Cozy Apartment in Vintage House in Kandersteg

The house is very well located, and everything was clean and comfortable, exactly as shown in the pictures. The parking area is spacious enough for three cars. The view was amazing and we had a wonderful stay. 100% recommended 👌

Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile per ogni necessità. Rispondono velocemente e trovano soluzioni. La struttura è molto spaziosa può accogliere diverse persone. La posizione è buona rispetto al centro del paese. Cucina completa a disposizione e anche alcuni beni necessari per cucinare (sale, spezie, caffè…) e per pulire. Il self check-in è molto comodo. Accettano cani che è un altro punto a favore. Anche i tre parcheggi privati sono un punto forte. I prezzi in media con i dintorni. Bella la terrazza esterna.

L’accesso alla struttura prevede una scalinata di legno che può essere scomodo per chi ha bambini o ha limitazioni fisiche. I soffitti sono molto bassi, per chi supera 1.80m c’è rischio di colpire la testa in diversi punti (cosa successa). C’è un solo bagno anche se la struttura può accogliere 8 persone. La moquette è risaputa essere difficile da pulire e igienizzare e l’appartamento è vecchio e disomogeneo nello stile.

sehr schöne Aussicht von der Wohnung, direkt an der Hauptstrasse, zu Fuss von Bahnhof in 10 min zu erreichen. Sehr freundliche und flexibele Gastgeber.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille. L’emplacement est idéal et l’appartement est agréable, conforme à la description. Tout était correct et nous nous sommes sentis à l’aise dès notre arrivée. L’échange avec les propriétaires a été fluide. Malgré un petit malentendu lors de la réservation, ils ont été compréhensifs et ont simplement réajusté le prix, sans nous sanctionner, ce que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Il y a tout le nécessaire en ustensiles pour cuisiner. Seul petit point à améliorer : seulement deux plaques de la gazinière fonctionnent sur quatre, et un micro-ondes serait appréciable pour réchauffer plus facilement.

At first house may look old, but when you arrive, you will notice that every other house looks like that, we really liked the traditional look. Also the inside looked great and was really comfortable, me and my family had a very nice stay. There is enough space for kids. The views were great in that location, you could also see cows near the house, it was really funny. The spot is perfect to walk to the other atracctions, it just takes 10-15 minutes. We worried about our chargers not fitting into the charging plugs but there were some adapters there. The host were friendly and communicative and made sure we knew everything. I would definitely recommend it if you plan to stay in Kandersteg!

Very great location if you want to go on beautiful hikes. Just roughly a 10-15 minute walk to the base of the mountain to start the hike so you don’t have to worry about parking or any of that because the house has parking. As well as that the hosts were very responsive and answered all questions I had. Couldn’t be happier with this booking and highly recommend this if traveling to Kandersteg and want a great accommodation and location for a scenic trip.

Die Ferienwohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was einen angenehmen Aufenthalt aus macht und sehrgeräumig. Besonders zu erwähnen ist die Ausstattung der Küche, alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Salz, Zucker,Öl, Kaffee, Tee usw. Der Schüsseltresor ist gut zu finden und somit ist die Anreise auch zum späteren Zeitpunkt unkompliziert. Ein großes Lob an den Vermieter

Very cosy apartment. Well equipped. We had a good and comfortable stay. Definitely will come back!

The location was really nice.

The chalet is quite old and a bit run down from outside. Additionally the lighting is quite poor inside the chalet. The kitchen is quite basic and the toaster does not function properly and burnt all our bread. The television is outdated with the speakers not working well. Do not expect a warm ‘stay at home’ feeling as the owners are here to make money. Its super commercial. Usually with air bnb you would expect it to be warm welcome and little understanding from the owner. My father is diabetic and needs to have breakfast before we leave. I was 30 mins late in checking out and the owner threatened us to charge 100 CHF more. Additionally, with chalet’s you often deal with owners and its important that the owners are nice so if you are looking for an easy relaxed holiday without any hassle then this is not the right home for you. If you just want a bed to sleep then its okay.

De locatie was super, alles was op loopafstand. Ook was er meer dan voldoende keukengerei aanwezig, erg fijn. Het uitzicht was super. Ook fijne communicatie met de hosts.

Het was wel erg laag, gelukkig zijn wij niet zo lang maar lange mensen kunnen hier goed hun hoofd stoten ;).

The vintage charm of the house adds a special character, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain views. Our kids especially enjoyed the stay—they had plenty of space to play and loved exploring the surroundings. Our host was kind, responsive, and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended for families or anyone visiting Kandersteg and looking for an authentic, cozy experience in the Swiss Alps. We’d definitely love to come back!

Nothing every thing was perfect

The apartment is spacious and well-equipped for cooking, with a fully functional kitchen that made it easy to prepare meals. The dining area is pleasant, featuring a large window with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. The town itself is charming, with great local restaurants and bars offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The internet connection was excellent, and the TV worked well. The apartment has multiple rooms, making it a good fit for families or groups looking for a base in the area.

Unfortunately, the house is not as secluded as it appears in the photos—it’s located right on a rather noisy road. The entrance to the property felt neglected and was not very clean. Upon arrival, we had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs. Inside the apartment, there was a musty smell and a heavy, stuffy atmosphere. Opening the windows brought in a large number of flies and mosquitoes, which made things uncomfortable. The terrace, which looks inviting in the photos, is actually located one floor below the apartment, directly facing the street, and was quite run-down. While the host was polite and responsive, no alternative solutions were offered for the issues we encountered.

Amazing location, very clean house, some oil, spices, teas, etc. in the kitchen

We thought we’re renting the whole house but instead it was just an apartment (which is clearly stated in the title but we somehow missed it, totally our fault)

The apartment is confortable, spacious and very well equipped, walking distance from key shops and skilifts. We had everything we needed during our stay and we appreciated having coffee, teas etc available to us in the house given that we only stay for a couple of nights.

Lovely views, clean with lots of facilities, we only stayed for somewhere to sleep so didn't really use much but for a group or large family this place would be great, everything you need to cook a meal, even has a washing machine. The map on the wall was a cute idea, you can stick a pin in from where you have come from 😊 nice to see all the visitors you have had from across the world! All in all a nice place, very good value if there are a few of you! Thank you for a pleasant stay 🙂

We arrived quite late and it was a little daunting going up the dark stairs to the apartment, once inside though there are pretty fairy lights you can put on to make it all cosy. We struggled to get out of the apartment when we left as the key was a bit difficult to use.

Got many stairs if you have a lot of luggage be careful need to carry up to the stairs.
