Reviewed Apr 15, 2026Saxon Park farm has a beautiful guest cottage surrounded by a beautiful garden and surrounded by mountains. It was very tastefully decorated, was clean, cosy and comfortable. Lindie communicated the location and check-in process very well and has arranged for her husband to meet us as she was away. While the location of the farm is a little off the main road, this did not bother us at all and we enjoyed the serenity of the farm.
Nothing comes to mind. We rated this as the best stay of all the ones we had booked during our trip.

Reviewed Dec 31, 2025I loved the garden and clean rooms. Very peaceful environment with lovely books and board games.
The 20km drive on gravel road was unexpected. Our car was not designed for the terrain which made it very unpleasant.

Nothing that the hosts will be able to rectify, but the roads in the area are in a very bad state

Reviewed Jul 29, 2025The cottage is situated on a working farm, so expect all the usual farm sites and sounds. We would have liked to stay longer and have more interaction with the owner and animals. We hope to come back again. The facilities are very well thought of everything we needed was provided. We could not have asked for more.

Reviewed May 5, 2025Saxon Park is a perfect spot to unwind Beautifully decorated rooms and kitchen with everything you might need. We loved that it is not on a main road and too close to a town, which makes it very peaceful. We ordered frozen, home cooked meals from a neighbor, which were delicious and very convenient. What a privilege to experience life on a farm in the beautiful Free State!

This is a gem of a property and as the door stone on the pathway says - “The dawn of the day is for Glory, The hush of the night is for Peace.
