Cosy self contained cottage with stunning views

Location location location. Views over the lake were stunning. Nice self contained accommodation with owners nearby. Very friendly welcome and appreciated the duck eggs. It was a lovely place to stay.

It’s an amazing place to retreat from busy life. Nature, animals, tranquility. All that you need to feel great again.

Stunning views of Loch Derg. Very, very friendly and helpful hosts. They were a great help when I had a problem with the hire car. I felt very much at home with the hosts.

Wat ons het meest beviel was het uitzicht op het meer en de rust. We hadden geluk met het weer en genoten om ons ontbijt (of avondmaal) te nuttigen met zicht op het meer. De gastvrouw was ook heel vriendelijk, in de keuken vonden we oa. brood, melk, eieren,... We hebben enorm genoten van onze tijd in het huisje.

We loved the place! The best sunsets ever from the view of the lounge! Roisin took great care of us! Loved the cute ducks! The kitchen facilities were perfect for cooking all the lovely things we bought at the farmers market!

If you are looking for a hidden gem you have it here 100%. It was so relaxing and peaceful exactly what we were looking for. Our Host Roisin was amazing thank you for letting me finish the breakfast in time, our cottage had everything you need and we couldnt be happier with our trip away.

Die Lage und der Ausblick sind traumhaft! Das kleine Nebenhaus liegt zum Teil hinter dem Haupthaus, das heißt man hat den schönen Ausblick auf den See "nur" aus dem Wohnzimmer. Aber dort ist er toll! Wir haben es genossen, auch bei Regen mit einer Tasse Tee vor dem großen Fenster zu sitzen und dem schnell wechselnden Wetter- und Wolkenspiel über dem See zuzuschauen. Besonders charmant sind auch die Hausgänse, die vor dem Wohnzimmerfenster in einem kleinen Becken baden und auf und ab laufen. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wenn wir Fragen hatten, haben uns aber ansonsten unsere Privatsphäre gelassen. Eine kleine, schöne Terrasse mit Ausblick steht nur dem Cottage zur Verfügung, wir haben sie nur wegen des wechselhaften und windigen Wetters nicht genutzt. Es war toll, dass der Kühlschrank schon mit Milch, Eiern, Toast, Butter und Marmelade ausgestattet war, so dass wir für das erste Frühstück nichts einkaufen mussten. Tee und Kaffee war ebenfalls vorhanden. Wir haben die letzten 2 Nächte unseres 10-tägigen Roadtrips hier übernachtet und haben es sehr genossen, nach den B&B-Zimmern zuvor nun ein kleines Cottage mit mehr Platz, eigener Küche und viel Ruhe und Aussicht ganz für uns zu haben, um unsere Reise ruhig ausklingen zu lassen. Es war auch der perfekte Ort für einen regnerischen, windigen Tag bzw. um den Regen abzuwarten, um dann später für eine Wanderung aufzubrechen. Vielen Dank für Euer "Cozy Cottage" und alles Gute!

Der einzige kleine "Mangel" war die Bettgröße und die Matratze. Das Doppelbett ist recht schmal für zwei Personen und die Matratze war sehr weich und schon etwas durchgelegen, so dass wir beide immer in die Mitte gerollt sind und es bei jeder Bewegung geschaukelt hat. Hier würde sich die Investition in eine neue Matratze lohnen, um noch besser in diesem schönen, ruhigen Cottage schlafen zu können! Auch die Pfanne und der Herd sind schon etwas älter und könnten erneuert werden. Aber das sind wirklich die einzigen kleinen Minuspunkte.

Such a lovely cottage and the view was amazing! The hosts provided fresh eggs and bread and thought of every little thing.

It is quite far out but this isn’t a big issue at all, just something to be aware of. I would highly recommend staying here and prebooking taxis to/from Killaloe if this is something you would need!

The location is fabulous, very peaceful with stunning view over Lough Derg. Roisin and Charlie were very helpful with advice local facilities and for very good food in Ballina. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We enjoy the wonderful view and the cosy atmosphere of the place ! It was also funny with the ducks :-). The place had all what we need to stay for one night and the hosts were really nice and available.

Had an absolutely amazing few days at the cottage! The facilites were fantastic. Róisín and Charlie left fresh eggs, milk, bread and jam for us which were lovely to have each morning for breakfast! The highlight for us were the resident geese who took frequent dips in their paddling pool next to the cottage. Would love to come back again! Thank you so much Róisín and Charlie!

Nothing! I would just recommend to people thinking of booking to have your own car and not be relying on public transport. However, the hosts left a booklet with taxi numbers and there is a lovely local taxi man named John who brought us in and out of the pub!

We had a short but wonderful stay in the cosy cottage this week! It was easy to find and extremely comfortable and cosy! Roisín met us on arrival and showed us around..the cottage is well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Beautiful views of the lake..Roisín is a wonderful, kind and friendly host and we will be back to visit again for sure!

Roisin is a wonderful host, she hsd gluten free bread for me. Organic eggs and fabalous marmalade.. the views of the Shannon are stunning Very private. I loved The quietness of the countryside with no traffic noise at all though its close to busy road. Its in the country and close to Ballina and lots of walks and lake access locally.

I only stayed one night

Bread, milk, butter in the fridge and tea and coffee in the kitchen to meet my needs for breakfast, I did not arrive until 10:30 had a great nights sleep, Great facilities and very clean and quite.

Our stay at the Cosy Cottage on Lough Derg was wonderful. Charlie and Roisin were the perfect hosts. From stocking the fridge with fresh eggs (from their own chickens) and breakfast supplies, providing robes and slippers to giving great advice, it was all the small details that made our stay stress free and relaxing. The view is spectacular. The towns of Ballina and Killaloe were charming. If you're planning a trip to Lough Derg or looking for a base to travel from just north of Limerick, we highly recommend the Cosy Cottage. Thank you, Charlie and Roisin for a wonderful stay.

It was a lovely cosy place, very clean. The owners are in the main house beside the cottage and they were so welcoming and accommodating. They even left out fresh eggs from their hens, milk, bread when I arrived. They were very kind and helpful. I would definitely book that place again. Beautiful views of the lake. Good location

Nice countryside cottage with lake view. Cottage was clean and well equipped. Great little town just minutes away with great pubs and restaurants.

Cottage surroundings were a bit unkept. Lake view is somewhat obstructed from the main house. No chance of walking to the lake, it is quite distant from the house.

beautifull position and view. everything so green and quite. big enogh, with privacy. everything was at his place, and i spent so many time looking through the window to the panorama! the position was also good, few mintues to the villages, with pubs and restaurants available

After travelling for two weeks, multiple pods and hotels, we had the best nights sleep right here. The property is tucked away privately, with a fantastic view of the lake from the living room window. It is well heated, with the ability to increase if needed as extra oil heaters supplied. The kitchen has everything you could need in your own home, to make a meal including a microwave. The shower is hot, and the water runs well. There are books to fill your evenings, and plenty of shops to drive for food/take out/pub. On arrival we had bread butter, eggs, home made marmalade and milk, which is such a lovely touch. The ducks add an even more rustic touch, and it was truely an all round delight staying here. We were able to relax, in peace and quiet.

The cottage is cozy, with everything one might need. The view is spectacular. All these things would be enough to make this our best stay in Ireland, but I have to mention especially the great kindness of the owners, Roisin in particular. They have helped us a lot with an unexpected event we had in Limerick. Extremely suggested!

Self contained and everything the traveller could wish for and having no tv was an absolute boon too. Eat in or out, choice is yours, definitely recommend.

The view of the lake was spectacular. The hosts are very nice and provide homemade marmalade, bread, eggs, milk, coffee, sugar, butter and numerous seasonings to cook with. The property is close to places and very relaxing. Loved this place and would love to go back.

The location was beautiful with amazing scenery, and lovely and quiet. Roisin and Charlie were very generous hosts and left us farm fresh eggs from their chooks and ducks and some other breakfast goodies. The view from the window was stunning and the location was perfect as there is a lot to see around Killaloe.

There wasn’t a tv but that didn’t end up being a problem.

It s really nice and you find everything you need! Everything is really clean, comfortable and lovely. You can stay longer without problems. The view is amazing and you have also some nice animals arround with makes it a amazing lovely place with fresh eggs from the garden!
