I loved everything about my stay! The location is wonderful and private yet also close to town and 15-20 minutes from Misfat. There is parking available at the property, and the host was extremely nice and welcoming! I loved talking to him and the positive energy he radiates. The room was extremely spacious and had more than everything I needed. It was very clean, organized, and well-kept. I wish I could have stayed here longer and will definitely come back here in the future. Thank you!

Had a wonderful stay in Al Hamra! The property is clean, well-maintained, and offers great value for the price. There are multiple room options, and everything you need for a comfortable stay is available. We were lucky to have the entire property to ourselves, which made it feel very private and peaceful. The mountain views are absolutely stunning and truly the highlight of the stay. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway in Al Hamra!

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr gut, man kommt von da aus überall hin. Die Zimmer sind groß und geräumig, der offene Terassenbereich mit Kühlschrank ist sehr gemütlich. Der Besitzer hat uns sehr gastfreundlich empfangen und uns viel über Land und Leute mitgeteilt. Wir konnten Fahrräder ausleihen und der Besitzer hat uns Al Hamra gezeigt. Eine 10/10. Das war die Beste Unterkunft auf unserer Oman Rundreise und wir werden aufjedenfall wiederkommen. Sehr weiter zu empfehlen.

Leider waren wir zu kurz da. Minimum 3-4 Nächte zu empfehlen, eher mehr:)

Top verblijf, verdiend minstens 3 sterren. Goed onthaal, kamer is eigenlijk een appartement met terras en binnenplaats, mogelijkheid tot barbecue en buitenkeuken , ideaal ook kinderen. Fietsen ter beschikking. Kraaknet en heel rustig gelegen. Behulpzame eigenaar. Een aanrader in Al Hamra.

All was perfect from the first to the last one. The place is near to nizwa, jabel shams, misfah, … Ahmed is a welcoming person who likes to exchange with you. We had the right to the Omanian hospitality.

The property is very neat and clean with a prime location facing mountains and a peaceful city. Professional staff and very kind owner, best place to visit and experience in this part of Oman, much recommended.

The host Ahmed was spectacular, incredibly accommodating and hospitable. Great location to access nearby attractions like Jabal Shams and Al Hoota Cave. I'd highly recommend the nearby zoo in Al Naseem Park as well. The rooms were super clean and the place was comfortable. Highly recommend this place for travelers!

Very clean and comfortable, well thought out. The host was amazingly welcoming and willing to spend time with you. He took me to Misfat and showed me some of the old parts of the city.

There were only 3 rooms and as a solo traveler i like to be able to meet others but im not sure that was possible in any other accommodation here either.

We were greeted by the landlord on arrival. The family entered the reception where the the host offered multiple sweet dishes, tea and / or arabic coffee. The reception was clean and comfortable. We relaxed while the landlord arranged our bags and stay in the bedrooms. The 4 bedrooms were aptly named after local historical places. Rooms were clean with new appliances. Please do take your mosquito spray with you!! We were allowed to go sight seeing, leaving our bags in storage. After sight-seeing, we returned to collect our bags. The landlord had arranged a lovely lunch for the family before our onward journey to Muscat. The garden, seating areas and playing areas were nicely laid out for residents.

There was honestly not much to dislike. Everything was better than expected in this little, newly established restroom.

The owner and the housekeeper are very friendly and helpful. They fulfilled all my wishes.

The property is beautiful. It feels (as the owner hopes it will) like a home away from home. But it also feels like a calm and lush Oasis in the middle of the desert mountains next to a lively little city. Everything is a combination of new and/or well thought out, and it's clear Ahmed has taken great care to craft a wonderful experience for his guests. He's there when you need him but will leave you to yourselves otherwise. It's been a long time since I experienced this type of traditional Arab hospitality at a hotel (was my partner's first time experiencing it). Staying here was a delight. It's also a really convenient location -- about 50 minutes from Wadi Damm / 90 minutes from Bat/Al Ayn Beehives... 15 minutes from Misfat al Abriyeen... 40 minutes from Nizwa... and he's arranged so you can get really yummy local food delivered from a nearby restaurant.

**At this place we stepped into an Arabian fairytale!** The host gave us the warmest **traditional Arabic welcome** with **dates and coffee**. He was incredibly kind—driving us around the city in his own car, showing us the sights, and sharing Omani hospitality at its finest. But the surprises didn’t stop there! He invited us into his home, introduced us to his family, and his wife adorned our hands with delicate **paint tattoos (henna)**. Throughout our stay, he took such good care of us—helping plan our trips, sharing stories of local life, and making us feel like honored guests. The hotel itself was a dream: immaculate, cozy, and luxurious, with a sunlit courtyard blooming with fragrant flowers. Thanks to them, I didn’t just leave with memories—I left with **friends in Oman**. A thousand thanks for making our journey so magical! We’ll be back!

Our stay at Ahmed's was impeccable! His kindness and helpfulness are indescribable; we really felt at home. He went out of his way to help us, from cleaning the car to assisting us with the washing machines, even recommending a great restaurant for dinner. Upon our arrival he welcomed us with tea and cake (delicious), a gesture that perfectly reflected his education, friendliness and big heart. The room was huge, spotlessly clean and quiet. The value for money is unbeatable, and for all it offers, it is an experience we would recommend without hesitation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Ahmed, and a special greeting to your wonderful children as well!

We enjoyed the stay so much, such a special place!! The host was the very best representative for the friendly Omani people. He took us for sightseeing to some beautiful stops to get the views of this old and genuin town, told us about the culture, served us tea and cakes on our little picninc. This was the most special day to remember from our trip to Oman! We loved the rooms, clean and beautiful, very good beds, you have very nice seating areas outside the rooms, barbeque and kitchen to share with orher guests, playground for children and even landryroom if you need washing your clothes. Wish we had planned more days here! Absolutely want to come back for a longer stay!!

The hospitality of the host Ahmed is exceptional. He communicated clear with us in advance of our arrival. Tea and cakes are ready when we arrived. We got to meet his kids. He gave us information of the nearby attractions. Room is clean, tidy with good wifi. The location is perfect with lots of activities to do around just outside of a busy Nizwa and Bahla.

It was overwhelming to see how the host was always helping and giving more than we were asking for. He did it so good that his accommodation felt as a second home. It was always good to talk with him, and he represents the hospitality of Oman in person. It was also nice to talk to his lovely family. The accommodation was very relaxed and looked very nice. A typical location to stay for more than just one night, especially because from there you can do a lot of things: Nizwa, Bahla fort, Jabrin Castle, Jebel Shams (balcony walk) and maybe even Bat or other necropolis.

Ahmed's Al Shuruq Stay is located around the beautiful mountains in the quaint little village of Al Hamra. Let me start with how he is an excellent, gem of a host to all the guests, he treats everyone like family! He welcomed us very warmly into our room which was named after Misfat Al Abriyeen. It was a very well furnished, spacious and comfy room that was actually prettier in person than in the photos! The bathroom was neat and the beds were comfortable. All the amenities were readily available, there was even a kitchen accessible to all guests. Throughout the stay, Ahmed was only one WhatsApp Message away. He was incredibly helpful and also drove us to show his village and even went the extra mile to take care of my sister who fell ill during the journey. The stay is very close to grocery shops, fuel station and restaurants and over all is a very safe place. Al Hamra is a beautiful, calm and cozy place nestled between the mountains and has the kindest people. I loved it there and will definitely visit again! I would 10/10 recommend Al Shuruq Stay, it has the best location, rooms and host in the town! 🫶

Too many lights in the room. Hard to remember which switch for which lamp. But it is me, maybe for others it is an advantage.

Ahmed is a very kind and adaptable host. The place is very nice and deserve to arrive earlier to enjoy all the facilities among which the bbq. It’s a good place for friends traveling around or family.

The owner/host Ahmed is extremely friendly and welcoming. We were welcomed with tea/coffee and very tasty fresh fruits. The team even organized a BBQ dinner with the other tourists, which was a very pleasant evening. We were also able to use the washing machine and the room was very spatious and clean.

10/10 Great clean stay with excellent indoor and outdoor kitchens! We’re travelling with 4 bicycles, and Mr Ahmed kindly let us safely store our bikes in the courtyard while we went hiking for 2 days.

Mr.Ahmed was an amazing person and it was like a stay home feel.. kids enjoyed the most. It is situated in the centre, where you can roam around very easily for all the main areas…

Good location and value for money.

Everything was superb. Ahmed is a friendly and hospitable host, always available to help with anything. Rooms were big, clean and smelled fresh. Location is great for trips, cheap eateries and supermarkets within a short drive. Fully equipped (incl oil, salt, tea and coffee) shared kitched.

It was not only the accommodation, but also the host, Mr. Ahmed, which made our stay extremely pleasant and comfortable. We are Romanians, and we have this mentality that, when someone comes to your house, to put everything you have on the table. It was exactly the same with Mr. Ahmed that went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The property is at a great location surrounded by mountains and most importantly just 1 hr drive from Jabel shams mountain and one can get all essential items at the town. The property has a lot of open space which we can’t enjoy in the city life. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The host Mr Ahmed is a very generous person who would always help you to make the stay more comfortable.

Great place. Calm, comfortable, modern in the midst of the beautiful nature of the surroundings, and also near to the restaurant street of Al-Hamra. Excellent location to reach all the main attractions of this area of Oman (Jebel Shams, Nizwa, Bahla, etc.). And the best for the last, Ahmed (an his friends), a true example of arabian warmth and heartful hospitality.

Stay was pretty good. Host (Ahmed) was super friendly and very welcoming. He offered us Omani khawa and dates when we arrived. Location is good and pleasant. Rooms, washroom and kitchen are very clean and you can also cook if you want.

Wonderful stay with Ahmed, very friendly. Brand new guest house nicely decorated. Just 3 rooms available, so not much noise. kitchen, laundry available and amazing food delivered on order. Big bed, large room and shower.

The room feels like a 5 star hotel vibes. New furnitures with complete toiletries. With beautiful shared lounge, shared kitchen and kids play area. Very advisable to stay here if travelling near or in Al Hamra area.
