Great facilities, helpful staff

Not the best location

The deposit of 90 euro was taken from us and from that amount we paid 60 euro for the parking, on the morning of the next day after we left there was still 90 euro taken from our account even though the 30 euro was supposed to come back automatically, we had to call the hotel to get that checked, we got the information that the 90 euro changed into 60 euro and only the smaller amount would finally be taken, the amount taken was still 90 and it had changed only after calling the hotel. This kind of mistakes are unacceptable in hotels of this quality because we had to call and take care of that even though we were promissed there would be no problems Waldek

Staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was fresh with many options. Location very easy to access public transport.

Die Rezeption war sehr nett und hat immer weitergeholfen. Zimmer sind sehr groß mit viel Stauraum, sehr sauber.

Ein wenig hellhörig, das zuziehen der Eingangstüren ist es sehr laut.

Everything was good, comfortable rooms, good service. I would recommend a room with a view to a quiet inner Yard. The place is near and also distant from a city center busy streets, easily accessible with the Tram.

Some details need attention, few places need touch-up. For example carpet and the bathroom.

Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. The room was spacious, very clean, and everything felt modern and well maintained. The hotel itself is in excellent condition, and we had no issues during our stay. The location is one of the biggest advantages. It is easy to reach the city centre either on foot or by public transport. The hotel is close to a train station, and there are also tram and bus stops nearby, making it very convenient to get around Munich.

The only issue in the room was the shower head. It would not stay fixed in position and kept moving, so it had to be held by hand while taking a shower. It is a small maintenance issue, but it would make a big difference if fixed. One thing worth mentioning is the breakfast. We decided not to book it because we found the price (around €30 per person) too expensive. There are plenty of nice cafés and bakeries within walking distance where you can have a very good breakfast for much less, so we don’t think the hotel breakfast is necessary. The only negative experience happened during check-in. While we were speaking with the receptionist, another staff member (lady with dark hair) interrupted our conversation to speak with him in German. We understand that urgent situations can happen, but interrupting guests in the middle of check-in without even waiting a moment felt unprofessional and disrespectful. A more polite approach would have left a much better impression.

Very easy to get to transit. The first day we walked to the Old Town, beautiful walk but every day after we took transit. Lots of food options nearby.

Our three-week family stay (almost €5,000) at Courtyard by Marriott Munich City East was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we encountered repeated operational failures, broken promises, reservation errors, inconsistent housekeeping, poor breakfast service, and a complete lack of accountability. Despite paying for premium accommodation and raising issues as they occurred, the hotel consistently failed to deliver the service promised and made little effort to resolve the problems. The biggest disappointment was management’s response. Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering solutions, our concerns were dismissed, and the interaction felt defensive and confrontational. As frequent Marriott guests, we expect far higher standards of service, professionalism, and customer care. Unfortunately, this property fell well below those expectations, and I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

Gute ÖPNV-Anbindung, ausreichend Platz in den Zimmern, sehr nettes Personal. Auch positiv überrascht, dass ich eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit zum Geburtstag bekommen habe.

Die Nähe zum Ostbahnhof und dem Zentrum ist perfekt. Modern, sauber, freundliches Personal.

Der Preis fürs Frühstück ist unangemessen hoch. Wir haben verzichtet und uns in den umliegenden Cafés gestärkt.

Ein angenehm ruhiges Hotel in recht günstiger Lage- man ist schnell am Ostbahnhof und erreicht dort viele der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Zimmer sind sauber und gut eingerichtet; das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Das Frühstücksangebot ist reichlich, allerdings habe ich festgestellt, dass das Aufschnittangebot immer gleich war(ich war aber nur 3Tage Gast)

I am writing this review with deep disappointment and anger. We chose this hotel because we trusted the Marriott brand and its corporate standards, but what we experienced was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Before our arrival, we sent specific requests regarding our stay, but none of them were accommodated or even acknowledged by the staff. Upon entering our rooms, 243 and 233, we were shocked by the terrible cleanliness and hygiene. The entire space was extremely dusty, the toilets were filthy, and the bathroom trash can was broken and wouldn't open. There were no tissues provided in the rooms, and to make matters worse, we were appalled to find half-used toilet paper rolls from previous guests instead of new ones. We even found bugs inside our room, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel under the Marriott umbrella. Furthermore, we experienced a shocking lack of respect for our privacy and personal property. Someone deliberately damaged my belongings; two of the durable stickers on my suitcase, which can only be removed by intentionally scratching them with fingernails, were found scratched off and lying on the floor. Our privacy was also completely violated when staff entered our room despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign being clearly displayed on the door. It seems you have to keep the door double-locked at all times to prevent people from barging into your private space. Most alarmingly, there was a major security breach during our stay. The room key cards are programmed so poorly that they actually unlock other guests' rooms, and some of the doors do not close and latch properly, posing a massive security risk. Despite contacting the hotel management during our stay to resolve these critical issues, we received absolutely no response or return. This was a nightmare experience that completely ruined our comfort and sense of security, and I highly advise everyone to stay away from this property.

Staff sempre gentile e disponibile, hanno risposto a qualsiasi domanda anche tramite APP sempre molto in fretta. Ottima posizione per raggiungere il centro, anche se un po' spostati, tutto è connesso molto bene.

Frühstück mit guter Auswahl. Es gibt die Möglickeit auch draussen zu sitzen. Gute Anbindung in die Stadt. Zwei Buslinien in unmittelbarer Nähe die zum Chin. Turm fahren.

Tilava ja viihtyisä huone ja erittäin hyvä sänky. Aamiainen oli monipuolinen ja maukas. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Sijainti oli mainio.

Ładny hotel w dogodnej lokalizacji, z której łatwo można dojechać albo podejść dłuższym spacerem do centrum. Bardzo miły i pomocny personel. Pokoje są przytulne i dobrze wyciszone.

Nice hotel, close to Ostbahnhof, so it is easy to move around Munich. Good breakfast!

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, sodass wir oft zu Fuß in die Innenstadt gegangen sind. Es ist sehr gepflegt und man fühlt sich wohl. Das Parken in der Tiefgarage hat auch unkompliziert geklappt und in der Nähe ist die Straßenbahnhaltestelle und der Ostbahnhof. Das Frühstück war auch gut und beinhaltet auch Heiß- und Kaltgetränke. Die Auswahl ist groß und es gibt auch vegetarische und vegane Alternativen.

Uns hat alles gut gefallen. Allerdings war es beim Frühstück sehr voll, sodass man kurzzeitig keinen Platz gefunden hat und es Schwierigkeiten gab, Besteck zu bekommen. Ansonsten ist das Frühstück super und das Personal auch wirklich sehr bemüht und freundlich.

Convenient location near Munich‘s East train station with multiple connections to anywhere in the city or around. Staff was nice and very responsive through the booking.com platform. Breakfast food was good. Rooms were clean.

I didn’t realize when booking that the Courtyard and the Residence Inn are one connected property with a shared ground floor restaurant space. It’s a huge complex that attracts tour buses. This made for an extremely busy and loud breakfast experience. Adding an extra bed for a child made the one room feel extremely cramped especially because the TV is weirdly mounted on a rolling rack/stand and is bigger than the wall that it is „on“. We constantly felt like we were going to knock over the TV and we stubbed our toes a few times.
