A truly welcoming, warm, and loving place and it very much reflects its hosts 💖 The place is impeccably clean, spacious and thoughtfully arranged, with a well-equipped kitchen and amazing beds. Surf classes with João and Carlos are awesome: small groups, good vibes, and very good teaching. I had a wonderful stay 💖 Thank you so much, Vania and Carlos! Can’t wait to be back.

Emplacement parfait entre les différents spots de surf, facile de se garer. Surfhouse très conviviale, on se sent vraiment bien. Je vous recommande de prendre un cours avec Carlos, très pédagogue et vous fait découvrir en sécurité sur les spots alentours.

I had an incredible stay! The hostel was very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The surf classes were one of the highlights of my stay. The instructors are excellent and always make an effort to find the best surf spots and conditions for each session. I’m extremely happy with the lessons — they really helped me improve my technique and take my surfing skills to the next level. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for a great hostel combined with high-quality surf lessons. I’d happily come back! 🏄‍♂️🌊

I’ve stayed in a lot of guest houses and hostels in my time when solo travelling and never have I felt so unwelcome in a space, almost like an intruder in a place I’ve paid for. I had a warm welcome from the man who co-owns the place, I then asked the lady the next morning who co-owns it if I could move room due to being close to the kitchen and a snoring roommate - which I totally understand can be inevitable when choosing a dorm, but all I wanted was a good night of sleep. Her response was ‘’this isn’t Gaza, we’re all privileged.’’ To compare a matter to Gaza is sick in the head, and she goes on saying no one’s ever complained before. When really, all I did was ask to move, utterly shocked by her response. From this interaction I felt unwelcome in a place with an odd atmosphere. I then decided to leave as I felt like I was wasting my time in Portugal in a place which hasn’t got good energy. The lady doesn’t even ask why I’m leaving, when I try to explain she can’t look me in the eye and doesn’t listen. I am so disappointed with this stay as the place is clean and nice. But never have I been treated this way, it definitely tainted my whole trip, such a shame!

Carlos and Vania were Super nice!!! Rooms exceptionally tidy clean, all was simply outstanding!! So Grateful and long to repeat!!!!

Es ist ein absoluter Wohlfühlort. Die Atmosphäre ist offen, freundlich, ruhig und entspannt. Vania und Carlos helfen einem immer, die Küche ist super ausgestattet, die Betten sind bequem und so gut es geht privat und es gibt genug Stauraum. Die Surfkurse sind individuell fördernd und die Massagen wohltuend und heilsam - beides absolut 10/10. Danke für diesen schönen Ort! Bis zum nächsten Mal!

I had an incredibly wonderful stay. The house is beautiful, there’s a pleasant atmosphere there, and it was exactly to my taste. The massage and yoga class were excellent. The location is great. Beaches and scenic spots are within walking distance. I would come back anytime.

Die Gastgeber haben einem sofort ein warmes und herzliches Gefühl vermittelt und einen sofort willkommen geheißen - fühlte sich ein bisschen an wie zu Hause. Ein perfekter Ort zum Runterkommen und Abschalten. Ich wäre echt gerne noch länger geblieben.

Its very nice and cosy. Room was clean and pretty. Bathroom was Shared but private. Nice bakery and Beach Almost around the corner. Nice outside area. Vania the owner is a Beautiful Soul and her massages Are unique.

Its Not a Hostel Like I knew before with 100 people. Just Met my roommates. Yoga unfortunately is Not every day.

Fui a desconectar un poco del caos de Lisboa y la verdad es que fue perfecto. Sus dueños son muy amorosos y todas las instalaciones un diez, la cocina fue mi parte favorita súper amplia y equipada para cocinar lo que si era un poco lejos de todo. Ósea que se queres hacer mucha actividad social es súper importante estar en auto por qué si bien el Uber a veces es barato si empiezas a sumar capaz no te conviene. Pero si vas a hacer vida tranquila de casa, playa y tranquilidad va perfecto!

Wow. Well, what can I say? An incredible stay at Surf Yoga. Carlos and his wife have made a beautiful and welcoming guest house. The energy is perfect and sharing the space with the family is a delight! Views overlooking the amazing surrounding surf spots. A short walk or bus from the town centre. Super quiet. Spotlessly clean. Can’t ask for more. Massage was the best I’ve ever experienced! Surfing lessons were top quality and Carlos had me up and going in one day! Yoga was the best way to start or finish the day too! Thank you so much for a week I’ll never forget!

Perhaps I should say this hotel is awful to maximize my chances of getting a room next time I want to go back. But I can't bring myself to tarnish the image of Vania, Carlos, their two awsome children and João, who are exceptional people with a real sense of hospitality and human connection. They are the king of people who inspire me; I'll never forget them !

I really enjoyed my stay! The hosts Carlos & Vanja are 2 beautiful conscious beings and really care about their guests 💖. Quality surf & yoga classes! 👌 The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable & the bathroom is biiig. The house has a peaceful & relaxing energy.

This is definitely a place worth visiting. The hosts are friendly and attentive. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless, there’s plenty of space to unwind and relax, and the kitchen is excellent. I’d particularly like to mention the mattresses and pillows – I slept like a log. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to relax. Thank you!

Amazing family that runs the place, lots of space to chill, big garden but also balconies so there is always sun! Nice kitchen you can use, good surf lessons, nice massage. It was just overall amazing!!!

Didn’t stay long enough

Such a lovely hosting family and a great unique hostel!! Cleanest, best-equipped hostel with most comfortable bunk beds I have ever experienced! Extraordinary, wonderful concept! Great location! I will definitely come back if I visit Portugal again! 🧡

The only small minus is that there are only two shared bathrooms. But if all guests are considerate/thoughtful and don't take everlooong showers, it works surprisingly well! 😅

I'm so happy I have found this hostel, which is very clean, calm, artsy and spacious. I was starting my day with a yoga practice each morning in the yoga room. There is a big living room and garden, leaving lots of space to connect with others but also to find alone time :) Everything is made with love, beautiful art on the walls. The hosts are super friendly and help out with anything you need! I can really recommend to stay here, if you are looking for a grounding and calm time. Will definitely come back, thank you!

Ho trascorso alcuni giorni meravigliosi in questa struttura. Carlos e Vania sono padroni di casa accoglienti e disponibili, sempre attenti alle esigenze degli ospiti senza mai essere invadenti. Gli spazi sono curati, pulitissimi e si respira un’atmosfera molto piacevole e familiare. La posizione è ideale e tutto è organizzato con estrema cura. Consigliatissimo, tornerò sicuramente!

Surf Yoga was such a great find!! The place has a really calm and relaxing vibe, perfect to unwind. Vania was super welcoming and friendly and makes everyone feel super comfortable. The house was incredibly clean and everything smelled so nice, which made the stay even better. I’d definitely stay here again!!! it felt like a little peaceful escape.

Tolles Haus mit schöner Atmosphäre. Nette Besitzer die auch im Haus wohnen. Alles sehr sauber. Küche enorm gut ausgestattet, wie eine Gastronomie Küche. Das ist selten...Viele Balkone, Terasse, man kann viel Zeit draussen verbringen wenn man möchte. Nahe am Strand. Zu Fuß ist man gleich am Meer, schöne Wanderwege direkt über dem Meer auf den Klippen oder am STrand. Surferstrand. Eine kleine Burg direkt in der Nähe zum besichtigen. Etwas weiter ist Ericeira der Ort, aber auch ein schöner Walk. kleiner supermarkt in der Nähe. Das Haus ist innen aussen sehr schön bemalt.

nur 2 Badezimmer für viele Leute. Aber die Bäder waren stets pikobello Sauber. Manchmal gab es aber einen Engpass... weitere Yoga Kurse wären toll. Aber ich glaube die meisten kamen zum surfen hier her.

Guest house speciale perché gestita da persone speciali. Un ringraziamento in particolare a Vania che è di una gentilezza infinita, ci ha accolti da subito come degli amici, abbiamo condiviso delle piacevoli chiacchierate. La nostra camera era perfetta, completa di tutto il necessario, un letto comodissimo, un phon per capelli molto potente che ho apprezzato avendo i capelli molto lunghi! 😂 L’intera casa è arredata con gusto, ci sono molti spazi per rilassarsi in tranquillità o godere delle varie attività interessanti che offre la struttura. Siamo stati molto bene e la consigliamo per soggiorno medio-breve a Ericeira. Speriamo di ritornare a breve! Chiara e Davide 😘

I had such an awesome stay at Surf Yoga Ericeira 🌞 it’s a clean, cosy but spacious beach house in a peaceful suburb with a beautiful ocean view! I really felt at home here i was welcomed warmly by Vânia and Carlos (and their cool kids) who do an amazing job of managing the place and go out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a great time! Aside from being super friendly and kind they were also very knowledgeable about the town and the activities offered, I had been to Ericeira before but really learnt a lot more about the town, beaches, restaurants etc from their helpful advice. I ended up extending my stay here because I felt so comfortable and content after a couple months of solo backpacking - I would highly recommend for chilled solo adventurers who are looking for a fun and friendly but peaceful spot :) thankyou again to this lovely host family I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, met some great people and would come back for sure!

L’endroit est très chaleureux, nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous, Carlos et Vania sont très accueillants et bienveillants. Le logement est a proximité des plages, rien à dire sur le propreté tout était parfait. La cuisine est très fonctionnelle et l’extérieur est très bien aménagé. Je recommande ce logement.

I came here as a solo traveler to do some yoga and surfing, and this hostel turned out to be an absolute dream. What I especially loved is that they also have private rooms – and I honestly slept better than I have in a long time. Vania and Carlos are such warm and welcoming hosts, and I know this won’t be my last stay here. It was the perfect balance between having time for myself and still being able to connect with others. Honestly, it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had.

Comfortable, good vibes, near a few surfing beaches , reachable by walk if you don’t have a car , it’s perfect. They also have yoga and surfing classes and several types of massages for those who are interested all in one Place

Las habitaciones son amplias, limpias y las camas muy cómodas. Hay espacios comunes muy acogedores que cuentan con jardin y cocina. El hostel esta situado en una zona tranquila, con fácil aparcamiento y playas muy bonitas cercas. Carlos nos recibió y nos dio muy buenas recomendaciones de donde ir y comer.

Está alejado del centro de Ericeira (45 min andando), pero se puede ir en coche y aparcar antes de entrar en el centro (5min).

I couldn’t recommend this hostel more! It’s hosted by the kindest people, Carlos and Vania. This was my first solo trip, and I stayed for two nights by myself and two with a friend. From the moment I arrived, Vania made me feel completely at home. 10/10 – I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely nothing

I had wonderful stay in Ericeira. The house is beautiful, full of art and plants and owned by a wonderful family. Vania has a very warm character and you can have wonderful conversations with her. Carlos is a great surf coach and made me feel safe and accompanied me to a clinic when I had a small surf accident. I had a private room (Air) with bathroom with an Ocean view balcony. It’s a pretty room that fits up to 3 people. The bed was very comfortable, I loved the pillow. There is a big planner board in the living room with the schedules for yoga lessons, surf classes, surf skate lessons and optional breakfast for the upcoming days. Everyone can sign up for what they are interested in. The house is in a more quiet neighborhood not directly in town but the walk there gets by very fast because you get beautiful ocean views the whole time. I am very thankful I choose this place for my stay and I really hope I will have the opportunity to come back and try some surf skate lessons and one of Vanias massages.

Two night stay. Staff seemed mostly disinterested in guests. No one there when I arrived. Or the following day. No breakfast or dinner available as advertised. Guests left to sort things out for themselves. I came over a holiday and were told that the staff would be “off” with limited amenities available. Perhaps bad timing, but would’ve been nice to have known in advance.

I think it was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. It is not crowded and you can relax, chill, have yoga or surfing class there. The owners are amazing. Hope I will come back soon. It is not closed to the city center, but for me it was an advantage.

The house is extraordinarily maintained. The whole house is super clean and we have everything we need. It‘s a very quite place to recharge and just be. I also had a massage with Vania, one of the owners and can definitely recommend it!

The area is quite a while from the city centre and it‘s best to rent a scooter or bike for going around. Though there are very nice beaches and a store, a restaurant and a bakery all within a walking distance. So we have everything we need but the house is — especially in low season — rather for disconnecting instead of connecting. So it‘s all a matter of needs I guess.

Carlos and Vania are amazing and the place is just as amazing, quiet and close to great surf spots. Carlos is a great surf coach and the place has everything you need to enjoy a day of surfing or hiking the fisherman’s trail. There is an amazing yoga studio with class almost every day. Vania and Carlos are amazing cooks and the meals I had there were great. I also took time out for a massage offered by Vania which was also amazing. Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to come back in the future. Thanks Carlos and Vania,, loved being with you and your family.
