Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans ce magnifique riyad. L'équipe de l'établissement est très attentionné et discrète, elle nous a également aidé à organiser différentes activités. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux. La décoration est très soignée avec beaucoup de goût. Le riyad est très bien situé au cœur de la médina tout en étant un véritable havre de paix. Everything is really new and meaningful. Each object feels curated and put in place perfectly. The breakfast is phenomenal with amazing service, ingredients and tea. We really enjoyed our stay and would always come back here.

Der Riad Lion Rouge ist eine Insel der Ruhe, voller subtiler Ästhetik und sinnlicher Wahrnehmung mitten im quirligen und farbenprächtigen Marrakesch. Eine Fundgrube für Kunst- und Architekturliebhaber. Vieles versteht man jedoch erst, wenn man, wie wir, das Glück hatte, mit einem der Eigentümer Gespräche zu führen, die die Philosophie und ausgetüftelte Technik erklären, die sich hier mitten in der Medina Marrakeschs in einem aus den Ruinen auferstandenen wahrlich beeindruckenden Riad diskret verstecken.

Uns hat alles gefallen, insbesondere die ausgesprochene Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals. Das reichhaltige Frühstück in einem der schattigen Innenhöfe, die in einer Mischung aus Orientalik und Moderne ausgestatteten grossen Räume und Veranda unserer Suite, die unzähligen zeitgenössischen und antiken Kunstobjekte, mit denen die Zimmer und öffentlichen Räume ausgestattet sind. Nie überladen, immer mit durchdachtem Konzept. Das raffinierte Spiel der Farben und die absolute Ruhe, nur unterbrochen durch den vielstimmigen Chor der grossen Vogelfamilie, die sich im Riad zuhause fühlt. Ein Zufluchtsort der besonderen Art.

La ubicación dentro de la Medina es muy buena.

Los desayunos todo el mundo dice que en los ryads son espectaculares y en el nuestro han sido escasos y repetitivos. le faltan cortinas para un buen descanso y un poco de más aislamiento, el descanso se hace complicado.

ALLES! Super freundliches Personal, mega Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse, sehr sehr sauber und alles total stylisch. Viele wunderschöne Details, zum Verlieben. Perfekte Lage mitten in der Medina.

Das Zimmer war sehr schön mit bequemen Betten und das Frühstück war auch sehr gut. Sehr nettes Personal.

Wir hatten eine wunderbar grosse Suite mit Balkon, welche sehr viel privatsphäre mit sich bringt. Das Frühstück ist mit viel Liebe zubereitet und sehr traditionell. Die Dachterrasse und das Ambiente ist wundervoll, eine Oase der Ruhe inmitten des hektischen Souk. Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind extrem freundlich, fürsorglich und hilfsbereit.

Das Frühstück wird im Normalfall leider erst ab 10.00 Uhr angeboten. Auf Hinweis kann man dies frühestens ab 8.30 Uhr haben. Das ist je nach Tagesprogramm etwas gar spät, im Normalfall kann man ab ca 7.30 Uhr frühstücken. Das ist keine generelle Kritik, sondern meine subjektive Wahrnehmung, da ich eher früh aufstehe.

Das individuelle und servierte Frühstück auf der Dachterasse war ein Highlight. Alle Restaurant Empfehlungen (wir haben 5 ausprobiert)haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Reservierung über das kompetente und gastfreundliche Personal hat hervorragend geklappt-auch die Aktivitäten. Ausstattung der Zimmer und der Innenhöfe individuell und außergewöhnlich,mitten in der Medina,wunderbar. Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen 🥰

The Lion Rouge is an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. It isn't easy to find but they had kindly arranged an airport transfer which took us straight to the property. Inside it is stunning and the staff are amazing. Each morning we were met with an amazing breakfast and they are really flexible around what time it is served. On our last day they actually started work slightly early to make us breakfast before we left for the airport, we really felt this was above and beyond. The location is perfect as it is in the centre of the Medina so nothing is more than a 15 minute walk away. In summary this is a stunning property run by amazing and welcoming people and is worth every one of its excellent reviews.

Идеальная локация для тех, кто хочет с головой погрузиться в колорит Марракеша. Риад находится в самом центре медины. Для гостей предоставляется трансфер, которым рекомендую воспользоваться, самостоятельно найти локацию проблематично. Номер чистый, удобная кровать, терраса в зелени, пение птиц, как в раю. Современный санузел, без посторонних запахов. Завтрак разнообразный, свежий и вкусный. Накрывается на крыше, с прекрасным видом на окрестности. Вежливый и отзывчивый персонал, готовый всегда прийти на помощь.

В номере нет чайника. Цена на воду в номере достаточно высока. Не продумана зона отдыха на террасе, расположенные в ней шезлонги и диван диссонируют с безупречным стилем и тщательно продуманным дизайном самого риада.

Das Riad befindet sich im Zentrum der quirligen und bunten Medina, direkt neben dem Place d'epices und umgeben von netten Cafes, Bars und Restaurants. Das Gebäude ist top renoviert und voll mit fantastischen marokkanischen Stilelementen. Das Personal ist großartig. Alles hat prima gepasst, inklusive toller Empfehlungen. Unser Highlight war das frisch zubereitete marokkanische Frühstück und ein Sonnenbad auf der Dachterrasse nach einem spannenden Tag in der Medina, den Parks, Museen oder im Atlas-Gebirge.

Ich weiß nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Wir wurden von einem sehr netten Personal warmherzig aufgenommen. Unser Zimmer war sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist eine 10/10 es war vielfältig und hat auch top geschmeckt. Als wir das Personal nach dem Weg zur Moschee fragten (um dort das Gebet zu verrichten) haben sie uns weitergeholfen und anschließend auch ein Gebetsteppich ins Zimmer gebracht. Solch kleine Gestik sind während unseres Aufenthalts öfter aufgetreten. Ich empfehle dieses Riad jedem der die komplette Marrakech Experience erleben will.

Ein fantastisches Riad inmitten der Medina, wundervolle Architektur und Inneneinrichtung mit einer riesigen Dach-Terrasse, auf der jeder einen ruhigen Platz findet. Das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und frisch mit köstlichen Produkten, serviert von den unfassbar freundlichen Mitarbeiterinnen, die dem ganzen Aufenthalt auch noch eine persönliche Note gaben, ohne zu aufdringlich zu sein.

This riad is absolutely the BEST! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their airport service is indispensable, door to door through all the winding alleys in the souk. Their location is steps away from the heart of the Medina but a calm, beautiful oasis inside. And, the price can’t be beat! We can’t wait to return to this little bit of heaven.

El personal es encantador, el desayuno una delicia y la habitación (#2) espectacular. Muy recomendable contratar el transporte entre el aeropuerto y el riyad tanto a la llegada como a la vuelta.

El Riad esta ubicado en el corazón de la Medina, perfectamente restaurado y mantenido , nuestra habitación (2) era en planta baja , grande , cómoda , las sabanas de excelente calidad, dos almohadas ( como debe ser) ,el baño grande con una bella ducha ,las toallas nuevas y con cambios . Fuimos en invierno y la calefacción en el piso fue algo realmente agradable. El desayuno muy completo con cosas típicas hechas en el mismo Riad . Pero toda esta maravilla y belleza de lugar no podría funcionar si no fuera por el servicio y la atención de TODO el staff, Samira y Miriam buscan el modo de complacer cualquier necesidad siempre con una sonrisa. Recomiendo el servicio de traslado desde el aeropuerto.

Muy pocas cosas realmente, pero que vale la pena comentar porque son fácilmente solucionables. En la puerta principal ,la primera cuando se llega a la calle del Riad no tiene luz y resulta realmente dificil ubicar el Riad y abrir la puerta , tuvimos que usar el celular para iluminar la cerradura. El lavamanos de nuestra habitación el muy bello , pero terriblemente incomodo , el agua no baja bien y se termina mojando todo.

The location was perfect, 7 mins walk to Place Jemaa el Fna, breakfast was good especially the NYE breakfast it was extremely rich. The staff is lovely and really accommodating, the aestethic of the riad is really cool and the terrace is just wow. Would definitely come back :)

After 1 pm cars can not enter the medina, so you have to walk with your luggage 15 minutes from Shell gas station (the nearest). Riyad has no own personnel to meet you outside the medina and help with your luggage

Absolutely super accommodation; in the right place, terrific interior, convenient room, and friendly hosts. Everything worked fine and we were pleased to enjoy our stay beyond our initial expectations.

Location is fantastic and ideal for walking to attractions within the Medina, suites are beautifully styled, spacious, and clean, with staff going above and beyond to help with arrangements and special experiences, breakfast is delicious and varied, with options including local specialities.

This is a delightful Riyad. Primarily staffed by the most helpful and friendly women. The breakfast was more continental style which suited us perfectly. They were particularly accommodating for the members of our party who were coeliac. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Having a lounge with a Nespresso machine was a lovely touch. I would definitely stay here again .

Alles! Das Riad ist wunderbar, eine Oase inmitten der Souks. Jeden Morgen hatten wir in unserem Zimmer das Gefühl im Märchen von 1001 Nacht aufzuwachen. Das marrokanische Frühstück, wahlweise im Innenhof der auf der Dachterrasse, war abwechslungsreich und sehr fein. Das Personal war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit, der Besitzer hatte sehr gute Tipps vor Ort. Service mit Abholung vom Flughafen bis zum Riad ( konnte gesondert gebucht werden) war tiptop. Ganz klare Empfehlung!

Nothing it was perfect

Our room was spacious and comfy - fabulous shower! We were on the ground floor overlooking the small pool, it was quiet and private. Perfect for a couple of days and tucked away from the manic heart of Marrakech! The breakfast was amazing both mornings, sat on the rooftop with the views over the rooftops and enjoying the best coffee I had in our entire trip to Morocco.

Tea/coffee making facilities would be a real bonus in the room - we're British and we do like a cup of tea in the morning! When we arrived, we were a little perturbed by the narrow alley the Riyad was down, but this proved to be a bonus as it is away from the noise and bustle of the city centre and felt perfectly safe.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich mit Tee und Gebäck begrüsst. Das eincheckend verlief sehr schnell und reibungslos. Dann gab es einen Rundgang. Wir haben 2 Nächte im Zimmer Nr. 1 verbracht. Tolles Zimmer. Es war pure Erholung. Auf der Terrasse gab es ein super leckeres Frühstück. Die Lage ist perfekt. Vielen lieben Dank dem ganzen Personal. Es war einfach nur ein Traum.

Beautiful and peaceful riad in the center of the Medina, the photos online don’t do it justice! It felt indulgent and almost totally private, even with the fair and reasonable price point. The staff was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond in helping us. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Un havre de paix magnifique au milieu de la médina. Un Riad décoré avec goût, mélangeant le style marocain et moderne avec des pièces et matériaux authentiques : fontaines, tapis, vitraux…. Excellente literie , végétation, piscine. Toit terrasse avec vue sur différents niveaux. Le personnel est serviable, accueillant et extrêmement gentil. Nous avons eu l’accasion de rencontrer le propriétaire Mr Helmut qui nous a renseigné et guidé pour notre premier jour. Merci encore à lui. Organisation de aéroport Jusqu’au Riad au top. Ainsi que pour les excursions. Pt déjeuner 🍱 typique et savoureux. Emplacement idéale à la fois au calme et au cœur de la médina, proche de la place de Jemaa el fna et de la place des épices. Tout est propre, et soigné. J’ai adoré mon séjours. Merci à toute l’équipe.

Die vielen unaufdringlichen Üverraschungen: wir haben nach dem Besuch der quirrligen Medina eine Oase der Ruhe und Entschleunigung durch eine schlichte Außentüre betreten. Dahinter begann das Staunen. Mit Kreativität und Einfühlung wurde dieses Riyad kultursensibel restauriert und auf höchsten Qualitätslevel gebracht. In kurzer Zeit setzt Entspannung ein. Die vielen Rückzugsecken wie beispielsweise das Lesezimmer mit echten LeCorbusierstühlen oder bequeme Stühle unter den Palmen im Hof laden zum Lesen und Verweilen ein. Angenehm ist auch das erfrischende, klare Wasser im Pool. Details wie historische Teppiche, geschmackvolle Schwarz-Weißfotos aus den 1940ern aus dem Fotomuseum in Marrakesch, eine große Stimm Blume im Innenhof, eine rote Mies van der Rohe Coach, historische Tonartefakte und vieles mehr überraschen angenehm. Sehr positiv fabden wir auch, dass wir für Ausflüge unkompliziert den Fahrer buchen konnten, der uns auf Englisch oder Französisch gleichzeitig ein guter Fremdenführer war - ohne uns am Ende der Tour in irgendwelche Teppichgeschäfte zu schleppen, wie es oft mit Samnelanbietern passiert. Dafür bürgt das Riyad, denn sie arbeiten nur mit seriösen Anbietern zusammen, wie sie auf unser Nachfragen erklärten. Wie bereits in anderen Rezensionen mehrfach erwähnt, können auch wir nur vom frisch gekochten und liebevoll angerichtetem Frühstück schwärnen. Das ganze Team im Riyad ist auf Verwöhnen des Gastes eingestellt. Wir haben uns extrem wohl gefühlt und kommrn wieder...mindestens noch 7 Mal, bis wir jedes der individuell eingerichteten Zimmer durchprobiert haben.

Dass wir das Riyad nicht als Ausgangspunkt für unsere Ausflüge verwendet haben und zu kurz geblieben sind.

Es hat bereits mit der komfortablen Abholung am Flughafen begonnen, die nette Begrüßung mit köstlichem Minztee und süßen Köstlichkeiten war auch eine angenehme Überraschung. Und dann das Alhambrazimmer mit vielen architektonischen Details und eigenem Brunnen im Zimmer sorgten trotz trockener, aber erträglicher Hitze im Freien für wunderbare Erholung. Welch ein Luxus, Palmen vor der Zimmertür zu haben und einen geschmackvollen, kühlen Pool zur Erfrischung. Das Badezimmer mit den außergewöhnlichen Waschbecken und spannendem Wandanstrich läßt architekturverliebte Herzen schneller schlagen. Die beste Überraschung kam jedoch am Morgen mit einem abwechslungsreichen, frisch gekochtem Frühstück. Einfach köstlich. Auch die unkomplizierte Organisation von Hamamanwendungen haben wir sehr geschätzt. Kurz gesagt: ein Märchen wurde wahr.

I loved the setup, cleanliness, and decor of the property. Very well thought out by Helmut and Manuela. Samira, who helped us throughout our stay was very friendly and made sure to keep up with our requests. The location of the Riad was also pretty interesting- in the by-lanes of Jemaa el Fnaa.

The choice in the breakfast could be more and include more dishes.

The Riyad Lion is a charming combination of old world Marrakech and clean facilities. The Riyad staff were very courteous and helpful. The food was excellent.

Beautiful place, nice terrace and the rooms were very nicely done with all details taken care of. The staff was AMAZING! There is no other way to describe it! Super helpful with everything and accommodating!

The staff are so lovely and go above and beyond to make your stay perfection. The Riyad itself is absolutely gorgeous, and while it's in the heart of the Medina it is tucked away on a side street and is a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle. It is immaculately thought out, and there are thoughtful special touches throughout, we thought it was even more beautiful than the photos online. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, and the terrace to eat at is gorgeous. We would absolutely come back here, and truly had an amazing stay! Thank you so much for being such wonderful hosts!

Like most Riads in the Medina, It would be hard to find on your own, but the staff met us at a central location and brought us to the location.

What a beautiful place and wonderful staff to welcome us and also take care of everything we needed. The breakfast was to die for! The place is stylish and beautifully decorated. Highly recommended!!

We stayed here in mid-April 2025 to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, and everything was truly wonderful. The location is fantastic, and the service was impeccable. The rooms were beautifully styled and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and different each morning, which was a lovely touch. They even provide complimentary local slippers. The staff was always available to arrange taxis, offer advice, and help personalize our stay—we used their trusted driver for airport pickup and also for our journey to Casablanca, and felt completely safe throughout. The women who run the riyad are incredible, and communication was excellent—especially in French. The highlight was the care and effort they put into creating an unforgettable birthday. Breakfast came with a bouquet from the hotel and a trail of rose petals leading to the terrace, and they surprised us with a homemade chocolate cake. My girlfriend’s family also arranged a special surprise through the riyad, and when we returned from breakfast, they had decorated the bed beautifully with petals. It was romantic, thoughtful, and my girlfriend was over the moon. It truly felt like staying with family—we even shared hugs when we left. We’ll absolutely miss this riyad. Thank you to everyone for making this such a memorable and special experience.

Everything was perfect and the team was great, friendly and helpful. Every time I return to Marraquexe, I will stay here. Good for a couple, but without kids. You will surprise after you cross the door.
