10/10 – We absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The place was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. What truly made it special was how incredibly quiet and peaceful it was. Waking up to the calm surroundings and being able to completely switch off was exactly what we needed. You can really tell how much care and thought has gone into creating such a welcoming space. It was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a break from everyday life. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely love to come back in the future. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, you won’t be disappointed!

The place is very nice. Spacious, clean, and has everything you need. The host was very nice and gave us a lot of flexibility. We really appreciate the help and enjoyed our time here very much.

Couldn't get TV to go and Couldn't have a coffee didn't know how to work machine some instructions would've been good

The apartment is nice and modern, well insulated and cosy. Heat pump works really well. Full size kitchen with mostly everything you need including a Nespresso machine! Milk and cereals supplied too. Beds and pillows are all very comfortable. Bedrooms are nice and dark with good quality blinds. Both bedrooms have closets. Shower pressure was good with a quality shower head and quality shampoo and conditioner supplied. And should you need them there are power points aplenty!

Unfortunately the TV gave some grief. It kept dropping out of the WiFi connection. Had to do the turn off at the wall trick to get it to reconnect. But it didn't last long before it dropped out again.

We did not have the breakfast, although available. But enjoyed the coffee. The location to our venue we attended was as it stated only a few minutes away so it was very convenient to our requirements. and the accomodation was quiet, peaceful and very clean.

Beautiful scenery, quiet and private. I didn't have to call and search, I received the message before we arrived with instructions on where to go and how to get in. Nice and easy.

Great kitchen area. Aircon. wifi and washer/dryer all made it an effortless stay with our children.

indoor lounging area was just a bit cramped for 2 adults/ 3 children could've used one more bean bag or single seater but that's fine outdoor dining area was great but the camera above was off putting

Very peaceful location. The host was very responsive when we had difficulties operating the TV and the dishwasher.

The property is down a very steep driveway and so my brother, who has limited mobility, could not go for walks independently in the locality.

The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed to have a very comfortable stay.

Minor details but could've done with a bin and maybe an extra chair in the lounge for the evenings, apart from that we loved it and would definitely recommend.

would have been good to have Hot Chocolate drink available as well as well as peppermint tea for those of us who don't drink coffee or plain tea in the mornings or evenings.

Many thank to Rachael for creating such an amazing space. It was our favorite stay in our months' stay in NZ. Rachael even went out of her way to do our laundry since the washer was broken. Everything appeared like new. I appreciate Rachael's professionalism. Everything is so well kept that I felt right at home.

Sadly breakfast was just cereal, but the hostess went away and bought bread etc so we could have some toast. She said that customers had before said they only wanted cereal.

I suggested that a sign be put to where the actual house was as there was not indication at the gate that we had to go down the track to the accommodation. Unfortunately the TV wasn't working - I suggest a sheet of paper showing how to work the TV would be good - again the hostess came down and found the router wasn't correct but fixed it in the end.

Colourful Country Escape gives a homely vibe. It’s a place that is home away from home. Everything that you may need for your stay, it is available for use. Every touch that is added, you notice. Not only is the place beautiful, it also smells really lovely!

It was a quiet location. The place was well appointed and very neat and clean. There was some interesting birdlike.

Accommodation was advertised with breakfast. Breakfast cereal and milk was provided but nothing else. I would at least expect provisions for toast and possibly some juice.

It was cosy, quiet, the view of the farm cows was cool to see everyday, a beautiful smell as you walk into the house, everything was modernised and just a nice place to stay in. Honestly super impressed with this property. We booked it at 11pm, arrived at 11.15pm. We were met by one of the hosts and were welcomed and given access to the property. We had planned on carrying on our journey the next morning but the place is so cozy and relaxing we decided to stay another night. We will definitely book here again in the future. Also.. The cows are extremely cute and friendly too which was awesome for our daughter.

This property was a beautiful little slice of rural New Zealand life. The house was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful sleep in the main (Queen) bed, and in the second bedroom, our teenage daughter loved the cozy double bed with the single bunk above her. The bathroom was tidy, the water pressure from the shower was excellent, and we appreciated the heated lighting and heated towel rack. Lastly, the kitchen was spacious and clean, and it provided all the amenities and appliances we needed to feel comfortable. It was a perfect stay for our family.

Lack of communication when needed. No contact phone number or email to contact host at premises. Contacting host via booking.com bounced back. Lack of basic courtesy when unforeseen problem arose.

I appreciated that thr owner called me to see what time I'd be in so that she could ensure there was fresh milk and towels at the place.

I have three children who are quite wild at times, this place is had booked was a waay out of the city and was sitting too close to a drop almost clifflike. There was absolutely no way I felt comfortable staying with my kids knowing there were bulls in the paddock right next where this small place was located. I contacted thr owner and said I would like my money back and that I couldn't even stay there because my children are curious aged 2, 3 and 6. Basically she refused and said booking.com only pay her monthly. (Load of Kaka! I havnt heard peep from her since) I didn't step foot on this property and I had booked it for 3 nights! I would like my money back as this drop should have been advertised in the pictures displayed online! I understand that everyone needs to make a living but I believe in honesty and transparency. And this lady obviously doesn't give a hoot so long as she's got her dosh. Never again! From one very sad and disappointed customer.

Great place big area and facilities were fantastic

The location was great. It was set in a rural location but close enough to amenities and what we were travelling for. The house was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. It was secure and well lit. Very safe.

I've just spent the last two weeks at Colourful Country Escape, and I honestly can’t recommend this beautiful place enough. Every detail of the space has been created with such care and intention. The surroundings are stunning, and the quietness offers a rare chance to reset and recharge.

We confused 374 and 374a Youngson Road and so had difficulty finding the key. Suggest there be very clear instructions to guests to go down to the drive. to the lower building. Did get help from the host once we phoned her.
