Amazing quiet location with rural setting. Loved the sheep. Cows and donkeys. Comfortable bed very quiet slept best in weeks. Friendly landlady with a very different accent to what I had expected. But very charming and full of knowledge
Shower curtain prefer glass but it's handy for disabled i guess
The charm of this rural location, the welcome by the host and the donkeys in the front field
Nothing
What can I say about my Wandering Donkey Guest House apart from that if there was an 11/10 option I would have given it. Sarah is the most wonderful host and couldn't do enough. As a vegan she had oatmilk and vegan friendly cookies ready with coffee/tea whenever wanted. The room was exceptional. So spacious. Gorgeous decor. So peaceful. Lovely views of the donkeys etc and meeting the Donkeys is great experience too. It's iin a nice peaceful remote location while still not too far from main areas (15-20 mins). I would highly recommend and I hope to get opportunity to stay again.
Nothing. There is literally nothing I can think of even to the tiniest detail.
Sarah was fantastic, very kind and gave great recommendations. The donkey, sheep and chicken were another highlight.
Staff were exceptional great hosts Comfortable Great views
I didn’t dislike a thing here
An amazing countryside retreat! The host was incredibly kind and welcoming and the peaceful surroundings were simply beautiful. We loved seeing the donkeys, goats, and hens every day, they made our stay truly memorable. A perfect escape to unwind and recharge.
Very friendly host, beautiful house and very tidy and clean room
Sarah was a genial and attentive host. The setting was beautiful and the bed was perfect.
Yes , beautiful property
Good space
I like peace and quiet. Lots of grennery. And the best what I like was name of guesthouse "Wandering Donkey". Host was friendly and helpful. Recommend to visit. Thank you.
The location is beautiful. Not far from Tullow, lovely countryside and the house is set back off a quiet road, with donkeys and goats in the paddocks. You can walk around the grounds and sit outside if you wish. The host is very welcoming and friendly. Coffee and tea making facilities in the hallway and biscuits in the jar. The room is comfortable and very quiet and the adjoining bathroom spacious and spotlessly clean.
There was nothing not to like here!
The room was clean, comfortable and the en-suite was huge! There was tea and coffee making facilities in the hallway and also a couple of slices of yummy lemon drizzle cake. Sarah, our host, was very welcoming and everything was great.
Everything was great
Some cereal left in fridge lovely location
Room was freezing cold all night so cold my wife slept in all her clothes
Easy clear instructions on how to find the place Good parking Warm welcome Great room and very clean Lovely bath Very quiet Tea/coffee available in the hall outside room
I could smell cigarette smoke
I liked the quite surroundings
A few cobwebs in the room apart from that very clean and comfortable
It’s a lovely quiet place to stay. The accommodation is ok but could be a lot better. Sarah was really pleasant and upsold the property’s services.
We were checked in not given any information or key for the property if we would like to get out at night. There was not enough toilet paper no information on the room on how to access a hair dryer no bin provided other than in the toilet and some of the decorations in the room were quite dusty which for someone with allergies could be a problem. Overall the price was ok, but the service could be a lot better. For two people staying would be nice to have more than a small sachet of shampoo, also having a kettle in the room would have been nice.
Lovely country setting plus Donkeys, goats and hens! Sarah v friendly person. Paul
Lovely room
Too much outside light
Härligt lantligt i vackra omgivningar.
Lovely host and easy check in and out.
The bath was difficult to regulate the temperature. I would have liked to have a shower available as the bath was not practical. No hairdryer available.
pieceful environment
nothing
I arrived on the evening of storm Bam! There was a power cut. Sarah messaged me in time to relocate. I decided to go anyway. Sarah appreciated no access to food locally and provided home made soup. Excellent. Also torches! The place is beautiful and spotless. I will be back next monnth!
The power cut --- but well beyond your control! The last question is ironic!!!
Comfortable homely . Plenty of hot water Tv Coffee gusto
No shower ,bath . Room was cold
Kind host, beautiful animals and land. A lovely addition with the cute coffee van in the morning and seating outside to chat with other guests too. As we had the car it was a perfect location to stay to visit a music festival Feile Vegan in Lisvardagh House nearby as it is a location suitable for car only. Already telling others about this accommodation for next year's festival as it was so convenient (6 minute drive) The room and bathroom were clean and nice. There is a kettle and coffee maker available to guests and it was a lovely place to unwind and reset as well as have the chats. I recommend coming with a 5 litre of water as it's room only and it is a remote location but Carlow town is not too far away by car and a Lidl.
Sorry I forgot to mention that the bathroom door might need altering if wd40 doesn't work as it's very loud making it hard not to disturb others at nighttime.
Very friendly - to be recommended
Very nice owner
Peaceful
Would have been helpful to have info on how to work shower. Decaffeinated tea or coffee would have been welcomed.
Very clean & comfortable. Enjoyed meeting the donkeys! Sarah was very welcoming & gave good suggestions of things to do & places to eat from her local knowledge.
Nothing not to like-it was all lovely.
The rooms were big.
The out doors were a mess for an accommodation which is quite expensive we were all a bit disappointed. What we got we would expect budget accommodation we would be ok with. The room freshener is way over powering i had to remove from our room our friends did as well. Subtle is better
I love the peace and quite and of course the donkeys the host was very helpful enjoy my stay thank you
Everything
Beds were comfy, amazing free-standing bath, host was very friendly providing us with tourist information. Donkeys and black sheep were super friendly and cute - any guesthouse with animals is a bonus for me. Host made a lovely flat white the next morning.
The heating was off when we got back from dinner so room a little cold. Which would make sense in any other country but Ireland!!
Nothing
The room is as described. Very clean and competitive priced. The owner was lovely and welcoming
Nothing
it was comfortable and Sarah and Malachi were super kind. The room was warm and the view was attractive. It was a perfect, calming experience.
nothing apparent
I didn't like the bathroom facilities bath/shower in centre of room no shade around it the floor got wet around it u find u feet slipping. Also no hand soap or liquid to wash your hands. Also the room very cold at night no heat.
Great location just over an hour out of Dublin. This was our last stop on our road trip, the host was lovely and met us when we got there. Room was large and everything we needed. We got to meet the two sweet pups on the farm and the donkeys which was so amazing! Hot water, comfy bed, coffee in the morning! All great!
The room was spacious and cozy! It was one of those rooms you could spend all day in!
Nothing could of been better
Sarah was lovely and her home is gorgeous! She was very welcoming, told us all the best places to eat and visit and we didn’t see her again until we were leaving the following morning when we got to meet her lovely little dogs! We also got to pet the donkeys too before leaving! Absolutely need a car but we would stay again! 5*
There was a stunning bath in the en-suite but we prefer a shower but that was our only “dislike” there are rooms with showers available and I believe now had I asked in advance for a room with a shower that the host would have accommodated us!
It was a lovely peaceful setting, and Sarah was an awesome host!!
I liked the large ensuite room and the grey & white colour scheme (this was the double room with patio doors) The bed was so comfortable, the bed linen was nice and I slept really well. Sarah made me yogurt and fruit for breakfast because I'm GF and couldn't eat the packaged croissants. There is tea and coffee provided in the hall. The rural location suited me well.
It is such a lovely big room, it would be nice to have some more furniture. A coffee table and little sofa or two armchairs would be a great asset. There was quite a lot of dust and cob webs and there were hairs and mould in the bathroom which needs some TLC.
Very nice cozy house, in the middle of the Irish countryside, with dogs, donkeys, horse, we saw a fox as well. Room well maintained, bathroom design very specific, but ok. No breakfast but free tea / coffee.
The bed was too narrow (140cm I guess) for 2.
We loved being on Sarah's farm and visiting her animals. Her home was lovely and inviting. Sarah even kindly made us tea and cake when we arrived. Sarah was very welcoming, considerate and thoughtful.
The owner was friendly. The room was big.
The bathroom had a lot of mould. There was only one chair in the room for two people. The garden view was overgrown weeds.
Extremely friendly staff, rooms was very clean and comfortable
The donkeys
No hot water, and the room clearly had not been cleaned for ages. See photos - they speak louder than words.
I loved the rural aspect and being close to Tullow and Carlow places I wanted to visit. Also being an easy drive from Dublin. I loved the Donkeys and Horse. The room was large and Sarah greeted me with a pot of tea and a piece of cake. Sarah and I enjoyed a chat. I fell a little in love with Molly the dog.
I couldn’t work the shower at first being unfamiliar with the hot water system.
Lovey setting and peaceful, got to the b&b late and got a lovely welcome would definitely recommend it and would stay again
Can’t fault anything
Great bathroom, very comfy beds, loved the donkeys, private, quiet, lovely host
Piece and quite
Far away from shop
The rooms was nice and clean, and the host was very friendly and welcoming.
The shower stopped working
Peaceful, quaint and very friendly host..love there were dog's and donkeys and was perfect for what we needed.
Nothing really..perfect
Sarah was very flexible and hid a key for us to check in early. The room was spacious, clean and well equiped
Host was terrific!
no breakfast location was great and the donkeys were lovely
there was no breakfast.
The hostess was lovely.
A bit hard to find in the dark.
Charming location. Loved the donkeys . Sarah is a nice host
Very hard to find. Didn’t like the glass (transparent) door to the bathroom
Pleasant, clean, pretty room. Lovely place.
Can be challenging to find... look for the black gates, as there is no sign.
Lady Owner was pleasant and nice.
Tea making facilities are in the hallway instead of each bedroom and it’s very noisy when other guests are making tea. Dogs were quite noisy too scratching on the door of the next room a few times in the night. No shower in our bathroom just a bath.
The place is very nice. With lots of nice vintage interior decor and art work. The bath tub is stand alone in the center of the bathroom which compliments the theme. The host was very welcoming and advisable on the local area. I journeyed through glendalough and the Wicklow mountains before arriving, if you have the time and transport I would recommend a trip to Hacketstown which is about 15 minutes away, and from there you can explore the mountains as far as you see fit.
There wasn’t anything to complain about from my part. There is no tv in the room which was something I noticed but it gives the incentive to go and get out in the local area.
Lovely location, Nice hosts & good country feel with the dogs & donkeys.
Took me a while to find it, but that was partly my fault.
