Lost Shore Surf Resort

Resort molto bello, con tanti surfisti, sembra di essere in una spiaggia. Bello! Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Ho alloggiato in una capsula lungo l’acqua. La casetta è piccola ma molto carina, c’è la cucina con lavastoviglie. La camera principale spaziosa e il divano letto facile da aprire e pronto all’uso. Bagno spazioso, unica pecca la doccia è senza pareti, c’è solo una tenda ma non ha un bordino per tenere l’acqua quindi si allaga il bagno ma se si sta attenti rimane più circoscritto. È a 10 minuti dall’aeroporto e a 30 minuti dal centro, però attenzione, gli orari degli autobus forniti dal sito non sono corretti, l’autobus non è mai passato. I bolt per il centro ci hanno sempre rifiutato sull’app perché troppo lontano. C’è una fermata a 15 minuti a piedi dal resort, in una stradina che passa in mezzo al boschetto e da lì passa un autobus, il 70, poi si scende alla stazione del paesino e si prende quello per il centro di Edimburgo. Non abbiamo avuto problemi invece al ritorno, dal centro fino al resort con il bolt ci hanno accettato subito il pagamento. Non ci sono autobus per il rientro la sera, l’ultimo è alle 17. Il resort mette a disposizione un servizio taxi (con prezzi alti però). Per visitare il centro alloggerei più vicino forse, invece se volete un appoggio per divertirvi nel surf è perfetto . Ho visto che fanno lezioni di surf, c’è la sauna ecc Unica pecca aldilà dei trasporti è la pulizia. La camera abbastanza pulita, il tavolo da pranzo tutto appiccicoso, e le lenzuola sporche con macchie dappertutto (non abbiamo la certezza se fossero sporche o macchiate ma consigliamo al resort di prestare più attenzione a questo).

Ho prenotato due strutture, una per 7 persone che era meravigliosa: una casa/chalet incantevole nuovissima con tutti i servizi e un alloggio per due persone, che era incantevole.. ma il bagno scomodissimo: con water, lavandino e doccia tutto in un unico quadrato credo di 80 cm. Non sapevo fosse stato così se no non avrei prenotato.

I vialetti del villaggio sono troppo isolati e bui.. in reception non parlano lingue straniere.

This is an excellent place to stay if you need to go to the airport the next day.

We did not know that the bedrooms in the pods were so small; however, they were comfortable and had everything we needed.

The lodge itself was really nice, a modern, clean space, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Close to Edinburgh for trips into the city.

There are only a couple of hilltop lodges that you can actually see the wave pool from, most have no view of it. I don’t understand why you can’t drive up to the hilltop lodges. The road could easily be made wide enough for a single track road for cars, possibly with a traffic light/barrier system going up/down. The surface of the paths at the top of the tarmac road is poor, it is large pieces of gravel which are uncomfortable to walk on, pushing a buggy would be difficult. You have to park in the car park, walk down to reception to check in, then go back past the car park to go up to the lodges. I believe an accommodation check in point is being created at the car park, this would make it easier. Golf buggy rides are available from reception when checking in. I suggest if you are staying in the hilltop lodges, you leave your belongings in your car and pick them up when the golf buggy passes the car park on the way. Take supplies with you when you first arrive (only two dishwasher tablets, a few tea bags, coffee pods, uht milk sachets and minimal toilet roll are provided, no oil, salt, pepper, tinfoil etc) or you will have to carry groceries up to the lodges. There is a decking area outside each lodge, but no outside furniture to sit on, this would be a nice addition. It could be a really good place to stay if a few issues were sorted.

- Brand new spacious and clean cabin with modern furniture (quality reclaimed wood) and amenities. - Great views from the top facing the pool and the the airport glide path from the deck and panoramic windows. - Fireplace helping to get warmer at night. - We enjoyed the surfing class. Instructors were great, capable and helped us to learn fast. - Plenty of parking space with electric chargers. - Walking up the hill to our middle unit took only 5-7 minutes instead of 15. Still a good cardio.

- Booking process was a disaster. Every time I got the confirmation on my request, the price was getting much higher than advertised for no reason. Then next day I could see the original lower price. Repeated again and same result each time while the hotel was trying to make a point that they haven't increased anything. It took me a long call with Booking.com to have it sorted out - Although I made the reservation (all fees and taxes included) weeks in advance, on the day of check in (about 2 weeks after the tax becam effective) the hotel sent me a message requesting additional 5% new city tax payment during the check in. That was clearly against the booking conditions. The tax has been communicated to the hotel owners since early 2026 at least and must have been included in my reservation price that was created mid-2026. Felt very unethical. - While there's asphalt on the uphill route, when you reach the hill it ends and it's only gravel further till you reach the cabin. Coupled with no street lights there, it didn't make the night walk pleasant. Can only imagine how it would be when raining. - A rare case when the the hotel completely rejected the late check in request for 1-2 hours and provided absolutely no extension. So we had to check out at 10 am sharp which isn't the norm. Many properties offer 11 am check outs or later to allow gests to rest. - No blackouts that may not allow to sleep properly in summer as the sunrise is early - We wish there was at least a small table on the patio to enjoy the sunny moments outside - A few issues in the unit like a loud squeaking floors near the bedrooms and a broken shower head holder. - Email responses were mostly prompt, but was impossible to reach on the phone even after trying multiple times on various days

The overall site is good if you're there for the water sports facilities. Its nice and quiet on a night. Bed was comfortable. Quirky tech in room, lights etc.

We stayed in a pod. Massively overpriced! The shower is over the toilet in a tiny space with sloped roof. Im 5'4 petite and found it uncomfortable to shower. The shower floor never dries so after a shower, your toilet stays wet for rest of time. The toilet door is also opaque and you can see absolutely everything through it, no privacy. The cafe lacks any flexibility, eg couldn't add bacon to egg on toast, or remove items from breakfast. Check in is late (4pm) and checkout is 10am, so less time in accommodation you'd generally expect. Felt over priced for the experience. Wouldn't go back.

I was looking for a resort out of the city which gives me connecting links to the city and easy access to attractions around Edinburgh. Its a well managed and maintained property with great views and value for money

Coolest place to stay - largest man made surfing wave in UK, king sized bed with view of water out the front door, quiet location close to airport.

No microwave to heat up the sticky toffee pudding! Bit of a hike from parking to checkin.

We stayed at Lost Shore Resort as a large family group spanning three generations—grandparents, parents, and five sibling families. The resort itself is amazing! The chalets are beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and set in lovely surroundings. The kids absolutely loved watching the planes coming and going from Edinburgh Airport.

The only drawback is the parking setup. The main car park is about a 15-minute walk from the chalets, and the paths between the lodges are covered in rough gravel/loose stones rather than asphalt. Walking on it was quite difficult, especially when lugging heavy groceries and bottles of water all the way to the lodging. Aside from the car park hassle, we had a brilliant stay!

Good location, easy to get into Edinburgh from here. As well as the facilities on this site there is also the climbing facility next door you can explore. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The layout of the site isn’t optimal. The accommodation is practically next to the car park but you have to trundle down a long drive way to the entrance to get in, then all the way back through the site to get to your room. A residents gate to it that out would be useful.

Pas pratique de laisser la voiture si loin de l’hébergement et quand on est arrivés fatigués et tard après une longue route on a dû attendre que la réceptionniste soit disponible entre deux clients pour nous déposer avec nos bagages en voiturette car on ne peut pas la conduire soi même ça a été le gros bémol. Le reste du temps il faut marcher avec ses courses ou autre jusqu’au logement pas très pratique.

El lloc és magnífic, la zona de surf increïble i és molt entretingut veure a la gent practicar. L'aeroport és aprop, però no ens ha molestar massa el soroll.

Die Einrichtung war super. Das Haus war für vier Personen sehr komfortabel und großzügig und die Lage angenehm ruhig. Der Linienbus 70 bietet eine gute Anbindung an die Tram und weitere Verbindungen nach Edinburgh City. Bei unserer Anreise wurden wir und unser gesamtes Gepäck mit einem Caddy bis zum Haus gebracht, was aufgrund des schwierigen Weges sehr hilfreich war.

An heißen Tagen gibts keine Gelegenheit für Nicht-Surfer während des Aufenthalts einmal ins Wasser zu gehen. Die gab's nur einmal am Freitag für eine Stunde am Abend. Schade. Der Weg von draußen zu den Häusern ist leider sehr schwierig, insbesondere mit Gepäck. Bei einer Abreise vor 6:00 Uhr morgens kommt kein Caddy, sodass man die Koffer selbst über den steinigen und teilweise schwierigen Weg zum Auto bzw. Bus transportieren muss. Gerade bei einer frühen Abreise zum Flughafen ist das sehr unpraktisch. Schade dass es keine Direktverbindung nach Edinburgh City vom Resort aus mehr gibt.

Brak płynu do naczyń, gąbki do naczyń czy choćby jednej tabletki do zmywarki. Ciężko by przyjeżdżając na jeden dzień mieć takie rzeczy ze sobą. Sól i pieprz też by się przydała.

Reception 200 metres from car park. Room 250 metres from reception. No access permitted for cars to unload. Would have been helpful to have detail before we booked. Poor indication in car park as to where accommodation reception was. Poor marking to room locations, although a tiny map was supplied. Bathroom Toilet was a wetroom approx 30 x 16 inches. Imposdible to take a shower without soaking toilet. We arrived after long trip at 15:50 and had to wait till 16: 20 before room was available. Others arriving a same time were told their rooms would only ba available 17:00-17:30.

We have booked the room with a dog and we discovered only at the reception that there was a fee of 35£ if we wanted to stay (for the cleaning of the room due to the dog). Definitely the highest dog fee we have never received for only one night in 10sqm room.

The wave pool is pretty amazing, the restaurants there are very nice and the staff is friendly. The pods are confortable as well.

We checked in 1h later because our rooms were not ready. It was a bit disappointed as the check in already at 4pm…which in my opinion is late to enjoy and rest. So we only had the room at 5pm. We asked for a technician to come to repair the sound system and they said they will come but no one showed up. The room was not super clean and had hairs in the bathroom. It seems they have a lot of people and are a bit overwhelmed…

Great concept for surfers of all kinds. It was experiential and welcoming. The vibes are spot on! We stayed in a hilltop bungalow and it spacious and comfortable. The beds, the showers — we loved it all. The hilltops are a bit of a walk, but it was a nice way to start and end the day. Beautiful views. The restaurants and other amenities complete the experience. It’s a bit tricky with no car, but it didn’t deter us and getting taxis was easy.

Walk from the car park to the lodge was too much. My mum wasn't able to do it at all but Manager gave her a ride every time we asked. It would be nice if we could take our car to the lodge.

Super vue depuis le chalet ;-). Grand parking à quelques mètres du logement et du site de surf ! Au calme, tout en étant proche des autoroutes, de l'aéroport et d'Edimbourg ! Super endroit pour faire les visites dans le coin !!!

We have stayed here several times. It is clean, quiet, staff are lovely, car parking good, and surroundings are fantastic. Sauna looks good as does the spa.

Really disappointed in the breakfast situation. I think a lack of staff? We waited ages in a queue to get our order taken and, in that time, I got the impression that orders were slow coming out the kitchen. There really seemed to be no structure to what was /wasn’t going on. We decided to leave without breakfast to go somewhere else en route. I think it’s sad as the rest of the experience was fantastic.

Zajímavé, moderní, spali jsme v malé kapsli pro 2, vše potřebné k rychlému přespání, velmi blízko k letišti. Perfektní postel, největší co jsme měli na putování ve Skotsku celý týden. Neubytovali jsme se za účelem sportovního vyžití, takže další služby nemohu hodnotit.

Delší vzdálenost od parkoviště, pokud máte kufr či více věcí, škoda, že se nedá pro tyto účely vjet dovnitř, zvlášť pokud se ubytováváte na delší dobu. Ale to nebyl náš případ. Měli jsme bohužel znečistěnou konvici na vodu, takže jsme ji nepoužili.

Lodges were great. Very clean, modern and great space. We used the accommodation as a base for days out around the eastcoast/Edinburgh area which was ideal. Although we didn't try Surfing, the facility looked really good.

Nothing we didn't like. As described the hilltop lodges are uphill, but the buggy transfer is great if needed.

We had an excellent stay. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always helpful. Check-in was smooth, and communication was excellent throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the food — everything we tried was delicious and of great quality. The coffee was outstanding, especially the Flat White and Cortado, and the tea was excellent as well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely love to come back.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay overall and genuinely enjoyed our time at the resort. The accommodation was excellent, and the buggy service was a great convenience throughout our stay. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, our checkout experience completely changed our impression of the stay. The buggy driver who took us to the car park was unhelpful and came across as discriminatory. There was clearly enough space in the buggy for one more person, but when we politely asked if one of us could sit there, he refused, saying the buggy was "too heavy." His explanation did not seem reasonable, and his attitude towards us felt disrespectful and unwelcoming. When we arrived at the car park, I politely asked if he could drop us a little closer to our car because we had luggage and an elderly family member with us. He refused and simply said he could not drive any further and that we had to get off where he stopped. Rather than offering assistance, he was dismissive and unwilling to help. His behaviour made us feel that we were being treated differently, which was very upsetting. Another issue that stood out was the confusion during checkout. At check-in, a member of staff told us that we could simply leave the keys in the lock when checking out. We followed those instructions, locked everything, and came downstairs, only to be told that they needed the keys from us. This unnecessary confusion added stress to our departure. It was disappointing that the last few minutes of our stay overshadowed what had otherwise been a fantastic experience. We hope you will look into these issues, particularly the behaviour of the buggy driver, and ensure that all guests are treated with courtesy, respect, and consistency.

We are to meet up with our daughter with our grandchild, baby friendly along with dogs and fantastic set up with outstanding accomodations, Sauna and cafe, walking distance to the beautiful village with a pub called the Bridge Inn via a stunning canal walk. Everyone respect the environment and the reason of where we are to such a unique retreat away from historical City not so far away.

Die gemietete Blockhütte war unsere Familie mit 2 Eltern und 4 jungen Erwachsenen super. Genug Platz, schick und modern, alles ordentlich und sauber, bequeme Betten, tolle Ausstattung - in der Küche war alles vorhanden und das Wohnzimmer war sehr gemütlich für Familienabende. Die Surfer haben wir nur beobachtet, waren aber nicht selbst surfen. Wir haben die Unterkunft für unseren Besuch in Edinburgh gewählt, was perfekt war. ca. 30 min Fahrzeit mit dem Mietwagen.

Die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit ist leider nur mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Im Resort gab es keine Möglichkeit Lebensmittel zu kaufen.

The bathroom in our pod was a bit small & hard to maneuver as it was a shower stall with shower, sink & toilet all in 1.

Overall, we enjoyed many aspects of our stay, but one incident significantly affected our experience and, more importantly, the way it was handled by staff. While walking through the surf area during the day, where there were numerous families and school groups, we observed a guest in one of the waterfront pods standing completely naked with the doors fully open, making him clearly visible from the public walkway. When I reported this to reception, I was told that nothing could be done because “he was inside his accommodation”. I found this response disappointing. The issue was not what someone was doing in private, but that they were openly visible to everyone passing by, including children. After I later contacted management, I was informed that the duty manager had in fact spoken to the guest and asked him to be more mindful. This suggests that there was an appropriate way to deal with the situation after all. I hope the resort develops clearer guidance for staff on handling situations where behaviour inside accommodation is plainly visible from public areas. As a resort that actively welcomes families and school groups, I would have expected concerns of this nature to be taken more seriously from the outset. Aside from this issue, the facilities themselves were good, but the handling of the incident left me disappointed.

This place is absolutely amazing; pictures don’t do justice. We stayed in one of the hilltop lodges. It was beautiful, modern, and so clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and amazing views. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We arrived at midnight, and one of the reception staff was still available to not only check us in but also give us a buggy ride to our lodge. Highly recommend this resort.

Clean and nicely presented chalets.

Very poor check in and check out process. Not very clear that buggies are only available for the first person checking in. We had 12 people that were expected to carry all their luggage for the weekend to the chalets. Chalets are a 10/15min walk from car park on a loose gravel track, ‘buggy service’ is very unreliable and apparently required booking on check out. I was advised by staff to stand outside chalets as I must check out but I could be waiting 2/3 hours until someone could bring a buggy to help with luggage. Kitchen well equipped in ways but not clear that cleaning equipment required and had to drive 10mins to local store to get cleaning equipment.

El sistema de calefacción y la localización al lado de las olas.

No es muy cómodo para pasar más de una o dos noches, tiene muchas carencias. Una mesa para comer con sillas, una escoba para barrer las piedras que inevitablemente entran y algo más de almacenaje.

La ubicación. Las cabañas están climatizadas y la cama es grande y cómoda. Es tranquilo y silencioso por la noche. El personal es amable y las instalaciones son acogedoras

Nos alojamos en las cabañas pequeñas porque éramos 2 personas, y está bien para un día pero se hace pequeño y falta equipación para más días. El camino es de piedra y es inevitable que entre a la habitación, y el wc está en la propia ducha así que acaba todo mojado, pero no hay una escoba para las piedras ni una fregona para poder secar. Falta almacenaje. Hay una superficie que permite sentarse pero no hay sillas, que podrían ser plegables.

As I stayed there couple of time I can easily recommend this place. It’s really great. Close to airport, approximately 15 minutes drive by taxi (low cost). Then you can take tram to Edinburgh if you would like to explore it. Nice and VERY clean!

Run by 20 year olds with no customer service skills. It was a surf shop that happened to have tiny pods for overnight stays. Spiders in our pod. POD hadn’t been swept out in a while. Would not let us check in early. Had to wait in the canteen with our luggage so couldn’t even get out for a walk. We’re dropped off at the car park which was some distance from reception. No apparent shuttle between car park and reception or units. Pod was about the size of a small camping trailer.

Brilliant stay - perfect for families

Location great and loved watching the surfing although we weren’t there for that it was an added bonus.

Found it difficult to cook our meals, or even toast! Also no instructions for the cooking equipment.

I arrived late evening & I phoned the number on the gate. Kennedy if I remember correctly was his name & he was most helpful coming to assist me in a golf buggy. He helped me with my luggage & drove to reception to pick up my key. He then drove to my dinky little lodge which was lovely warm & cosy.

Coming straight from the airport at that time I had no food or drink so a vending machine that is accessible at all hours would have been a welcome sight.

We stayed in one of the smaller pods but it was very clearly well designed and thought out layout. Would absolutely stay again

The door was a little finniky to lock

The cabin was lovely staff were very friendly

I chose the resort for convenience as it was close to the airport. It was a pleasant surprise - quiet, clean, comfortable with friendly and obliging staff.

The walk from carpark to Reception could be a challenge. Fortunately, when we arrived at 9:30pm they saw us on CCTV and came to collect us on the golf buggy.

Pleasant outlook from our pod. Very cute. Handy for Edinburgh Airport and it was by far the cheapest accommodation we found that particular night. We were taken to our pod with an offer to help with suitcases to the pod from reception which was a nice touch.

It's not a major problem to have to walk to reception then to the pod but then it was a pleasant sunny evening 10/15 minutes in rain would have been a different matter. There seems no facility to drop off you luggage. There may have been an offer to help take it back to the car when leaving but we did not take advantage of it. The panel to control the air conditioning was so well concealed, it is a black glass panel, that we did don't find it until we were leaving - slept with the door ajar,.

Loved the relaxed environment on the onsite and the choice of eateries was awesome. The chalet its self was amazing and the shuttle to Edinburgh is perfect.
