We would like to point out that the owner is very kind and accommodating. Really nice breakfast with fresh juice and fruits. He really is trying his best to satisfy needs of a customer. Really good price for what you get.

This was the best accommodation during our whole trip to Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect - from the wonderful breakfast to the spotless rooms and the stunning views from the terrace. And above all we received great support for organizing tours and transport in and around Anuradhapura. The boat tour with bird watching was a highlight! It is easy to get to town even if you do not have your own car (tuktuk ride can be easily arranged with PickMe App), so this is the best choice for Anuradhapura.

Super friendly staff, nice room with AC and clean facilities. We had access to the dining area on the last floor for a nice view, with some equipment available (kettle, utensils, etc.). Good value for money.

You'll need a car/tuk tuk to get around. There are also some dogs that roam around the area (they can be a bit aggressive), but the locals helped us chase them away (including the host).

Had a very good experience. The room was clean,, comfortable and the price was reasonable. Definitely I will use them again.

Very nice place. Close to all the pilgrimage sites. Nice owners. Very helpful and kind. Easy to get Pick me transport. Very good and tasty home cooked food. Very clean with hot water and AC. Very nice view on the roof top. It was very beautiful scenery at night on full moon poya day. Everything was perfect. If I travel to Anuradhapura again definitely will stay there.

Établissement bien situé à côté des sites culturels, parmis les habitations, calme. Très propre et bien tenu. Climatisation efficace. Petit déjeuner délicieux.

Nous sommes arrivés tard, pas de bouteille d’eau dans la chambre et pas de possibilité de joindre quelqu’un.

la gentillesse et le dévouement des hôtes qui font tout pour que vous soyez bien. les repas sont aussi excellents. la chambre pour 4 était très propre et confortable. et évidemment le magnifique rooftop!

Uns hat das Lake Edge Resort sehr gefallen. Es ist ein ruhiges, kleines und gepflegtes Hotel. Der Eigentümer war äußerst freundlich und bemüht und hat für uns alles auch spontan möglich gemacht ( Wilpattu Nationalpark, Tuk Tuk Tour durch die Stadt). Er spricht sehr gut Englisch. Das Essen war sehr geschmackvoll. Ebenso war die Unterkunft sehr sauber und auch das Internet und die Klimaanlage haben gut funktioniert.

Lake Edge is an amazing family-owned property that truly enhanced our experience. The family was incredibly attentive and accommodating to all of our needs throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and authentically Sri Lankan. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you for the outstanding hospitality! Plus, the property offers some stunning rooftop views.

Das Resort liegt ein bisschen ausserhalb von Anuradhapura, was aber überhaupt nicht schlimm ist - die neue Stadt an sich hat uns eh nicht so zugesagt und wir konnten dort sehr gut entspannen! Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, alle Leute vor Ort unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit und der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse war wunderschön.

Prachtig uitzicht op een van de vele tempels/ Supra’s. Heerlijk ontbijt en erg vriendelijke meneer die ons met alles hielp en altijd klaar stond. We hebben hier een keer ontbeten en een keer avond gegeten en het viel absoluut niet tegen

Very peaceful, stunning views of the stupas, lots of plants, delicious food. Sesanka and his wife obviously love their place and nothing is too much trouble.

The room, the location and the scale of operation.

There was no drinking water inside the room. It is a standard practice to provide a bottle of drinking water and glasses. Also good if the breakfast could be made available within the premises.

The view was nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. It is a homestay more than a hotel, the host lives next door, so if you need anything, can easily ask them, the cheap price only covers the facility, so anything else you need, you need to purchase this service, you can book breakfast or dinner from the host at $5 a meal, food is great!

The location is a bit far from anything, but because of that it has a great view and quiet neighborhood. So pick your poison.

Todo fue genial. La habitación era amplia, con cama enorme y baño grande, todo impecable, y el chico que nos atendió fue muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar. Nos sentimos muy cómodos y disfrutamos muchísimo la estancia.

Hosts incredibly friendly and kind. We were very impressed by the room - lovely and clean, great bed, great bathroom. Breakfast delicious if you’d like, and can eat with beautiful view. Easy to get a tuktuk to the town centre for restaurants and sightseeing etc. Thank you!

Nice rooftop with lake wind and mind relaxing stay. Room was well comfortable, clean and well smelled. AC hot water works well. They have milk food preparation kitchen at 2nd floor which is good for pilgrims. Rooftop has an outstanding view. Host is really kind attentive and nice guy.

Ants were attracted into sweets during overnight.

The place to be💜 le cadre est magnifique, les hôtes adorables. Tout est fait avec amour et ça se sent. Le petit déjeuner Sri Lankais est excellent et les repas parfaits. L'endroit est magnifique, calme, on s'y sent vraiment bien. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Un grand merci pour l'accueil 🥰

Fuimos un grupo de 8 chicas y nos trataron muy bien. Las instalaciones muy buenas con baños limpios, habitaciones grandes y camas cómodas. El servicio fue maravilloso. Solicitamos desayuno y no defraudó, todo riquísimo y con vistas espectaculares.

Lo unico que no nos gustó fue que el hotel no tenía nada alrededor, no había restaurantes ni nada donde tomar algo.

We received a very warm welcome. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. Bathroom was new and had a hot water heater. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel which were the best meals we'd eaten in Sri Lanka. The view from the roof terrace over the lake and stuppa was wonderful. We ate on this terrace which was a real treat.

Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf bij Lake Edge Resort. Met ons gezin hadden we 2 kamers geboekt; allebei ruim, heel schoon met mooie badkamer. Er is een heerlijk terras en een rooftop. Je hebt een prachtig uitzicht op het meer en de stupa’s in Anuradhapura. De eigenaren zijn echt super lieve mensen. Dat maakt het verblijf voor ons onvergetelijk. De uitstapjes met gids naar de stupa’s in de oude stad en de safari in Wilpattu heeft de eigenaar voor ons geregeld; allebei aanraders! Van het ontbijt en diner hebben we ook genoten; alles wordt met veel aandacht klaargemaakt.

Sasanga and his wife were wonderful hosts. They are very helpful and friendly. Sasanga is always with a smile and that itself would make anyone’s day beautiful. The place was very clean with a modern bathroom and located in a convenient location. Several plants were nicely placed to give a more naturalistic touch. Our rooms were in the 3rd floor and it had a designated dining area at same level with beautiful lake view. Therefore, we don’t really have to go down for our meals. They provide delicious home cooked meals at reasonable price, all brought to your level and arranged at the dining area nicely. We always ordered breakfast and dinner here so that we can refresh ourself before having meals rather than eating outside with sweaty cloths (Anuradhapura is very hot region). Laundry service is also provided at the accommodation at small extra cost which is very convenient and much needed for warm place like this. We can go to the top level and enjoy sunrise if we wake up early. Sasanga also helped us to arrange a place for our driver. We totally enjoyed our stay at this place. Thanks to Sasanga and his wife :)

Het was een geweldig verblijf. Wat ons het meest is bijgebleven zijn de ontzettend lieve eigenaren die alles voor je doen om het je zo goed mogelijk naar je zin te maken. Een fijne kamer en het hotel is goed gelegen. Op het dakterras heb je een mooi uitzicht op de stoepa’s. Wij bevelen dit verblijf zeker aan!

Very clean and tidy place. The best shower we had after four days of travelling. Sasanka & his wife were very helpful advising us of the good restaurants around & places to visit. The view from the top of the property was awesome & Sasanka showed us the best place to watch the sunrise. The rooms and the top balcony is filled with live plans which made this place so special :)

An excellent place with a lovely rooftop. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. This was our second stay, and we’ll definitely be back again!

The hotel is located on the southern side of Anuradhapura town a bit out of the centre but with spectacular views of the Tisa Wewa lake. The building and the room are immaculate and very clean. The owner is very friendly and super helpful. And although there is not a restaurant as such the owner’s wife will prepare a delicious breakfast or dinner if you ask. I really couldn’t believe my luck finding this place!

This is my second time staying at lake Edge Resort. The facilities have been improved since my previous visit. Hot water facilities are provided in all the rooms. The bathrooms and rooms are still very clean. Thank you for maintaining them.

Such a lovely family and the hotel was just right for what I needed. Very clean and comfortable. The food - dinner and breakfast were freshly prepared and eaten with a stunning view over the lake. Would definitely recommend.

Over all is good

Location was easily accessible and close by to all the main attractions. The rooms were clean, and place was tidy. Has a great view from the roof top of the hotel of the surrounding area as well as the amazing Tissa lake.

No meal options and had to go out to buy food every time, and there were no nearby places to buy food too. No TV or other facilities such as tea making in the room.

The homestay is in a great location, you have a beautiful view of the lake and can see the stupas in the background. By tuk-tuk it is 10 minutes to the ancient city and about 45 minutes to Wilpattu NP. The rooms are very clean, there was delicious food on request and the host was really nice and helpful. Really great!

We planned to stay 2 nights but we ended up extending it to 5 nights. The family is extremely friendly and hospitable, going far and beyond to make our stay convenient and unforgettable: local tips, washing clothes, cooking any meals, short transports, and scooter rent can be arranged without hassle. They even significantly discounted the final bill and gifted us with some local souvenirs! The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh ingredients cooked with love, and the recipes were changing according to our liking. Every morning when we left to explore and late at night when we came back they came out to greet us and see if all is fine. The resort is with amazing views. The lake, sunrise and sunset are gorgeous with a view to 3 biggest stupas with lights on the whole new night. It’s 7-10 minutes drive with a scooter to the nearest stupas and ancient hidden sights. We had many mornings e.g. at Wessagiriya cave complex meditating and resting on smooth rock formations under giant rocks shadows, and watching peacocks’ dancing. All rooms are with A/C and very comfortable beds. There is no water heating (or cooling) so if you don’t demand hot showers but instead prefer refreshing cool showers during the hot days, it will be perfect. Next time we will come back with a bigger family. Thank you so much for everything! 🙏
