Reviewed Sep 15, 2026WE LOOOOVED KURA KURA HOUSE! The staff were adorable. We stayed in a bungalow and also the surfers room. Super comfy! The gardens are immaculate. The salt water pool is incredible with heaps of shade and comfy sunbeds/umbrellas. There is a beautiful shala where you can chill and relax, play cards or do yoga. The ice bath and sauna were an awesome surprise. THE RESTAURANT IS THE BEST IN THE AREA - we absolutely were obsessed. A really friendly vibe where we made life-long friends!!! A special thanks to Zee and Huddy. X

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026I loved my stay here. Planning to go back next year. It has the most beautiful tropical 🌴 gardens. The pool is salt water 💦 & long enough to do some laps.
The food is amazing. Everything home made by their chef. Seriously delicious.
Oh and had to have my evening Margarita at sunset.
Beautiful walk to Yoyos Beach 🏖️ so close to.
A special mention to Zee the Manager, he was incredible! Thank you Zee for looking after us.
I also had a massage in their massage room. So good.

Gutes Frühstück, 10 Min zu Fuss zum Strand,das ist optimal-man hört die Wellen und die ultra laute Karakoe von Einheimischen nicht. Habe alle Buchten und Unterkünfte im Westen Sumbawas gesehen-das ist die Beste!

The restaurant quality is unmatched and all of the staff make this place so welcoming and will help you with anything you need. The rooms are very comfortable with all the amenities and we extended our stay multiple time. I can't recommend this place enough, the combination of a high quality accommodation and grounds, excellent staff vibe and great location, this is paradise in West Sumbawa!

Het eten, de villa met prachtige buiten badkamer, super fijn dat er een koelkast en watertap was en natuurlijk een airco. De douche was heerlijk. Het zwembad met de handdoeken waren fantastisch. Het verse eten, zelfgebakken brood en cakes etc. De tuin van kura kura was alsof je in een Balinese jungle was beland. Zo prachtig. Alles super schoon en netjes en nieuw. Massage en scooters geregeld. Zelfs afscheidscadeau van het personeel gekregen zo lief!!!!

First of all their amazing staff makes you feel very welcome and helps you with (literally) anything you need. They make great coffee’s and food all day.
The bungalows are veery comfortable, from the beds to the bathroom and the seats in front on your own little terrace or balcony.
Their food is besides delicious, packed with nutrition and gets you ready to roll through those hot Sumbawa days.
Gym, sauna, ice bath, yoga place. Everything has wht you need to stay fit for the waves there.
Will return!

L’accoglienza da parte di See è stata fantastica. Ci ha mostrato tutte le strutture a nostra disposizione, chiarendo ogni nostro quesito con grande gentilezza e professionalità. Ci ha seguito poi durante il nostro soggiorno con attenzione rendendo la nostra vacanza ancora più piacevole.
Bellissime le camere ed i bagni curati in ogni particolare stilistico.
Ottima la cucina con piatti gustosi,abbondanti ed esteticamente piacevoli a prezzi più che ragionevoli.
Bellissima la struttura dove poter fare yoga.
Non ultimo il grande lavoro del giardiniere che ha reso questo posto magico.

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026I loved everything about Kura Kura. The rooms were beautiful with comfy beds and water filters in the room with hot and cold water options. The bathroom was gorgeous with a massive bath, hot water and all bathroom essentials ptovided. Air conditioning and fans in the room. The gardens were gorgeous and the pool was sensational. The restaurant was really quite the next level. They baked all their own bread, the serving sizes were more than fair and the menu options were really authentic. The service was excellent all round and the staff were all so welcoming
There vwas nothing to dislike. It is 3 1/2 hrs from the airport but the drive is very intoxicating as you drive to the south west of Sumbawa.

Great value for what are very lovely comfortable rooms, but it’s the whole property that makes it - beautiful gardens which are constantly maintained daily, a fantastic pool area, yoga deck, and lovely bar/restaurant area. Bezzy the owner is fantastic - so warm, welcoming and helpful, always talking with guests with a smile on his face. Something I recognised (and really value) is how he talks with his staff - which was in a really positive way. Complimenting their good work, chatting and joking with them. I hugely respect this and it’s nice to see. Thanks for a great stay.

Reviewed Nov 3, 2025Mit viel Liebe zum Detail präsentiert sich Kura Kura in einem top Zustand. Die Garden-Villa ist sehr stylisch und cozy zugleich. Man kann sogar Netflix schauen, wenn man möchte :). Der Pool ist lang genug um Bahnen zu schwimmen und man kann Yoga auf eigene Faust machen. Das Personal ist sehr zuvor kommend und das Essen ist 10 von 10. Der Vibe in der Unterkunft ist sehr angenehm, man fühlt sich wie zuhause. Die Anlage ist groß mit wenig Unterkünften, sodass man oft ganz allein am Pool oder im Yoga Shala sein kann. Bezzy hat sehr viel Liebe ins Kura-Kura House gesteckt, die Mitarbeiter werden von ihr stets gebrieft und so wird die Qualität aufrecht erhalten. Wir können es uneingeschränkt empfehlen!
Ein Mückennetz zu der Jahreszeit wäre gut gewesen, soll aber keine Kritik sein.

Si poteva cenare entro le 20 e non si poteva prendere neanche una cosa da bere dopo quell’orario. Capisco che ognuno faccia le proprie scelte ma mi è sembrato un po’ scomodo.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2025Super schöne Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Personal. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir verlängert haben. Die Hütten sind super ausgestattet, inkl. Wasserspender im Zimmer. Alles ist sehr sauber und das Frühstück sowie alle weiteren Speisen sehr lecker. Es lohnt sich auch abends hier zu essen.
Uns wurde bei allem sofort geholfen: Transport, Surfguide, Roller, Visaverlängerung etc.
Zusätzlich noch zu erwähnen ist die Yogaplattform, das kleine Fitnessstudio (beides genutzt) und die Deckenventilatoren selbst auf der Veranda, die die Mücken abhält.
Alles hat gefallen. Der Weg von der Hauptstraße zum Hotel ist etwas holprig, aber auch für Rolleranfänger zu meistern und nur kurz

Reviewed Jun 24, 2025Owners were great, and Zee, who was lovely, made my stay even better 🙂 Food is not only the best in the area, but possibly best Western food I've ever had in Indonesia (and I have travelled the country far and wide) - amazing flavours, big portions. Room and gardens etc are beautifully presented, with lots of lovely little thoughtful details and extra touches (I loved all the flowers). Sauna and ice bath are a cool extra feature. I don't surf, so aside from visiting some local beaches and restaurants, I had no reason to leave this little slice of paradise 😁
Nothing. But I would suggest a bathmat in the rooms. I used the smaller towel but I think it was meant to be a hand towel 🙂

Reviewed Jun 14, 2025Kura kura house is a little slice of paradise. This is our first time in Sumbawa but I am pretty sure this accommodation will be hard to beat. The cottages are comfortable clean and well thought out. We don’t surf so just came here to relax during our 6 month tour of Indonesia and the pool area and grounds offered a perfect place to do such. Bezzy and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant serves superb food you will not go hungry that’s for sure 😁
There is a construction site next door - on the first night worked carried on well into the early hours of the morning. BUT during our stay we heard little noise so overall was not a problem but just something to be aware of. Also they had run out of the frozen margaritas so a little disappointed we missed out! Maybe next time!

The whole place is absolutely stunning and the food was exceptional (easily some of the best we’ve had in Indonesia). We ate there every night and each meal blew us away. What really made it unforgettable though was the team. Zee and the crew went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, looked after, and totally at home. They brought so much warmth and personality to the experience and it truly wouldn’t have been the same without them.We’ll absolutely be back. A real gem of a place.

Comfy room - we were in a Surfers shack but it was great and all we needed. I cannot recommend staying here enough.

The deluxe villa was very comfortable, great bed, fresh water dispenser and a huge luxurious bathroom. A great balcony to sit on and watch the sun go down. The pool was beautifully landscaped, cool and big. A great place to sit and read a book. The food at the cafe was above and beyond anything we had tried in the area. The staff were incredibly helpful from tips about travel and knowledge about the local area. We couldn’t thank them enough for how welcomed we felt from every staff member. Beautiful place with beautiful people. All the little touches made Kura Kura House an amazing place to stay. You won’t be disappointed.

home. From the moment we checked in we were made to feel welcome & looked after.
This boutique style accommodation is tastefully decorated, comfortable & spacious. The rooms are well designed with all the mods & cons - large TV with Netflix, hot & cold water on tap, super comfy bed, awesome bathroom & private outside sitting area. The magnesium swimming pool is fantastic as is the infrared sauna & ice bath.
Breakfast is a choice of delicious meals from smoothie bowls, brekky salad & local fresh tropical fruit. Yum yum yum.
The restaurant offers a wide array of fresh, local, delicious meals. You really don’t need to go anywhere else.
The location is perfect. Walking distance to the beach & a short drive to other beaches & local surfing spots & sights.
We wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Everything was perfect.
Bezzy & her team have thought of everything & we miss them already.

Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything working perfectly. I’m not usually one for eating in the hotel, but Kura Kura’s food is so fresh and delicious, we ate here multiple times. Could walk to Yo-yos or 9 mins on the scooter. Staff were great. Honestly Kura Kura felt like a luxury experience at such good value. We will definitely be back!

Small thing in the end but there was a public event with music one night that we wish we had been aware of when booking, as it was a bit of a surprise, since Kura Kura house looks very much like a rather quiet retreat (and mostly was during our stay - which is why we were drawn to it to begin with) It’s great to have events, but we only were notified upon arrival. Being offered ear plugs or a reduction for the one night would have been a good alternative. It was loud only until 00:30 and was promptly wrapped up. In the end it was OK, and the hosts were accommodating. Growing pains I think.

The whole property is well maintained, super clean, the garden is beautiful, my room was serviced every single day(!) and the food is exceptional. They also organized a motorbike for me and my trip back to Lombok. Thank you team Kura Kura!
The location is a bit further in the back of the town, but actually this was a pro for me since it was quiet. You can be at the beach in 5 minutes walking distance

The property is like a little oasis with a stunning pool, cafe and chill/yoga area and the bungalows are super comfortable and well finished with a dreamy bathroom!
