Bait Al Aali Guesthouse

This guesthouse is a beautiful place created with an amazing atmosphere and incredible attention to detail. The interiors are decorated with stunning photographs of Omani people, all taken by the owner herself. We had the absolute best breakfast of our entire trip here, served on a lovely rooftop with a fantastic view. The owners are incredibly hospitable and patiently answered thousands of our questions. Also, highly recommend buying the camel milk soaps available there—they smell absolutely divine!

Our stay was wonderful, but what I will remember most is the dinner experience. The authentic Omani food was absolutely delicious. What made the evening truly special, however, was the hospitality of Emina and her husband. They personally ensured that all the guests gathered and shared dinner together with them, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a family gathering than a resort stay.

On our month long visit to Oman and Yemen we would have to say this was perhaps the most memorable. We truly loved having dinner with our hosts and other guests. So fun to meet others who were traveling. The building is a virtual museum. It was truly a privilege to stay here. The hosts also gave us fantastic guidance!

Pas assez d'eau chaude. Poussière ambiante. Menu unique. Pas assez de choix dans les plats et horaire unique aussi. Place de parking dans les ruines à côté et en pente. Il faut bien savoir manœuvrer pour stationner. Très hautes marches pour accéder a toutes les chambres, il faut le savoir.

Un des deux meilleurs logements de nos vacances à Oman avec le Désert Vibes Camp La bâtisse est magnifique et très joliment décoré. On s'y sent bien. Il y a peu de chambres. Une superbe terrasse. Nous étions même seul avec notre grande fille. Le repas du soir était délicieux. Il sera vraisemblablement le meilleur de ce voyage. Nous avons adoré. Nous avons également aimé le petit déjeuner du matin. Il est idéalement placé dans la vieille ville de Al Hamra. Et nous avons été très bien accueillis

The building was beautiful, especially the rooftop terrace. The breakfast was very good as well as the dinner that made by local people. The staff has been very kind and sociable. The room was cosy and comfortable and the toilette was adequate and clean.

Nachttischlampen, Kleiderbügel, Steckdosenadapter mit Ladefunktion), gute Betten, angenehm kommunikative Herbergsatmosphäre (gemeinsames Abendessen wie in Familie - neben dem warmen Hauptgericht gab es Gemüsesalat und Obst), reichhaltiges, vielfältiges und vorzügliches Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse (schönes Geschirr!), zum Trinken steht jederzeit gefiltertes Wasser zur Verfügung + Wasserkocher/Tee, die „Herbergsmutter“ sorgt sich gut um Ihre Gäste und packt viel mit an, Förderung regionaler Projekte und nachhaltiger Ansatz, tolles Museum um die Ecke

Empfindliche Gäste sollten Ohrstöpsel dabei haben, da die schönen alten Fenster wenig Lärmschutz bieten. …und etwas Sportlichkeit ist von Vorteil, um sich in dem nicht ganz normgerechten Gemäuer zu bewegen 😉.

Authentic building with elements like doors, walls and decorations that respect the local culture and history, while maintaining all the confort, including AC, private bathroom with shower. Dinner was cooked by a local family and breakfast served on the terrace with the view on the village was absolutely delicious with local and fresh products. Emina was extremely friendly and welcomed us warmly giving tips on surroundings and local restaurants.

Het gasthuis ligt midden in een oude, deels verlaten stadje, heel charmant. Emina, de gastvrouw is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hadden een gezondheidsprobleem waar ze direct klaarstond met raad én daad, waarvoor veel dank. Het gasthuis werd met respect voor de oude gebruiken en met veel charme gerestaureerd. Het eten wordt bereid door vrouwen in het dichtbijgelegen dorp en is zeer lekker, steeds een keuze tussen vegetarisch en vis/vlees.

Authentisches Haus mit einer tollen Gastgeberin

Emina ist eine tolle Gastgeberin. Sie Unterkunft ist liebevoll renoviert und toll eingerichtet. Frühstück (auf der Dachterrasse) und das gemeinsame Abendessen sind einfach toll. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit und haben unsere drei Tage sehr genossen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Tolle Unterkunft! Wunderschön renoviertes Lehmhaus mitten in der Altstadt von al Hamra. Trotzdem gut erreichbar und gute Parkmöglichkeit. Sehr leckeres Abendessen und definitiv das beste Frühstück meiner Omanreise! Serviert auf einer wunderbaren Dachterrasse mit Blick über die Altstadt, die Oase und die umliegenden Berge. Viel besser geht es nicht!

La guesthouse si trova in una posizione eccezionale ai margini di un palmeto la cui vista si gode dal terrazzo, nel vecchio villaggio. Tutto è eccezionale a partire dalla colazione super ma anche la cena consumata in compagnia degli altri ospiti che permette di scambiare utili informazioni

Alloggiare in questa caratteristica struttura vale il viaggio in Oman. Un'esperienza che non si dimenticherà. La casa è meravigliosa, perfettamente ristrutturata. Le camere sono arredate con gran gusto e ampie. Il punto di forza è la meravigliosa terrazza sul tetto con vista, dove godersi meravigliosi tramonti. La cena compresa è eccezionale, preparata con ingredienti freschi. La colazione è incredibilmente varia e abbondante.

Amazing experience, property and host. Shared dinner experience allowed you to get to know other people and the owner. Breakfast was the best we had the whole trip, what a spread! So much care has gone into redoing and fixing this old historic house, the room was super spacious with a fantastic bed. The location is perfect to then use as a point for day trips and the peaceful farms and palm trees are lovely to walk amongst. The museum close by is also great to visit and learn more about life in the town. I would 100% recommend to anyone and would love to go back!

La sobriété et le bon goût de la décoration et des équipements. L’accueil humain et bienveillant d’Amina, un juste équilibre de douceur et fermeté, d’accompagnement et de liberté. Les petits déjeuners et dîners omanais ainsi que les desserts maison ! L’emplacement idéal pour visite du village d’Al Hamra, de Misfat ou de Djebel Shams.

La salle de bain commune est sans doute l’unique hic quoique nous n’avons rencontré aucune difficulté avec les autres guests durant notre séjour.

La localisation est dingue. Entourée de ruines et d une palmeraie. Isolé du monde, mais vous croiserez des habitants. Le guest house est sublime. Les chambres traditionnelle vous laisserons un souvenir impérissable. Le roof top est fou ! Ultra reposant avec sa vie sur les montagnes et ruines. (Classique dans la région, rien de surprenant). Le petit déjeuner sur roof top est effectivement exceptionnel. Le diner sur table partagé tres bien aussi au regard du prix très raisonnable au regard de l ensemble. Bravo pour cette maison et sa gestion . .

Amazing roof terrace where we had breakfast and very authentic place overall. Every detail had been considered and our room had wonderful double height ceilings. Food was excellent with breakfast our best in Oman including really fresh bread and orange juice and attractively served. If you want to be in the heart of a historic place this is perfect.

Parking is a bit tight with other cars around and some may find stairs in the house quite steep but we liked that.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Emina's guest house and wished we had booked more than one night. The house and the rooms are beautifully decorated and give you a very good impression of traditional Omani architecture. Compared to other bathrooms and showers during our trip through Oman, the one in our room was very good. We also very much enjoyed the communal dinner and the amazing breakfast on the roof overlooking the palm tree gardens and the old town of Al Hamra in which the guest house is located. Emina recommended us a hike to Wadi Al Nakhr and organized a local guide for us. The hike up the Wadi was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip.

Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen, es ist sehr sauber und das omanische Essen abends sowie das tolle Frühstück schmeckten top! Auch eine schöne Möglichkeit, mit anderen Reisenden in Kontakt zu kommen - wenn man dazu Lust hat. :) Außerdem wird auf lokale Produkte und ein nachhaltiges Konzept geachtet.

Dit huis op deze plek is magisch. We kwamen uit Misfat en kwamen hier om te overnachten. De entree tot het dorp vanuit de dadel plantage maakt het al magisch. Het huis is prachtig gerenoveerd door Emina. Staande op het terras op het dak kijk je uit over Al Hamra en dat was voor ons zo veel mooier dan Misfat. We kregen een heerlijk diner en het ontbijt was met hart en ziel bereid en op het terras boven genuttigd. Tijdens het diner verteld Emina ook van alles over de omgeving, haar huis en de uitdagingen waar ze voor staan. Om de hoek zit ook een museum in een woonhuis gerund door een familie. Ga daarheen en trek er 1,5 uur zeker voor uit. Alles hier, het huis, Emina en haar man, het dorp en het museum voelen authentiek aan. Dat maakte het een verrassende en zeer indrukwekkend fijne ervaring. Bedankt!

Tolle Lage im alten Stadtteil direkt am Palmenhain. Liebevoll renoviertes Lehmhaus im typischen omanischen Stil. Ein Highlight ist die Dachterrasse mit dem Blick über den Palmenhain in der untergehenden Sonne ist grandios. Emina ist eine großartige Gastgeberin. Tolles Frühstück und ein sehr familiäres Abendessen.

El lloc, una de les cases antigues restaurades és una autèntica maravella decorada amb molta cura. La relació amb la propietària i la possibilitat de parlar amb ella de tot, és un plaer. A més, els esmorzars són de luxe.

Hauria preferit poder esmorzar abans de les 8h i no haver de compartir lavabo amb una altra habitació.

The renovated mud-brick building looks very nice, the dinners and breakfasts are tasty, homemade, healthy and local cuisine, options are possible for specific dietary requirements, water filter to refill your bottles, rooftop terrace with great view, no noise at night, you have the possibility to share your table with the other guests so nice to exchange on the visits, the host also has great tips for the visits or local purchases, nice houses and palm tree plantation to see by foot around the hotel

The shared bathroom is a bit small with no shower curtain / shelves and the water boiler does not have a big capacity even if you wait after the previous user

Situato mella parte vecchia della cittá, accogliente e pulito. La camera grande e con bagno privato. Cena con cibo locale cucinato da famiglia omanita, colazione sul rooftop con vista sulla città di ottima qualitá. Assolutamente consigliato.

Solo per conoscenza e senza che sia una critica da parte mia: non si puó buttare la carta igenica nel wc, c'é un cesto apposito. Del resto nella città vecchia gli impianti di scolo sono quelli che sono e quindi per me la richiesta é comprensibile

Tolles historisches Haus am Rande der Altstadt mit schöner Dachterrasse und Weitblick über Teile Al Hamras und des Gebirges. Ruhig gelegen. Das Haus hat 5 Zimmer und alle sind unterschiedlich gross und traditionell eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist grandios und wird auf der Dachterrasse von der sympathischen Vermieterin persönlich serviert.

This is the sheik's old house that has been fully renovated yet keeps the original features. Comfortable and quiet. Delicious, communal 3-course dinner at 7pm and excellent breakfast on the roof terrace. Managed by a very nice German lady. Do note that the hotel is in the centre of a very old, mud-brick village with barely enough room for one SUV to pass through the streets. Parking is limited due to the nature of the location and the hotel is surrounded by abandoned family homes that have crumbled to heaps of rubble. Take time to visit the village of Misfat al Abriyyin which is 15 minutes drive away and walk a section of the W9 that goes through the village and then turns North along the falaj.

We couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. Our time at Bait Al-Ali Guesthouse was truly exceptional, thanks entirely to the owner, Emina. The property has been beautifully restored, the rooms and facilities were spotless, and the highlight was undoubtedly the roof terrace, where we enjoyed the most delicious breakfasts while taking in stunning views. Each evening, a menu of freshly prepared dishes were served and shared with the other guests, resulting in wonderfully engaging, informative conversations and plenty of laughter. We also had the pleasure of Emina joining us for dinner or afterwards on the roof terrace. Her wealth of knowledge is extraordinary, she even helped us arrange a guided trip to Wadi Nakhr at short notice for the next morning. Nothing seems too much trouble for her — she consistently goes the extra mile to ensure every guest’s stay is memorable, even sourcing medical supplies after I bumped my head. We initially booked for just one night, but the warm hospitality and charming surroundings of Al Hamra quickly convinced us to stay for two. De eigenaresse was een zeer goede gastvrouw en zeer behulpzaam. Ontbijt en avondeten waren voortreffelijk. Vooral ontbijt geserveerd op het dakterras met een prachtig uitzicht op een zeer authentieke lokatie.

We felt soooo lucky to have booked this place! What a fantastic and so very special place to stay! The views, the “lost village”, the food (all so very yummy) and the hospitality: it was all just perfect! A place that definitely will remain a highlight of our holiday in Oman

Out of many houses left in disrepair on this old town section, this rose of the house really stands out. Once inside the house, your wow’s would continue for a long while. The housekeeper really spices up the house to a point we felt so comfortable staying. The meals that came with it were great. We enjoyed our visit there. While you are at this house, walk a few houses along the street, you will see a historic Oman house museum. It’s worth visiting.
