Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal an der Rezeption und im Restaurant.

Die Lage ist zwar zentral, aber das Hotel befindet sich an einer extrem verkehrsreichen engen Straße. Tagsüber, mit Ausnahme der Wochenenden, hat man durchgehend einen Stau vor dem Hotel und alle Wege zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten führen an diesem vorbei. Da die Bürgersteige klein sind oder nicht existieren, muss man Slalom um die Autos gehen. Das Hotel liegt außerdem am fast tiefsten Punkt der Altstadt, so dass alle Wege zu Fuß den Berg hochgehen.

Fabulous location, wonderful breakfast and the staff went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. We needed a doctor and the front desk had one organised almost immediately to come to the hotel. The bell captain was so helpful as were all the staff particularly the front desk staff. We loved the hotel and loved the rooms and the location was such a close walk to all the major sites. Rooms had a great coffee machine and water was replenished daily. Rooms were also very quiet and well appointed. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a luxurious and happy stay in Istanbul.

We were greeted and offered an arrival drink which was greatly appreciated. The check in process was completed while we were resting, we were the escorted and show our room. Our bags followed an extra bag rack was supplied to assist during our stay. The concierge went above and beyond to make our stay one of our best during this trip.

We had the most amazing stay at AJWA Sultanahmet. The staff were absolutely beautiful across the whole property. Gorgeous design perfect for Istanbul vibe, walking distance to shops, attractions and great restaurants! Special mention to Hasan who welcomed us and looked after everything we needed through our whole stay. Just wished we had more time. Highly recommend++

There is no window in the room (family room), only an artificial window. I suppose this must be mentioned in the description because it’s a significant factor. Breakfast can be more varied for this money, like meat, ham, or salmon on side; cheap sausages are not good.

Had a wonderful experience at the AJWA Sultanahamet hotel. The staff were so helpful and proactive in assisting any query you may have. A special mention for the Bellhop team who happily assisted my mother with her wheelchair needs (wheelchair provided by the hotel). While the property is not far from central tourist spots it is in a congested area with a few slopes to contend with. When available, the hotel provides complimentary drop off to city centre points. While you don’t book a holiday to stay in a hotel, the interior was sumptuous and very clean. No trouble with the room facilities - air con, WiFi, etc all worked well. If there were any queries a quick call To reception and someone would be at your door within 5 mins. The rooms also have a pillow menu including an orthopaedic option. Beds weee very comfortable. We dined at the restaurant one evening which was lovely and it’s the same space where they serve breakfast- beautiful views. Breakfast was excellent with a very good variety of options this includes table service for tea/coffee and any hot eggs made to order. Unfortunately I didn’t get time to sample the beautiful spa. Enjoyed everything about this hotel but the best aspect is the staff - they were brilliant! Thank you to the team for making our stay sooo enjoyable!!

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel und können es weiterempfehlen. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben sind die exklusiven Spa- und Gym-Zeiten für Frauen, die eine sehr angenehme und private Atmosphäre schaffen. Das Spa war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir waren begeistert und konnten die Ruhe dort wunderbar geniessen. Als muslimisches Hotel im osmanischen Stil und ohne Alkoholservice bietet das Hotel ein sehr entspanntes, respektvolles und familienfreundliches Umfeld. Man fühlt sich von Anfang an sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben. Ein ganz besonderes Lob gilt dem aussergewöhnlich aufmerksamen, herzlichen und freundlichen Service. Wir bedanken uns ganz herzlich bei Herrn Gökhan, Hasan und Frau Tuba für ihre tolle Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit und die herzliche Betreuung. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können dieses Hotel weiterempfehlen!

Einige Punkte könnten jedoch verbessert werden: Das Zimmer Nr. 202 mit dem angeblichen Gartenblick entsprach leider nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt aus unserer Sicht nicht ganz überein. Die Anreise mit grossem Gepäck und den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln kann aufgrund der sehr steilen Strassen zum Hotel eine Herausforderung sein. Wir empfehlen, die Anfahrt vorab genau zu prüfen und gegebenenfalls einen Transfer zu organisieren. Auch bei Taxis ist Vorsicht geboten. Daher empfiehlt es sich, die Organisation eines Taxis dem Hotel zu überlassen. Das Housekeeping könnte ebenfalls aufmerksamer sein. Insgesamt ist das Hotel schön, aber bei diesen Punkten besteht noch Verbesserungspotenzial.

Great room and bathroom, excellent value for a top class 5 star hotel. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and polite, particularly Niyazi OK on reception. The location is also very good and a short walk to all the major sights in the old City. The restaurant is also very high quality with a terrific breakfast.

There are single sex times only for the spa and gym with the day divided in two. The hotel is also alcohol free but there a large number of local bars and restaurants.

Beautiful sanctuary

This was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable stays I have had. The location is excellent and central to most tourist attractions. Istanbul is quite hilly so if you’re going to mostly walk then this is ideal. The hotel itself is a step above the rest. From the decor to the ambience to the room itself there was nothing to critique as the attention to detail and beauty surpassed expectations. But any holiday is judged not only on the accomodation but the people and in this I have rarely come across the level of hospitality as provided by staff here. The warmest greeting on arrival, delicious sherbet and having our room already ready was a bonus after a long flight. The breakfast is lovely serving a more traditional fare and the gentleman in charge in the mornings ( sorry I forgot his name) was so warm and helpful. Special mention must go to the Bell Captain Aytec and his bell team. They were always quick with a warm smile and greeting, helpful with directions and are a credit to the hotel. The small gesture of a present as we were leaving was unexpected but it goes to show how much the entire staff make you feel like family when you are there. I really didn’t want to hand in our keys and checkout - definitely the only place I’ll be staying in Istanbul when I come back!

Only issue, although clearly stated from the beginning, is that couples cannot use the pool at the same time (gents in the morning, ladies in the afternoon) and there is no alcohol served due to halal tradition. All these though are very small compromises for staying at a really good and welcoming property.

La posizione è ottima per scoprire Istanbul. La colazione è eccellente.

L'acqua della piscina è ghiacciata ed il servizio minibar in camera da migliorare (bicchieri sporchi non sostituiti, dimenticanze varie). Si tratta di un hotel che rispetta le regole della religione musulmana per cui l'accesso in piscina è consentito al mattino solo x uomini, al pomeriggio solo x donne. Onestamente proporrei orari invertiti a giorni alterni. Questo è un aspetto non evidente in fase di prenotazione.

Exceptional property. Wonderful location. Staff exceptional. Bedrooms were very nice however a little dark. I did not think the breakfast was exceptional by any means. No sourdough. Croissants etc seemed to be made with margarine or something as they were not good at all. Breakfast could improve a lot as the property is genuinely lovely. The pool is not great. Small and women and men each have different time slots and it’s indoors and very dark. Just didn’t think it was a nice pool and almost pointless.

The attention to detail in the hotel was excellent. The customer service from the bell captain and the bell team was 5 Stars! They looked after our every need and when we needed to change the configuration of the room they accommodated us without any fuss and the upmost professionalism. Bardzo wysoki standard hotelu. Piękne wnętrza, wspaniały widok z pokoju. Bardzo wysoki poziom obsługi. Ze śniadań nie korzystaliśmy, ale tuż obok hotelu jest bardzo dużo knajpek, gdzie można zjeść za nieduże pieniądze. Świetna lokalizacja - dosłownie 10-15 minut spacerem od Błękitnego Meczetu.

Rozczarowaniem był brak możliwości skorzystania z basenu wspólnie z mężem. W hotelu obowiązuje ścisły podział na czas w SPA dla pań (15.00-22.00) oraz panów (8.00-15.00) co było bardzo niewygodne jeśli planuje się wspólne spędzanie czasu w ciągu dnia. W rezultacie podczas 3-dniowego pobytu skorzystaliśmy z basenu tylko po 1 razie. Możliwość wspólnej kąpieli w basenie jest możliwa tylko od 22.00 do 24.00 za opłatą 190 euro (sic!).

No indica que las instalaciones no se comparten en familia. Las mujeres tienen horarios diferentes a los de los hombres. Realmente pague un precio increíblemente excesivo para lo que me brindaron en cuanto al servicio. Muy decepcionada. Deberían indicar esto!!

Excellent breakfast in a beautifull top floor restaurant with fantastic view, delicious food selection, fresh juices, cheeses, fruits. We had a lovely and very spacious room on 7th with big elegant marble tail bathroom with bathtube I would soke in forever, the bad was super comfortable!. Impeccable cleanliness and very cortuous and helpful staff ready to arrange everything for you. Very nice swimming pool ( and yes, the only drawback is the division of man and wemen so you cannot enjoy it during the day together) The whole place is fool of beautiful ferniture and decors in the ottoman style. True masterpieces you can admire and have them in your room! The location is within the walking distance to Hippodrome and all restaurant, shops and bars we can wish for. We would surely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to relax in comforting ambient and pleasure to engulf in the ottoman style and culture interior. Truly memorable expierice! Would surely come back again!

While the location is conveniently close to all major locations the street is really busy and has horrible traffic. So if you take a cab you will be in it for a while and depending where you going you could walk faster. There are no side walks and we found ourselves walking on the side of the road.

Lovely stay! From the entrance to the interior decor, everything was absolutely stunning and very cozy. The location is a solid 10/10, couldn’t have been better. There are so many historic attractions nearby, along with little shops, supermarkets, the bazaar, and lovely restaurants all within walking distance. The only minor improvement would be the breakfast service, which could be a bit more refined, labeling the food correctly. Other than that, a huge compliment to the reception and concierge team for their kind and warm service.

Verdict: this is a very high-class, emotional, Ottoman-style luxury hotel in the heart of old Istanbul. Not a modern “glass luxury” hotel — it is more like a private Ottoman mansion/palace with Islamic/halal positioning, art, marble, mother-of-pearl furniture, carpets, and historical atmosphere. Tripadvisor describes it as “more than a mere five-star hotel” with a private-mansion feeling and halal hospitality. The location is excellent: AJWA Sultanahmet is at Piyerloti Caddesi No:30, Sultanahmet, close to the core historical district of Istanbul. The hotel offers a spa, indoor pool, steam room and hammam-style wellness facilities, which is important after walking all day in Istanbul. The design is the main reason it feels special: Ottoman splendor, handcrafted furniture, Persian rugs, marble work, painted ceilings and a very rich traditional aesthetic. Preferred Hotels describes it as a five-star hotel in the heart of Old Istanbul with Ottoman-style luxury and views toward the Sea of Marmara from Zeferan Restaurant. Recent review signals are also strong: Expedia shows it as “Exceptional” with hundreds of reviews and highlights the hammam spa, indoor pool, rooftop restaurant, Bosphorus/Old City access, and highly personal service. . My final “100-star” feeling For Sultanahmet, history, romance, Islamic/Ottoman luxury, family stay, quiet elegance — I would give it: Not the best choice if you want modern nightlife, Bosphorus resort energy, or ultra-contemporary luxury. But for old Istanbul soul — AJWA is one of the most beautiful choices.

Hotel Clerk and door men were fantastic. So Helpful and I would say the entire hotel staff were extremely service oriented. It was a very luxurious day and every person we interacted with demonstrated the highest level of courtesy. The spa was a wonderful experience, best massage I’ve ever had! Our hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is a good location in terms of proximity to the old city, breakfast spread is large and the restaurant has a fantastic view.

I wish the dinner and breakfast menus had vegan (dairy/egg/meat free) options. The Gym hours vary by gender and the specified times for women are difficult. There are some brief hours in the early morning and then some hours after 3 PM but it would make it difficult to sight see in the middle of the day and the hours overlap with peak meal times. To be equitable, I think there needs to be something later in the morning, available for women.

Klein Zimmer in Familiensuite hat gar kein Fenster. Dadurch war es dunkel. Einzige Fenster ist zu klein für Suite. Es fällt Information, dass Pool nur zu bestimmten Zeiten (für Frauen nachmittag und Männer vormittag) und nur getrennt genutzt werden darf. Die Lage war zwar zentral, aber nicht besonders schön.

Отличное расположение — многие достопримечательности находятся в пешей доступности. Очень понравились завтраки с красивым видом на воду. Выбор блюд хороший, есть всё необходимое, а также можно заказать дополнительные блюда из меню. Отдельно хочется отметить персонал: сотрудники очень внимательные и искренне заботятся о гостях. Каждый день на ресепшене интересовались, всё ли у нас хорошо, нужна ли уборка или какая-либо помощь. Особенно приятно, что сотрудник быстро запомнил номер нашей комнаты и всегда обращался к нам очень внимательно. В номере идеальная чистота и внимание к деталям: каждое полотенце было аккуратно упаковано в отдельный чехол, все вещи размещены на своих местах, даже увеличительное зеркало было защищено чехлом. Также порадовала ванная комната — отличный напор воды и стабильная температура.

Единственное небольшое пожелание — наличие совместной зоны хамама для пар. Однако понимаем, что раздельное посещение является частью местных традиций и культурных особенностей.

O transporte na regiao é caótico, apesar de haver taxis, vans, uber sempre a disposição; só o tráfego que é ruim mesmo porém se o objetivo é visitar os principais pontos turisticos é excelente, da pra fazer tudo a pé. Recomendo o uso do Tram para ir ao Galata port que quando nao ha navios atracados vira uma atração à parte.

The shower was,a bit small

Location is excellent. Rooms were very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was very good as well. Staff were all very guest focused and helpful.

Lighting the bathroom wasn’t bright enough for me and the hot water in the bathroom sink wasn’t hot and yet the shower was just fine.

Kaldığımız white house çok konforluydu bi grup arkadaş olarak. Dekorasyon çok güzeldi, evde ihtiyacımız olandan fazlasıyla her şey mevcuttu. Hizmet çok kaliteli ve hızlıydı, çalışanlar çok güler yüzlü ve yardım severlerdi. Harika bir kahvaltı seçenekleri vardı. Çok güzel manzara eşliğinde keyifle yaptık. Konum olarak harika, ulaşımı çok kolay. Herkese tavsiye ederim.

Pool use hours are separated by sex. Opposite sex can use the pool after hours for a fee.

Excellent restaurant with a great view over the old town and sea. Very good breakfasts. Dinners were also very good. The hotel car which took us to some local sights was really helpful as my wife is disabled. The reception staff, the concierges and luggage staff were all so friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable stay in the old town within easy reach of the historic centre.

Meu cartao foi cobrado integralmente a estadia semanas antes do check in e ao falar com hotel ainda fui informada que a tarifa era nao reembolsavel e tenho a confirmacao do booking que seria cobrada no ckeck in e era reembolsavel. Ainda bem que nao tive que cancelar. Cuidem ao fazer a reserva. Cuidado com alguns quartos, o meu tinha banheira e meu marido idoso teve dificuldade p entrar.

The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing! And the view was perfection. I loved the inlay furniture in our room. The artwork all around the property was amazing. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The concierge, Marie, was especially helpful.

I don't think there was anything that could be improved upon.

Консьерж и персонал в целом выше всяких похвал и ожиданий. Очень помогли со сложной логистикой: нам был нужен трансфер в аэропорт ночью со стадиона вместе с багажом. Предложили пару вариантов и проконтролировали весь процесс.

Дизайн на любителя, но мы знали, где бронировали номер. Фотографии полностью передают восточную специфику отеля. Совсем не в моем вкусе, но кому-то может быть по душе. В итоге это оказался лучший выбор именно благодаря персоналу, соотношению цена/качество и локации.

Ce magnifique établissement tout près des grands monuments d'Istanbul s'intègre parfaitement dans son quartier. La décoration correspond à ce que l'on peut rechercher dans pareil endroit. Le quartier est très pitoresque. Près du grand Bazar et de la mer en même temps, sa situation géographique est parfaite. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent et très varié.

Front desk was great. Good location. Very authentic feel.

A beautiful property, well located, great breakfast included. The staff was very kind and accommodating, especially Aytac and the bell team. Every day Aytac and his team went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed.

The hotel was located perfectly for us. It was within a 10 min walk of the Grand Bazaar in one direction and the Sophia Hagia in another. We stayed there twice for 3 days, split up by a trip to Cappadocia. We had a deluxe room and a corner suite. Both were lovely, although the latter was quite a bit larger. The beds were very comfortable and the decor was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was very good with nice views overlooking the water in the distance. All of the staff were very friendly helpful. Aytac and the 'bell team' were especially helpful with our bags. We liked the fact that there were plenty of moderately priced restaurants in the area. Also, there were a couple of decent laundry facilities just down the block but we didn't use them as this was our last stop before home. The drive to the hotel from the airport is about an hour because of traffic in the old city.

The hot water in the bathroom sink was not hot, compared to the shower. The lighting in the bathroom was not as bright as I like for shaving. We didn't use the spa/gym but men and women have separate times to use it. I thought the hotel was expensive but included in the price is a 20%? VAT which makes Istanbul expensive in general.
