5 star quality in a quiet beautiful location, yet very close to Pinhao. Spacious, private, beautiful.

Not applicable to me but just a caution to those who may not be comfortable to hill driving. Arrive in the daylight so that you can get used to the route.

Todo. Tanto el exterior como el interior. Es la segunda vez que nos alojamos y sigue igual o mejor si es posible. Ya una tercera vez a lo mejor no porque ya se escapa de nuestro presupuesto. Más cómodo, limpio y cuidado al detalle no puede estar todo. Además de ser totalmente privado y tranquilo. Check in y check out fácil y rápido y excelente comunicación con los anfitriones.

Por más que lo pienso no hay nada que no me gustara. A lo mejor una barbacoa mejor más grande o fija pudiera ser lo único que se podría mejorar.

Belle maison moderne, vaste et neuve. Très belle vue et super piscine. Maison très bien équipée, calme, salle de bain dans chaque chambre. Très bien placée pour visiter la région !

Truly outstanding. Beautiful property and grounds.Spotlessly clean. Super effective air con and 3 bathrooms to choose between. Hot water was instant and plentiful. The pool is one of the cleanest we've used. The views from the property are fabulous. It is so peaceful and completely private. You do get used to the tiny approach roads. The host Laurence was extremely helpful and his communication was always prompt and clear. It is a 10 minute drive to Pinhao for a reasonable selection of restaurants. Just be aware many of them are only open for lunch despite what Google tells you!! We loved our stay and would definitely stay again if in the area.

O alojamento é excelente. O muito bom gosto e qualidade caraterizam o The Douro Nest, tornando-o um dos locais que aconselho a quem procure alojamento, para visitar a bonita Região do Douro.

A falta de colchões nas espreguiçadeiras da piscina tornam-nas muito desconfortáveis.

A lovely place to stay. We became used to the narrow lanes through the village and looked forward to returning to the very comfortable accommodation with great views and pool after a day exploring the beautiful Douro valley. It was an excellent centre for a visit to this region.

Tout était très bien, calme, la maison, la piscine, le jardin, un merveilleux moment hors du temps...nous regrettons de ne pas y être resté une nuit de plus ..bravo a nos hôtes et nous avons été très sensibles a l'agriculture biologique....

We cannot recommend this property enough and would love to return. The house and grounds were beautiful and looked exactly like the photos, if not even better. Check in and out were seamless, and the free parking on site was great. Most notably our hosts Laurence and Jorge were fantastic- extremely responsive and easy to contact, happy to answer any questions and recommended several wineries and taxi companies to help us plan our trip. Thank you so much!

The location is superb in the area around, with such big house with a lot of plantings. The kitchen facilities are excellent with a lot of amenities for a family to use. There are two bathrooms and three toilets, very enough for a big group. There is laundry as well. We have a very comfortable stay indeed. Port wine is provided for us to taste and it is a warm treat by the host

Zeer ruime en volledig uitgeruste vakantiewoning. Prachtige ligging met fantastisch uitzicht over de Dourovallei. Vlotte communicatie met de host. Grote tuin met terras en privé-zwembad, allemaal omringd door beplanting waardoor er geen inkijk is van buitenaf. Het toeristische Pinhao ligt op 10 minuten rijden. Geen restaurants op wandelafstand, maar de keuken is zeer goed uitgerust. Weinig winkels in de buurt, dus zorg ervoor dat je al het nodige meebrengt, want anders moet je al gauw 30 minuten rijden om boodschappen te doen.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in de Douro Vallei. De locatie is prachtig en biedt veel privacy. Het was heerlijk om ons eigen zwembad te hebben, en het huisje zelf is mooi, comfortabel en sfeervol ingericht. Het centrum is niet heel ver rijden maar je moet wel even de berg af over kleine weggetjes, spannend. Daarentegen liggen de poorthuizen heel dichtbij, waardoor je die makkelijk kunt bezoeken.

In fabulous pristine condition. Owner has done a great job of setting it up with modern design and equipment. Awesome air con for what turned out to be 100 deg!

It’s not that we didn’t like it but the great view of the Duoro River could have been architecturally exploited by positioning larger view windows on view side. The view is a million dollar view

The house is amazing with a beautiful view to the Douro River. The pool is private and you can use the space privately.

The cleaning service (I assume) entered the house without permission or even ringing the bell. It felt like someone could enter the house at any time… honestly, it was very strange

The location was outstanding - not in a big town, but close enough to amenities that we were able to get what we needed with little inconvenience by virtue of having our own vehicle. And the views were glorious. The set-up was a perfect arrangement for a couple, with all the facilities you could want (including our own private swimming pool!) to allow us to be completely self-contained when we wanted to be, and with excellent security and privacy.

The host was very friendly and kind and looked out for us during a nationwide blackout. The house and garden/pool are really spacious and ideal for staying with a baby. We also enjoyed the view a lot and would definitely recommend staying here

The chairs at the pool would be nice with some cushions

- It takes some time to figure it out heating system - It would be nice to have sleepers because the floor is quite cold.

This villa was the accommodation with the highest C p value during our one-month trip to Spain and Portugal. The entire villa occupies a very large area with a swimming pool. The room is also very spacious and well-equipped. It is very clean. It is the first choice for visiting the Douro Valley.

It was perfect to enjoy some alone time… garden and pool were great. I loved roses and we made some lemonade as lemon tree was full.

What a total gem of a place! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything you could want in the well Stocked kitchen and the views from the house were exceptional. We also loved our private use of the pool. We really didn’t want to leave! Thank you so Much and we hope To return one day.

Nothing we loved it all! Do need to mention about the bend on the hill just before you approach the house. We stalled the first time as it so steep and needs to be Taken as wide as you can and in first gear. So just to be aware. Also make sure you’ve got lots of food with you beforehand as it’s a long way back downhill!

This is truly an amazing property with beautiful views of the Douro Valley. It is close to numerous vineyards, including the town of Pinhao.

Dishwasher did finally Not work, although several Times checked. The View ist amazing, the Village is beautiful, but you have to Drive regarding Supermarkets / Shopping in any way etc. In Pinhao (15 minutes Drive) only small minimercados available, much better in Regua (30 minutes Drive)

We were welcomed very warmly by Paula. She told us about the bread van that drove through the village from which we bought fresh rolls and delicious custard tarts. The views were beautiful. The house was bright and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wow wow wow what a view. The accommodation was spacious and fabulous, a comfortable bed, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay we felt like we were on top of the world with the amazing view. The road up there is an experience as it is exceptionally narrow and steep but our little hire car chugged up there in first gear. Once you have been up and down a couple of times you get use to the road. We really enjoyed our stay.

A sunscreen by the pool could be a plus. And the pool was a bit cold at our visit in end April (but we never spoke to the housekeeper about it, maybe it could have been solved that way - she's extremely kind!)

Everything was fantastic. The views were amazing as you are high up in the hills. The place was very clean, bed was super comfortable, swimming pool was such a nice bonus. Everything worked great. The property is about 6 miles from the center of Pinhao. To get to the property, you drive 2 miles up a hillside. If you don’t mind the drive and staying a bit out of the town center, book this place, it was awesome!

Very clean, modern, spacious. Extra bathroom was a treat, shower was very good. Fun to be so up high in the hills and watch the day begin and the city lights at night.

Though the views from the windows are lovely, the house is positioned so the big windows in the living room and bedroom face the back. Be prepared for views from smaller windows--best views when standing up. Just a surprise for us based on other reviews.

Large property with excellent garden and swimming pool, very quiet village, with great viewpoints. The host gave us some fruits from the garden. Large rooms, all new and clean.

Warning: you have to bring all the food with you. It seems that there are no restaurants or grocery shops in the village. Also: when driving in the village, follow the signs on the walls to the hotel, Google maps leads to a very narrow street with uncomfortable turns.

the place is really beautiful. The view to the Douro Valley is amazing. The villa is quite new, simply but well furnished, the garden is well thought, it gives you really a very pleasant feeling to arrive to the villa. the lady who takes care of the house is very nice, I don’t know though if she speaks English. the driving up to the villa is a bit difficult but nothing impossible, just be aware. As mentioned in other reviews buy your grocery in some bigger village close buy. We really liked the place, very is definitely something special about it and definitely we would like to come back.

Everything! It is a huge place, equipped with all you may need for a long stay. There's a view on a river, a pool, and lots of space outside to play with the kids. The location is perfect IMHO - less than 15 minutes drive from Pinhao, a small, quiet village. Close enough to the center, and far enough from the crowds. The host was very helpful and assisted with everything. Definitely one of the best places I've stayed with the highest value for money. Just perfect - highly recommend!
