Beautiful, tranquil property with amazing views. The host family was warm and welcoming even offered a glass of port wine when we checked in. The small restaurant is amazing we had the best Bacalhau and enjoyed tasting wines from the region.

There are no negatives but a word of caution for those who do not like driving on narrow, steep roads be careful as the last bit of road up to the property is very steep.

Extremely kind staff, they make you feel like family. Very comfortable stay, beautiful view from our room and excellent dinner - both my wife and I enjoyed our food very much and the food felt home cooked from our grandma! Shuffle service for a small fee provided to drive you to the wineries to enhance your stay! And delicious port wine provided! A perfect stay for my wife and I.

Honestly there was absolutely nothing to not like there. It was absolutely amazing!

Everything was excellent! The food was fantastic, the views and especially the sunsets were amazing, the accommodations and the facilities were superb. We had a wonderful time there! It is family-owned and operated, and they really made us feel welcome.

Sehr schöne Panoramalage über Douro-Tal

Ein Bett hat ständig gequietscht. Zimmer vor Parkplatz, nur Verdunkelungsgardine, keine leichte Vorgardine. Insofern keine richtige Privstsphärr ausser im Dunkeln.

Wyjątkowa lokalizacja, wszystko na wysokim poziomie, wyjątkowa czystość, profesjonalizm w każdym calu, smaczne posiłki, bardzo dobre wino.

Pokój trochę klaustrofobiczny, małe okno na sąsiedni budynek. Obsługa profesjonalna, miła.

Het uitzicht vanaf het terras was prachtig. De ontvangst was super vriendelijk en het aangeboden glaasje port heerlijk!

Het laatste stukje naar het hotel was uitdagend. Niet iedereen zal dat fijn vinden. En voor de vegetariërs/vegans onder ons zou het fijn zijn als er ook een ‘echt’ gerecht op de kaart zou staan (nu was dat toch een beetje behelpen).

Fantastic views of Douro River and surrounding mountains

We had a wonderful stay; the hotel is in a superb location with stunning views of the Douro Valley! The hotel is family-run and has a very pleasant, welcoming and warm atmosphere. The excellent cuisine, featuring superb wines from the hotel’s own vineyards, is particularly worth mentioning; the restaurant also offers a breathtaking view of the Douro Valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. Many thanks to Sergio and his team!

Breakfast was excellent, views are stunning, we paid extra for the dinner service on both nights of our stay and the food was freshly cooked and delicious , also reasonably priced. Paulo on reception is a brilliant host , knowledgeable and friendly all other staff were excellent.

Very difficult to criticise this hotel , its beautiful location and views make up for the slightly nervy drive up !

Per scoprire la Valle del Douro è stata una buona scelta. Località molto tranquilla con splendida vista sulla valle del Douro. Molto apprezzato la piscina a fine giornata con il caldo che c'era! Abbiamo cenato una sera ed era molto buono. Personale cordiale e disponibile.

Excelentes, localização/vista maravilhosa

Staff gentilissimo, camera spaziosa, una bella piscina, vista mozzafiato. Abbiamo anche cenato al ristorante (vista tramonto), pochi piatti, ma cucinati veramente bene. E, ovviamente, abbiamo assaggiamo anche il porto! Ottimo!

Non è tanto facile da raggiungere, ma vale la pena.

Il posto e' spettacolare, tutto perfetto anche la cena! E l'host di una cartesia speciale.

La estancia en Socalcos do Douro House ha sido genial. Las vistas al valle son impresionantes, sin duda ideal para desconectar unos días y relajarte. Además, el personal es encantador y desde el primer momento de hacen sentir como en casa. Recomiendo este hotel si lo que buscas es disfrutar sin complicaciones y relajarte en plena naturaleza. Sin duda repetiría de nuevo.

Super Aussicht, nettes Personal.

Établissement très bien situé loin de la foule de Pinhao et avec une superbe vue sur le Douro. Très bel accueil, nous avons pu dîner sur place (super repas).

Un point négatif est ressorti lors de notre passage est la qualité de l’eau de la piscine : elle était trouble surtout en cette période de fortes chaleurs on aurait aimé pouvoir en profiter.

Tiraram o som da TV sem nos consultarem , quando estávamos a ver um jogo de futebol e porque que a vontade se 2 pessoas que chegaram depois prevalece mais que a nossa . E tem de arranjar mais pinças ou luvas para pegarem nos croissant e colocarem na vitrine

Just amazing! The place is luxurious, close to everything, the dinner was good, convenient, breakfast as well, amazing view of the douro, amazing sunset, just great!

Everything - especially comfort of having everything you need for a getaway: nice and comfy room, pool, food available (breakfast and dinner, haven't tried lunch though) and responsive hotel members.

Location - there was a tiny part of the drive that is just very inclined. But manageable if you're used to driving in hilly areas. Just make sure to familiarise yourself before driving.

Great location with the fantastic view over Douro valley. Good room standard, facilities (swimming pool, gym), superb restaurant with selected menu, but perfectly prepared and served. Nice place to go around the wineries and view points. Great view all the day, with the stunning sun sets. The host Paulo is very helpful.

Las vistas eran inmejorables. Las habitaciones se veían nuevas y muy limpias. Nos recibió Paolo y nos hizo un tour por las instalaciones. Es un lugar para relajarse y descansar bien. Recomiendo cenar allí como nosotros hicimos. La comida está muy buena.

Wir waren nur für eine Nacht in dieser wunderbaren Unterkunft und es hat an nichts gefehlt eine ruhige schöne Lage mit Blick auf Fluss und Berge das Zimmer natürlich ruhig und klimatisiert und der poolbereich war ebenfalls so schön dass ich fast nicht mehr rausgehen wollte. Das Abendessen was uns angeboten wurde war mega lecker und wurde in einem schönen Raum mit ebenfalls toller Aussicht serviert. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und wirklich jedes Detail passt.

Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt wir waren sehr zufrieden.

L'accueil chaleureux et en anglais de l'hôte qui nous a servi un petit verre de Porto en guise de bienvenue. La superbe vue sur le Douro, le restaurant sur place, la nourriture, le petit déjeuner complet et le jacuzzi personnel.

Ce jour là, nous avons eu beaucoup de vent, ce qui a rendu moins agréable la séance de jacuzzi très exposée. Il est à noter que l'arrivée en voiture se fait sur une route à forte pente qui peut surprendre mais la vue finale est magnifique.

Gostei muito da localização, possui a vista mais bonita que vi na viagem. Gostei muito da recepção do Paulo. Gostei muito da simpatia do Sr. Ilídio. Gostei muito do jantar feito pela Margarida.

fantastica sistemazione nella bellissima valle del Douro. Dall'hotel (o B&B) si puo' ammirare la bellissima valle del fiume con tutti i suoi vigneti e le sue colline. Il personale e' stato gentilissimo e super ospitale. Ci hanno dato la possibilita' di fare uno spuntino appena arrivati offrendoci un bicchiere del loro Porto (che non vendono). Ci hanno aiutati ad organizzare una visita in cantina e per fare la gita in barca lungo il fiume. Abbiamo infine ottimamente cenato in struttura. Peccato essersi fermati solamente per una notte

We had a wonderful stay at Socalcos do Douro House. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by incredible views. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, watching the sunset, and having a delicious dinner at the hotel. Everything was comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, and we only wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

À notre arrivée, le propriétaire nous a fait la visite des installations et nous a proposé un excellent Porto 20 ans fait de façon artisanale par la famille et nous a accompagné. Nous allons y retourner lors d’un prochain séjour.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The hotel's location is simply outstanding. The views over the Douro Valley are breathtaking, and watching both the sunrise and sunset from the property is an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. We were greeted with a glass of Port wine, which was such a lovely touch, and the hotel has a cozy bar with an excellent selection of drinks. The staff were incredibly friendly, always happy to answer our questions and help with anything we needed. We stayed in a room with a private jacuzzi, and it was exactly as described. The view from the room was spectacular, and it had everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a refrigerator, wine glasses, a corkscrew, and other thoughtful amenities. We also appreciated the blackout curtains, which made it easy to enjoy a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, fresh bread, cheese, and ham. If you'd like something hot, you can also ask for freshly prepared eggs, such as scrambled eggs. The location is one of the hotel's greatest strengths. Most of the Douro Valley's best viewpoints, wineries, and attractions are just a short drive away, making it a perfect base for exploring the region. We would also highly recommend the hotel's restaurant. On our first evening, we didn't feel like driving anywhere after arriving, so we decided to have dinner there—and we're so glad we did. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere overlooking the valley made the evening truly special. I planned this trip as a surprise for my husband, and he absolutely loved it. As for me, the greatest compliment I can give is that after just three days at this hotel, I felt as refreshed as if I had spent an entire week on vacation. It's the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.

El alojamiento está muy bien situado, tiene unas vistas increíbles y es ideal para relajarse en la piscina cuando vuelves de hacer turismo por la zona. Las cenas que te ofrecen están muy buenas.

Inhaber geführt, sehr zuvorkommend. Man muss halt sehr hoch fahren durch kleine Straßen, dafür bekommt man aber einen fantastischen Ausblick. Ich kann auch nur das sehr köstliche Abendessen hier empfehlen.

Tutto tenuto benissimo, ben organizzato, pulizia impeccabile.. Parcheggio comodo anche se non facilissimo da raggiungere in moto. Personale e proprietario cortesi. Possibilità di cenare in struttura - nel paese non ci sono alternative.

Jacuzi werd niet warm en geeft zoveel lawaai dat je het door de vallei hoort. Je kunt niet meer gewoon met elkaar praten door het lawaai van de bubbels.

The road up like many in the Douro a bit hairy.

Warm ontvangst met glaasje Porto. De ligging van het hotel is prachtig. Het uitzicht is adembenemend mooi! De kamers zijn super proper met een heel goed bed. Ook de badkamer is heel proper en mooi. Het ontbijt, in buffet, is héél goed. We namen ook avondeten wat eenvoudig, maar héél lekker was en prachtig uitzicht op de vallei. Familiehotel die allen super vriendelijk zijn. Ooh en niet te vergeten het mooie verwarmde zwembad. We hebben genoten van onze 2 nachten. Een echte aanrader!!

No pool umbrellas in scorching sun, but owner said they have to much wind. Breakfast as reported by many is very very basic. Not what one would expect in this price range.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Zimmer und Bad sehr schön. Swimmingpool, Fitnessraum, Aufenthaltsraum mit Bar alles ist vorhanden. Alles sehr neu. Das Abendessen war sehr fein, auch das Frühstück war gut. Das Socalcos do Douro ist ein richiger Familienbetrieb!

Great location and fantastic to have the swimming pool in the heat wave weather. We used this as a base to explore the Douro region. The hotel is an intimate family-run business and they take obvious pride in pleasing their guests.
