We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but were offered a menu each morning where we could pick anything and generally got everything - a better menu would lead to less food waste - otherwise very good

The place was very quiet in the evenings but guess our early September visit was a quiet time all round in Marrakech - nobody, including ourselves, used the pool - just didn't feel we should have swum in it somehow

A Beautiful Riad throughout with a stunning courtyard. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel really comfortable from the moment you arrive. Our suite was amazing, the food and service were great and we could not have been happier with our choice.

Convenient location to the Medina, currency exchange and taxis as well as wonderful coffee, juice and ice cream spots. Large, beautiful warm pool to relax in. Very spacious suite and pleasant staff.

Вопросы по завтракам были,были с друзьями,заказываем завтрак,а приносят как на двоих какие то позиции,просишь добавить а они говорят мол ок но за деньги.

We have stayed at Palais Dar Donab 9 times and the friendly welcome we receive from every member of staff is overwhelming. We now feel like this is our 'second home' and are looking forward to our 10th visit next year. Our previous reviews describe the Riad - its position, places to visit, close to Dar el Bacha for taxis etc., - it really is a Hidden Gem and we highly recommend it.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They were always available to assist you and ensure your stay was a magical one. We booked our sunrise Ballon ride via the hotel and had a fantastic time - at a very reasonable price.

This is one of the nicest small hotels we've ever stayed in, friendly staff, great location in the medina with a beautiful courtyard. Easy walking distance to all the main sights.

Grand property and excellent staff. Resturant is very professional and feels luxury and it’s in the perfect location that feels buzzy but still quite chilled. It’s not far from the medina, close to restaurants such as El Fenn, Les Fontaines, MOMO, Dar Dar, Kabana rooftop bar and restaurants.

Das Hotel liegt in den Souks, ist aber trotzdem sehr ruhig. Wir bekamen ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss mit privater Terrasse am Pool. Es war eine grosse Suite mit riesigem Badezimmer. Wir konnten nach einem Stadtbummel direkt auf unserer Terrasse entspannen. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und herzlich. Am dritten Tag wurden wir von einem mit Rosenblättern verzierten Bett überrascht. Das Frühstück und auch das Dinner waren excellent. Wir konnten auch Drinks auf unsere Terrasse bestellen.

Ab Mittag wurde Pool-Musik angestellt. Sie wurde gegen 22 Uhr ausgestellt. Es war ruhige Musik, oft Jazz oder Blues oder Klavier, trotzdem hat es manchmal gestoert. Die Gespräche von den Gästen im Restaurant haben wir nicht gehört.

Parking could be very difficult and confusing.

The stunning architecture and the great service

The lounge and dining area are very dark

The staff, location and site itself were over and above what we anticipated. We stayed in the Royale Suite. Gorgeous and centrally located on the ground floor but still quiet from noise.

We did have some power outages.

Palais Dar Donab is absolutely stunning and we had an amazing time there. It was recommended by friends and did not disappoint in any way. It is also in a great location close to the Medina, near to fabulous restaurants and many of Marrakech’s highlights. An oasis away from the fabulous chaos.

Great Hotel with a more special atmosphere compared to the traditional Riad. Our room suite was fantastic with a large space for sitting and huge bathroom. Staff were very helpful and attentive especially around the dining experience.

Location was perfect. Just on the edge of the Souk and a lovely 5 minute walk to the square. Quiet location but in the middle of everything. Room was fantastic could not have asked for more. Great food and served beautifully on the terrace. Staff all amazing and so helpful. Highly recommended for enjoying time in Marrakesh.

Palais Donab is an exceptional location in the Medina allowing for easy access to everything and very quiet at the same time. It is a very special experience and the staff were amazing.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten die Royal Suite. Sehr sehr dunkel, da im Erdgeschoss. Es kommt kaum Licht ins Zimmer. Als wir ankamen roch es etwas muffelig.

The location is superb just where the medina starts. The staff is very helpful the place is just lovely and you have so much space to yourself it’s like having your own apartment. The food is really good too we had their cous cous and it was the best. Breakfast included which is really good you have a couple of options to choose from and it’s a lot. Would definitely recommend it.

Parking is a problem but it’s not their fault there is one 5 mins away

Maybe the shower could have been more powerful. And the restaurant menu was a bit limited for veggies.

It was a kind of magical moments staying in an ambience and traditional lifestyle of Marakesh. The reception, restaurant and housekeeper received us with kind care and heart of hospitality. It is a hotel one can never forget.

The Andalous room was extremely spacious and clean, though not luxurious. It was a lovely room, with a separate dressing area / spare bed. The bed was comfortable and the shower good. Friendly staff. Nice dining room and bar area.

Breakfast was fine but not great. Hard pillows. Foyer area not very welcoming. Birds flying into the kitchen.

Location location location!

The property has a very distinct smell and it wasn’t a pleasant smell. The room was old in need of refurbishment. The shower wasn’t working at all - only dripping if you need hot shower. This property may look great in summer however for a winter stay and when it is rainy season, I would think twice before checking in.

Beautiful Riad on the outskirts of the medina so easy drop off - no need to walk far with your bags. Very well located with everything on your doorstep and the suite we stayed in was stunning - would highly recommend Palais Dar Donab to anyone visiting Marrakech. Breakfast was also sublime

Palais Donab exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a luxurious and atmospheric escape that perfectly reflects the spirit of Marrakech. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in the city.

While the breakfast was amazing, the one dinner we had there was underwhelming and overpriced.

Unser Aufenthalt im Dar Donab hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Nur 5 Suiten, traumhaft ruhig, aber dennoch zentral. Sehr gutes und umfangreiches Frühstück und das schon ab 7 Uhr, so dass man früh loskommen kann. Wir sind zu allen Sehenwürdigkeiten gelaufen. Auch die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat sogar Liegebetten auf der privaten Terasse, was will man mehr. Von daher super empfehlenswert.

Im Zimmer waren die Möbel teilweise veraltet, hat uns aber nicht gestört. Der Pool ist im Restaurantbereich, das war jetzt nicht so unser Fall und wir haben ihn nicht genutzt.

Après un premier séjour en 2024 , très séduit par le palais Donab . j'ai réservé cette année les deux suites Yasmine et Royale pour séjourner une semaine avec ma femme ainsi qu'une belle sœur et son époux. Le charme du palais, l'amabilité et la prévenance de tous les personnels ainsi que la qualité du restaurant rendent le séjour merveilleux. Nous serions resté volontiers plus longtemps...

Je regrette la perte d'une chemise de qualité par l'entreprise chargée de la laver et la repasser.. bien que je dispose sur mon portable de la facture d'achat, le gérant de la laverie a refusé de me rembourser.me donnant en dédommagement 3 chemisettes de qualité médiocre sans col,, à manches courtes ...ce service est à fuir et j'espère que cette chemise sera retrouvée et me sera renvoyée.

The hotel has only five rooms, and ours was exceptionally spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed... The property itself is lovely, and you’re truly spoiled with the quality and charm of the rooms... We stayed in three different Riads within the Medina, and this one was by far the nicest... Breakfast was generous and filling, providing more than enough energy to take on the souks for the morning...

The pool is located in the middle of the restaurant, which gets quite busy (and understandably so, as the food is very good)... However, it can feel a little uncomfortable using the pool with so many non-hotel guests around... Maybe not a negative although worth mentioning to future guests...

This property is beautiful and the staff were lovely, helpful and efficient.

Unfortunately our room backed on to the hotel’s laundry facility and the staff would talk and laugh late into the night as they did the laundry which was disruptive. We had to ask that they keep quiet 3 days in a row before they seemed to understand that we could hear them and they were keeping us awake.

Great location on the edge of the Medina. Very peaceful respite from the chaos outside. Live music in the restaurant several nights added to the ambience. Beautiful tile work and fountain.

I think the restaurant is overrated. The food is just OK, but the poolside setting is very nice.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Koffer wurden prompt auf die Zimmer gebracht, währenddem uns eine Erfrischung angeboten wurde. Das Zimmer selbst (Koutoubia) liegt zum Innenhof und ist ruhig, sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet. Die Sitzgelegenheit zwar etwas klobig und seeehr weich. Das Bett super bequem und man wurde jeden Morgen durch das einfallende farbige Licht der Fenster begrüsst. Speziell hervorzuheben, die super freundlichen Damen vom Zimmerservice, die einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen. Kleinigkeiten, wie Kleenex im Zimmer, Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Tee sowie jeden Tag eine frische Wasserflasche. Einmal war die Klima defekt und wurde prompt am selben morgen repariert. Das Restaurant ebenso zu empfehlen, das Essen ist sehr lecker.

Das Frühstück wie auch das Abendessen wurde bei uns saisonbedingt im schönen Patio serviert. Stühle und Tische dabei sehr nahe beim Pool und die Tatsache, dass das Dar zum Essen Auswärtigen zur Verfügung steht, war doch etwas befremdlich. Da will man sich nicht im Pool erfrischen und gleich nebenan speisen die Gäste und knipsen Fotos. Eisenstühle leider sehr unbequem. Das Essen grundsätzlich sehr lecker. Leider mangelt es dem Personal aber an Fachwissen und Aufmerksamkeit. Bei unseren Bestellungen hat jeden Tag etwas anderen gefehlt: Mal wurde der Tee vergessen, dann das Couscous, das Wasser etc. Auch beim Wein konnte das Personal nicht wirklich Auskunft geben. Muss aber dazu sagen, dass es ein orientalisches Land ist und hier ein gewisses Verständis angebracht ist. Ich war ohnehin erstaunt, dass es überhaupt Alkohol gibt!

Det lå midt i Medinaen, hvilket til min smag var lidt for kaotisk og overvældende. Man skal ned af en smal smøge for at komme til indgangen af hotellet. Det er lidt skummelt, men når man kommer indenfor murene er der skønt og fredfyldt.

Beautiful traditional riad!

It is a very authentic Riad, with very impressive suites. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food very good and we really enjoyed the breakfast.

The pool is not always accessible as it is also the dining area. Unfortunately we woke up one morning to loud construction work and scaffolding erected right outside our room. We had not been informed this would happen and on returning from sightseeing late in the afternoon we had to insist that it stopped. The reception staff did their best for us but it created a lot of dirt and dust for several days.

The staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The courtyard is beautiful.

There was light construction going on while we were there. It did not effect any use of the facilities.
