The kubo unit is good enough for 4 pax. Clean bedsheets and toilet. Nice breakfast. Overall stay is good, just enough for the price we paid since we stayed only overnight to sleep and rest from our whole day tour around the area. Might book again if we will tour in Bolinao next time.
The electric fan provided was old already and the air feom the efan was not that good already. We stayed during summer and it is not recommended to stay on their kubo units. Suring cold season yes i think kubo is just fine. Also, there was nowater supply in the kitchen sink for about 6hrs. And the water since its summer is very warm. Feels like it has a heater haha. The road on the eay to the kubo unit is a bit challenging.
Always making us feel satisfied especially Lyka and her Team they're very accomodating
That they're so kind , just kidding, ill say none
The staff are friendly. They are really attentive to your needs. Approachable. My kidz enjoys playing the kayak.
At first we checked in.. the place is dusty.. so i asked the staff to give me cloth.. and i wipe ev3rything and because bahay kubo.. madaming bokbok ba ang tawag dun..and ung fans walang hangin na maibuga...although they give another unit for us to use..
the free kayak
very weak flow of water in the shower and bidet
Bah rien !
Lovely

The place is clean, spacious, and has a nice, relaxing ambiance.

Property was east to find. Although Virgin River Resort has just recovered from a disastrous typhoon, they have managed to make it their place is once again representable.
Rough road to our rooms, but we are sure they will manage to improve it as time pass.
It’s just new experience for me to stay in that kind of place
The place we stay it’s not the best mosquito, the facilities it’s not clean properly
Clean, Close to Nature, and friendly staffs
The location
Water
Quiet, as advertised
The resort is so peaceful and relaxing. The bamboo cabins are really cute and fun - located up a hill. I enjoyed sitting along the riverfront among the mangroves in the mornings/evenings, watching low and high tides. Meals were very good and with a wide variety. Eb met all my needs, while Felix & Berto (cats) kept me thoroughly entertained!
Not a biggie, but the path up the hill was kinda of rocky, so I had to be careful waling at night...
The rustic surroundings, the staff and best of, the FOOD!
The noisy boats during the day and the loud music from the restaurant across the river.
The staff were so accomodating. I had my dinner and asked if they had ice cream, they didn't. Unbeknown to me, one of the staff jumped on a scooter and went to the local store and picked me up an ice cream. It doesn't get much better than that.
The staffs are very accommodating and genuinely concerned about their guests. The place is peaceful super neat and clean specially the comfort rooms, relaxing and the food is delicious. I can confidently say that it is highly recommended.
Maybe I would recommend one day meal package with payment options for their long stay guests because the place is quite far from the restaurant
Pictures in the booking looks clean
When we arrive no instructional signages property looks like abandoned and the unit we choose has no ac which is not stated in their booking amenities, water heater not working, plenty of mosquito and they have no credit card payment service we have to use our pocket money to pay. Food is pricey and terribly bad. We feel scammed as they upgrade us to four times the price we actually booked just to get ac rooms.
Their breakfast is great. The room is clean, the staff are so friendly.

1. The staff. We are a senior couple, age 67 and 84. We are very well taken cared of. 2. The "bahay kubo." My partner, an Australian, loved it and said that it is something different, unique, and quaint. The ned is so comfortable. I pulled down the mosquito net, we don't need it; there are no mosquitoes. There are a total of 3 electric fans inside the kubo that kept us cool. Everything we needed were there. We loved the normal temp of the water in the shower. The T&B so clean and spacious. 3. The location. Very quiet, peaceful. At night we heard intermittently the sound of a tockay gecko, frog, night birds- they don't bother us, they're a part of what we want to experience! 4. The food. I don't know if i just made the right choice of food but every single order i made is prepared well, hot, and delicious. The chef is off duty at 5pm, so pre-order your dinner and it will be delivered to your kubo. 5. The river cruise. Just me and my partner, eating our free breakfast on a floating bahay kubo restaurant pulled by a boat. This does not come with the accommodation, but paying 1,200 is well worth it! (This price though, is good for 1-10 pax). 6. Value for money.
Not something that i really "didn't like"...but to some guests, it could be a concern: there are no restaurants nearby, and the place is quite dark to come home to. Just make sure that you are back before night time and already had your dinner. These things were not a concern for us bcos for our 2 nights of stay, we did not leave the place.
Great location. We had our breakfast by the river and did a river cruise which is really relaxing. Spacious and clean rooms.
Wifi is weak. We got electricity disruption for couple hours.
Been upgraded into Villa during our stay and my kids really love to back and book a stay with Virgin River Resort in the future

None.
It was down a beaten track, unpaved that could be very muddy if it rained and as it was dry it was very dusty instead. Huts very, very basic. Not enough space to put suitcases or hang things in the shower/toilet area.
River cruising The. Food... View...
Nature Water Boat
We book late., my only concerns is bathroom not clean properly, there so much hair in the drain., but everything is good.
Hair in the drain of shower room
All the staff are accommodating and helpful Thank you
There is no air-conditioning in the room with kids it's not too good too much mosquito
The owner and staff were exceptional. They are very accommodating and service oriented, and they said they will improve their facilities.
We knew it was supposed to be rustic, but Room floors had gaps, insects came in Comfort Room had a big window with no cover, a frog, insects came in. It was terrifying taking a bath or using the restroom wondering what would come in. There were big poo droppings stuck to the walls and on the floors, big lizards? Bats? Big rats? There were minimal lights outside, so we did not feel safe at all. The road inside going to the cottages was really bad. They said it was passable, no, poor car. We went home a day early because we were not able to sleep the first night. We informed the owner we will leave early and she offered us 1 night free stay in the future. No, I am sorry, it was not the weekend we envisioned it to be.

Everything
I consider myself a nature lover but also take comfort as a high priority. I am not really fascinated with smelling animal dung and ants crawling in the kubo hut where we stayed
The road was not cemented, there are ants crawling in the kubo hut,no air conditioning and customer service does not really reply to messages @ booking.com promptly.
I like its concept which is close to nature. I enjoyed wandering the forest like location, the trees were eft untouched and preserved. The sound of the birds is very relaxing specially on during early morning. We also enjoyed our meal on the floating boat. We should have tried kayaking but we run out of time. For sure, will go back to Virgin river resort.
I loved how our bahay kubo had everything we could potentially need: toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, toiletries, towels, slippers, and more. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. There are multiple activities around the resort, and we have nothing bad to say about this place at all. Even though there is no AC, the shade and the fans made for a really cool experience.
Nothing, everything was amazing!
The river, food, and surroundings are absolutely stunning. The owner is incredibly humble, kind & welcoming. Pick your fruits are also free.
it’s oh so different.

Very nice place
Fresh air.beautiful pñace
Situated alongside the river but within the estuary so in salt water, the location is beautiful. The traditional houses are charming if pretty basic but they have everything you need. The fans kept us perfectly cool at night and no hint of a mosquito which was surprising but very pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful doing their best to accommodate our wishes. Sheets and towels clean and white and complementary coffee and water in the room. Breakfast is a Philippine affair so more a matter of taste than a question of quality for a European such as me. The water sports are GREAT and were the making of the place for the kids.
I like a hot shower in the morning but cold only I am afraid for that bracing start to the day! The archery and bb gun is at an extra cost. They are expanding the site so some building works currently.
It is a great location if you would like to stay in a traditional Kubo/Nipa hut just like in the past. I booked three Kubo houses and each house had two rooms inside (each could fit around 2 adults) and a small living room. it was very clean and there was Wi-Fi available. The resort and floating restaurant was less than 5 minute walk.
1. only one Kubo had a built in toilet and some fans were a bit small. Still, if you prefer to try the real traditional way of Kubo, this is a nice place to start. 2. It is best to check-in before sunset or it would be too dark to find the place and appreciate what it has to offer.
We had a very nice welcome. We arrived super early, just wanted to drop off our bags and check-in later. While they offered us breakfast they prepared our room quickly, so we could settle after a rough sleep on a night bus. The place still feels quite new. They are still building some staff, but the management and staff are great, quickly adapting to new needs. We wanted to hire scooters, but couldn't. Apparently it's not a thing in Bolinao (yet?). Foreign tourism is not common there (2023 Feb). The management offered us rides, throughout our stay, which was a very thoughtful compensation. We are vegetarians, which is becoming more of an issue the Northern you travel in Luzon, but you can always find your way, if you negotiate with the staff. The resort was also very helpful on this one. I read in former reviews that someone from Europe was missing fruits form the breakfast, which they already implemented for us. We liked the more European style breakfast, even though only Asian is on the menu.
The huts are cute and cozy, but a little too close to each other for our taste, despite the large land. The "living room area" is quite open, which is lovely but be mindful what you're wearing when stepping out from the shower, not to run into a construction worker building the hut next door :) Also, you need to walk a bit on the land itself, which is still a work in progress. It was okay for us, just mentioning, since it might be an issue for some people. The beach you want to go to is Patar, which is 7km away. So you need to find some sort of transport. We didn't go to the closer beaches, since only accessible through other resorts and didn't look so nice. Also, we found it a bit overpriced for what you get. In Palawan you get a beach bungalow for the same price, but we were very nicely compensated by the staff.
the price of the stay
property is still in development process
accommodating and friendly staff. Specially ate eve for extra mile na effort.
weak source of water in the morning
very remote and the road inside the property is very disgusting. I almost ruined my tires..
Breakfast was so good! Place is very relaxing.
lovely location especially during the day. The staff were very accommodating and there were lots of activities you could do during the day, from kayaking to doing an air-soft shooting range.
Not many options for food at night and seemed to be understaffed. Although it is understandable because the place is still a new establishment. We stayed overnight and also were woken up multiple times very early in the morning because of the gardeners. Overall though we had a great time!
