Nordic Villa in Rovaniemi with a Private Sledding Hill, Sauna & Cozy Family Stay

Everything was super clean, villa was super well equipped, the host Leena was greatly welcoming, kind and supportive, amazing location for spotting aurora. Generally pictures of places are better than reality but in this case Im was opposite, villa was much more better that the pictures. We were group of 6-7 ppl and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a hassle free experience.

It may be a bit hard to go to center. You need to use uber or bolt. But we preferred it

Krásný pohodlný dům v klidné části, v blízkosti lesa. Přes les se dá krásnou procházkou asi 20 minut dojít do Santovy vesničky. Byli jsme všichni nadšeni.

Firstly, our host Leena was amazing. She was so responsive and patient with all our questions. She organised car and winter clothes rental for us and honestly went above and beyond to make our stay magical. The house was amazing, the sledding hill was a highlight each day for the kids and there was plenty of space for us all (4 adults and 5 kids). There was a sauna and a fire pit too which made nice activities for the evenings. You could walk to SCV from the house, about 20mins through a forest trail. A small shop about 15mins walk away but otherwise a car was needed. The house was well stocked, it had everything you could need on terms of cooking/eating but also things like toiletries and towels. There were 2 double rooms, one room with 2 singles and one room with 3 singles. There was also some boardgames and Lego etc for kids to play with although the snow was such a novelty for them most of their time was spent outside.

Honestly nothing! I can't fault the house or host. It was quite expensive for the week but then Finland is expensive anyway and we had no regrets staying there. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Leena the host was the best. She put me at ease the minute I booked our DIY Lapland trip and we even managed to check in early!

From our initial enquiry to leaving the property Leena (the owner) was simply amazing, helpful and went way beyond her role to help and assist us. We’ve stayed at many properties before but none have even come close this touch of magic. The setting is just something magical, down a quiet snowy street with no through traffic so is perfect for peace and quiet. A 2 minute walk down the street and you’re in a beautiful snowy, wooded Forrest where you can easily walk with children through to SCV. That said our kids didn’t want to go out and explore as the house itself is just perfect. The layout and size is great for small and large families alike with the 4 huge bedrooms. Amazing dining space with views out across the garden and snowy street - not to mention the underfloor heating which keeps the house so warm and toasty! Now the garden… this is the biggest bonus for any family or adults who love to relive their childhood! Snow covered with its own sledging hills - not one but 2!! Leena has a selection of sleds, boards, mats and discs for you to use - there’s even a sled bike and scooter which was a big hit with our little ones! Again we cannot thank Leena enough for her time and effort before and during our stay - we will 100% be back to visit again! Leena also knew it was our son’s birthday while we were there so had a gift waiting for when we arrived… 🙏

It was absolutely snuggly. A home away from home. The house had everything we needed. Deliveries were easy to the door (Wolt). Location was superb. Just a couple of mins from the Santa Village. Leena and Pekka were so helpful and accommodating. Pekka came and set up a fire for us outside with sausages to cook. They had all the sledding gear, snow boards etc, had some snowballs already made for the kids. It was perfect for a family stay. Leena can do all activities and bookings as well.

The bungalow was very clean and very spacious. It was very well equipped with all that you need.The sledging hill behind the property was brilliant

The lodge was very clean, warm and cosy with comfortable beds, little treats of chocolate and drinks waiting for us. The rooms are very inviting with soft lighting and lots of hanging space. The kitchen is fully equipped for everything you would need.

We think the property was perfect.

Probably the best holiday home my family and I have ever stayed in.. The owners make your stay so special with the attention to detail and helpful communication.. The kids didn’t want to leave 😊

Absolutely nothing

The property was very well equipped and in a great location with easy access. As a family of 6 adults and 1 child we felt like we had enough space and it was a home away from home and surprisingly warm given the -20 degree temperatures we encountered. The house is on a quiet street which is a short taxi ride away from the airport (uber is readily available) with a mini supermarket a short taxi ride away.. We had a magical walk to Santa Claus village in the thick snow which takes around 20 mins. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire pit toasting marshmallows and sledging in the back garden. Highly recommend this for a visit to Lapland.

Fantastic hosts, location. Everything advertised was as expected. Could not be happier with our stay. Lovely neighborhood to stay in. The sledding hill kept the children entertained for the entirety of our stay.

Leena the host answered emails prior to our arrival promptly, she also kept us updated on when the Northerm lights were seen outside sonwe could go outside to watch. The house was warm and cosy, the size of the house was great for 2 families of 4. The outdoor sledding hill was a hit with the kids and the adults. Location was close to everything we needed, but just tooooo cold to walk, -21..!!! Taxis were always available and the Finnish people are all lovely and speak amazing English. Will deffinately be back for more..!!!

Das Haus ist superschön und ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns total wohl und Willkommen gefühlt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Leena die Gastgeberin war schon im Vorfeld sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und hat alle Fragen schnell beantwortet. Onni, der Sohn, hat uns freundlich empfangen und das Haus gezeigt und alles erklärt. Wir waren mit unserer Wahl mehr als zufrieden und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Fully equipped house with lovely backyard in the wood. We travelled with another family, and this house is PERFECTTTTT for all of our 4 children. They can play in the backyard for hours and had so much fun!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Nordic Villa. From the moment we arrived, the hosts were incredibly helpful and so friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The house itself is spectacular—beautifully designed, spacious, and packed with great facilities. We loved having a sauna on-site, and the sledding right outside was a fantastic bonus! The surrounding woods made the setting even more magical. One of the absolute highlights was being able to see the Northern Lights from the garden—a truly unforgettable experience. There was also a fire pit, where we spent a beautiful evening roasting marshmallows and sausages, making great family memories. The location is perfect—just seven minutes from the airport, five minutes from Santa Claus Village, and close to Rovaniemi town, making it ideal for exploring the area. Despite being so close to everything, the villa still felt peaceful and private. A special mention to the owners for their generosity—they had food waiting for us, including frozen pizzas and fresh fruit, since we arrived late that evening. This thoughtful touch made all the difference. From a family perspective, you couldn’t find a better place to stay. We couldn’t recommend Nordic Villa highly enough—it was an absolutely perfect stay, and we’ll definitely be back!

Host was very proactive and communicated great. Helped with all the information we needed and took great care while it was snowing outside. Proactively ensured that pathways are not slippery.

Everything perfect . The property was amazing. Clean, the beds were comfy, excellent location. We timed our walk to the Santa Claus Village at 15 mins steady pace, with the children it took longer because it involved lots of playing en route. The walk is beautiful and easy, through the forest. The property owners are great. Lovely people, so helpful, Pekka came on our last night and we lit the fire pit, we cooked sausages and did sledging in the dark . We had supplies waiting for us when we arrived...pizzas, huge bowl of fruit, coffee, tea etc., loo rolls....the local supermarket does free delivery when you order online, even late at night ! Loved this place, can't wait to come again

There is nothing to fault it.

The house was beautiful and clean but it was the personal touches such as books and toys for the children, a wide selection of sledges, fruit and chocolate on arrival, made it all the more homely. Leenas communication was consistent and helpful throughout our stay, she even messaged us to let us know of some beautiful cloud formations and the northern lights. It was not too far from the city centre or from Santa Claus village but it was far enough away to feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. My husband is already planning a return trip.

The day bed under the lounge window wasn't as comfortable as the sofa but this is nitpicking, I completely blame my dad for hogging the sofa.

We spent three wonderful and fabulous days in this villa, we were greeted by candles and garlands, when we entered the warmth and comfort touched us and from the window we could see the fire, the house has absolutely everything you need and a super sauna, there is a slide outside, the children were delighted, we definitely recommend it, thank you Leena and see you next time

Very comfortable, cozy, and clean. Gorgeous location, we went on lovely walks and pulled the kids in sleds. Very friendly and responsive hosts. Made us feel welcome the whole time. 10/10 happy with our choice. It was a bit far from conveniences like food and restaurants if you don’t have a car, but we chose to use taxis and food deliveries which still worked out cheaper for us than hiring a car and it was never an issue for us.

It was pretty much perfect. A bath would have been a bonus for the kids in the evening, but the shower was a huge walk in which made washing kids easy anyway.

Beautiful Villa, exceptionally well equipped and generously stocked and decorated for new year. Sledging hill was great fun, perfect location close to everything.

The hosts were extremely helpful, we even got a campfire when we asked! We had a most wonderful 3nights stay near the Santa Claus Village and ended up spending more time relaxing and sleighing at the property. Highly recommend!

The house was perfect. There is everything you need. Home from home. The host left essentials in the press. its only 2km from santa clause village and the sledding hill kept the kids entertained for hours. The sauna was also a plus.

By far the best accommodation we have stayed at in Finland! Awesome facilities, great deco and the surrounding slope/area is extremely peaceful and superbly entertaining for both kids and adults.

A little bit difficult trying to locate the property on Google maps due to guidance issues which initially led us to another property nearby, as there are several similar looking houses in the near vicinity. But other than this minor thing, the entire experience was spot-on perfect!

The kids loved playing on the sledging slope and all the sledges / boards to play with. The house was lovely and clean and catered for our every need.

Amazing Hosts, you'd be hard pushed to find better! Pekka And Leena go out of their way to make guests feel happy. Thank You. The Property was excellent and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Not used to softer mattresses.

Everything was super! A house had all that we needed. Communication with Leena was easy and quick. Good location, we always took taxi and it was super fast. My children were excited with riding equipment for sliding. Lovely house and lovely place. I will miss it.

We booked this villa to gather 2 sets of families under one roof as it is only a short walking distance from the Santa village. Every single person in our large group of 9 was amazed how welcoming and cozy this house was. The pictures just don't do it justice. The house is literally equipped with everything you can think of and beautifully decorated throughout. The piano was a big hit amongst adults and kids. The adults enjoyed the sauna and the large kitchen table for board games while the kids were thrilled to slide down the hill at the back. There was a big window in the living room to relax and keep an eye on the kids playing in the snow. We were all up at the kitchen window admiring the bunnies that came to eat the hay laid out by the owners. The owners deserve 10* and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as magical as possible. To Leena and her family- we just wanted to say thanks so much! The night of the BBQ was one of the highlights of our holidays. KIITOS PALJON!

This house is amazing. Travelling with 6 kids is a never easy but this property seemed like home away from home and had enough space and then some. We walked with sledges in tow to both SantaPark and Santa Claus Village so is ideally located. The kids loved the space outside and at this time of year was like a winter wonderland. The property photos really don’t do this place justice. It was clean, warm (even though -20 outside) and decorated beautifully throughout. Highly recommended 5 star ⭐️

The house was definitely a golden gem near Santa Claus Village. Our group had 6 adults and 3 children and we enjoyed the house so much that we didn’t even want to go anywhere. The house was so cozy and spacious at the same time, and so well equipped with everything from cookwares to spices. We also spent alot of time outside by the firepit watching the kids play with the sleds.
