The staff couldn't understand english and were always invading our personal space. It was hard to use the lock of the property. The quiet hours was insane.

Reviewed Mar 27, 2025I like the neighbourhood, safe environment area. House itself is amazing, it’s immaculate and has got everything basic that we need. We actually felt like home staying at Wigram.
I was not told if someone else was actually with us. So six of us felt a bit weird to live with somebody else in the house.

The room was very hot. It doesn't have indoor air conditioning or a fan, so I wouldn't recommend it on a hot day. There's also a water drain right behind the bed (outside the room), and it makes a loud noise every time someone uses it.

Room a bit small for a couple with 4 cases; we didn’t really like sharing the bathroom etc but the advert makes the arrangements clear so that was our oversight.We had to accept a 10 am check out which was a bit punishing after arriving the day before from Vietnam so tired and jet lagged.

Felt a bit uneasy with the cameras. There are a lot of rooms with no entry signs and lists to follow along with signage throughout the house. Had a little trouble re-entering the house after 10 pm with the electric door. There were no issues, but we felt it was very different to other accommodations we have stayed in in the city. Further out than we thought.

The entire house is the landlord’s personal residence, so the decor was great, and I really liked it. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Christchurch.

The recycle bin is difficult to empty; having a removable bag within the bin would make it easier

Reviewed Dec 25, 2024House is very modern with a beautiful kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen was amazingly well equipped with everything you could possibly desire. We had our own room with our own bath which was nice. Located in a quiet safe neighborhood.
No lock on front door (owner said she was fixing it). Also it was a very hot day and it would have been nice to open all the doors and windows to cool it down.

Reviewed Nov 10, 2024May was a wonderful host. Met us at the door and showed us around the home. Very well set up and organised. Beautifully clean and the most comfortable bed we have slept on all holiday!
Although we were 2 people we only got one towel. Very minor thing as we were able to get a 2nd towel from the empty room next to us. And it would have been no effort to contact May for a 2nd towel.
