Location was a bit hard to find. Could do with better signage

Stayed previously with my wife, this time with my son who was on a course.so he got the air mattress, he reckoned that was better than staying at a motel. Very tranquil setting removed from Paraparaumu but close enough. Has all the facilities you need, though a comfortable chair or sofa would be beneficial to us older persons.

Clear instructions and thought the keypad on the door handle was quite cool! Responsive and friendly host.

Private location with great outlook. Very good shower and all the facilities you're likely to need including a cook top. You are quite secluded though close enough to everything.

Access from parking to cottage bit marginal when wet and dark, no defined path. Being older, probably some more comfortable seating than the sofa/spare bed.

Not too far from town but felt like a world away. Clean and warm with everything I needed for the weekend

Its a lovely self-contained unit. After a long journey it was lovely to walk in to find a super cleaning warm room. It was a comfortable bed, slept really well especially with it being remote, so peaceful.

We did think it could do with TV but we actually didn't miss it!

Stunning location. Dead quiet & amazing night skies. Wildlife & beautiful walks to the sunrise. Wake up to the sunrise at your feet. Even a few blackberries this time of the year. Well heated & insulated & fresh & clean thanks guys.

Everything was absolutely beautiful. The views were stunning, the atmosphere peaceful, and the property had such a refreshing, open feel — perfect for both reflection and connection. The host was friendly and accommodating, making sure everything was set up for me to have a great stay. The facilities were clean and well-kept, and the space worked perfectly. I left feeling rested, inspired, and grateful. Would definitely recommend Hilltop View to anyone looking for a place to gather, recharge, or just enjoy the beauty of Nikau Valley. 🌿

The location was peaceful and private. The bed was really comfy. Place was clean and tidy. I really appreciated all the tea options, the coffee, and milk; we weren't going to run out.

Perfect, cosy and very tody place. We loved our weekend stay, loved waking up to a view. Warm and wifi! Bargin for the price and very close to town, 6min drive and easy to find. Will definitely be booking again.

Gorgeous and comfortable and clean! Even got a bottle of wine from the host, which was very generous and thoughtful. Can't wait to go back!

They don't have an oven but you can get by now that they have an additional way to cook food. You can make easy meals. I like that there was no TV to distract from chilling out, enjoying your company and the view.

Very clean. Very tidy. All amenities supplied. Although it appears isolated which is great if you want peace and quiet, it's super safe. Easy to find and no fuss contact with host. I liked having a vacuum cleaner.

Awesome private place to chill out

No oven or stove top. The portable stove top lacks enough power to heat properly. If you need to cook suggest bringing a thick skillet so as to distribute heat evenly. Other than that it’s brilliant.

It was an amazing stay! Very clean, well supplied with little extras, and the view is amazing.

This was a beautifully clean and comfortable little cabin with a lovely view down the valley. It was peaceful, just rhe sound of the birds.

Location was remote but easily accessible. Nice and quiet. Lots of lovely native birds and very pretty views.

We had a long stay so I found the kitchen a bit challenging.

Privacy was great. View from rear of apartment was excellent - rural scenery- green fields, trees etc. Internet was good. Hosts were quick to answer requests and to act on queries and suggestions - although it was all via internet.

Light from internet router (switch unreachable on a high shelf) reflected all night from the white ceiling and kept me awake three nights out of the four - it did get fixed for the last night. Property is nowhere near public transport, taxis or shops of any kind. You would certainly need a car to stay here.

Location was great... close to town but far enough to be lovely and quiet peaceful.

A couple of saucepans were not clean with burned remnants of food/oil left. No biggie, I cleaned them as best I could. Towels were a bit harsh and only 3 towels for a 3 day stay for 2 people. Would have liked more. There was no top sheet, only a duvet, which seems to be fashionable, but i question the hygiene. Luckily, I brought my own linen. The bed had wooden legs and footboard and was close to the wall. Hard not to hurt toes and knees getting up out of bed. No TV.

The scenario was amazing. Lots of birds and beautiful views, at night was beautiful, sleeping with the curtains open

It was so peaceful. I loved how secluded it was and the beautiful views. Extra touches throughout made me know that the owners are very thoughtful 😊 I will definitely be back!

Really lovely spot! The cabin is exactly as pictured: cute & comfortable. It's very peaceful, private, and clean. The instructions were easy for getting in and I felt safe with that lock! I needed the Wifi for work, and there were absolutely no issues, even with the storm(s). The heater was great, shower pressure & hot water were fab, the coffee was such a super nice touch! You can watch the rainclouds almost at level with the hills. I loved the babbling brook and seeing sheep/cows nearby. It was a perfect getaway for the weekend.

Tidy, cozy and quiet property with lovely views. Enjoyed watching the rain fall over the hills while relaxing indoors.. Would love to stay again in future.
