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location and room were top notch. We got a free room upgrade to a Superior Suite that got us an unbelievable view into the valley and towards the iconic Zhangjiajie mountains. Special thanks to the owner and crew, who drafted up a travel plan that fit the duration of our stay in the Zhangjiajie area and got us all of the needed tickets. This was incredibly helpful, especially for us being complete strangers to the area. This, as well as shuttle services to the park entrances and transfers from the airport, were all arranged for no additional cost. We also enjoyed the food, the ingredients of which come from their own farm. Our wishes were taken into account wherever possible. All in all, highly recommended for a stay in the mountains and we would definitely stay here again.

We loved every second of it :)

My stay wouldn’t have been the same had I stayed somewhere else. The staff really treated me like a friend coming home, every single moment, every single person. I felt really safe and taken care of. They went to pick me up to the train station and offered to help me with transportation with no extra cost for most of the days; Breakfast was delicious and different every day! They even washed my sneakers because they saw they were dirty!!!!! 🥰 I mean, really it was beyond any expectation. The property is small, but you don’t really need more as most of the time you are visiting. But even staying there, with the view from my room, having a bathtub, the fine air, surrounded by nature, is priceless. Besides the awesome service, the rooms are super clean, no trace of smoking at all (I don’t smoke and that is a non negotiable for me in any room), spacious, delicious soft pillows, the bidet was the most modern with all functions automatic, even the cover lifted or closed automatically… Really really, mind blowing! I will come back, and definitely stay there every single time! It feels like the natural way, coming back home!

Basically nothing, except that you have to depend on a car every time you need to go out. But, having them bringing me everywhere was the solution!

Location was really great!

Wonderful quiet location with very comfortable room. Staff very helpful

Food options very limited but all tasty and freshly prepared. Outside space a little lacking in amenities.

Rooms are spacious and beautiful, the bedding is so comfortable and the view is stunning. The owners are going above and beyond to accommodate the guests, it is absolutely amazing. They arranged beautiful vegan food for one of the group, Carl took us on a tour of the National Park, they did so much for us! This place is a jewel ! Thank you so much for this memorable stay!

Absolutely gorgeous property in the middle of an extremely serene valley. The staff were super friendly and always doing their best to help whenever/where ever possible. On site meals were delicious and plenty of vegetarian friendly foods available. Staff gave lifts to/from the national park.
