Waingarth Cottage Grizedale Forest & Satterthwaite

Beautiful views & most things had been thought of for us. Great for our two dogs. Kitchen well equipped

That it was such a late check-in and early check out (we did manage to secure a later check out). Minor thing potato peeler would have been useful.

tastefully decorated semi-detached house with a decent garden. (The ground floor is split level) No mobile signal in the area but had BT wifi. There is enough parking for 2 small cars. Close to hiking around Grizedale.

Owners have complete remote access to the heating of the house (electric heating with wifi/app controlled) and you are locked out and have no control. They decide when the heating comes up and when it goes down. After 3 days of e-mailing back and forth, I gave up. They were even bold enough to state that in a notice by the wifi router. It's a countryside house, so expect spiders in ceilings, etc. Post stay I contacted again the management company to give some feedback with photographic evidence, and the owners commented back stating I had more than 6 people in the house according to the neighbors (which I didn't, and yes, there are neighbors, and seems they are rather nosy) Also shows the caliber of the owners, all I wanted was a simple apology and that was the response I got. Also note 5p.m check-in time and 9.30a.m check-out time in the small print.

Isolated and very quiet. All modern conveniences and tastefully decorated.

Limited loo rolls. No opportunity for late check out. 9:30am is very early to leave with young children.
