Reviewed Aug 20, 2026La plage est splendide avec un coucher de soleil à tomber, les bungalows tout en bois ont vu sur mer et le restaurant est très bon. C'est isolé, on est comme des robinsons dans un lieu paradisiaque. Nous avons marché jusqu'au village (45 minutes) pour faire du kayak dans les mangroves puis nous sommes allés nous baigner dans une cascade. On est ravi de notre séjour!
Comme on est loin du village et des activités, on est captif du restaurant, et il faut marcher 15 minutes pour rejoindre l'hôtel mais c'est précisé dans le descriptif. C'est un peu isolé, dans la nature, et c'est pour cela qu'on vient!
2/3 petits détails pour améliorer encore plus le séjour: des patères et savon dans les bungalows, des lumières solaires sur le terrain.

Aucun accueil à notre arrivée, pas de verre d’eau ou autre boisson reflétant l’hospitalité Cambodgienne que l’on a reçue dans tous les autres lieux.
Aucune explication sur le fonctionnement de l’établissement, les possibilités d’excursion ou de découverte à proximité. Quand nous avons demandé comment aller à pied à la cascade, la gérante nous a répondu, demandez à des habitants si vous en trouvez sur le chemin !
Les bungalows sont très rudimentaires, aucune étagère pour poser ses affaires, même pas de savon pour pouvoir se laver, les bungalows état à l’écart une lampe torche serait là bienvenue pour rejoindre le restaurant en pleine nuit (18H30).
La cuisine est simple mais ne correspond pas à la qualité de la cuisine Cambodgienne.
Quand vous etes la bas vous etes piègé, si vous écourtez votre séjour pour cause de mauvais temps qui ne permet aucune activité bateau qui était la raison principale de notre venue, on vous fera payer les tuk tuk pour venir et repartir cela nous a coûté 50 dollars pour 4 ! Faites bien vos comptes, une chambre pas chère au départ, mais sans petits dej et supplément transport hors de prix , il y a bien mieux à prix raisonnables sur l’île.
Belle plage sauvage mais il y a beaucoup de chiens errants, pas rassurant.
Venez à la journée découvrir Lonely Beach mais ne vous faites pas piéger comme nous à cause de commentaires elogieux sur la réalité de ce médiocre établissement.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Die Kommunikation vor der Buchung war schon mal Extra Klasse ebenfalls der Pick Up am vereinbarten Treffpunkt. Sehr gut hat mir am Bungalow selbst das Bad gefallen das an 2 Seiten etwas offen ist dadurch zieht die Feuchtigkeit schnell ab..sehr gut durchdacht!... man muss sich bewusst sein das man den letzten Kilometer zu Fuß unterwegs ist, da das Tuk Tuk keine Chance hat an das Endziel zu gelangen aber der gute Fahrer trägt das Gepäck bis zur Rezeption... jetzt bei Regenzeit sollten selbst geübte Motorrad Fahrer 3x darüber nachdenken ob sie die letzten 3km bewältigen können und wollen..es ist ne reine Schlammpiste... DAS PARADIES IST SCHWER ERREICHBAR ( BUDDHA SEI DANK) der Rücktransport war sogar noch besser..ich bin los gelaufen und habe vereinbart das der Tuk Tuk Fahrer mein Gepäck abholt aber jemand von Lilys Bungalow ist mit dem Moped hinter her samt Rucksack und hat mich aufgegabelt und bis dahin gebracht wo die Tuk Tuks normalerweise halten..hat keine 5 Minuten gedauert und schon ging's weiter..ich persönlich empfinde das als sehr sehr außergewöhnlich und 15* für den Kunden Dienst... Der deutsche Kunden Service egal bei was sollte sich mal an so etwas ein Beispiel nehmen (unmöglich in Deutschland, da happerts schon am Einfallsreichtum)
Leider ist für mich als Langzeit Reisender das Paradies für längere Zeit unbezahlbar... aber ich kann die Preise im Restaurant nachvollziehen wenn ich daran denke was für einen Aufwand die Menschen dort betrieben haben und weiterhin betreiben um uns verwöhnte Touristen zu befriedigen...Hut hab!!!

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Die Lage ist absolut Traumhaft. Zwar weit weg vom nächsten Dorf - daher dringend ein Scooter erforderlich. Uns hat ausserdem das einfache gefallen, kein Ventilator / Klimaanlage im Zimmer ebenso kein Stromanschluss - nur Meeresluft. :-)
Ebenso die Mitarbeiter / innen & Köchinnen super nett/lieb gewesen. Wir hatten immer total leckeres Essen von der Karte bekommen.
Und der Sonnenuntergang & die einsame Ruhe mega. Wir kommen wieder.

Reviewed May 24, 2026L’emplacement juste à côté de la meilleure plage de l’île (certes difficile d’accès mais ça vaut largement le coup), la nourriture du restaurant qui était vraiment qualitative (un peu cher mais comme partout sur l’île)
L’accueil du propriétaire (très antipathique) qui était par ailleurs bourré et drogué pendant tout le séjour et supplément musique électro toute la journée sans demander si ça nous dérange ou pas. Alors oui il propose des bières pendant tout le séjour ce qui est adorable, mais ça donne le sentiment d’acheter le silence des clients ce qui est inadmissible. Les autres membres du staff sont eux adorables.

Reviewed May 5, 2026I really enjoyed my stay here. The sunset in front of the bungalow was amazing. The boat trip was the most fun, with friendly and funny owners. They took us to Pineapple Island, which was a beautiful spot for snorkeling. The captain was great—he’s a local guy and knows a lot about fishing.
The staff were always attentive and happy to help with anything I needed, always with a smile 😊 I don’t even know how to describe how I felt staying here.

Reviewed May 2, 2026Es war ein Traum. Wir haben schon öfters nah am Strand in schlichten Bungalows geschlafen, aber das gehört absolut zu den top Plätzen! Ruhig, schöner Strand, bei Neumond fluoreszierendes plankton...da es dort recht dunkel ist. Essen gut und grosse Portionen. Viele Hängematten am Strand. Mittlerweile kann ein Tuk tuk (12 dollar) fast direkt zu den Bungalows fahren. Auch selber mit dem Roller geht (nichts für Fahranfänger), aber locker möglich.
Der Weg zur Unterkunft hat eine Teilstrecke, die bei Regen nicht fahrbar ist, sonst kein Problem. Hat aber direkt mit der Unterkunft nichts zu tun!
Remote island location, quiet and peaceful. exceptional beachfront location! Very welcoming and helpful staff.
At time of visit the menu was a bit limited (not much available).

Le cadre est paradisiaque, on se sent seul sur une plage a l‘autre bout du monde.
Les couchers de soleils y sont sublimes.
Et un grand merci au personnel qui rend l’expérience encore plus incroyable.

On a presque les pieds dans l’eau, tant la plage est proche. Les hôtes font preuve d’une attention remarquable, et le personnel en cuisine est toujours souriant et très compétent , tout était absolument délicieux !

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Lily's Bungalow is exactly what you could want on Lonely Beach -- quiet, close to the sea and mountains, clean and comfortable. It's not a luxury property (nor advertises itself to be) and that's the beauty of it. But if you want a safe and welcoming place to stay close to nature, this is a great place to stay, with just enough protection from mosquitos at night. The owners and staff are so sweet and helpful, which just added to the stunning beauty of the beach. It's not necessarily easy to get to Lonely Beach, so visitors need to arrange a ride or prepare to drive on a moto on sand (don't do this if you're not experienced; I saw a lot of backpackers fall). If you're looking for a little time by yourself or with a friend/partner near the sea, this is a great place to go.
I don't recommend people come here if you're going to spend time on your phone - they don't have outlets in the bungalow so you have to rely on a solar panel, and that's not always guaranteed. But you shouldn't need it all all, just enjoy the beach!

The road to the bungalows is a bit tricky but you can manage to go with scooter.

Le personnel a été toujours au top, a l'écoute, a trouver des solutions.

Hormis l’envahissement de la plage l’après midi , le lieu est très calme , la plage quasi déserte et c’est super !
Pas d’endroit où se poser sur la terrasse , juste un banc et un hamac , un petit tabouret permettrait de passer un peu de temps pr lire ou autre
Les touristes qui traversent le lieu en se postant devant les bungalows pr voir à l’intérieur voire même qui montent jusque sur la terrasse !
Sinon rien , on est prévenu du confort minimaliste et c’est ça qui fait le charme du lieu

The bedding could be better and the net had a few holes in it there wasn’t any shampoo or shower gel which was disappointing. And I feel it definitely needs a fan and a pug socket or more available in the restaurant as I couldn’t get a space for mine for some time . The location is what it says lonley beach, but the fire pit was nice in the evening.

Nous devions passer 4 nuits dans cet hôtel, et comme l’informe le message reçu sur booking le taxi aller est gratuit. Le tuktuk vient nous chercher au port et nous laisse sur le bord de la route car route non praticable donc on doit marcher 35 min dans la boue, sans réellement connaître le chemin, chaussures défoncée (photos à l’appuie).
On arrive à l’hôtel, endroit sublime, on n’est pas accueille comme si notre arrivée n’était pas attendue ? Une fois installées, on aimerait dîner. Cependant, on nous informe qu’ils n’ont rien à manger à part du riz et des œufs (en sachant qu’il n’y a aucun restaurant dans un périmètre de 35min de marche dans la boue et sous la pluie). La commande de nourriture est censée arrivée le lendemain.
Au petit déjeuner, pareil, un menu tout entier pour nous dire qu’il n’y a que des pancakes. On a du attendre 17h30 pour manger notre premier repas de la journée car la commande n’était toujours pas arrivée… quand on sait qu’il n’y a aucune infrastructures aux alentours et des clients, on essaie de s’organiser.
Nous décidons donc d’annuler nos 2 dernières nuit et nous informons le gérant qui accepte gentiment. Le jour du départ, on nous informe que le tuktuk retour sera a 25$ car on est resté 2 nuits au lieu de 3 donc on doit payer le tuktuk d’il y a 2 jours ? Un peu scandaleux. Le gérant n’assume pas ses décisions et laisse ses employés répondre de ses actes…
Dommage car l’endroit a vraiment un potentiel énorme étant donné le cadre et l’environnement.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2025Nous y sommes allés pendant la saison des pluies : nous étions les seul·es et cette partie de l’île était assez exposée au vent. Mais si vous recherchez tranquillité et une expérience façon Robinson Crusoé, c’est parfait ! Les bungalows sont simples mais confortables, équipés de moustiquaires et d’une salle de bain individuelle, (a douche se fait au seau). Le lieu est magnifique, entouré de nombreux cocotiers dont on peut se servir librement. La cuisine est excellente, aussi bien pour les plats khmers que pour les plats “western” : nous nous sommes régalé·es !
J’aimerais beaucoup y retourner à la saison sèche et faire le tour de bateau proposé par le locataire ! Ça a l’air vraiment super !

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025Expérience Robinson Crusoé de 5 nuits en famille, avec des enfants de 7, 11 et 15 ans. On a adoré les baignades au coucher du soleil, l’excursion en bateau, la pêche à la ligne et le BBQ des poissons pêchés. Mais aussi la balade jusqu’à la cascade et la visite de l’île en scooter. Et en plus l’accueil et nourriture était fantastique.
Petit bémol les mouches de sables.

On a fait la sortie snorkeling et pêche et on a mangé notre poisson le soir. C’était fantastique.
J’ai même pu commander un repas d’anniversaire pour mon ami avec poisson sauce riz aux légumes gâteau et vin blanc !

The concept behind Lily’s Beach Bungalows is truly charming: wooden huts, eco-friendly and completely surrounded by the wild nature of Koh Rong. If you’re looking for a few days of total disconnection and simplicity, this place could feel like a little paradise. The bungalows are basic but cozy, the staff was always kind, and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. There are no power outlets in the rooms (which we were aware of), but you can charge your devices at the reception.
That said, there are several things to be aware of. First of all, the location is extremely remote: to get there, you have to walk quite a long way along a rough and uneven path, sometimes passing stray dogs or even buffalo. Someone helps carry your bags and later picks you up with a scooter, but it’s still a long and challenging walk.
The restaurant had very limited options — most items on the menu were unavailable, perhaps due to low season. The beach in front of the property, which looks stunning in pictures, was unfortunately very dirty and covered in trash. Also, this was the only place in our entire Cambodia–Vietnam trip where we weren’t asked for our passports, which felt a bit strange.
Another important note is the presence of many dogs in the area. The ones around the bungalows were friendly and used to guests, but when walking further down the beach we encountered three larger dogs near another property that barked and followed us back to the bungalows — something that also happened to another couple staying there.
In short, this is a place for travelers who are truly ready to disconnect from comfort, accept a raw and imperfect natural setting, and spend a few days doing absolutely nothing but relaxing. It’s definitely not suitable for families or anyone looking for flexibility, safety, or convenience.

Reviewed May 30, 2025Spacious bungalows at Lonely Beach. It is a very quiet place which welcomes to relax. The place is directly next to the beach where you can go for a walk, swim or snorkel. They offer good food options. The staff is great and always received us with a smile.

Reviewed May 29, 2025The marvellous snorkling / freedive access nearby is one of the top contenders for Koh Rong. (Both at north and west/south side of the Lonely Beach are excellent.
For those who are good swimmer you can swim(along the shoreline) to a small island(Dog island?) nearby(3-4km away. It is nearly attached to main island by very shallow path of boulders and coral reef. Once there see even more amazing underwater flora and fauna! You can see the island when viewing satellite image on google map. It is also easily located by eyesight from Lonely beach, look for a large-ish yellowish house with a long pier (National committee for maritime security). It is on the west side of the "shallow Lonely Beach bay".
Lily's Beach Bungalows has friendly and helpful staff and owners whom I believe try their best to please guests. Like, they offered us free coconut(s).
I mentioned to owners that they present misleading photos to future guests and they corrected it the same day, that is positive.
Lack of available power; Every guest bungalow (as of May/June 2025) lacks power outlets, there is battery powered lights though.
The owners tries to have a powerbank available at daytime in restaurant. That works while the amount of guests are low AND you having the right cables with you as well (one powerbank had only USB-A outputs, two of my chargers ports has USB-C only! (I had only had one USB-A to USB-C cable with me but 3 USB-C devices to charge each day! I had to plan this interleaved charging times throughout the day and was forced to leave my devices unsupervised for hours at a time while I'm out.
This situation lead me to some anxiety; I had 5 devices I needed to keep charged! You have to be willing to leave your phones, tablets, wifi-hotspot and cameras out of your supervision for hours! Or, babysit the charging process for hours each day, sometimes you are forced to wait for others to finish their charging so you can get a free compatible port.
Because it was unsupervised one of my devices cable and charging port was bent badly and damaged by some rough handling. I wasn't there so I have clue who is to blame.
This what you can / should expect when there is such a frenzy for charging and everyone wants priority.
The replenishment of ingredients; the food menu was limited to start with. When further ingredients went unavailable like cinnamon or banana it gets further worse.That lack of cinnamon lead me to cut out pancakes for breakfast for 4 days in a row! (Positive note: Lily's Beach guests: please try their pancakes they are so good!)
No ripe bananas: again that hit the pancakes and atleast 2 of the shakes/smoothies (positive note: their banana-chocolate shake is absolutely delicious and has the best shake-like creamy rich texture and consistency of the bunch offered).
No fans in Bungalows. Well, no 230V = no fans = Bungalow is now a sweat lodge.

Reviewed May 18, 2025The beach was really nice, the bed was really comfortable, the staff is nice as well, the spaghetti carbonara is good, they have a restaurant-bar, you can smoke, it’s a chill spot to have lunch/dinner or a beer, it’s calm.
I didn’t know it was so far from everything. There is nothing nearby : no shop, no civilization, only one restaurant on the beach. If I had knew, I would have bought more things (drinks, snacks, mosquito repellent, …). If you search peace, it’s here.
If you want to go buy something, don’t expect to order a taxi, cause the road is so complicated that you have to walk 40min (a really complicated road) or order a motorbike from Lilly’s so they take you to the real road. We’ve arrived during the night and they asked 2 drunk people to take us on their motorbike to go to Lilly’s Bungalows, the road was so bad, we didn’t want to do the same thing twice. For those, like me, who don’t really like motorbikes, it will be hard to move around there.
There was no electricity : you need to bring a powerbank and they charge it for you during the day in the village. One day, we gave them our powerbank so they could charge it, it came back with an empty battery… The same day we were supposed to take a ferry and then a 10 hours bus. Due to this incident, we were left with 10% batteries on our phones for this big trip. It was long. If you have a big trip planned, make sure you explain them well how your powerbank needs to be charged.

The location is beautiful, in lonely beach, a quiet and clean beach in the north of the island. The staff is super kind. The Bungalow is comfortable and chill. The fact that there’s no energy and internet was amazing to really connect to the nature and relax. The restaurant offers good options with good prices during the whole day.
Because there’s no electricity, there isn’t also a fan. In some nights with no wind can be very hot and humid. Wasn’t a problem for me, but just be sure of what you’re booking to not complain later.

Think it is ideal for couples and people who can sit on beach for hours. I found it boring with nothing to do. Also don't forget the inspect repellent they are vicious.

Reviewed Apr 5, 2025We stayed in Lily’s for two nights and just wish we booked it for longer. The place is amazing, so peaceful and dreamy. There is a little bar and restaurant where delicious food is served. We are really happy we got to stay there for 2 nights. 100% recommended the best experience ever in Cambodia.
The beach is beautiful, and the location was the main reason we booked this place. However, we often found the woman at the reception unfriendly, and it seemed like many of our requests were a burden to her. This made the experience less enjoyable. Also, the bathroom was not completely clean
