We had an absolutely wonderful stay! ✨🏜️ There is a shuttle service available for an additional fee, which made getting there very convenient. We also booked the dinner buffet, and the food was really delicious. Before dinner, we had the opportunity to learn more about the stars and the night sky, which made the whole experience even more special. Our room was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. One of the highlights was being able to watch the sunrise right from the camp — such a magical experience! What really stood out to us was how warm, welcoming, and friendly everyone was. You truly feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment you arrive. We highly recommend Starry Domes Desert Camps and would definitely stay here again! ⭐️❤️

Superlocatie, de weg er heen is al een avontuur met ‘eigen’ 4x4. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en uitstekend ontbijt en avondeten. Ook leuke activiteiten die je ter plekke kan boeken.

Great Hospitality by Mr Hames. He meets at a pick up point as from there it's 30 min drive to the Dome location, we drive through the dessert. Please ensure to have your own 4WD cars for the dessert.

Это не первый наш отель в пустыне, но пожалуй-лучший . Вкусная еда ,удобный номер без проблем с водой . Отличный прием и очень рекомендую погонять с ними на квадроциклах на закате и параглайдинг. Верблюды чистые ,ухоженные . И все очень пунктуально минута в минуту .

Nous avons très bien été accueilli

Le lieux est magnifique et les employés très gentils. Avant le repas on prend le temp de nous montrer les étoiles et nous expliquer comment elles sont dans le ciel. Le guide etait très agréable et pédagogue

J’ai trouvé dommage qu’on est accès uniquement à 16h puisqu’il y a déjà 30 min de route (dans le désert) pour rejoindre le camp. Le soleil se couche tôt et le matin on doit partir tôt pour libérer les chambres on profite pas complètement du lieux

Noi siamo arrivati con il nostro fuoristrada a noleggio (ci siamo trovati a Bidiya con il proprietario che ci ha fatto strada guidando davanti). Bellissima la vista sulle dune all’alba. La mattina abbiamo fatto un bel giro in fuoristrada con sosta dai dromedari lungo la pista (avevano i piccoli). Hamed il proprietario ci ha spiegato la posizione delle varie stelle, è una persona molto preparata, ci ha raccontato molto sulle tradizioni omanite. Cena ottima e varia. Grazie di tutto siamo stati benissimo.

Sehr schön in der Wüste gelegen, wirklich ganz für sich. Die Domes sind super komfortabel und haben eine kleine Terrasse, die einen vor dem Flugsand schützt. Für uns war es ein fantastisches kleines Abenteuer und auch das Frühstück und das Essen waren lecker vielseitig und alles war wirklich gut. Wir hatten einen Transfer gebucht, weil wir kein Allrad gemietet hatten und das ging reibungslos und ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen!

Möbel etwas desolat ... aber für eine Nacht egal!

If you’re looking for a luxury resort, stop reading here, this is not your place – if you want to truly experience Oman, you’re exactly right here. The camp is run by an Omani family from Bidiyya: brothers and brothers-in-law who host with genuine passion. Communication beforehand with Hamed via WhatsApp was smooth and reliable, the transfer punctual. The drive to the camp with Yusuf was already an experience in itself – he’s the kind of person who makes you feel welcome before you’ve even arrived. The camp sits right on top of the dunes, giving you an unobstructed view over the desert in every direction. Throughout the entire stay you feel the vastness of the landscape around you – no signs of civilisation, nothing but sand, sky and silence. The activities are the heart of the stay. Our choices: dune bashing and sunset – four brothers, four 4x4s, pure joy! Words barely do it justice. The next morning’s quad tour through the desert was a worthy finale. In the evening, stargazing with Ahmed, whose knowledge of astronomy, Oman, local and world culture is truly impressive. Tea under the desert sky, fascinating conversations with him and fellow guests – this was far more than a tourist checkbox. The most basic tent offered a breathtaking view, a comfortable bed and a fridge stocked with water and snacks. We woke up to the sunrise – straight from the mattress. On the way back, we made a spontaneous stop to take pictures with camels. These 20 hours had everything that makes a travel experience unforgettable: real people, real landscape, real hospitality. Die Unterkunft hat derartig gestunken, wir fanden es nicht erträglich-besonders für den Preis. Auch die Decken waren sehr dünn, was bei kalten Temperaturen unvorteilhaft war. Die Klima stank leider auch.

Tout était parfait. Rien à dire, tout est bien organisé et bien expliqué. Les activités sont sympathiques.

Nous avions payé pour l’activité de glisse sur les dunes, mais aucune planche ne nous a été fournie, alors que d’autres groupes en avaient. Sans planche, l’activité n’a pas pu être réalisée correctement. Un peu déçus surtout pour les enfants..

What an experience: sleeping in the desert while still having the comfort of a toilet and shower with comfortable beds and AC! The bungalow was big enough, the beda nice and hard, the toilet and shower usable. The terrace with picnic set and lounge chairs was super handy and often in use. The breakfast at the main area was sufficient and tasty.

You could tell that the vast majority of guests only stayed on night: there was no housekeeping and after the first night and day there was sand laying EVERYWHERE in the room, it was not to avoid. But I guess that's also part of the experience ;)

The food was poor and not warm enough,however the oranges and the coconut cake were great.There were too many smelly cars roaring up and down the dunes,not good for the desert environment and they tuned their engines to create maximum noise

There are lots of desert camps that offer similar experience and Milky Way Domes has all of them - dune bashing, camel riding, etc. But the unique thing that this camp has which other don't is a stargazing session in the evening with an expert. Hamad was very friendly and knowledgable and gave a great talk about the stars with a cool laser pointer that made it seem like we were in a planetarium. An unforgettable experience I highly recommend.

Das ganze Umfeld ist sehr beeindruckend. Mit einem 4x4 ist es ganz leicht zu erreichen, weil man gesammelt hinter einem Guide herfährt. Man trifft sich an einem Haus im Ort vor der Wüste. Klappt super.

Man ist nicht auf Gäst eingestellt die zwei Tage dort sind. Tagsüber war nur Reinigungspersonal da und wir hatten nichtmal die Chance auf einen Kaffee. Ankunft war sehr nüchtern und es fehlte etwas an Gastfreundlichkeit und eine kleine Einführung was man so machen kann. Wir haben uns etwas verloren gefühlt. Die Domes gehören zu dem Camp Starry Domes und gehören direkt zu der gesamten Anlage. Das Essen war OK, mehr aber auch nicht. Den Unterkünften sieht man das alter schon an. Ich weiß wo die Unterkünfte liegen und mir ist auch klar das ich keinen Standard wie zuhause erwarten kann.

Il personale molto gentile e disponibile. La stanza era molto pulita e la vista meravigliosa, proprio sulle dune, bellissimo vedere l'alba direttamente dal letto. Nella camera era presente l'aria condizionata e le prese. La spiegazione dopo cena sulle costellazioni è stata molto bella e anche la bevuta de the omanita assieme alle altre persone. Le uscite sulle dune al tramonto e alla mattina sono state molto belle.

Spectacular location - a good drive into the desert, and you can follow the convoy if you have a 4WD car and not as confident driving in yourself. They give a meeting point and time just before the desert, which is very easy to reach. The hotel is a remote location truly showcasing the tranquillity within the desert, but yet somehow having all the facilities you'd need; food, water, enclosed dome with air conditioning, large bathroom and shower with constant good flow of hot water, tea/coffee making facilities with snacks, and even a bug spray! We opted for dinner which had a good selection, as did breakfast. Lovely night's stay at this perfect spot. Highly recommended

N/A - only thing to watch out for is the tyre deflating place that you are taken to before the desert. You aren't charged anything when deflating as I suspect the owners pay for this service, however the shop tell you to come back to the same place the next day/once you are coming back from the desert (you aren't with the convoy on the way back). We went back to the same shop assuming this was part of the service, only to be demanded for money for deflating and inflating the tyres, which posed the question - if I never returned to the place, how will they have been paid for the deflating?! It is small money in the grand scheme of things, but just out of principle we didn't like this approach by the tyre shop. Nothing negative about the hotel itself, but just wanted to highlight to people who may face the same when opting for following the convoy and deflating/inflating tyres. There are plenty of shops that you can get this done from on the way back, and they are all the same price, should you wish to go elsewhere.

The room was well decorated and a spacious room. We had an amazing dinner for 8 OMR per person. We parked our vehicle at the meeting point which was easy to find and took the pickup vehicle for 25 OMR. Lots of activities to choose from. Overall a great experience!

The included breakfast was average. In one of the rooms the water glasses were dirty with a lipstick stain from the previous guests.

The stay was well managed and enjoyable. The property is clean and maintained well. Plenty of options for activities in the desert. The sunset and sunrise are a treat to watch at this property. Dinner buffet was good. Coffee and dessert were being charged additionally in the buffet dinner, they should have been part of the buffet itself. Breakfast was average.

Being in the hospitality industry, the manager of the place needs to be more courteous and humble. We were told, if you are late at the meeting point even by 5 mins, noone will be there to guide you. The same message can be delivered in a better tone. The manager was openly gossiping about their opinion about a certain nationality on how they are cheap or their personal experience has been with them and belittling them infront of guests from other countries which I felt was something they need discuss in their meeting rooms not with visiting guests. They did not realize they might already have guests from the same country amongst them listening to the conversation. This was unprofessional.

Beautiful destination. Friendly staff. Stargazing was a lot of fun. The conversations around the campfire with all the guests were very enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner were also well-organized. I definitely recommend this accommodation.

abbiamo pernottato la notte di capodanno che solitamente per le strutture è critica, invece di meglio non potevamo aspettarci. Ci sono venuti a prendere in un punto di raccolta comodo e pratico da raggiungere in auto per portarci in questo paradiso in mezzo al deserto. Una bolla (bowl) nel deserto rosso omanita, insieme ad altre strutture di questo tipo. Caffè di benvenuto con cena e colazione internazionali con taglio omanita. La sera di capodanno, pur non essendo una festività sentita lì, hanno organizzato diverse attività come star watching, lancio delle lanterne e fuochi di artificio, per poi finire in una capanna attorno ad un fuoco a sorseggiare the tipico e parlare con gli altri ospiti. Consigliamo il tour nel deserto al tramonto con le jeep, per i bambini il Sand boards, e per i più avventurosi il deltaplano nel deserto (che non abbiamo potuto fare causa vento forte quel giorno). Gentili ospitali e disponibili per ogni esigenza, comoda la possibilità di prenotare le diverse attività messe a disposizione dalla struttura direttamente in loco.

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich hervorragend. Schon bei der Abholung in Bidiyah haben wir uns sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Unser Fahrer Yusuf hat uns während des gesamten Aufenthalts begleitet, war immer hilfsbereit und hat uns viele tolle Erlebnisse ermöglicht, wofür wir ihm sehr dankbar sind. Besonders schön fanden wir, dass man in der Unterkunft viele zusätzliche Aktivitäten buchen konnte. Wir haben uns u.a. für Dune Bashing und Paragliding entschieden, wobei Letzteres ein Erlebnis fürs Leben ist. Auch das Essen in der Unterkunft war wirklich sehr gut und vielfältig und das Küchenpersonal sehr freundlich. Wir hatten auch ein wirklich tolles Zimmer. Gerne wären wir noch länger geblieben.

Avevamo qualche dubbio nello scegliere questa struttura, temendo fosse meno autentica rispetto alle tende nel deserto, ma mai scelta fu più azzeccata. La location è spettacolare, isolata tra le dune, con un paesaggio quasi lunare. Camera splendida: calda, comoda e con una grande vetrata che permette di vedere l’alba direttamente dal letto. Colazione e cena eccezionali. Escursioni ben organizzate, con costi in linea. Senza dubbio uno dei soggiorni migliori di tutto il viaggio. Il deserto: wow. 🌵✨

Domek oddalony od 20 km od wjazdu na pustynię. Po spotkaniu w punkcie przed wjazdem przewodniczący nas zaprowadził na miejsce. Domki oddalone od pozostałej campów. Piękne miejsce , dobrze wyposażony. Widok z okna na wschód słońca. Śniadanie wystarczające. Zabawa samochodami na pustyni bezcenna.

Wir hätten uns über ein bisschen Abendprogramm mit den Einheimischen gefreut aber nach dem Abendessen kehren alle in ihre Unterkünfte und sind für sich alleine

Die Lage der Domes ist phänomenal. Es ist abseits der anderen Unterkünfte und somit hat man ringsherum nur Wüste/ Sonne und Sterne. Die Domes sind sehr komfortabel, mit tollem Sonnenaufgang vom Bett aus durch die großen Frontfenster. Das Personal ist sehr nett und man kann einige Aktivitäten bei Ihnen buchen. Das Abendessen und Frühstück ist gut und ausreichend. Nach dem Abendessen erhält man viele tolle Details über das Sternenbild und kann noch in geselliger Runde zusammensitzen wenn man dies möchte. Auch hat die Abholung am mitgeteilten Treffpunkt wunderbar geklappt. Über WhatsApp war immer jemand zu erreichen. Wir können die Unterkunft für eine Auszeit in der Wüste nur wärmstens empfehlen.

La struttura è esteticamente molto bella. All’interno ci sono i bagni e le doccie sono calde. L’host Hamed è stato grandioso sia con le spiegazioni durante la notte sulle stelle e che le chiacchiere davanti al the. Nota d’onore, abbiamo avuto problemi con il noleggio dell’auto ed è stato super disponibile nel chiamare per noi e risolvere la situazione. La cena e la colazione ottime. Abbiamo anche fatto Dune Bashing con Said. Ottimo autista.

Affascinante avventura nel deserto. La nostra stanza era una cupola con balconcino con amaca e sdraio. Posto perfetto per rilassarsi e ammirare l'immensità del deserto. I nostri piccoli figli si sono divertiti un mondo. La struttura offre varie attività a pagamento. Noi abbiamo scelto il tour in 4x4 sulle dune al tramonto: molto divertente scavalcare le dune in 4x4, rotolarsi tra la sabbia e godersi le ultime luci del giorno in cima alla duna più alta.

This place is really special and definitely a highlight for our trip to Oman. It is good to have a 4x4 to reach it, although the owners can also organize transport instead. The accomodation is great, spacious and very clean and offer great views on the nearby dunes. Do not miss the sunrise over the desert as it can be quite surprising in Winter (no spoilers:) There is a choice of activties on and off site and I strongly recommend dune bashing and sunset view and desert trip on the next day. Food is very good too and the Star gazing is very interesting!

Echt perfect. Het door de duinen rijden waarbij ieder stel een auto met chauffeur meekreeg voelde als luxe. Ze maakte er echt een spektakel van. Maar ook het verhaal over de sterren na het diner. Gaaf dat de eigenaar dit zelf komt vertellen.

Eigenlijk niets. Je zou het eten iets minder kunnen beoordelen maar niet als je je realiseert dat je midden in de woestijn zit.

Tutto perfetto! Un’istruzione: se non affittate una 4x4 vi vengono a prendere 20 minuti fuori dal deserto e vi portano loro x 50 euro circa a macchina a/r. Precisi. Puntuali

La nuit dans le désert à Oman est un must have et honnêtement le service était top dans cet hôtel, le personnel également, l’un des membres du camp nous a même expliqué pleins de choses sur les étoiles les planètes etc.. c’était génial. De plus les activités sont top.

Le prix du transfert quand vous n’avez pas de 4x4 est assez onéreux nous avons payé 25 OMR ce qui n’est pas donné selon nous.

It isn't cheap but it is worth it for the experience of staying here. It is far away from everything else and has great facilities. You can sleep in the desert and still be comfortable.

Es hat alles perfekt gepasst. Wir sind mit unserem eigenen Auto zum Treffpunkt und dem Guide hinterhergefahren. Das Camp ist richtig schön in der Wüste. Es war um unser Camp herum nichts. Und dies war das Magische daran! Die Aussicht war atemberaubend. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker und frühstücken genauso! Dune Bashing unbedingt machen. Unsere Kinder haben sich auch ein Board ausgeborgt. Es hat uns allen einfach sehr gefallen!

The staff were amazing and the stargazing activity was eye opening. Dinner buffet was the best meal I have ever eaten in Oman with plenty of options.

The room was a bit far from the restaurant. Hot water took too long to come when showering. It would be perfect if the price can be slightly lowered.

Le manque d’authenticité de la « réception ». L’accueil impersonnel. L’impression d’être livré à soi-même sans explications. Le dîner et le petit-déjeuner pas en rapport de la prestation payée. Nous pensions rester 2 nuits, mais nous sommes partis le lendemain. Déception.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly extraordinary desert experience — beyond anything we imagined! We stayed here for one night as a family of four and… WOW. This place is something special — unforgettable from the very first moment. We arrived with our rented 4x4 Nissan Patrol and met the team in Bidiyah at 14:30, where they released the air from our tires so we could drive safely through the dunes. The 30-minute ride to the camp was already magical — endless golden sand and complete silence. The moment we reached the camp, the adventure began: quad biking, then the kids went sandboarding, and after that we drove our own 4x4 across the soft dunes — absolutely amazing and so much fun. Later we had free time just to relax and enjoy the desert. Before dinner, Hamed gathered all guests under the stars for his famous astronomy talk — and this is the reason we chose THIS camp. I checked many others, and none offered anything like this. His knowledge of planets, constellations, and the night sky is incredible. Everyone was captivated. Then came dinner — generous, delicious, authentic, far better than we expected. After dinner, we all sat together in a huge semi-open tent around a fire, drinking tea and talking with other guests late into the night. The atmosphere was perfect — warm, friendly, and unforgettable. Later, we sat on our private terrace in front of our dome, watching the stars for a long time. We didn’t even want to go to sleep — the sky was unbelievably clear, and there are no other camps nearby, so the stargazing is perfect. In the morning we woke up early to watch the sunrise — please don’t miss this. Wake up 10 minutes before the sun comes out; watching it rise over the dunes in total silence is something you will remember forever. Record a time-lapse if you can! After sunrise, the kids went camel riding, followed by a very nice breakfast. We stayed only one night, but honestly, we regret not booking two.

Close to the main way, noisy with car engines. They also have quads in the camp, which disturbs the peace of the place if you are looking for a pure desert experience. I stayed in this camp 2 years ago (when it was starry domes) and it was smaller and much more peaceful.
