Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und kümmern sich wirklich darum, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Bei Fragen kann man jederzeit auf sie zukommen und vor Ort lassen sich auch verschiedene Touren und Aktivitäten organisieren. Die Lage ist praktisch, unter anderem nahe am Busbahnhof, und auch die Ancient City ist gut erreichbar. Das Zimmer war einfach, aber sauber und vollkommen ausreichend. Besonders gut fanden wir das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – für den Preis bekommt man wirklich sehr viel.
Eigentlich gab es nichts, was uns wirklich gestört hat. Unser Zimmer hatte nur einen Ventilator und keine Klimaanlage, wodurch es zwischendurch etwas warm werden konnte. Das war für uns aber kein großes Problem.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2026Das Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben mit ihm zusammen unsere Safari gebucht und auch eine Stadttour gemeinsam gemacht. Auch bei allen weiteren Fragen hat er uns weitergeholfen. Können wir nur empfehlen!

We had a problem with the air conditioner, however the hosts were very quick to act to get it fixed. The hosts are very friendly with lots of suggestions. They will even take you on a tuk tuk tour if you like. The room is close to everything. Wifi was good.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026El personal era muy amable, nos daban consejos para ver la ciudad ancestral y para los buses. Tenían bicis para alquiler en el propio hotel a precio económico. El ultimo día nos hicieron el favor de acercarnos hasta la parada de bus antigua para poder coger el bus e intentar así ir lo más comodo posible en el trayecto.
La ubicación era un extraña ya que era un lugar semiapartado, estaba a la paralela de la calle principal, pero para llegar había que meterse por calles llenas de perros callejeros y oscuros por la noche, entraba un poco el canguelo. Aunque pareciese que todo estaba limpio se veía que les faltó limpiar partes del baño ya que había algún pelo cuando llegamos.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026La familia es encantadora y nos dieron todo tipo de facilidades para hacer turismo por la zona gestionar safari desde allí. Para cualquier cosa que necesitáramos ahí estaban. La habitación es espaciosa, limpia, silenciosa y no hubo mosquitos a pesar de estar al lado del lago. El entorno es tranquilo y bonito y está en pleno centro, a 5min andando de l estación de autobuses.
Todo estuvo correcto.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026The staff were helpful and recommended sites around town for us to see and places to eat. I had a standard British power adaptor that wasn't compatible with the sockets in the house. The host found an adaptor for me to enable me to charge my phone.
There were a few mosquitoes in my room that came in through the vent openings in the bathroom, so I put on mosquito repellent overnight. It would be nice if filtered drinking water was provided.

No te aigua calenta. La situació de l’allotjament no és gaire bona. Els llençols no estaven gaire nets. A la nit se sent molt de soroll de cotxes i animals (hi ha un llac just davant).

The bed was comfortable, and the room had both air conditioning and a ceiling fan, which was great. The family is absolutely lovely. Before booking any taxi or tuk-tuk, make sure to speak with them first! They genuinely care about their guests and want to make sure you have the best experience during your stay.
The room was clean and comfortable, although mosquitoes could come in through the bathroom window.

Super comfortable bed, nice quiet room with high ceilings, good AC and hot shower. Amazingly helpful and friendly owner, who lives onsite with his very nice family, providing tips for exploring the historical sites, and even some personalized suggestions and transportation for other nearby attractions vs. random pickme drivers. An overall perfect choice - highly recommended!

Er hat uns mit allem geholfen, von Fahrradverleih, Safari bis Transport und wir durften sogar nach unserem Checkout nochmal ein Zimmer nutzen zum Duschen. Die Zimmer sind groß und alles war sehr sauber, die Betten bequem. Die Lage ist sehr gut, da man sowohl eine Supermarkt als auch viele Restaurants und Shops in unmittelbarer Nähe hat und eine schöne Tagestour zur sacred City machen kann.

Location down a side street alongside a lake, easy access to walking path yet close to main shopping street, cafes, supermarket. Very clean room. Good airconditioning
The lighting in bedroom too dim for reading. No signage so place not easy to identify if you don't have google maps.

The location is 1 minute from the main street, with plenty of nice restaurants. It's located on a very quiet back street next to a large nice lake. I definitely recommend Sunhill Lake Tourist Rest.

Ne pas faire confiance au propriétaire pour l’organisation des excursions et visites des temples alentours car on vous annonce un prix déjà très élevé au départ, puis on vous demande encore de payer en plus tout le long du tour des temples et alentours des choses pas prévues. De plus, le propriétaire n’hésite pas à montrer son mécontentement et vous le faire savoir dès que vous faites une remarque ou demandez à voir autre chose que là où lui veut absolument vous emmener.

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026Nous avons avons passé deux nuits dans cet établissement très charmant au bord d’un lac (il est possible d’en faire le tour à pied ce qui est très agréable) L’hôte et sa famille sont très gentils, nous avons pu découvrir un jeu de société et passé une belle soirée conviviale L’hôte nous a également proposé ses services pour nous déposer à notre prochain step, ce fut un trajet des plus agréables, il a pris le temps de nous faire découvrir de beaux paysages et jardins en route. Je recommande grandement cet hébergement et vous conseil également de manger au restaurant Casserole juste derrière (conseillé par l’hôte) très bon et très peu cher. Encore merci de nous avoir accueillis !

Reviewed Mar 3, 2026The room and bathroom were both big. The hallway has a couple of seats to sit, as well as some outdoor seats at the front. Everything is clean, the A/C is efficient and the bed comfortable. There’s somewhere to pop your case on. The owners are extremely helpful and kind. They make tea and coffee for you. Plus, on the day I left, I wanted to catch the A/C bus (coach really) to Negombo and the gentleman very kindly ran me in his tuk tuk to show me where the bus stop is and stayed with me to see I got on the correct bus. How kind is that. The location is by the side of a lake, the bird life and the lake make an interesting walk. If you walk anticlockwise around the lake for about 5-10 mins you come to a place with tables by the lake advertising drinks for sale. The food there (it’s not immediately obvious that they sell food) is really good. I’d highly recommend eating here.

我住的是最便宜的房间，没有空调只有风扇，相当潮，还没有热水。说实话条件实在有点艰难。当天有空房的话可以升下级。

Maar het is wel rustig. De kamers zijn heel groot waardoor je de ruimte hebt. Het voelde hier als thuis komen

Reviewed Sep 18, 2025Woorden schieten tekort voor de lieve eigenaars van deze homestay! Ze hebben ons enorm goed geholpen en verschillende leuke uitjes voor ons geregeld. We kozen deze homestay op basis van andere recensies, waar werd verteld dat Pali gasten rondrijdt in zijn eigen tuktuk en geweldige safari’s organiseert. Beide klopten helemaal! We hadden vooraf contact via de chat van Booking om de tuktuk en safari te regelen, en Pali reageerde superduidelijk en snel. Zijn Engels is over het algemeen erg goed, en als iets niet meteen duidelijk is, kun je het gerust nog eens vragen. De kamer is precies zoals beschreven – niet luxer dan verwacht, maar perfect voor de prijs. Wij kozen de kamer zonder airco en dat was prima te doen met de ventilator. Ook zonder warme douche was het goed uit te houden met de warme temperaturen. De kamer was schoon (zeker voor Sri Lankaanse begrippen). Pali is ontzettend vriendelijk, oprecht en behulpzaam. Wil je een fijne en betaalbare tijd in Anuradhapura, met iemand die je graag helpt om het meeste uit je verblijf te halen? Dan is dit absoluut een aanrader!

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025Host davvero straordinari: ottima accoglienza all'arrivo, abbiamo organizzato subito per il giorno successivo il noleggio di due bici direttamente dalla famiglia. Camera ampia e pulita. Dopo il nostro tour della città la famiglia ci ha dato consigli per l'itinerario dei giorni a seguire e ci hanno portato con il loro tuktuk alla tappa successiva. Buoni prezzi.

Reviewed Sep 11, 2025La familia que lo lleva es maravillosa y muy acogedora te hacen sentir como en casa.Te ayudan con lo que necesites. Además nosotras hicimos un tour a diferentes templos de la zona, nos llevó hasta ahí y nos explicó sobre la historia de los lugares. Pudimos contemplar sus tradiciones, a la hora de rezar. El anfitrión nos hizo sentir muy integradas y informadas. Estamos muy agradecidas.

The owner has arranged us the safari to wilpattu, it was very good organized and a fantastic experience! 100% recommend this homestay!!!
