The owner even let us know where the kettle for the gas stove was before we noticed that the power was gone. We can only recommend this gem and will happily return in future! Reviewed Mar 29, 2026This property was completely private... easy access, pretty garden, conveniently located near shops and main road. The Netflix facility was most welcome. Everything was well labelled and well explained. The kitchen was very well set up, the bedroom and bathroom was large and comfortable. We loved all the little touches, everywhere.
We visited during a very hot weekend, the aircon in the house was only strong enough for the bedroom... we battled a little bit in the lounge.

The little touches was so welcomed - the little choccie on the pillow and not forgetting the coffee voucher. Everything was thought of and considered. What a treat. Will definitely be back. The unit is SO MUCH cuter in real life with so many beautiful little details (every cupboard is labelled so that you don't have to search for a plate or a glass). Normally, I don't bother to read the book that provides additional information, but this one was so funny, that my daughter insisted I read the whole thing. And, I'm glad we did because we found a bunch of games on offer, which we played for hours! Amazing stay from the very first minute :D I'll be sending family and friends for years to come

Reviewed Mar 3, 2026There wasn't breakfast included, but the apartment was very clean and comfy. Teagan was friendly and made us feel very welcome - there was a lovely welcome note and even a voucher for free coffee at Piggly Wiggly.
I would've loved a bath in the bathroom, but my hubby loved the shower. A TV in the bedroom as well would've been a bonus.

Reviewed Feb 11, 2026We really enjoyed our stay in this quaint, private, pet friendly cottage. Teagan and her husband were great hosts. They went the extra mile for my husband's birthday. The cottage is small, but we'll equipped with everything you need and nicely private. I would definitely recommend this cottage that is great value for money.
Two small things, but nothing major. A slightly squeaky bed, and the aircon unit did not get cool enough. However, the cottage does supply a fan, so with both the aircon and a fan, we were very comfortable. It's a lovely cottage.

Reviewed Jan 25, 2026Sehr schönes Cottage mit eigenem Zugang und Gartenbereich in ruhiger aber zentraler Lage. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Küche ist extrem gut bestückt, so dass man sehr gut auch selber kochen kann. Die Gastgeber sind angenehm freundlich und entgegenkommend, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben!

The extra touches like the hot water bottles, sherry, plunger coffee and milk were a lovely surprise and makes you feel at home. The unit is spacious and has a lovely kitchen and even a small braai in the courtyard.

Reviewed Dec 13, 2025The cottage is well equipped, tastefully put together and really pretty. Everything has been thought of for a guests comfort. Set in a beautiful, cared for garden just makes it even more lovely.
Perhaps a table outside to eat at as there are chairs in the garden, would be lovely to be able to eat in the garden.

We traveled with our fur babies and they enjoyed the spacious garden. The cottage is also perfectly situated near restaurants, shopping centres, nature reserves and it's under 10 minutes to either the Karkloof area or Midlands Meander.

We so enjoyed our stay at Aloe Garden cottage, everything was so delightfully tailored to any travelers needs with a spacious, clean & secure cottage with everything a couple might need with their dog! The owners were so friendly & helpful ! They gave us wonderful recommendations on where to go & where to dine… We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone who wants a secure & cozy atmosphere!

The cottage itself is well designed, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I had a wonderful stay with just me & my dog for almost a week. But it would also be great for a couple or even a family just for a short stay. Highly recommend.

Reviewed May 10, 2025Aloe garden cottage is in a lovely part of Howick. It has a private, secure entrance and parking space, with electric gate. The cottage is nicely decorated and small kitchen well equipped for the size. Comfortable bed, with good linen. Wonderful good sized bathroom, with a large walk in shower. Really private and not overlooked. The garden is spacious and well maintained. Outdoor furniture and BBQ (braai). Teagan was really accommodating as we arrived a bit late on our first day, as our flight was delayed.
