I thought the guest house was truly magical. You’re staying in the heart of a fishing village in an accommodation on stilts off the water. Stunning sunrise and a fantastic view throughout the day. The owner is very kind and very communicative during booking prices and can help with what ever you need. I loved it

The guest house is right in a local village, so its a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are beautiful and the view is amazing! Friendly staff and yummy food.

Be prepared for a bit of a long ride to get there! Anyway, it's a beautiful path and scenery.

This place is special🙏If you’re looking for a palace or generic white painted walls go somewhere else! Tastefully decorated big rooms using driftwood and shells , gaps in the flooring so you can see the sea lapping underneath. Beautiful big deck with comfy seats over the sea and you can jump off and swim right there👏 The food is the best in Cambodia, the fish amok is delicious, and the omelettes exquisite, pancakes and smoothies all at Khmer prices🙏 Lonely Beach is a half hour hike away, pristine sand ,palms and a clean clear sandy beach

Nous avons pris une chambre avec deux lit pour deux personnes. Une seule couverture et un seul lit de fait. L’hôte nous a dit que si nous voulions une couverture et un deuxième drap c’était un supplément!!! Alors que nous avions demandé une chambre avec deux lits séparées!!!

The host was super welcoming. The place was full of charm especially the living room on a platform above the water. The bedroom was also very comfy and pretty. We had an amazing sleep there.

Love the place. My room was big and spacious, the people are lovely and the food is great. Easily provides the best ocean view sitting on the long balcony at sunset. And if you are there at low tide during the day it's simply stunning. Some added excitement on my last night the village cargo boat returning from Sihanoukville got stuck right at the balcony with guys in the water trying to get it moving. Not something you see often.

L’expérience en famille était sympas mais malheureusement pas de wifi durant notre séjour. Lieux rustiques. Et de l’autre côté de l’île soit 25 min de l’embarcadère.

The place is an authentic floating house with panoramic views of the sea and islands around.. located in a small fishing village where you can see the local culture and feel safe. Mr Hun is an amazing host and chef, so you can get everything you need here. Simple but very comfortable, affordable and super peaceful

A beautiful location in a charming little fishing village , perfect for rest and relaxation. The rooms are simple but clean and have the essentials you need. Every morning the owner made me a great coffee, and in the evenings his wife prepared the best vegetable soup. For exploring the island, it’s ideal to rent a scooter — you can do so right upon arrival at Longset Pier, and if you don’t have too much luggage, you can head straight to the guesthouse. Overall, I truly recommend this place

Very nice and cozy stay in a quiet part of the island. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The guesthouse is beautifully preserved and decorated, you can feel the heart that’s been put into it. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. We had a great stay - thank you!

Amazing experience! Love the boats coming in and out of the river and Epic Sunrise and View! Sweet Family who runs the place! Hon was an Excellent host and the kids were a delight to play with! Kayaking around the point and upriver at Sunrise was a High Point in my trip! Food was Delicious!

This is on the pricier side in terms of Cambodia and Koh Rong, but it’s so worth it. All about the location here, a fishing village in the north of the Island away from the chaos. It’s stunning. Rooms are also large with great bathrooms and a surprisingly awesome shower. Food is fantastic and I couldn’t tell you a more beautiful place I’d stayed. Stay here.

Amazing hidden part of the island. The view from the guesthouse is spectacular. The life here is chill and slow its easy to spend the whole day just reading relaxing on the terrace. But you can find great activities in the area like kayaking and a few great beaches. The owners are really nice and the food is home made really tasty food.

The location and chilled out vibe were a real treat. Don't stay here expecting a 5 star experience. Enjoy the laid back vibe and beautiful location, have a swim, hire a scooter and eat the food cooked in-house. Fantastic

The only issue we had were some of the guests were smoking weed and while we are open minded about this, the smell was overpowering and the silly behaviour from said guests was irritating. Go somewhere else to have a smoke please!

Such a magical and special place, everything in this guesthouse is made with love, the outdoor area, the food, the atmosphere. Hun and his family are lovely and always helpful. I spent more than a week here and every day when I came back from exploring I felt like I had returned home. It's peaceful, the view is breathtaking and I can look at it for hours. Prek Svay is such a small, beautiful village, I would love to stay longer. The secluded beach is a 40 minute walk from here and you can get back by motorcycle cab. The beds are so comfortable, I slept very well. The only thing I suggest is to renew the bunkbeds in the dorm as they are quite loud. The place above the beach/sea and the view from there are very beautiful. The food was very good. The owner kind and supportive. The room was big and sufficient.

Be aware that the if there is more wind/higher waves that during high tide some water can come through the wooden floor. The wooden footbridge to the house needs some renewal.

Beautiful location with a great deck area to relax and soak in the views, as well as enjoy the sunrise over the sea. The hosts were very friendly & the food delicious. We enjoyed visiting Lonely Beach during the day, a lovely quiet beach which is within walking distance (around 40 mins).

It is sad to see that the nearby beach areas have so much rubbish washed up on the shoreline - it seems there is less investment in cleaning up of less touristy areas.

This is the best hostel I've stayed at in Cambodia! The owners are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The area is very peaceful, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. And the food – it's simply the best I've tasted in Cambodia! Highly recommend staying here

The staff is pretty bad. Grumpy and not nice. The manager almost doesn’t want to give you infos, not very organised. It is far from everything’ motorbikes are overpriced at the hostel. But I guess it’s also on all the island. Toilets not very practical

The dorms were good value and although no ac it was cool enough with a fan and good mosquito net. the owner is the absolute coolest, and a very interesting guy, so definitely spend some time talking to him. he also has the best music and good reviews

Everything. The view from the balcony when I arrived with the tide out was incredible. For someone who doesn't really care about the view from my accom here was on another level. Could sit there for ages just looking out at the water. The food from the ressie was so good, Walking around the village was amazing, even coming across an otter on the narrow road. The room was big and even tho there is no air cond or hot water it didnt make any difference. Tho it was cool at night and so hot during the day that hot water wasnt needed. Am sure will definitely come back.

The location and the staff was just awesome. The rooms are very cute, right above the water. One has to know that the rooms are basic (as most of the accommodations are on the island). However if you can live without an AC then this place is just the right one for you as it offers a cozy outside space and a view you cannot miss.

Host and staff were friendly , and room had a shower.

Not the fault of the host , but it was very loud throughout the night from dogs barking, loud fishing boats and other guests moving around which unfortunately meant we didn’t sleep well once across our 5 nights. Also a brighter light in the room would have been helpful as had to use torches a lot.

Oh what a beautiful place this was. We stayed in both the dorm and the private room and it was just wonderful. The location on top of the water with fantastic views, the relax area, the comfy beds, the bucket shower, the coffee and the always changing but almost always positive and friendly people around made it really extra special. The internet was also good enough for working and there’s a delish cheapish restaurant nearby.

Firefly guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. I planned on only staying two nights, but kept extending. This is a place you don’t want to leave. Waking up at the riverside, having a swim and just watching the boats go by.. absolute bliss. The owner and his family are also so friendly and accommodating, and the food is so good and fresh. They also can make their dishes vegan. This is the perfect place is you want somewhere to just relax and take it all in. Really loved it there!

I guess the only thing is that the Wi-Fi stopped working after 2 days. But when the Wi-Fi was working it was really good. A great place to work remotely while watching the sea.

First of all the staff and family are always available to help. Incredible view for sunrise and sunset. Sleeping over the water was so peaceful, nice rooms and the deck is the main star of the place to meet people and to relax.

Prices for food and drink are a little high, but I understand it because of the remote place.

You can't really believe how beautiful the view is from the terrace here. You can just sit and watch the local boats coming and going! Nice location, out of the way, and very quiet. The staff and locals are very friendly, there are a few other shops and food places nearby. The food at firefly is excellent and well priced. Lonely beach is 45 mins walk away, and really worth the trip. Beautiful and virtually.deserted. When you book a room, the manager will send you details of how to get to the village and offer you three options. I chose the village supply boat from Sihanoukville. This costs $7.50 and is a great way to arrive. The supply boat motors past Firefly, then you have a 5 minute walk back. The supply boat leaves from Pier 52 outside the Main Por.t, about 2 KM and 6000 Riel in Tuk Tuk .

The location.

The dorm resembles a ghetto. The main door doesn't lock or shut. There is no lock in the bathroom and it is a common one for all the outside guests who come to hang out. No running flush. The floor is creaky and one can feel it on the bed when others walk around. The food is overpriced. The activities are over priced - a surcharge of $10 is charged per person for no reason. The host tried to take double the amount for the boat ride to the village from Sihnaukville. I had also asked him to keep the bed for one more night which he totally forgot to do. This place is overrated and the only good thing about it is the location and the view.

Authentic wooden house on the water in a traditional fishing village in the north of the island. Cozy atmosphere, everything made out of wood. Nice view on the sea. Kayak available for free. Nice staff. Scooters also available for renting and it's probably the best way to explore the island. Close to Lonely Beach, a stunning beach with also lot of shade (10 minutes by scooter or 1 hour walking). Food was traditional, simple but good. The place is super quiet at night, with nothing to do closeby, which we really enjoyed. But if you're more a party type it's probably not your place since going to the main village in the south take about half an hour and at night feels even more.

Rooms are basic, which is fine, but with really a little effort could be better. Light in the room is extremely low, which is not the best when you like reading. But you can read outside of course...

It's hard to list everything I liked about this place! Firstly, the location is truly out of this world, on top of the water in a beautiful and quaint fishing village with the mangroves. The sunrise is particularly beautiful if you can be bothered to get up early. Secondly, the staff are exceptionally kind and helpful! Especially the owner, he made use feel right at home and was happy to help with anything we needed, such as renting a motorbike and kayak. Also, the food was all very delicious and affordable with a few other places in the village too. Mainly, what my friend and I loved the most was the peace! It's such a small and quiet homestay so we felt relaxed and chill, but we also made some really cool friends here too.

I watched sunset and sunrise from the same property. Slept there listening to sea wave sounds. Very relaxing place. Close to beautiful snorkeling spots. Stuffs at the guesthouse were very helpful.

The location is fantastic, in a small fishing village on far north side of island. Quiet most of the time, far away from the crowds of drunk tourists. Han is a great host, the food is great, and you are only a 45 minute walk from Lonely Beach, one of the nicest spots on the island.

This was such a unique stay in a quirky colourful fishing village. In a stilt house right on the water, the balcony was such a magical place to welcome the morning. Not much to do in the village, but walking distance to lonely beach where we spent most of our days

I loved that place, it is very remote so I would recommend gettin a scooter for 10 dol from Koh Touch or Long Beach at get there with it. It is quite remote so may not be suitable for everyone but it was lovely.

Island. Everything expensive, everything far from here. I was unlucky, the weather was bad and it was difficult to leave island.

What a lovely spot right on the water, perfect for the sunrise, watching a storm roll in or relaxing with a couple of beers. Wifi was excellent which we weren’t expecting and the staff were lovely. There was a good fan in our room. Lonely beach not too far on the bike, 20 mins on a rough road.

The stagnant fresh water that you shower with using a bucket was swimming with worms… maybe should be emptied and cleaned once in a while. The noise from the barking dogs at night was tiresome at points.. the rubbish in this area is very bad :(

At first, I hesitated to come to Firefly Guesthouse because it takes a while to get there but it was totally worth it! It’s way less touristic and much quieter than in the south of Koh Rong but there are still fun things to do (like kayaking for 7.50$ for the whole day, I did this and discovered many completely empty and beautiful beaches to take a rest at). The whole family (including cat Ming Ming) were incredibly nice and their food was amazing! There’s free WiFi now and it works well.

Perfect remote place for a traveler who wants to calm down with some possible activities still. Great host couple, they cook best food I've had in Asia.

The place is really eco friendly, almost everything made of wood. You live inside the preaek svay village among the locals. The hosts Han and his wife are really awesome people and very supportive. They help you with everything including how to reach the place, booking boat,, renting a bike or traveling in the island. They have small restaurant cum kitchen available there, and provide you food at very reasonable prices. The place is really good for you if you want to stay away from people and world for a while and stay close to nature only.

I liked everything but it's important to mention that the place is too far from center, arriving here can be tricky but Han tells you all the possible options to reach the place with costs. I came on village's boat that costs 7.5$ from Sihanoukville that was actually a cargo type boat that brings items from city to village. It wasn't very comfortable though and it took 3 hours to reach the island. Plus the place is only good if you want to stay away from the world for a while and live in isolation. No wifi in the place either.

If you want it quiet on Koh Rong, this is your spot!
