Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Easy to walk around in the centre without needing a vehicle. Staff was friendly and helped organising a tea factory tour. Got a great last minute deal.
There is only a wooden louver window in the bathroom, with no glass window that can be closed to keep the heat and humidity out. There is also no shower wall or curtain, so the half bathroom gets wet after showering. The breakfast area is open, so birds can easily access the food. I love animals, but I don’t think it’s necessary to feed them leftovers directly from the tables where guests are eating afterwards, especially considering the hygiene issue (bird droppings). Proper vegetarian/vegan options for breakfast would be appreciated.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Vriendelijk ontvangst met op de kamer een heerlijk brandend kacheltje. Op bed een lekker warme deken voor de nacht. Wij kwamen eind van de dag aan na een mooie zonnige dag en toen was het nog net een graad of 15 dus kacheltje en deken meer dan welkom.
Ontbijtzaal iets gedateerd en zou iets netter en gezelliger aangekleed kunnen worden. In de badkamer zit een houten luik zonder glas, dit kan iets tochten waardoor de badkamer wat kouder is.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026A great hotel for a stopover. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Because we had to leave early the next morning to catch the train, they kindly prepared a large breakfast bag for us to take with us. The room was clean and comfortable, and the little heater was a nice touch, especially in the cooler weather. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stopover.

Die vielen Vögel, gerade beim Frühstück. Die Tische waren teilweise voller Vogelkot.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026We hebben hier twee nachten verbleven. Beide nachten goed geslapen door een zeer comfortabel bed. Het ontbijt was prima en het personeel zeer vriendelijk. Het hotel zit op een goede plek gevestigd, waardoor je met gemak bij leuke plekjes terecht komt. Een high tea bij het grand hotel kunnen wij zeker aanraden.
In de badkamer zat schimmel. Ook was het daar erg koud en kon het niet goed doortochten, waardoor onze handdoeken nat bleven en er een onaangename geur in de kamer hing. Het hotel is van buiten erg mooi, maar mist van binnen sfeer. Leuke sfeerverlichting op de kamer en een renovatie van de ontbijtruimte zou de accommodatie absoluut omhoog halen. Verder was het hoofdkussen erg plat. Een tweede hoofdkussen was prettig geweest. En tot slot miste het aan plek om je spullen op te bergen of neer te zetten. Een stoel, zou daar bijvoorbeeld al bij helpen.

Lots of birds are accessing the breakfast area, because the nests are kept directly in the outdoor lamps of the building. The birds are jumping and pooping around the set breakfast tables, which is very unhygienic. Furthermore, unfinished breakfast stays regularly at the tables after people leave and the birds will have their feast. Therefore, we felt very uncomfortable as birds can transmit diseases and we didn‘t know for how long the birds had a party on our table before we arrived.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Wir können dieses Hotel sehr empfehlen. Wir waren zwar nur für eine Nacht dort, haben uns aber sehr wohlgefühlt. Bereits vor unserer Ankunft war die Kommunikation sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Für uns wurde auch ein Taxi organisiert, was wunderbar funktioniert hat. Die Unterkunft liegt ruhig in einer Seitenstraße, trotzdem kann man das Stadtzentrum sehr gut zu Fuß erreichen. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer im Erdgeschoss, das für uns als Familie sehr praktisch war. Da wir am nächsten Morgen schon sehr früh abreisen mussten, bekamen wir sogar eine Frühstücksbox mit auf den Weg – ein wirklich toller Service! Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt war etwas Schimmel an einer Wand in unserem Zimmer. Da wir das Fenster über Nacht geöffnet hatten und dadurch genügend frische Luft hatten, war dies für unsere eine Nacht aber kein grösseres Problem.

Wir haben uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Auch die Lage war super. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!
Es gab nichts zu bemängeln – wir waren rundum zufrieden.

The dining area is something that could be significantly improved. One of the main issues is the distance between the kitchen and the dining area. Since the food has to be brought from outside and carried up the stairs, it takes quite a lot of time for the food to reach the table, which affects the overall dining experience. I would strongly recommend that the owner consider renovating and redesigning the dining and kitchen facilities, ideally by having a proper kitchen on the same floor as the dining area. This would improve efficiency, reduce waiting times, and provide a much better experience for guests.

Ο κυριος στη ρεσεψιον ηταν εξυπηρετικος με τις μεταφορες μας στο σταθμο του τρενου και μας εδωσε ολες τις λεπτομερειες για την αναχωρηση του τρενου που μας ενδιεφερε. Την μερα του check out μας ετοιμασαν breakfast box γιατι ειχαμε πρωινη αναχωρηση. Το συστηνω ανεπιφυλακτα!

The staff was helpful and arranged taxi to the next location and stop at the tea plantation and waterfall at a reasonable price. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds and bathroom.
There is little mold on the walls due to high humidity in the area but room is comfortable.

We hadden de kamer op het gelijkvloers naast de receptie en daar was zowel 's morgens als 's avonds lawaai door de medewerkers en de televisie/muziek die stond te spelen. De elektriciteit viel geregeld uit. Het is een oké verblijf, maar erg duur tov vergelijkbare verblijven in Sri Lanka.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Mooie locatie, je kon overal makkelijk naar toe lopen of er reden veel tuktuks. Waren ruime kamers met meerdere balkonnetjes en de airco deed het goed! Het personeel was vriendelijk en gaven steeds nieuwe flesjes water.
Laat niet het hotel je taxi chauffeur boeken (of spreek vooraf een prijs af)!! Ze hebben ons bizar veel laten betalen voor maar 20 minuten. Hij vroeg ons meer dan 5 keer zoveel als pick me. Daarna vertelde hij ons dat we nog wat extra moesten betalen bij het treinstation om naar binnen te kunnen maar stak het vervolgens in eigen zak. Daarnaast zaten er allemaal zwarte/ groen grijze vlekken op het matras- en dekbedovertrek, wat bijna leek op schimmel. In de ochtend gingen we een hike doen en we kregen ontbijt mee, dit kwam al te laat maar was ook echt niet te eten. Was zo vies dat we het niet op hebben gegeten en de hike op een lege maag deden.

Was niet zo netjes, zeker niet waar we ontbijt aten, daar zaten vogels en werden de tafels niet snel opgeruimd, nogal slordig.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026La atención de Ranjidh. Tuvimos un problema en la habitación y nos dio una solución rápida. Ademas nos preparo una infusión medicinal para calmar el resfriado que teníamos. Gracias Ranjidh.
Un ruido intermitente muy desagradable que te despertaba y no te permitía descansar. Se solucionó la segunda noche con un cambio de habitación.
