Lavinia Bay Beach Hotel

Great value for money. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The rooms were serviceable but had no real hanging or drawer space, but we were only there for two nights so living out of the suitcases was fine. Lazing in the pool with ocean views was a highlight.

Not the most Ideal location. It's way out of town; there is a train that runs along the back of the property between the hotel and the beach, and the vacant block behind the hotel spoils the beach views a bit. Although I did see peacocks in there, so not all bad! The pool was a little run-down. The stairs were loose and felt like they would break at any second. There was also a loose nail in the boards that was quite sharp. Neither of the two sun loungers was particularly usable, with cracks in the plastic or missing backs.

The view frm the balcony to a very-very dirty yard with a lot of trash, half-naked workers, dirty stinking water reservoir, loads of flies and cravens, stinky, stinky! The swimming pool has a very nice view to the ocean, but stinky surrounding, constructions left and right and broken stairs of the pool spoiled the impression. Very hot in the reception hall. And I didn't feel safe in the area, nothing other special in surrounding.

A lovely, cozy villa with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. The pool was well-maintained and perfect for relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

Terrible location, rubbish dump outside ,disgusting smellout hotel next door,railway line next to the hotel,we were meant to stay for 3 nights but only stayed one.do not stay here

Nou na een lange reis kwam ik aan bij het hotel en liet ik mijn reservering zien. Omdat er blijkbaar iets van drugs in mijn drinken was gedaan, voelde ik me ontzettend beroerd en ziek. Omdat mijn visa kaart niet meer werkte, heb ik man gebeld en hij had opnieuw een kamer geboekt op zijn naam en geld overgemaakt. Maar men was totaal niet helpend ondanks de bezorgdheid vanuit Nederland en mijn slechte toestand. Uiteindelijk werden we gewoon genegeerd en ben ik ziek terug gereisd naar mijn host family Enderamulla Watthala. Daar heb ik inmiddels 4 weken gewerkt als vrijwilligster op een special need school. En ik had mezelf beloofd even te chillen in hun jotel aan het strand. Toch vreemd dat men daar totaal geen oog had voor mijn situatie. En samen naar een oplossing gingen zoeken. Hun Engels was ook triest, dus communiceren met hen was een ramp. Dit heb ik in heel mijn reis/werkcarriere nog nooit meegemaakt..en ik heb al menig hotel bezocht, geloof me

4 gece kaldığım bu otelde tek beğendiğim şey odam ve resepsiondaki görevliler.Güleryüzlü ve ilgili idiler.Sıcak su ve duş harikaydı.Yemek çeşidi yeterli kadardı.

Denize sıfır diye tutmuşdum oteli ancak denize 1 kere bile giremedim.çevre aşırı kirli ve çöplüktü.başka bir otelin çöplüğü otelin tam denize bakan tarafta karşısındaydı odadan çöplük görünüyordu.bu yüzden bir kere bile balkona çıkamadım.çevresi harabe gibiydi.Otel hem hava alanına hem şehir merkezine gezilecek turistik yerlere çok uzaktı.Beni en çok üzen şey otelin havuz başındakı restoeanında ceketimin kaybolması ve bununla ilgili hiç bir şey yapmamaları.O bölgede hırsızlık çok oluyormuş sonradan öğrendim.Ama bir otelde bunun olması beni büyük bir hayal kırıklığına uğratdı.Check out yaparken sabaha karşı oldugu için kapıyı kitleyip herkes uyumuşdu ve ben kaç dakika birilerini bulmaya çalıştım çünki hava alanı taksim dışarıda bekliyordu ve ben içeride mahsur kalmışdım.saat kaçta gidecegımı bilsirdiğim halde.sonra anahtarı koymuşlar onu gördüm ve açıp çıktım.Asla bir daha mecbur bile kalsam o otelde konaklamam.Sadece resepsıyon personelı beni mutlu etti.güleryüzlü ve kibarlardı.

Ich habe 3 Nächte dort verbracht und war total begeistert vom Service. Man kümmerte sich um meine Anliegen (Wäsche, Adapter und ein gemeinsames Abendessen mit meinen Gästen. Nochmals herzlichen Dank !!!

Die Lage ist für deb Besucher eine Herausforderung. Aber das Haus bietet innen all das was man nicht erwartet. Vom oberen Stockwerk einen tollen Blick aufs Meer einen Swimmingpool eine Bar. Ich / wir haben die Zeit genossen.

Lokalizacja bardzo dobra, niemalże przy samym morzu, chociaż widok z okna na niezagospodarowany teren z małym bałaganem wokół. Niemniej jednak sama lokalizacja wynagradza wszystko, bardzo dobra, blisko do dobrego baru ze smacznym jedzeniem oraz leżakami Shelton Sea food Restaurant. Obsługa hotelowa bardzo miła i pomocna. Pokoje wygodne. Cisza, spokój, mili ludzie. Polecam.

Długi czas oczekiwania na śniadanie serwowane do stolika, a nie w formie szwedzkiego stołu.

La chambre initiale correspondait à la sympathique et tentante photo et le Personnel est aimable

Difficile à trouver pour les taxis, l’environnement n’ est pas au top… balcon avec vue sur déchèterie à ciel ouvert, immeuble en face désaffecté, voie ferrée au bout de la rue avec le train qui klaxonne de 7h08 du matin au soir pour annoncer son arrivée et pourtant on est pas chipoteur et on s’adapte à bcp en famille … On a du partir de la première chambre qui pourtant était vaste et propre car la Clim faisait sauter l’électricité de tout l’établissement toutes les 5 minutes … On a du aller dans une chambre sous la piscine du toit où durant toute la nuit l’écoulement de l’eau passait dans les murs … autant vous dire que le sommeil n’était pas au rdv … avec en plus les travailleurs sur la voie ferrée jusqu’à 23h… Cette seconde chambre avait des marques d’écoulement d’eau au plafond … Quand le lendemain on a demandé une réduction au moment du check out le Patron contacté au téléphone à à peine proposé 10% alors qu’on avait pas dormi correctement durant deux nuits … Bref toute la famille déconseille cet hôtel ! Sehr großes Zimmer mit Meerblick, sehr sauber und freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Sie waren sehr bemüht, unseren Einschränkungen wegen Allergien und Unverträglichkeiten (Gluten, vegan) gerecht zu werden.

Der Strand war (in dieser Vor- Monsun- Zeit) leider ziemlich verdreckt mit Plastikmüll.

the location was great, close to the station and pretty close to Colombo, stuff was amazing, people working there are very lovely and helpful. Also restaurant next to hotel was very nice. There are also nice beaches just few minutes from hotel

Ants in the room and a pretty bad smell around the hotel. Also pretty noisy when trains go by. But nothing besides that:)

Good stay with lovely live music at the resto bar. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and everything was fine overall. I had requested an ocean view room but didn’t get it — aside from that, it was a comfortable stay

This little gem is located close to the beach, train station and shops and was a perfect access point for the train south or one stop to Colombo. We booked 4 rooms here as a group of friends traveling and the owners even organized a surprise birthday for one of our friends. They were beautiful and friendly hosts and were super helpful in answering our questions. Rooms were really large, super clean and comfortable with lovely little balconies. The breakfast was lovely and super fresh. We liked it so much, our friends booked it again on the return trip. Would highly recommend.

Everything was excellent! The rooms are spacious, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, the restaurant downstairs is fantastic with a great variety of food, the location is brilliant, the hosts and all the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming! We would highly recommend this hotel!

The room was not ready upon our arrival. We had to have sheets delivered to be put on the bed. Cleanliness was mid.

The room was comfortable, but the tap in the washbasin did not work properly. Additionally, although the room had a balcony, it was difficult to enjoy the sunset as the surroundings were unclean. A well filled with garbage and dirty water emitted a bad smell carried by the wind. If properly cleaned, this property could be utilized more effectively.

Interesting….. we had a very comfortable room with great views to the sea/beach etc and the location was great affording access (via the railway track) to the beach. Staff made a sincere effort to look after you. Breakfast and the evening restaurant for dinner were exceptional.

This hotel is right on the beach which is why I chose it plus some good reviews. When I arrived, I was not given any information about breakfast, wifi or the pool. The phone in my room did not work so I went to reception to ask for the wifi password. No one was there and there was no bell. After I wandered around, I found a lovely pool and staff there were able to get me a cold drink. This area was a plus but seemed closed up. The next morning just after 7.30am, I found there was no hairdryer (said there was on booking.com) so went to reception (24 hours??) to get one and ask about the breakfast. I could not find anyone in the reception, restaurant or upstairs at the pool area. Finally, a staff member appeared and after half an hour brought a hairdryer and a menu to my room. By then, I had to leave so too late to get breakfast. Sadly, the room also smelt of old cigarette smoke.

Positives- The staff are kind and considerate- we could see they wanted to give a good impression and look after us. We booked for 2 nights- the rooms are air conditioned and spacious. Negatives- Unfortunately, the hotel itself is rundown and there are some significant issues with maintenance, cleanliness and general upkeep. The shower in our room had issues with its piping (water spouting from connections). The cleanliness of the bedding was the most significant issue for us. We only stayed here for two nights (and flew out on our last day), sadly I was bitten by bed bugs, and this is something that hotel management needs to deal with immediately - as well being something anyone looking to stay here should be VERY aware of.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lavinia Bay Beach Hotel 😊 The staff was so helpful and friendly! And the food was excellent! Room was big and clean. Location very good 100m from the beach, and good distance to town. They even arranged for me to have an early breakfast when I needed to go early to the inmigration office! I'm hoping to stay here again on my last night in Sri Lanka 😊

Filling Water bottles and room clean is everytime you must be asked . Morning breakfast you wait a long time because too little groups staffs are working there

Staff were exceptional, facilities were great, we felt really welcomed. Breakfast was wonderful. We booked last minute and they got our room ready and took our bags up straight away.

The only fault we could pick was that there was some dirt underneath the sheet on the bed. We weren’t affected by this though as the sheet itself was clean.

1st of all staff were amazing. It was a very easy check-in, and staff made you welcome and attended to your needs with a smile ( Mr Chamara and Miss Sarojini). My room was very spacious, and I had everything I needed. The bed was very comfy. Late night, I asked for a mobile phone charger, a few papers, and a pen, Mr Chamara gave it to me without saying no ,the srilankan breakfast is amazing and I use the swimming pool on the last day it was well maintained as well and had a lovely sea view. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. Also, there is a short walk to the beach from the hotel.

Overall, there is nothing to say anything negative. Rooftop should have been more updated.

I had an incredible stay at Lavinia Bay Beach Hotel! The first thing that struck me was the breathtaking views that surround the property—absolutely stunning.
