Reviewed Aug 30, 2026La cama fue increible. Una de las camas más cómodas donde he alojado. El departamento es muy privado. Esta bien equipado. Muy cómodo, limpio y prolijo. Estacionamiento en la puerta del departamento.
Nosotros fuimos en auto y por eso funcionó muy bien. No lo recomendaría para alguien que va sin auto ya que no hay nada cerca para ir caminando. Pero si vas en auto (como nosotros) es una opción perfecta a precio razonable.

It’s more about what was missing or would be better. Larger sink in bathroom or somewhere to put own toiletries; taller fridge with small freezer; microwave; crockery/cutlery, although the latter are available if you ask.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2026The unit is behind the main house where the owners live, and is fully self-contained and well equipped. The owners (I'm not sure if their names are public so will refer to them as M&V) are great, instructions provided before arrival were thorough and they were very easy to deal with - I needed an earlier check-in as I was heading to an event that afternoon, and they helped me out and said I could :) The room itself is nice, the bed is nice (unlike other places that sometimes cheap out, this was a nice bed to sleep on). Everything is clean and modern.
Nothing really? My only qualm is it's a little far from town and the taxi's are a bit expensive (NZD $39), but none of that is really in control of the owners, it's more things to be aware of if you are booking here.

Manque un vrai lavabo. Le lave main actuel est trop petit pour un usage courant. Nous ne pouvons pas remplir la bouilloire sans utiliser un verre ou une tasse.

Pas très bien situé, il faut prendre la voiture pour faire le moindre truc. Le lavabo de la sdb est vraiment minuscule, il est compliqué même de se laver les mains sans mettre de l’eau partout.

Tak jak dużo ludzi pisze - umywalka jest ekstremalnie mała. Ledwo da się tu umyć ręce, a naczynia myliśmy pod prysznicem 😬 przydała by się też klimatyzacja bo wewnątrz zawsze było cieplej niż na zewnątrz. Marnowane jest też miejsce gdzie stoi lodówka, mógł by tam stać jakiś blat, który dużo by zmienił na plus.

Reviewed Dec 23, 2025Das Zimmer war eher klein … aufgrund des Wetters konnten wir nicht draußen sitzen. Es war sauber und schön eingerichtet. Eine Heizung war vorhanden - herrlich. Können wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
Das Waschbecken war Mini, so dass man automatisch beim Waschen und Zähneputzen das Bad „flutet“ … ein bisschen größer wäre super.

Reviewed Dec 18, 2025Have stayed in a lot of motels and B&Bs while touring the south island and this was one of the really lovely ones. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Self contained with it's own entrance and Vicki and Murray were excellent hosts but respcted your privacy. I can recommend the Studio on McRae no problem at all.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2025Sehr modernes kleines Studio, ruhig gelegen, sauber und gemütlich. Die Dusche ist super und mit einem Handteil ausgestattet. Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Der Besitzer ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Hat uns tolle Restauranttips gegeben. Das Studio verfügt über eine schöne Terrasse, die allerdings nur bei trockenen sonnigen Wetter nutzbar ist.
Es fehlen Ablageflächen in dem Studio und im Bad. Das Waschbecken ist extrem klein und der Tisch im Zimmer ebenfalls winzig. Nur ein Stuhl vorhanden, sodass man bei schlechtem Wetter nicht gut frühstücken kann.

The room was cosy, however it lacked a small table and 2 chairs to sit at for meals and to watch the TV.

Bathroom tiles are ice cold even with the heater on so it's recommended to wear slippers or socks in the bathroom.

Room cold on arrival despite having been asked for arrival time. Bathroom sink too small. Studio is a very conservative name for the room as very small and no facilities provided to self cater. Arrived back after dinner to find family member parked in the very tight space provided, so had to ask to move.

Reviewed May 20, 2025It is surely a pleasant place to stay. It is a quiet and nice environment. The owner, Murray, is very friendly and helpful. He waited for us outside in case we got lost, and suggested quite a few restaurants around. We both like their cat, Charlie. He is very sweet. Besides, there are a few traveling magazines in the room, which offer some ideas about what to do. We may come again next time when we visit Wanaka.

Very soft bed, not good for back support. Tiny sink in bathroom - hard to use without wetting the floor and impossible to refill drink bottle or electric jug. No toaster - these are standard in most places.
