There are a 1-2 flights of stairs, maybe not as accessible for everyone. But worth it if stairs are no problem for you 🤗

Excellent hospitality, immaculate cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and a peaceful environment. The overall atmosphere made for an exceptional stay. Very friendly and humble owners. Breakfast was string hoppers we had an authentic Sri Lankan taste and excellent. We will come back next time.

Perfect verblijf.

Exceptional breakfast, abundant, home cooked, fresh squeezed , generous to a fault. Flavour, variety, quantity, quality, all beyond expectation. Wonderful. Honestly wonderful! Warm and friendly hosts, who offered to do our laundry, and brought in our dry clothes that we'd hand washed! Quite possibly the very best location in Matale, with a lush mountain behind the house, a beautifully tended garden, and a wide deck from which to view the full splendor of the Knuckles Range. The town is about a kilometre away, an easy walk going down, more challenging coming back up, but an excellent way to stay fit and mitigate against all the glorious food that Matale ( and our hosts! ) offer.

Our room did not have a bedside lamp. We bought one to use, and leave behind, in gratitude for our host's generosity. The only improvement that I can think of, would for both sides of the huge bed, to be supplied with bedside tables and reading lamps.

Ein kleiner Kocher wäre toll. Recht abgelegen kein Supermarkt oder ähnliches in der Nähe für uns kein Problem hatten ein Tuc tuc.

Die Gastgeber sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Auch das Zimmer war sauber und wie beschrieben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt:)

Every meal was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with great care, love, and attention to detail. The quality and variety of the food were outstanding and truly one of the highlights of our stay. The couple Ranjan & Pearl are very nice & helpful. The unit is below theirs but you get privacy. Large terrace. Nice view.

The place has a nice view and you can see the entire mathale town from the balcony. The host was very friendly and made us very healthy and tasty brakefast. Good value for the money. Situated in a calm silent environment.

An amazing place with a stunning view! The host is incredibly attentive and always ready to help. The breakfast was delicious and, what's even better, served at a convenient time for me. They also provided me with a space for my training sessions, which is highly valuable to me as an athlete. Highly recommend!

The only downsides are that it's a bit inconvenient having the restroom located separately.

The view from the room was absolutely perfect, it was very clean and the hosts were awesome. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they helped us with every requirement we had. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom was very clean as well. The breakfast was really nice as well.

We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The hotel’s convenient location provided easy access to all major tourist attractions.

De eigenaren waren heel vriendelijk. Er was wat verwarring op het begin met de kamers maar dat werd snel opgelost. Want de kamer in het huis heeft geen airco, de grotere aparte kamer met keuken heeft dit wel! Het ontbijt was elke ochtend heerlijk. Het uitzicht vanaf het terras was super. De eigenaar heeft een leuk tuintje met allemaal gewassen. Ze konden de was voor je doen en dachten met je mee. De ervaring ansich was erg leuk. Vanuit daar zijn we een dag met de tuktuk naar Riverston gegaan voor een wandeling. We zijn 2 nachten gebleven.

Er zijn veel trappen. Dit was niet ideaal met onze jonge zoon. We hebben het gemanaged maar we konden hem dus niet alleen rond laten lopen. Daarnaast maakte de airco in onze kamer veel lawaai.

Chilled out place with very pleasant owners who are nice to talk to. Location is nice and has a gorgeous view too, easy place to go on a walk from. Clean and modern tiling in bathroom + bedroom. Breakfast was solid.

Mosquito vaporizer or soffell could have been nice but its really not a big deal considering what you get for the price

I had a very pleasant stay at this homestay. The place was neat and clean, and everything was well maintained. The service was very good and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a comfortable place to stay. ⭐ Highly recommended

Pearl and her husband were wonderful hosts. I enjoyed the great views complementary cups of tea and chats whilst sitting on the balcony . I Would highly recommend their guest house.

Matale is een onontdekte parel. En de host van deze homestay helpt je die te ontdekken. Heeft veel kennis van de natuur en omgeving. En is gewoon ontzettend aardig. Veel te doen en de natuur is prachtig. Vergeet alle Spice gardens. In de tuin en het dorpje vind je alle kruiden van SL. Ongerept en authentiek. De gastheer kan hikes regelen, maar ook een relaxte wandeling. Taxi naar tempels, andere plaatsen of transfer volgende verblijf ook. Goed ontbijt. Fijne kamer. Kortom: als je het echte SL wil leren kennen vanuit een comfortabel verblijf dan is dit een aanrader

Niks. Houd er rekening mee dat je tijdig bedenkt of overlegd wat en waar je wilt eten. Mogelijk brengt Pizza hut uitkomst.

A hidden little place with nice balcony to stay and reconnect with nature. The lovely couple who owns the place are so kind and helpful, and we enjoyed very tasty breakfasts every morning — especially eating on the balcony surrounded by greenery. 🥰 They even arranged a tuk tuk for us to visit Riverston at a good price, making our trip even more special.

Pearl and her husband made us instantly welcome in their lovely home in the hills overlooking Matale. We wish we could have stayed longer! We really enjoyed chatting to Pearl about the history of Matale and her school experiences growing up there. She cooked us a delicious evening meal and breakfast. And we enjoyed an evening walk up into the forest above the house. Thank you!

Pearls was an excellent find! I was on my way from Sigirya into knuckles by motorbike and it had been raining so I needed to stop to consider my route. Matale doesn't have much in the way for foreign tourists but it is extremely central to many attractions. The owners are super nice and have great english abilities. I had a few lovely chats. The room is very clean and has everything I needed. The bathroom is large and clean. The garden is very beautiful. Wifi works well and there is a covered for my motorbike. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was perfect!

Pour bien commencer, les hôtes étaient absolument adorables. Ils nous ont aidés, conseillés et étaient aux petits soins avec nous. Les lieux sont nickels, chambres et toilettes superbes, de même pour le petit déjeuner. L'hôtel n'est pas en centre ville mais ce n'est absolument pas dérangeant car on y est vite et c'est aussi plus calme la nuit. Ma fille et moi-même avons adoré, merci encore aux propriétaires ! Nous recommandons.

Nous avons passé une nuit absolument merveilleuse chez Ranjan et Pearl à Matale. L’appartement est spacieux, impeccable, très confortable, avec même une petite cuisine si besoin. Mais ce qui rend l’endroit vraiment exceptionnel, c’est la vue : les cocotiers juste devant la terrasse et, au loin, les montagnes des Knuckles. Le lever de soleil à travers les palmiers le matin était tout simplement magique. Le petit déjeuner était incroyable : extrêmement copieux, délicieux, entièrement fait maison et préparé spécialement pour nous. Un vrai moment de bonheur. Pendant que nous prenions notre thé sur la terrasse, nous avons vu des singes, des écureuils, de nombreux oiseaux et de magnifiques papillons — un spectacle naturel permanent. Ranjan a été d’une générosité et d’une chaleur rares. Il nous a montré les plantes qu’il cultive avec passion, nous a expliqué énormément de choses sur la région et la forêt d’épices alentour. Il nous a même emmenés voir son quartier d’enfance et nous a présenté des membres de sa famille. Nous nous sommes sentis accueillis comme des proches, presque comme en famille. Il s’est également occupé d’organiser notre aller-retour à Sigiriya avec un chauffeur très sympathique, ce qui nous a énormément facilité le séjour. Un endroit authentique, chaleureux, humain, entouré d’une nature magnifique. Nous recommandons sans hésiter — une expérience fabuleuse.

Pearl und ihr Mann sind so liebenswert, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist sensationell gut, sowie auch das Dinner abends. Wir waren stark erkältet, sie begleiteten uns zu einer bekannten Ayurvedischen Ärztin die uns mit Ayurvedischen Medikamenten versorgte, die unseren Husten schnell linderten. Er ging mit uns in einen Gewürze Shop wo wir beste Gewürze zu lokalen Preisen einkaufen konnten. Auf der großen Veranda konnten wir jede Menge Tiere beobachten und das leckere Essen genießen, unser Zimmer und Bad waren groß und außergewöhnlich sauber. Wir haben so wundervolle, unvergessliche und herzliche Tage hier bei dieser Familie auf Sri Lanka erlebt, vielen Dank nochmals von Karl und Renate

We had a great stay. Ranjan is so friendly, he made us feel very welcome. The view and the garden are beautiful. And breakfast was really yummy. The room itself is spacious, clean, air-conditioned and has facilities like a private kitchenette and bathroom. We hope to visit again.

We hebben een hele fijne tijd gehad tijdens ons verblijf hier! De familie is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze hebben zelfs een chauffeur voor ons geregeld zodat we de mooiste plekken in de omgeving konden ontdekken. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en typisch Sri Lankaans, elke ochtend weer een verrassing. De kamer was netjes en comfortabel. Echt een aanrader voor iedereen die een warme, gastvrije ervaring zoekt in Sri Lanka! 🌿🇱🇰

The place is a very big house sourrounded by gigant trees and beautiful plants. We had a very big bedroom with a huge comfortable bed. We just stayed for one night but it would be delightful to spend more days. The place is runned by a family, the parents are just incredible. Both. He showed us all the trees he planted years ago and explained to us how everything worked. And the mother was super kind and chatty!! Super nice to have a chat with her. The place is high so you can enjoy the incredible view of the mountains and the city. It's not far from the city, but you feel lost in nature, which is a total relief! The breakfast was delicious, many things, fruit, toast, bread, omelette, tea, coffe... 100% recommended.

Habìamos reservado la habitación de la foto, con cocina y baño interior, pero cuando llegamos ya había otros huéspedes y nos dieron otra dentro de la casa. No nos importa, son tan amables que nos dio igual. La estancia fue muy buena y el desayuno muy rico. Recomendable.

Pearl and Rajith are friendly, knowledgeable and caring hosts. We found them as very passionate couple who always made sure our stay was an enjoyable one. The homestay is located in a serene location central to all amenities. We enjoyed the home made Sri Lankan breakfast with the seasonal fruits.

Tuvimos una amable acogida por el anfitrión, una persona muy amable y que cuida cada detalle. El alojamiento está impecable y en un entorno bonito alejado del ruido de la ciudad. Buen desayuno que incluye fruta cultivada por el anfitrión en su jardín. Lugar recomendable.

Reservé para dos noches y me quedé cuatro. Pearl y Ranjan fueron muy hospitalarios, me hicieron sentir como en casa. Además la terraza del alojamiento da mucha paz. Un sitio perfecto para desconectar. Muy recomendable

Staying with Uncle + Aunty has been like stepping into a second home. Aunty the breakfast was like sunshine on a plate, a warm, gentle embrace. The dhal reminded me of my grandma, dancing with spice and love. Uncle, your quiet attentiveness made each moment effortless. We hebben genoten van de verhalen en behulpzaamheid van de vriendelijke eigenaar. Hij heeft een mooie tour voor ons geregeld door de Knuckle Mountain Range met twee tuktuks. En ook een chauffeur geregeld naar onze volgende bestemming. Het terras heeft een fantastisch uitzicht en het is leuk om naar de eekhoorntjes te kijken. De apen lieten zich helaas niet zien toen we er waren. Misschien door het slechte weer. Ontbijt was lekker en ook de gebakken rijst die hij de eerste avond voor ons had gehaald was lekker.

We hadden het grote appartement en een tweepersoonskamer in het huis. Het is even wennen dat je door het huis van de eigenaars loopt. Maar dit is niet echt kritiek, meer goed om rekening mee te houden.

Prachtig gelegen in de natuur aan de rand van de stad. Heerlijk terras met uitzicht op de stad. Ontspannen terwijl je eekhoorntjes ziet spelen. Zeer vriendelijke gastheer die je graag meer vertelt.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at Pearl’s Homestay in Matale town 🔥, and it was a nice place with a superb view. The uncle and aunty were very nice and friendly, making us feel at home during our stay ❤️. They arranged a scooty for us at a very reasonable price, which made it easy to visit nearby places. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed every meal 🥰. Highly recommend Pear’s Homestay if you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Matale.

The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. They treated us like their own children as we were recovering from the chikungunya virus and were unable to walk properly. They made sure we felt at home and the room was very well maintained.

The TV is not exactly usable in the room I stayed in. There needs to be a microwave for the price and type of room I paid for. There needs to be more bedsheets and pillows provided as the area gets cold. Maybe use clear white professional linen over the old school home use ones. A BBQ on the terrace would rock the spot!

Lovely lovely guesthouse run by an older couple. Food was incredible! Room very comfortable. Location a little out of town, but we were looking for something peaceful, it was perfect for us.
