Rockwood Karkloof Farm House and Farm Cottage

It is beautifully appointed with magical views! Every need is catered for and you have a true midlands experience yet are 15 min from Howick! The farmhouse is so pretty and the setting over the water is breathtaking! This is truly a gem! Sue was so very kind and welcoming and surprised my Mom with flowers for her birthday which was such an incredibly kind gesture!

It is the most beautiful, quaint cottage. It really is the best place to stay when coming to the Midlands

The house was beautiful and spacious. Everything that was needed was in the house. The outlook from the main bedroom was wonderful. The other rooms were spacious. The staff were accommodating. There was so much to explore for our kids, they had an absolute blast!

The unit was spacious and had great views.

In the main bedroom the only shower is outside which is great when the weather is good but was quite chilly when it was rainy and windy.

The setting is amazing and the home is so well appointed! You want for nothing!

I absentmindedly booked this facility, thought I was booking main lodge. Minor things can be improved on, needed a bowl to make pancakes, main entrance door larch needs fixing, locking with key only in remote space isn't comforting. Outside shower in main bedroom doesn't work well when it's cold or there's other guest in main lodge. TV needs to be updated to smart TV - would work well with the excellent wifi they have. Bedding had stains - probably wine stains. Info about things to do around the area would also be great, there is hiking trail but zero info provided.

Just fantastic. Loved the large yard, beautifully appointed interiors, and spacious rooms. Sue was a super host and all instructions were clear and she accommodated our special request. The kids loved the attic playroom with the ping-pong and foosball tables.

Gorgeous. Our tiny cottage was is farmhouse boujee. I call it small because there’s a bigger house next to it otherwise it was more than adequate for my daughter and I.

Breakfast not applicable, The peace and quite and the surrounding natural areas were extremely pleasant. The cottage iself was comfortable and fully equipped. Our host also went out of her way to ensure that we had a TV at our disposal.

Quite a long gravel road to travel to get to the property which was even worse with the heavy rain but the stay made up for that.

We highly recommend Rockwood Farm House. A luxury farm house holiday which was perfect for our families. The aesthetics and luxury finishes made our stay exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed all the spaces inside and outside. The bedrooms and bathrooms are perfectly balanced with style and comfort. Our kids had tons to do: From running around outside the massive beautiful lawn to playing in the jungle gym and the games room in the evening. The kids were spoilt for choice & had an amazing time. We loved how secluded it was! We felt like we properly got away for a night! The outside shower was our highlight - it was AMAZING! we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and seeing the Nguni cows in the morning was such a treat! We are so thankful to Sue and her staff, they are EXCEPTIONAL!

We just struggled with the lights in the main bedroom bathroom & 2nd bedroom, we didn’t know how to turn them off. We just struggled with the water pressure for the inside shower

Wow what a beautiful setting! The Cottage we stayed in, had everything you could hope to have for your stay. The big green egg to cook with, the bluetooth speaker, the complimentary wine & biscuits & coffee were particularly nice touches! The view from the outside shower was also one of the highlights! The Karkloof Canopy Tour nearby is also highly recommended for a fun activity set in beautiful surroundings with stunning views!

The cottage was as advertised and had a lovely warming fire for the cold nights. The view across the fields was amazing. All in all a perfect location for our family weekend.

Beautiful, peaceful, and amazing! It was well worth it, and we will be back! Amazing views and beautiful scenery. The cottage is lovely. The kids swam in the dam, and the fish nibbled our toes. Highly recommended for mountain biking and hiking. It is also perfectly peaceful to sit back and enjoy a good book. The main farmhouse is divine and highly recommended for a larger family or group. It is absolutely stunning and a luxurious getaway.

The property is stunning, comfortable and very well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful. We were 3 couples and 2 children - the space accommodated us easily.

Would be nice if gas heaters were provided as the power went off and with it, the electric heaters which left the place cold.

Such a beautiful location. The cottage itself has been stylishly designed with incredible attention to detail....the best part, the comfortable beds which were so luxurious.
