Kadek and Aris were extremely friendly, interesting and helpful with advice and suggestions. The homestay itself is very chill and comfortable, next to the rice paddies, and away from the noisy dirty Ubud center, but an easy Grab away.

We had a truly delightful experience at Pondok Kayu Batu. The entire family was incredibly kind, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. The place itself is a real gem — quiet, comfortable, and full of charm. The pool was wonderfully refreshing after a day of sun and adventure. It was a real pleasure listening to the hostess share local traditions and rituals with us. The kitchen, equipped with a gas stove, was perfect for preparing our favourite dishes, and the fridge was a good size. The room was cleaned regularly, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful little details — the offerings and fresh flowers that welcomed us with such care and affection. Pondok Kayu Batu is a genuine oasis of peace and rest. The location is ideal: far enough from the hustle and bustle of Ubud to feel peaceful, yet close to rice fields, lovely cafés, and many interesting spots around Ubud. We would return without hesitation. A big hug to the dear family — you made us feel completely at home.

This is a perfect oasis within walking distance of UBud centre but so quiet and peaceful. The pictures don’t do this stunning property justice. The beds are very comfortable. Every detail taken care of. The kitchen is very clean and Kadek made sure there is plenty of safe ice. The pool is crystal clear and a perfect temperature. Kadek takes meticulous care of this property.

Couple nice restaurants/cafes nearby and not far from a busy shopping and restaurant street. Staff are very helpful with recommendations, transport and laundry. Would highly reccomend.

Pondok Kayu Batu was one of the highlights of our stay in Bali. From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome and looked after. The accommodation is beautiful, peaceful and spotlessly clean – a true little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, while still being conveniently located to explore everything. What really makes this place special, though, is Kadek. She is such a genuinely warm, kind and caring host. She was always available, incredibly helpful and made us feel much more like guests in her home than customers in a hotel. You can truly feel how much she cares about her guests and about making their stay special. Her warmth and hospitality made our time at Pondok Kayu Batu even more memorable. We would also like to give a very special recommendation to Nyoman, who was our driver during our stay. He was absolutely wonderful – reliable, friendly, incredibly helpful and always made us feel safe and comfortable. He was also very flexible and made getting around Ubud and exploring the surrounding area so easy. We can recommend Nyoman without reservation and would definitely choose him again. The room was spacious and comfortable, the pool was lovely, and the peaceful atmosphere was exactly what we needed after busy days exploring Bali. It really feels like a hidden gem. A hidden gem in Ubud! This is a small, family-managed structure that is incredibly cute and perfectly quiet—a much-needed relief from the heavy traffic of the main streets. The owner, Kadek, and her son, Aris, are incredibly helpful and show so much genuine care for their guests. If you want a peaceful, welcoming stay in Ubud, this is the place.

Pondok Kayu Batu was the best accommodation we had on our Bali trip. It's located in a calm and quiet little street. Kadek, (the host) was super helpful and kind, she was always there when we had a question and she kept everything very clean.

Petite, cute, comfortable stay. The hotel owner was super friendly and welcoming, she even allowed us for late check-out when she has no booking for the same room next day. Location was perfect, next to paddy field, tucked away from the traffic but still walking distance to warungs, cafes, massage place. Just be reminded cars/bike are not able to stop directly in front the accomodation, you have to walk 50m on a petite footpath. But it was all good and safe. We love it even. Will highly recommend for 2-pax travelers.

Our stay was absolutely amazing! Everything exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful, spotless, and incredibly well maintained. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome thanks to the warm and friendly staff. A very special thank you to our driver, Ebi, who made our trip even more memorable. C'était exceptionnel. Le logement est bien placé, nous avons facilement fait tous les déplacements avec Grab. La chambre est nettoyée tous les jours. Il y a des restaurants, des salons de massage à proximité. Le Sud d'Ubud est à mon sens le meilleur endroit pour un séjour. La piscine est absolument charmante. C'est encore plus charmant en vrai qu'en photo.

this is such a beautiful property! spacious rooms, good water pressure and heater, gorgeous pool, communal kitchen, and big porch. it’s walking distance from yoga barn and just a short grab ride from the main road, but much quieter. definitely recommend!

Die Besitzerin ist so liebenswert und hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich sofort wohl und angekommen gefühlt und wusste,dass ich jederzeit eine Ansprechperson habe. Sie hat mir sogar ihren Charger ausgeliehen,weil meiner nicht mehr funktionierte.

Die Lage ist sehr schön mit den Reisfeldern vor der Tür. Nur ist es eher weit zu Fuss zum Yogabarn bzw man muss der sehr befahrenen Strasse entlang laufen. Es ist aber einerseits besser und üblich ein Grab zu bestellen.

Beautiful little cottage and pool area. Staff (Kadek) always contactable via WhatsApp and on site a lot of the time. Very welcoming and friendly. Helped arrange a day trip and her son Aris was our guide and he was so informative and very friendly. If we ever come back to ubud we'll definitely book to come back here.

I loved everything about this cozy little hidden gem! Kadek, who owns and run the place, is the most sweetest and helpful person. I appreciated the quietness and that there is only three houses/rooms. I loved sitting at my porch, taking a swim in the pool, and enjoy my time in the nice and big room with a good bed.

Ein wunderschönes, kleines und herrlich ruhiges Paradies, umgeben von traumhaften Reisterrassen. Das Zentrum von Ubud ist je nach Verkehr in etwa 10–15 Minuten mit dem Roller erreichbar – perfekt für alle, die etwas abseits vom Trubel wohnen möchten. Einige Restaurants und kleine Shops sind fußläufig erreichbar, sodass alles Wichtige in der Nähe ist. Die Unterkunft selbst ist makellos sauber, hervorragend gepflegt und im typischen Bali-Stil gestaltet, in den man sich sofort verliebt. Kadek hat mich unglaublich herzlich empfangen, war jederzeit hilfsbereit, offen für Fragen und hat mit viel Liebe zum Detail alles in Schuss gehalten. Zur Ausstattung gehören Seife, Klimaanlage, Föhn sowie ausreichend Ablageflächen. Das Bett ist ein absoluter Traum und garantiert erholsamen Schlaf. Der idyllische Pool lädt jederzeit zu einer erfrischenden Abkühlung ein. Auch die gemeinschaftliche Außenküche ist super sauber und bietet Koch- sowie Kühlmöglichkeiten. Fazit: Eine der besten Unterkünfte in Ubud zu einem unschlagbaren Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ich komme wieder – versprochen!

在這待了三個晚上，特別喜歡這裡的地點，騎機車的話五到十分鐘內能到街道及市區，離Yoga Barn也很近，非常推推，雖然沒有附早餐但步行距離內就有兩家餐廳可以用餐，而且重點是非常安靜，該有的設施都有，每天房間都會重新整理，房東一家也都回應即時，也很熱情，若需要租機車或訂活動都能詢問房東。 房間冷氣夠涼，熱水夠熱，床也好睡，有飲水機。 我們因為退房當天清晨要去火山，所以有跟房東說要放置行李，跟晚點退房，房東也很ok. 基本上有什麼需求都可以討論。

雖然安靜，但房間隔音不是太好，但我們是無所謂，就盡量壓低聲量也不希望吵到別人。 因為房間比較靠近，如果窗簾稍微沒關好可能外面較容易看得進來。但窗簾有兩層，有全都拉上就還好 洗澡地方如果能乾濕分離會更棒 全身鏡區有點暗，可以加一點燈光會更好。

Als wir ankamen hat uns die Besitzerin schon herzlich empfangen und mit unseren Koffern geholfen. Es wurde täglich aufgeräumt, Bettwäsche gewechselt etc. Eine kleine Küche mit Kühlschrank und Trinkwasser steht ebenfalls jedem Gast zur Verfügung. An unserem Abreisetag haben wir den angebotenen Flughafentransfer in Anspruch genommen und alles lief reibungslos :) Alles in allem hatten wir einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in Ubud und diesem Hotel.

Kadek führt eine wundervolle, ruhige und sehr gepflegte Anlage. Ein Idyll im doch manchmal hektischen Ubud. Sehr gut zu erreichen sind alle gewünschten Annehmlichkeiten und in Laufnähe befinden sich Cafes, Restaurants und Spas für Massage. Ich durfte sogar sehr früh einchecken was mir sehr geholfen hat. Der Pool ist sehr schön gestaltet und bekommt auch Sonne ab. Die Besitzerin ist sehr liebevoll, es gibt einen Wäscheservice, den sie organisiert, hier ist einfach alles was macht braucht, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Es gibt nur 3 Villas, was eine schöne, intime Atmosphäre verschafft. Ich habe sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt.

Exceptional value, staff (Kadek) ensured everything was perfect and the rooms square meters were optimal - felt like you had a lot of space even for two persons. Super clean and location was quiet yet close to all Ubud activities.

The cottages' walls are very thin, if you get your room from the row of three you might get unlucky with other guests. The shared kitchen pots and pans are old and used; no matter how hard you try not to burn the pan with your eggs, you will. Kadek helped us to wash the dishes - bless her! The young cat is lovely but also can be a pain in the ass. We slowly educated her by pouring water on her face when she kept begging for food and jumping on the table.

Alles war super sauber, der Pool super schön & die Lage echt gut. Die Gastgeberin super zuvorkommend & aufmerksam, man hat sich wikrich wie zuhause gefühlt.

The property’s host was incredibly sweet and very accommodating to our travel needs. The pool was a treat after long, hot travel days. Also, the location of the cabins is so peaceful compared to the bustling main streets of Ubud. Situated next to terraced rice gardens, we loved the view out of the main entryway.

De locatie was geweldig. Lekker rustig maar wel dichtbij drukke straat. Host was erg vriendelijk. De Cottage was super schattig en schoon. De tuin met zwembad en keuken was echt geweldig mooi. Zeker een aanrader als je in Ubud wilt verblijven.

A very nice apartment in a very good location 5 minutes walk from a main road. The place is very quiet and located in a street where mostly families leave. The room is exactly as shown in the photos and it gives a very nice vibe. There is daily room service and it is SUPER clean. The area is very safe and it has some good cafe for breakfast nearby to start you day. NOTE: Taxi cannot reach Infront of the house but 20 meters before since you have to walk a narrow street. For us it wasn't an issue but I am mentioning it for others. We had perfect communication and the hosts were super helpful! If we visit Ubud again it would be our first choice!

This is a small place of 3 cottages sharing a wading pool, with rice fields and peace and quiet away from the mayhem of Ubud town. It is about a 30 minute walk to the central tourist area, but with a couple of restaurants and a coffee shop near by, it is worth the stay in this location. Kadek is the hands-on owner, and is kind and attentive to your needs. The cottages are well maintained every day by her, and the property is clean and safe. We could not have asked for more in our first visit to Bali.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave our little feline kitten friend there. It's not the owners cat, but everyone who stays there seems to take care of her.

TOUT ! Séjour absolument parfait et je reviendrai sans aucune hésitation ! J’ai été accueilli avec une gentillesse incroyable, on se sent tout de suite comme à la maison. La chambre est belle, c’est propre et le ménage est fait régulièrement. La localisation est parfaite car très calme en étant à Peliatan juste à la sortie d’Ubud (le centre est à 10min en scooter). Si vous cherchez un lieu standardisé au milieu de la foule touristique d’Ubud ce n’est pas ici, mais pour l’authenticité la gentillesse le calme et le confort oui ! Il n’y a pas de service de petit déjeuner mais ce n’est pas gênant car il a de bonnes adresses juste à côté avec une vue sur les rizières. Une adresse qu’on aimerait garder secrète pour soi.

Es war einfach nur perfekt! Wunderschöne ruhige Lage direkt an einem Reisfeld. Mit dem Moped ist man schnell in der City. Cafés und Supermarkt sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Die Cottages sind super gemütlich, sehr sauber und man spürt die Liebe der Gastgeberin darin. Das Bett ist ein Traum. Der Pool mit der Elefantenstatue ist einmalig. Es sieht genau so schön aus wie auf den Bildern.

It was lovely and well kept. Room were quite spacious and so clean and smell fresh. Host Kadek is amazing, she goes above and beyond and also arranged on call massage services which was so lovely and ladies were great, they did traditional Balinese massage at a very good price and massage was so relaxing.

Eine tolle Unterkunft - für uns war sie wie eine kleine Oase im trubeligen Ubud. Wir haben diesen Rückzugsort mit Kleinkind sehr genossen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, auch der Pool und die Küche (welche sehr gut ausgestattet war). Der Service war ebenfalls sehr gut, täglich wurde das Zimmer gereinigt und bei allen Fragen wurde stets Hilfe angeboten. Fußläufig konnte man in 30 Minuten an den zentralen Straßen sein und wenige Fußminuten sind einige Cafes und Restaurants entfernt um Essen zu gehen. Wir können diesen Ort nur empfehlen!

L'emplacement est idéal puisque l'établissement se situe dans une ruelle calme, à quelques minutes à pied du centre. Notre hébergement était très propre et joliment décoré, ainsi que le jardin qui est fleuri avec beaucoup de soin. La literie est confortable et notre chambre comportait tous les équipements nécessaires (rangement, serviettes, produits de douche..) Kadek est très attentionnée, elle a fait en sorte que notre séjour se passe bien et nous a aidé à de nombreuses reprises (recherche de taxi, réponse à nos questions..). La stanza era davvero grande spaziosa e super pulita, curata nei minimi dettagli. La proprietaria è una persona davvero gentile e disponibile, sempre presente. Si occupa personalmente della pulizia della struttura con molta cura. Ci ha organizzato un’escursione, portato e ritirato i nostri indumenti da una lavanderia della zona e organizzato il transfer per l’ultimo giorno! Siamo stati davvero bene e molto soddisfatti, complimenti! Se torniamo ad Ubud faremo nuovamente tappa qui 😁

Fuori dal traffico di Ubud, ma vicina a tutto. Pulita, ben tenuta e con uno staff incredibile: Kadek e suo figlio Aris sono persone incredibilmente gentili e sempre disponibili ad aiutarti. Soggiorno impeccabile!

Walls are like paper. You can hear absolutely anything of the next apartment (if everyone is respectful there shouldn't be any problems) The entrance area to the apartment is quite dirty. I know it's a bit out of control to the owner, but it doesn't give a super good impression.

La struttura è molto pulita, piccola, accogliente. Si trova vicino ai campi di riso in una zona silenziosa e tranquilla, lontano dal caos della città, ma allo stesso tempo in una posizione strategica. Il centro è raggiungibile coi mezzi in pochi minuti, mezz’ora circa a piedi se avete voglia di camminare! La zona è ben servita: centro di massaggi, warung vicino con buona cucina tradizionale, servizi per affittare scooter, per organizzare gite…è tutto comodo. I gestori sono persone gentilissime e vi possono aiutare per qualunque cosa: transfert, visite, lavanderia etc

Fabulous stay in Pondok Kayu Batu! Very clean, very nice people and a lovely pool. Just outside the busy centre of Ubud. Its a 20 minute walk or just take a cheap Grab. (Which also takes 20 minutes because of the traffic in Ubud) No breakfast buy small outside kitchen available and 2 or 3 restaurant on the corner to enjoy breakfast.

There's no breakfast but you know that when booking.

Pondu Kayu Batu is so beautiful. Once you walk through the gate it’s a tropical oasis where you feel instantly at home. The gardens are stunning, the villas are spacious and comfortable. If you feel like cooking, there’s a kitchen with everything you could want. Kadek is so lovely, and makes sure you have everything you need every day. It’s away from the super busy part of Ubud, but close enough to be really convenient. There are two restaurants within three minutes walk so you don’t need to go far.

I loved this place. I extended my stay here and if I could extend it more I would have done it. The environment is very relaxing and the hosts are very kind and flexible. I can't recommend this place more. On top of that the pool is beautiful and the bed comfortable.

This place is honestly great! I’m so glad I stayed here for a full week. It was a relaxing haven away from the hustle bustle of Ubud while being close enough to make visiting town nice and easy. Kadek looked after me and the place so well. She really cares and takes pride in making the guests feel comfortable and welcome. The facilities are excellent with drinking water and a lockable drawer in my room. I will certainly stay here again next time I visit Ubud.

Once the road gets repaired that will be better. At the moment there are some puddles to navigate on the way to the property but it wasn't a problem.

It was a bit difficult to find the first time. Make sure to reach out to Kadek on booking to time it with WhatsApp and she’ll meet you outside.

The property was close enough to Ubud centre and easily accessible with local taxi bikes. The room was always well cleaned and staff were attentive. This accommodation consists of three small huts with a communal pool.

The two adjoining huts were not fully soundproof, but this is not any different from similar wooden based accommodation I have stayed in before in Indonesia.

Central yet with nature and rice fields close by. Very cozy and clean with everything needed for a great stay over. The hosts were fantastic and were helpful with everything. They even found me a guide and driver last minute for a trip to the temple and Uluwatu. Thank you so much!

I LOVED THE CONFORTABLE ROOM! THE HOST IS AMAZIN WOMAN THAT HELP US IN EVERyTHING ALL THE TIME. THE SWIMMING POOL IS SO BEAUTFUL WITH LOVELY GARDEM. THE ARQUITETURE IS CLASSIC IN BALI. WE WILL CAME BACK!

This homestay had only three rooms, and a shared "open to outdoors" kitchen and lovely pool to be shared by all. It is just a few blocks away from one of the busiest intersections in Ubud, but it is past a rice paddy and feels like it is far away in the country. The owner was very personable and helpful. I stayed here very briefly in between some other hotel stays, just to be able to experience a different type of place: a homestay. It provided me with some "me"- time, peace and quiet amidst the chaotic Ubud scene as well as a bit of more private time away from other hotel's well meaning sometimes over-attentive staff. There is a sculpture of a life-size elephant waling through the wall towards the pool, which was a very exotic and Fun quirky touch.

I didn't want to walk to and from the place at night on my own until I could have figured things out a bit better. My time was super limited so that was really my main reason., as it is slightly off the beaten track.

Very cosy! During the day and night. Nice clean comfy bed and pillows. Nice bathroom, eveything looked super good🤗 the host kadak is suuuuuper nice and sweet!!! I forgot my camera accu and charger in the room and she even sended it to Lombok for me. 10/10 appriciation!!! Definitely worth going if you wanna explore Ubud!! Also the surroundings are calm and piecefull while its still pretty much in the centre!

I actually liked everything! The only small thing would be that the houses are pretty close next to eachother and around the - not so deep - swimming pool. But hey, whatever !! (:

A beautiful place with wonderful hosts. Kedek and Aris are so helpful. The place is spotless, there is a lovely pool cleaned every day and a kitchen so you can make your own food. Access to ubud is easy.

We had a lovely stay at Pondok Kayo Batu. Kadek and her family were really kind and helpful. The location is great, right on the edge of Ubud so close to everything but not too busy. The rooms are very nice and clean, comfortable and have character. We will stay here again and recommend to friends

We booked 2 rooms for our family and it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Kadek and her son Ares are the sweetest and the kindest hosts. We ordered vegetarian breakfast and loved her cooking. They were very responsive and helpful. Rooms were very clean and quite spacious to keep big suitcases and make ourselves at home. The common kitchen was a great addition and a nice hangout for our family. We rented motorbikes very close to the home and used it to get around to goa Gajah and other Ubud attractions

The host is amazing. My mom does not speak English and she took great care of my mom.

My mom saw lizard in the bathroom. That’s probably the only thing not satisfactory.

Cozy and clean.

During our stay, we felt completely at home. It’s an incredible place to enjoy the pool and the beautifully maintained garden. Kadek, the host, is incredibly friendly and even helped us rent a motorcycle on-site. The room is lovely and impeccably clean. Without a doubt, this is a place I would highly recommend and one we will definitely return to.

A very comfortable and unique guesthouse in a generally quiet and central location. The pool provided a cool refresh. Kadek was a most welcoming and helpful host. A very pleasant stay.

The place is amazing, even better that the photos and the hosts are so kind and helpful. We had the breakfast prepared for us once as well and it was very good. The villa is in the rice fields so away from the traffic and the noises.

Court with three indipendent big bedrooms with private bathroom and porch. Shared kitchen and swimmingpool. Everything was very clean and well kept. The court with the swimmingpool, full of plants and flowers, was really enjoyable. The lady owner was very kind and ready to help. Her son is available to drive you around and is a very nice guy.

We loved this place, great rooms and outside space with pool. It’s tucked away from the busy streets of Ubud but still close to the main area. There is a well equipped kitchen and always ice in the freezer. But the best part of staying here is Kadek who is running the place. She is super helpful and kind. We mentioned to her that we would like to get some Balinese cake. So the next morning she and her daughter took us to a local market so we could try different treats and fruits and get cheap coconuts. If I go back I would definitely stay here again.
