Tracy is the most welcoming host, providing tips on where to visit.
The kitchen is well equipped, with an electric hob, air fryer and microwave.
Most dog friendly property we've visited.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026Tracy was a breath of fresh air and was so lovely and friendly with 2 beautiful dogs of her own .
I didn't know other guests were staying in another part of the house with their dogs. They were lovely people but one of their dogs was a massive dog like a big black donkey and one my daughters dogs was afraid of it. Thankfully they kept their dog inside a lot because it was massive and beautiful but intimidating to the smaller one in my company but it all worked out well...
As other guests are coming and in the gates you need to be wary that the dogs won't go out on the main road...
It's a beautiful place to stay and Tracy made us all welcome

Property was not as described at the time of making a reservation. One of the hosts’ dogs went inside the property and peed under the table which I had to clean.

Have to think about it, there is nothing really.
The host was very welcoming and gave us a comprehensive list of where to go eat etc also she thought of absolutely everything that you might need. I feel the emergency supplies basket was a great touch. Bed was extremely comfortable and the accommodation was warm with a relaxing atmosphere. Would have been content just to stay in. Bonus was we were able to bring our little dog with us.
Can't say we found anything negative worth mentioning

I enjoyed plenty of swimming nearby and found lots of lovely places to eat. The shower was excellent, the cooking facilities had everything I needed, and the cosy atmosphere made me feel right at home. The cottage is quaint, beautifully designed, and perfect for a relaxing stay.
Tracy is a true dog person! My dog was welcomed with open arms, and there’s a lovely quiet road nearby that’s perfect for walks. I would highly recommend Tracy’s cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful country escape with their dog ❤️

Reviewed Jun 14, 2025Setting, short drive to Whitegate. Owner Tracy was very helpful and solicitous although on holidays. Comfortable lounge and bed.
Eclectic mix of knickknacks around rooms gathering dust! Hot water systems and heaters not working for first night until we learned how to switch on from pump shed. Stairs a challenge.

Reviewed May 16, 2025lovely little cottage with loads of charm and quirks. The owner Traci could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond including leaving lovely food in the fridge for my arrival. I was touring on a motorcycle and there is an abundance of scenic places to visit. I hope to return to Coose cottage in the not too distant future.
The only little annoyance was the road noise which triple glazing in the bedroom would solve easily, having said that, the bed was so comfortable that it was difficult to leave it each morning. I would definitely recommend Coose cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday and again i can not speak highly enough about the lovely host Traci.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2024Lovely cottage in the countryside with a cute pony, Teddy! We had a lovely stay with our dog. The cottage is very comfortable and the host, Tracy, is very responsive and accommodating. We would happily stay again :)
Only minor thing - kitchen could have a few more sharp knives for cooking and one of the blinds in the bedroom didn’t close all the way. Otherwise, excellent!
We were there for a family occasion in the area and the location was perfect.
Coose Cottage is a quirky, interesting home, full of character. It was fascinating to look through the album of photos of the amazing restoration work that Tracy and her family did to bring an old building back to life.
The kitchen is small, but who wants to do a lot of cooking on holiday, especially when there's good food available at The Half Barrel pub in nearby Whitegate.
Tracy was a very welcoming and obliging hostess, and prior to arriving we communicated very quickly and effectively through WhatsApp. She also left us basic supplies - tea, coffee aand milk, brown bread, butter and jam. A very nice touch!
This is not a criticism, just a comment to make people aware.
The stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom could be tricky for anyone with mobility difficulties. It's an old building and the individual steps are higher than modern houses. We're in our 70s and managed fine, but they would have been a problem for my wife prior to hip replacements.
