The hotel staff were very good and the bed was very comfortable for me
The hotel room looked a little tired but I was told that a major revamp was under way and a friend's room that had been done looked excellent
Food for all meals was good and well priced. Breakfast was included and they were happy to change the menu to accommodate our needs. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Always there if we needed something.

A lovely place to stay, set back from the village but very close on foot. A very comfortable room. Wrea Green is on the main half-hourly bus route between Preston and Blackpool, so very convenient. We arrived by train at the nearest station (Kirkham & Wesham) with a bus stop almost outside. We were attending a do at Ribby Hall Village which has a bus stop outside too, so easy to go to/fro there although it is walking distance with pavements the whole way.
It would be an improvement to put a sign directing visitors to reception from the footpath off Mill Lane. We walked from the bus stop past the huge green to Pudding Pie Nook that leads to Mill Lane, then a short path (loose surface but dry) through some trees to emerge on the car park but with no signage. From there it was a mystery tour to find the reception.
We loved the hotel and location, gorgeous building and very large room and the cleaning was excellent, specially in the bathroom. The breakfast was very tasty and staff was very friendly and attentive.
Decoration of the rooms could be improved if anything. Not having a good internet connection was a problem, and we could watch anything on tv or laptop.
Hotel was fantastic in every way
Nothing
The location was serene and easily accessible by foot and taxi. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect and we would be happy to recommend to others, and to stay here again in the future!
There were renovations being carried out which were a little noisy, but they were properly signposted at reception so it wasnt a suprise to hear works being done in other rooms. Some of the decor could do with updating (broken tiles in bathroom, etc) but it didn't affect our stay at all. The bath was gorgeous but the shower did not work properly and lost pressure during use.
Relaxed, excellent refurbished room.
Bar closed too early 🙂. No real ales.
Beautiful location, excellent refurbished room, immaculately cleaned, lovely furnishings and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast.
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful venue. Newly renovated rooms .friendly staff .
Underwater staffed in the bar in afternoon .
Very helpful and friendly staff excellent breakfast
Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, newly decorated bedrooms, very comfy beds, and lovely bathroom, very friendly staff Food in the restaurant was overall very good ,some of our party had steak pie and they differed in how much meat in each of them but very tasty, the desserts were very nice too
Two of our party had a dog friendly room and it was dated,we were told that they are refurbishing all the rooms at different stages so it would be done soon. I had booked to go in the dining room for my and my sisters bdays, when I went to look in,I asked where we were sitting, the young member of staff told me we were not sitting in the dining room as we had a dog,I had told the reception we were not bringing the dog in when I booked the table and I specifically asked for the dining room, she said sorry but they had other people having birthdays so no space for us! I then complained and asked to see the manager,of course they weren't working that day,I had booked this well in advance so felt annoyed about it all. The young member of staff said she would try and fit us into the room if possible which I said ok if you can, obviously not her fault at all,we were put on a nice table and all that was ok in the end,I thought she would be a great member of staff for the future as I found out she had only been there a week and after a shaky start she resolved our problem The service was very slow it took an hour for our pre ordered meal to come, maybe they need more staff in the kitchen ?
The hotel was located in a quiet area. The room was beautiful, had all the amenities anyone could want and it was spotless. With the bar and restaurant on site it made for a perfect stay. All the staff were lovely, the customer service, waiters, cook and manager all made time to chat and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be recommending our stay to friends and family.
There was nothing to dislike, we loved our stay and will be booking again in the near future.
Beautiful property set in lovely grounds with only a short walk to Wrea Green
There were two weddings over The weekend & we didn’t get any sleep what so ever as smokers stood outside our bedroom window talking till 2,45 in the morning. This matter should have been felt with as it’s unacceptable. Sad as the staff at The Hotel are lovely food is excellent & the rooms are very clean. This should have been a nice rest for my husband who has cancer & instead we have come home shattered. Absolutely fowl language by the wedding party is most unacceptable.
All said in the above.
Beautiful setting Welcoming / friendly staff Lovely hotel Room always nice

The hotel was in a good country location but within an easy walking distance of the lovely village of Wrea Green. Our room had very recently been refurbished to a high standard and exceeded our expectations. We had a Sunday roast in the restaurant which was delicious and served by friendly staff.
Having traveled a long distance, I was disappointed that there was no EV charger.
Friendly staff, comfy bed, good breakfast
Some very minor issues eg hot water took ages to come through tap (although shower was quick), no shelving in bathroom for toiletries, no fan in bathroom meaning lots of steam.
Perfect location for what we needed. Stayed in a newly refurbished bedroom which was done to a very good standard.
We thought the menu was quite limited in the restaurant.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Good shower and nice shampoo and soaps.
The room was newly refurbished but there were no instructions how to use the facilities - the lighted mirror (lots of time spent trying to turn it off, we found the isolation switch to the bathroom fan. There is very limited space to hang and dry 4 towels. No EV charging point on site We felt that it was over priced given the renovation work going on around us
The property itself and friendly staff
Nothing
Ownership changed at the end of 2025 and an extensive renovation of the guest rooms is underway. We had one of the newly renovated rooms and it was gorgeous and very well appointed ; truly massive and comfortable bed, climate controlled room, large shower including overhead "rain" fitting, huge 65" TV. The hotel is on the edge of a protected village centre and is well off a rural road. It is very quiet at night, no traffic noise what so ever. There is plenty of parking. We only had continental breakfast which was excellent and filling with lots of choice. Did not have dinner on this occasion as we had commitments elsewhere but previous experiences of stays would suggest that it would be good.
No shower shelf for toiletries but we understand that observation had already been pointed out and would be rectified.
The room was lovely The staff were pleasant The breakfast was excellent
The only negative for me was the bed was to soft and the duvet was to heavy for summer..
We had room 19 which had just been refurbished it was immaculate so comfortable and very clean the refurbishment had been very well thought out
We loved it all
Immaculate, lovely staff and in a wonderful location.
Lovely hotel , the staff are superb, Lewis on the bar and Caroline in reception make you feel very welcome , breakfast was great and dining here is a pleasure .
Great location. Lovely original features. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
Although having major refurbishment, didn’t spoil stay. Was upgraded to a suite. Very friendly staff who recognise us as returning guests
Nothing
Lovely place, room was brilliant.
Obviously the renovation work but that couldn't be avoided and you have to accept it's going to make the hotel even better.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. The rooms were unique and the location was very tranquil, perfect for a nice break.
Great hotel,attentive staff,nice room,good breakfast
Nothing
All staff really friendly & helpful especially the ladies on reception. Hotel lovely, clean & warm atmosphere with lots of character. Lovely choice for breakfast with all the little extras, also lovely & presented well. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you!
Only 2 small things - took a while to work out how to unplug the sink, then realised behind the tap (little sign might be helpful for others). Couldn't get the room temperature warm on unit so just turned off because blowing cold.
Staff and location was amazing
The only issue I had was there was building work going on in the hotel which wasn't mentioned when booking. It runs 8am till 6pm on week days. It's not the end of the world but it may bother others
The location. The friendly staff and overall feel of the hotel made it a great place to stay. The shortcut to the village was good to know. In fact a member of staffshowed us the way.
The room was plenty of space gorgeous bathroom which had a bath and a shower
Nothing not to like
Traditional decor
All good
The property exceeded my expectations on every level. From the fantastic staff especially Caroline (evening receptionist) to the absolute cleanliness, there was not one singe aspect of this Hotel that I could call into question. Will definitely be returning to stay here again the next time I visit Lytham
There was nothing of note that I could say I was not impressed with
Beautiful setting. Nice and peaceful and fantastic looking building. With an interesting interior with excellent period features. Food very very good and a nice wine list.
Nothing worth commenting on.
Beautiful character property in lovely surroundings. Nicely appointed room, clean & comfortable.
The table and chairs sited directly in front of the wardrobe do a bit of room rearrangement needed.
Lovely comfortable room
Nothing
Staff excellent
Stayed in new refurbished room very nice just two concerns for me , entry to shower corner tiles no tile edge trim tiles been cut sharp edge? Inside en-suite door been filled round handle not been sanded n decorated, seems petty but new owner paying for a refurbishment needs sorting 👍🏻
The staff were lovely and attentive
It is currently a building site. They gave us one of the old rooms, yet to be renovated in the block were building was in progress. The noise was awful, the room eerie and not fit for guests.
Warm welcome, clean comfortable room excellent food.....what more could you want?
Clean, good location and easy parking
It was beautiful, lots of wood panelling and beautiful furniture in the bar and restaurant.
Nothing to fault
Lovely place to stay, staff were incredible
Fabulous refurbished bedroom
Breakfast. Buffet table a little sparse in selection, only one waitress so service slow , tea and coffee limited and now self serve.
Delicious breakfast comfortable beds
Location was nice
The staff were absolutely amazing catelyn on reception went above and beyond when we checked in couldn't fault her and Lewis in the restaurant is an amazing guy he were so professional and made sure everything were alright for us
Lovely place, great location, great team and really good food!!
The bedroom was clean and had everything we needed. Our breakfast was good on both mornings - lots of fresh fruits, croissants etc., plus a good choice of freshly cooked breakfasts. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming.
The hotel could do with a refurb. throughout, which I believe is about to happen.
Location and setting. The hotel Dining Room is lovely.
Dinner in the evening was a bit stodgy, but breakfast was very good. There was a frequent clicking sound in our Bathroom all night
Lovely hotel with very cosy and oldschool decor. Very well set up for venue hire but also works as a basecamp hotel. (Looking forward to seeing future plans) Fabulous bar area. Good breakfast and decent dinner or walkable distance to the local village pub. Rooms were very clean and cosy!
Could have had some TV or something basic for some evening entertainment.
We were kindly offered an upgrade to a family room The single beds in the room were beds just for children - not adults !! Beds were so uncomfortable , Awful WiFi reception in the room as well
Perfect stay The steak & Ale pie was fantastic
Nothing
Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, Hotel setting is lovely Staff are very friendly and accommodating
The only negatives we had is that the room had a bath with a shower in and we prefer a shower cubicle . And we find the evening menu a bit limited although food served is lovely
One of our favourite hotels. Always friendly and a peaceful setting
Nothing
The property is a lovely old house in the middle of the countryside and set in lovely well kept grounds. It is away from traffic noise and has the peace and quiet needed to balance modern life. Our bedroom appeared recently decorated and had all the amenities as described. The hotel smells amazing with diffusers at intervals throughout the hotel. Staff were polite and attentive and made our stay very comfortable. The food was excellent with portion sizes very generous.
The menu although lovely would benefit from having more options and perhaps a choice of coffee’s after the evening meal as it would have been nice to have a cappuccino etc. The dining room also appeared a little dusty in places. If I was to be really picky I would also mention that the beds in our twin room were very close together, an issue only because I was staying with my Mum and not my partner.
Staff very helpful
Ther could have been a second bedside light and the poached eggs and avocado were rather dry
Great character house
Room was clean but a bit tired
Lovely hotel, great breakfast, very pleasant staff lovely big room, well equipped
Dinner could have been better, menu is minimal in choice, felt as though we were sidelined a little because they had a party of people at the same time, dinner is a little basic ie and no special board is available, breakfast is good but dinner requires a bit more attention considering the price
Location
Everything! Lovely location. Beautiful room (especially the family room which my daughter, son-in-law and two children occupied), characterful building, exceptionally clean and excellent staff. Even the weather was perfect!
There was nothing at all to dislike.
Location and the bed... very comfortable
Low staffing levels and dark wood furniture in bedroom
Very good choice and quick service. Friendly staff and tasty food.
Great staff very helpful and accommodating. Food was superb beautifully cooked and presented. Fabulous location. Couldn't fault the Villa in any way.
Nothing
Beautiful property in beautifully manicured setting. Property has character and charm. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the roasted cauliflower soup! Nice surprise was no car parking charges!
On EE, I had no signal at all so something to be aware of in this location
Beautiful property, quiet and peaceful area. Great breakfast and comfy beds
Nothing
Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Very good food. Air conditioning unit in our room was easy to work and extremely responsive unlike those in many other hotels we have stayed in. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable weekend stay.
A small point. Given that the hotel was not terribly busy, the service in the restaurant and bar was a little leisurely at times but this did not change how much we enjoyed our stay.
Very quaint and unique
Maybe more gardens about it but there was nice woodland to walk through
Lovely friendly staff , food was great , room was spotless
N/a
Even though it has recently changed ownership and different staff it was very well organised
Not so much a dislike but the evening meal menu was quite limited, but I'm sure that's only a temporary thing due to new staff and owners
Superb evening meal and breakfast.
The only point I didn't see on the booking or informed was that when dinner is included, it actually limits you to £35 pp - not a major issue as the food was exceptional anyway...more a small point.
We had a fantastic stay , the staff were brilliant they looked after us all day and night and the morning after the breakfast was superb.
Everything.
The heater blew cold air throughout the night even when set on 18.
Not a lot
The smell of damp and mustyness
