Great proximity to the lake and to town. Decent kitchen setup, and bbq. Beds were comfortable, except for the heat in the room.

The cabin is small and was extremely hot! Had to sleep with the door and windows open along with a small fan supplied. Toilet and shower arrangement is a bit inconvenient but they were decent nonetheless. Overpriced for what you get.

The location is beautiful!

They don’t provide towels, or at least I wasn’t aware if they did. There was also no prior instructions or communication as to where to arrive since the reception is at a separate location. They have signs everywhere about trespassers that makes it feel intimidating and not welcoming.

The location was fabulous, in front of beautiful Lake Tekapo. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was well equiped.

We stayed at the backpackers lodge and the room was extremely crumpted with a small window. Smallest than a camp cabin. There were too many people staying at the lodge and they were loud all throughout the night and left the kitchen a mess to use in the morning. The price we paid was very high for the services we received.

I like the location.

Facilities were provided like milk or coffee or tea packs. Moreover, the shower gel was not coming out of the container and I have to open it to make it work.

방에서 사람이 움직이면 삐그덕 소리가 나서 거슬리는거 제외 괜찮았음 그러나 밤마다 사람들이 별보러 나간다는 점을 인지해야함 ㅋㅋ 3박 하려던거 2박으로 수정하고 도망침 ㅋㅋ 밤마다..사람들이 뽀시락뽀시락..

Loved the close access to like tekapo and the trails nearby. It was a simple room but it was all we needed. The kitchen was easy to access and pretty clean. There was not any shared seasoning/oil at the time of my visit.

There was 2 bathrooms for guests staying in the double/single rooms outside of the hostel. However, often times folks from the hostel were using these bathrooms (instead of the ones in the main lodge which was closer to where they were staying). This led to a back up at times

Very good location about 10 mins walk to intercity bus station and 5 mins to the start of the walkway up to Mt John. The lake is just in front of you. Some privacy guaranteed with the curtains. Staff are very friendly. The free pickup up/drop off are randomly arranged and really appreciated.

Nothing really. Though It took a while to find the key and bedsheet drop off room upon check out, but could just be my problem reading the map ahhh.

호수 끝에 숙소가 있어서 오히려 테카포 호수를 더 많이 볼 수 있어서 좋았다!

호스텔이지만 깨끗했고 호수 바로 앞이라 너무 좋았어요.

We arrived 10:30 pm. Reception was closed. Our calls before arrival were helpful. We collected our keys from after hours Box. However the site map was confusing and not helpful

Une auberge avec une localisation incroyable car elle fait face au lac Tekapo. Elle est à proximité des balades et des bains chauds. La cuisine et salles de bain communes sont bien équipées et propres. Les lits sont confortables. Très bonne adresse pour visiter les alentours.

Les portes qui claquent pour se fermer, très bruyant la nuit!

The bathroom is so cold. Water is cold and there is partially cold air blowing at you while you are bathing, OMG.. I am so cold and while chatting with the others… they also complained the same thing.

何よりもロケーションが最高で、ロッジのすぐ前が美しいテカポ湖でいつまでも眺めていられます。共同バスやトイレがとても清潔に掃除されていて、居心地がよかったです。キッチンもとてもきれいでつかいやすかっまです。

キッチンのコンロの火力が弱くなかなか火が通らないこと。４人のドミトリーに泊まりましたが、隣のベッドとの距離がとても近く、知らない人と泊まるのは少し気を遣いました。

The staff is excellent and helpful, especially the staff who drives the shuttle bus. He introduced local restaurants and other useful information to us. Everytime he appears like a magic, always the time we need help. I feel so grateful to the staff!

Nice setting, clean and shared bathrooms good. Cabin was cute and was a generally fine stay until we checked out and they told us they wouldn’t store bags.

Stay was totally overshadowed by their ridiculous luggage storage policy. Our intercity bus to Christchurch was at 3:45pm and we had intended to spend the day exploring Tekapo as had arrived late night before. However, on check out the person at front desk says they will only store bags until midday. We have been travelling for 6 months and never experienced this. As backpackers with large rucksacks and other luggage this meant it was impossible for us to do anything with our time in Tekapo except sit with bags somewhere as there is no luggage storage in town. All the communal areas are accessible only by a key (with threatening messages up everywhere if you come in outside of check-in time) so you can’t even use the kitchen or store food after 10am (again never experienced this, it is normal to make use of shared facilities for a few hours after checkout at backpackers places). We ended up having to abandon the day and book an earlier bus out of Tekapo so didn’t get to do the things we came to Tekapo to do because of this place. All I can observe is that they earn so much from their affiliation with Kiwi Experience (they even have Kiwi Experience artwork on the walls) that they don’t care about their reputation or their other guests (even when they’re paying $300 a night for shared facilities!). Unless you’re leaving first thing in the morning, save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. WiFi also didn’t work and laundry facilities limited so you have to queue.

Convenient location next to the edge of the lake, rooms were comfortable.

Lacked the sociable feel of some other hostels around New Zealand but good for a short stay.

Rooms for bunk beds were very small and no AC.

Beautiful building just across the lake, with a nice outdoor space, everything you need for cooking etc.

It gets stuffy quite quickly, that was the main issue for me.

Only booked because it was last minute trip and this one one of the few places still available during peak season. But this is one of the worst stays ever! The bathrooms are not clean, the beds are uncomfortable with mattresses a bit thicker than a notebook and beds that squeak even when you take deeper breaths. On top the staff is super rude and not accommodating at all. To top it all, they refused to hold my luggage for 2 hrs after checking out.

I arrived and couldn't find the reception desk for 20 minutes. The signage wasn't clear where it was. I was tired and it made me angry.

Bathrooms and kitchen, unclean. 4 bedroom dorm. Small room, bunk unstable. Value for money unsatisfactory.

我們住的是Queen bed及 bunk bed 房間，有足夠空間可提供簡單置物架及1-2椅子，則更理想！

Clean bed sheets, all good in the kitchen, well-organised, close to the lake and walk to Mt John Summit. Also it's well paved to walk from the lodge, the DSD, supermarket, and cafe. It's about 1.4km.

The room was extremely small, no hooks for hanging clothes, no personal storage, no personal phone charger in the room, no providing towels.

Geat location, lots of outdoor room to sit, well equiped kitchen, lots of usb-charching near the comfy couches. Wi-Fi good and even worked when you crossed the road and sat at the beach Free shuttle to the intercity-busstop

It was a bit tricky to get down from the topbunkbed, no nightlight and a small ladder.

Simple but clean. Very good equiped kitchen. They have everything you need for a nice stay.

The location is very good, only minutes walk to the lake.

The room doesn't have a table. The map staff given about the room location is a bit confusing. The garbage bin in bathroom is always full at night, and lots of chaos happening in kitchen in the morning. The bed sheet is a bit dirty, found some dirty spot when removing the sheets for check-out, they were hiding at the end of bed.

The rooms were nice and the common rooms too.

There were only curtains in the bottom bunks and they are very see-through. Why not have proper curtains when you first have innstalled it.
