We had a very memorable stay and truly appreciated the kindness and hospitality of the hosts Sameer and his son Rishfan. They were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and always tried to make our experience special. They helped us organize activities, provided snorkeling equipment, and made us feel safe and comfortable during our time on the island. The island itself is beautiful, and the ocean life was the highlight of our trip. We loved snorkeling, seeing colorful fish, exploring the nearby reefs, and experiencing the beauty of the Maldives. The breakfasts were delicious, and it was also possible to order dinner from the host if we wanted to enjoy a homemade meal. Getting to the beach was very convenient, and Sameer kindly provided us with bicycles with baskets, which made it easy and comfortable to carry our beach items. The personal attention and care from the host made our stay feel very special.

There are a few things that could be improved. Unfortunately, there was a strong mothball smell throughout the building, including the corridors and the room. The smell was noticeable immediately upon arrival and stayed on our clothes and suitcase even after returning home. The bathroom fixtures also need some updates. During our stay, there was also quite a lot of construction on the island, which slightly affected the peaceful atmosphere.

Unser Aufenthalt im The Sunrise war rundum fantastisch und absolut empfehlenswert. Gastgeber Sameer ist eine außergewöhnlich herzliche Persönlichkeit, die wirklich alles dafür tut, dass sich seine Gäste wohlfühlen. Mit über 20 Jahren Erfahrung in einem nahegelegenen Resort im Bereich Food & Beverage bringt er unglaublich viel Know-how und Gastfreundschaft mit – und genau das merkt man vom ersten Moment an. Die Zimmer sind funktional, gemütlich und vor allem sehr sauber. Man sieht deutlich, dass Sameer viel Zeit, Liebe und auch Investitionen in die Unterkunft gesteckt hat. Besonders schön war für uns auch der persönliche Austausch: Wir hatten sehr interessante Gespräche über die maledivische Kultur, seinen Weg von einer festen Anstellung zum eigenen Unternehmen und die Herausforderungen und Chancen, die damit verbunden sind. Es ist beeindruckend zu sehen, wie er das Gästehaus gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn aufgebaut hat – die beiden scheinen sich hervorragend zu ergänzen. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls ein echtes Highlight. Man kann zwischen einem englischen und einem lokalen maledivischen Frühstück wählen. Wir haben uns für das lokale Frühstück entschieden und waren begeistert: sehr lecker, liebevoll zubereitet und schön präsentiert, serviert in einem gemütlichen Frühstücksbereich. Besonders in Erinnerung bleiben auch die vielen kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten: Sameer gab uns tolle Tipps zu Restaurants und Aktivitäten auf der Insel, überraschte uns mit frischen Früchten vom Baum und stellte abends sofort Moskitoabwehr bereit, als die Mücken kamen. Man merkt einfach, dass ihm seine Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für diese großartige Erfahrung!

Es gab einen Wasserspender mit gefiltertem Wasser und extra Strandhandtücher. Das Personal war sehr nett und hat mir geholfen an einem Freitag auf die Insel zu kommen!

Fantastic place ...very clean room with everything you need for a comfortable stay.. quiet location only 5 minutes walk to a stunning bikini beach..lovely tall room,super comfy bed and pillows, good AC and a ceiling fan, bikes, beach towels ,tea coffee kettle, TV, water readily available..room safe, fridge, toiletries ,hair dryer, and Samir the owner serves a great breakfast.Samir was super helpful and did everything he could to make our stay perfect...we wouldn't hesitate to stay again, excellent value for money..thanks Samir!

Sameer e il suo staff sono incredibili, gentilezza estrema. Da appasisonati di subacquea abbiamo fatto fatica dato le numerose prentazioni al diving a trovare un posto libero, Sameer con una telefonata in dieci minuti ci ha sistemato 3 giorni interi di immersioni. Colazione perfetta, super carina e molto pulita. Offre tutte il necessario per una vacanza rilassante a costi contenuti

La distanza alla spiaggia più vicina è di circa6/700 metri, non proprio fronte mare, tuttavia una volta raggiunta si ripaga ampiamente la passeggiata fatta per raggiungerla. Huraa è un isola molto tranquilla, dimenticatevi la movida e la vita notturna, per quello ci sono i resort a 10 volte il prezzo di questa struttura. Questa struttuta, rapporto qualità, prezzo e professionalità del gestore è imbattibile

Ми бронювали це помешкання керуючись високими оцінками. Але не все у відгуках відповідало дійсності. Перш за все хочу сказати, що хазяїн Самір дійсно надзвичайно любязний і робить все можливе для своїх гостей, включаючи бронювання спід-бота і трансфер з пристані електрокаром. 1. Про їжу. Самір готував нам смачні сніданки, накривав на стіл і дивився чи все у нас є - додавав каву чи чай, обкурював від комарів і т.д.. Було запропоновано дві опції для сніданку - континентальний (три тости з маслом і варенням та варене яйце) та Мальдівський (солодкі боби, варене яйце та прісний великий млинець). Також завжди були свіжі фрукти на тарілочці - кавун або папая, соки (оранж або гуава) і кава чи чай. І лише в передостанній день ми дізналися, що можна було попросити омлет, а не варене яйце та тунець консервований замість бобів. Пишу, щоб наступні мандрівники знали - Самір готовий за запитом змінювати опції сніданку. Також не слід розраховувати на обіди чи вечері - ця опція більше не надається в помешканні. 2. Про номер. Ми бронювали стандартний номер - я не рекомендую його - ми бачили краєм ока номери делюкс і вони були більші за наш і кращі - тож рекомендую брати делюкс. Чисті пляжні полотенця та вода були щодня. 3. Про екскурсії. Самір співпрацює щодо екскурсій з чудовими хлопцями у яких велика лодка з накриттям. І він дав нам гарні ціни для екскурсії на скатів - ми залишились дуже задоволені. Але ми турагенти і хотіли спробувати екскурсії і на маленькій лодці - тому забронювали екскурсію на акул самі у інших хлопців з маленькою лодкою. Екскурсія була чудовою теж, однак ми отримали справжній екстрім з заливаням лодки водою і тим, що нас мало не загубили в морі :) Тож тим, хто екстрім не любить рекомендую брати екскурсії через Саміра :) 4. Велосипедів, про які тут багато хто писав, більше немає - вони поламались. Але ми це сприйняли нормально, бо острів невеликий і коли йдеш пішки - можна побачити більше - і крабиків і летючих мишей і т.д.

Не знаю чи це зауваження до помешкання чи до рівня відпочинку на локальни островах взагалі. Бо багато помешкань, що ми бачили на острові виглядали гірше ніж наше. Загалом ми не були готові до того рівня номерів, що надаються в помешканні. Тому тим мандрівникам що звикли до європейської чистоти слід бути готовити до запаху сирості та відшарування штукатурки по низу номера від сирості... Загалом відпочинок у цьому помешканні нагадував відпочинок десь у селі у бабці чи на дачі...

It was the King's room with beuatiful furniture, a bedlight, a big and comfi matrass without a crack and a large well equipped bathroom. Friendly owner Shameer who helps wherever possible. Very goog value for money.

The Mosque was very close and loud in the morning, and the room faced the breakfast area, a little busy in the morning. The thing is you need to shut all windows and put on AC, which is usually not my style. Otherwise, everything was better than expected.

Vom ersten Moment an fühlten wir uns wie zu Hause. Sameer ist ein absolut freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Man spürt dass er für seine Arbeit lebt und Freude an seinen Gästen hat. Die Lage ist perfekt, rund 10 Minuten fußläufig vom Bikinistrand entfernt und sehr ruhig. Es gibt auch einen RO Wasserspender um die Trinkflaschen zu füllen. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Vielen Dank für die guten Gespräche und die erholsamen Tage bei Dir.

Ich habe mich vom ersten Moment an unglaublich wohlgefühlt. Die Unterkunft war sauber, ruhig und sehr gemütlich. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Gastgeber - herzlich, aufmerksam und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich wirklich gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

Es gab nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat. Alles war so, wie ich es mir gewünscht habe.

Så mysigt litet guesthouse med fint rum. Fri tillgång till dricksvatten och snabbkaffe. God frukost. Bra AC och väl fungerande wifi. Så trevlig ägare och son, de var verkligen behjälpliga med allt. Fick mycket intressant information om ön. Tack!

Enligt mig var sängen alldeles för mjuk, jag uppskattar de oftast hårda madrasserna i Asien. Men för de flesta är de säkert bra.

Ich kann mich den Bewertungen nur anschließen. Sameer und sein Sohn sind außergewöhnlich nette, zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist sauber und gut durchdacht! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war das Fischen mit der Handline und das abendliche Grillen des Fisches!

In realtà l'unica cosa che mi è piaciuta è il fatto che siano venuti a prenderci all'arrivo al porto e ci abbiano riportati al ritorno.

Veniamo al soggiorno : quando siamo arrivati ci è stata assegnata una stanza la cui unica finestra si apriva sulla saletta delle colazioni, quindi era pressoché inutilizzabile e costringeva a stare sempre con la luce accesa. Abbiamo richiesto un cambio e ci ha spostati in una stanza in un'altra casa, li vicino, stavolta con un'ingresso sulla strada , che prendeva luce solo dall'ingresso ( quello che potrebbe essere un negozio con la vetrina davanti ), comunque migliore della prima. Da precisare che , contrariamente a quello scritto in altre recensioni, non c'erano biciclette disponibili nemmeno a pagamento, e che non ha fatto cenno ad attrezzature per lo snorkeling ( che comunque ci eravamo portati ). C'erano invece i teli da mare. Altra cosa che mi è dispiaciuto notare è che i pasti sarebbero costati 40 dollari a persona se fatti in struttura, mentre fuori, con 20 dollari abbiamo mangiato in due. Quindi in sostanza mi sembra che il gestore tenda a sfruttare gli ospiti per avere il maggior guadagno possibile. Inoltre ha preteso che pagassimo tutti gli 8 giorni prenotati anche se, per il maltempo, siamo rimasti solo 2 notti e questo, francamente , mi sembra del tutto spropositato. Da dire a parziale recupero ( molto parziale ) che ha prenotato e pagato per noi la barca del ritorno, e non si è fatto pagare i due piatti di riso della prima sera. Poi parliamo dell'isola : la bikini beach è a un quarto d'ora a piedi ed è in condizioni terribili , con un paio di ombrelloni rovinati e qualche lettino di plastica sporco. Poi, in generale, tutta l'isola sembra una città bombardata : va bene vivere la vera vita maldiviana, però immondizia sparsa, case diroccate, strade sterrate... In realtà mi chiedo come sia possibile che su Booking abbia dei punteggi così alti. Probabilmente se ci fosse stato il sole e avessimo potuto passare l'intera giornata su una spiaggia migliore, forse ci sarebbe pesato di meno. però sicuramente non torneremo là.

Mohamed et son papa étaient vraiment très sympathiques et a l’écoute. Nous avons fait une double sortie Dauphin /peche du soir. Très gaie et le soir ils nous on préparé un repas avec notre pêche. Ils sont venus nous chercher et nous ont ramené au bateau. Un grand merci. Pour tout.

We stayed in the sunrise Huraa for 2 nights and we enjoyed our stay at full. Location of the accommodation is very convenient close to the port and a few restaurants on the island. It is also only 8 minutes walk to the beautiful beach. The service at accommodation is top, as described and the team is professional, very friendly and nice people! I loved the Maldivian breakfast :)

We had an amazing time at the Sunshine Huraa where we stayed for 10 days ! We had cleaning service every day free of charge with water and clean towels provided daily. The Maldivian breakfast that was included was also lovely and professional. We loved the island as it was chill with a beautiful beach a close walk away. The bikes at the guesthouse also helped get around the island. We would highly recommend it and would love to go back in the future :)

Sameer it's a perfect host: very attentive to the details and he does everything to satisfy us. The rooms are very clean, there are bycicles for the guests and he offers nice trips for very good prices.

The hospitality and kindness of everyone at the Sunrise Huraa was wonderful, I cannot thank them enough! The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Mr. Sameer arranged a meeting with the dive centre (my main reason for coming to the Maldives) and was the most gracious, kind and professional host during my stay there. His family and him are amazing and I am filled with gratitude. One of my favourite places to stay. :)

We absolutely loved the warm hospitality of the staff, especially Dharemendra's delicious cooking and Sameer's gracious invitation to dinner. The property's proximity to the beach, with convenient bike rentals, was also a huge plus.

Pros: Cozy, family-run accommodation with only 4 rooms, creating a warm, personalized experience. Spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms with friendly, helpful staff who go the extra mile—like arranging alternative transport when needed and prividing with a lot of local information. A 15-minute walk to the beach, with free bicycles available for added convenience. Flexible check-out and a tasty breakfast—highly recommend trying the Maldivian option. Small, quiet island with a laid-back vibe, ideal for relaxation; the public bikini beach is well-equipped with publich/free sunbeds and umbrellas and very likely you'll have the whole beach for yourself.

Cons: Limited amenities on the island; it’s quiet and very local, so not ideal if you’re looking for variety in dining or activities. Only one beach, which is nice, but it may not appeal to those seeking beach hopping/exploring.

We had a truly enjoyable holiday on this authentic local island. The island's charm lies in its balance—enough interesting shops to explore and a nice bikini beach to unwind. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with plenty of activities to choose from. What stood out most was the exceptional service. Despite some challenging weather, Sameer and the entire team were incredibly flexible and quick to assist in every situation. Thoughtful touches like the bikes, umbrellas or the mosquito spray made our stay even more comfortable - things, you don't think about, but need in certain situations. All in all, it was a wonderful holiday that captured the true Maldivian vibe. Highly recommended!

It's a small home converted into a hotel. Very quiet, felt like I had a lot of privacy. Service was better than at another 4 star hotel I was in couple months ago. Printed out our visas for further travel. Water always available. Hotel staff easily available on whatsapp. Good quality food. Some guests even had dinners on the beach. Room looked better than on photos. Highly recommended.

This place reminds me the lovely life in my childhood . Kind people with clean village..worm place if you looking for quiet vacation away from busy fast life. Staff great and they will make your life easier.

It was further from the beach than we thought. But nothing is very far in Huraa. The beach is a 7-8 minute walk.

Amazing place to stay! The staff were so lovely and friendly, really happy to answer any questions. Their communication was excellent throughout - we messaged them at the time of booking and they confirmed things with us in the lead up, including booking our transfer from Male. Upon check-in, they provided a lovely explanation. The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioning was most welcomed. We also really valued having access to bikes to ride around the island. Would stay again and highly recommend.

It was such a pleasant stay. Whatever we asked for was granted to us. We also enjoyed public speed boat transfer to the airport which costed us only $15

We really enjoyed our stay, more than we were expecting. Offered activities like Sunset fishing, snorkling or sandbank were great. Owner was very nice and helpful and also all the staff. Water for free was very welcome in the hot weather. Moreover there were towels and also beach towels provided. There was also possibility of using bikes for free which we appreciated.

This was one of the most beautiful vacation we have had. The people in Maldives are very nice and friendly, and, in particular, Sameer, his son Rishfan and his staff are absolutely amazing. Mr. Sameer is the perfect host. Very guest-oriented, not too pushy but always there to inform or help you. A hard worker who gives his best so that his guests feel comfortable and perfectly treated! The accommodation was as expected, the rooms are perfectly arranged and equipped. Sameer is offering breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can order one day in advance. You can enjoy Maldivian typical dishes, fish, seafood, chicken, pasta, salads etc. The food was excellent and made with love. You will always have cold water available on the terrasse and at the reception. Regarding trips, I strongly recommend having them with Sameer. He knows everything about Maldives and the surroundings, and offers impeccable services. If you want to see the perfect sunset, I recommend you to go fishing with Sameer. He will teach you with a lot of patience how to throw the line and feel if the fish bites. With a little bit of luck, you'll catch the Giant Trevally (as we did 😊), which is considered a specific trophy on the island. We have also had a customized trip to the local Himmafushi sand-bank and another nice small island in the area (Vabboahura). Ask Sameer for this trip, you will not regret it. Finally, we have also tried a snorkeling trip with Sameer, and he has filmed us with his GoPro camera and shared the video. By staying at Sameer, you will understand the Maldivian life style, try the local food, understand the culture and history of Maldives (from Sameer and Rishfan), enjoy very good accommodation and food at Sunrise Huraa. The rooms were very nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Beds are very comfortable. They made airport transfer very easy. Very close to the bikini beach and away from the busier part of the island although the island is very laid back.

Left our bags to go eat (had to wait to pay) and came back and they were moved and the shoes were not so we forgot them in our haste.

I've spend 2 very peaceful and beautiful days in Huraa. Owner of Thw Sunrise is very helpful as all crew that is working here. They help us with ferry from Male (book and directions to jetty) also advice us what is the best way to get there from other island. He not only booked our ferry and to Male, but also was waiting for us when we arrived and helped with baggage. We could pay him and the price was good (10$ / person). Our room was clean and had everything that is needed for a stay here. Ac and fan was working very well (I didn't know that fan can work that good with heat!) Clean towels and free water were outside the room beside the basket when you can put dirty towels. I can only recommend this place to stay in this beautiful island. There are also bikes that you can borrow (for free) and ride around.

This is my first 10+ review Sameer and Jack went beyond my expectation They picked me up and luggagefrom getty and return. Warm welcome at the top, I had offered a fresh towel to clean my hand when I arrive with complimentary drink My room was upgraded for free at not extra charge only because it was available and it was a kind thing to do for their guest. The place was clean. And given extra towel in advance for shower and beach. Toiletries were available, plus complimentary tea and coffee with cattle in the room. Bed was very confortable. Host and staff very attentive and anticipating any need I could have. Communication was excellent. I had dinner and Maldivian breakfast- very delicious Also the apple from their tree were very nice:-) I did an excursion with Sameer and he made it memorable with the last touch of making videos with his gopro and passing everything on in a very short time for free. Service was +5stars and they made me feel at home. They let me use also a bike to go around. I felt so safe that I left my room unlocked all the time! I definitely recommend this guest house to everyone ! You should have no option for free cancellation.

The owner is very helpful! He arranged my speedboat, picked my up at the jetty. He also asked the capitan of the speedboat to bring me directly to the airport so I got there in 1 minute for free instead of 15 min taxi for 10 usd!! The breakfast is delicious and also the fish...!

I missed a view in my room. There was a window but 1 m further there was a wall.

Very nice approach of the owner, his son and whole Staff to the guests. Upon arrival at Huraa harbour we were welcomed by the representatives from the hotel, making us feel special from the very beginning. The same happened on the way back. During the wole stay the owner and his son were very helpful and they had philosophy that there is no problem with any of our requests. They also arranged for us a direct transport to the airport. Thanks to them we could hear a lot of interesting stories about Huraa, the nature around, fauna flora etc. The son of the owner has a really impressive knowledge about the underwater world. We found them very open minded and discussions with them were enjoyable for us. The food was also very good. We also tried the dishes in other places in Huraa but there was no comparison especially with the service. The guys from the Staff were really involved with their work too. Each person was trying to make our stay as most nice as possible. We really appreciate that we could be in such place.

We’ve had the most wonderful stay! Everything was perfect: clean room, comfortable bed, tasty food. Everyone was super nice and helpful, we felt welcome and taken care of. Even our 3 yo wants to come back for couple more nights :)

We were wonderfully taken care of. as soon as we arrive in the Maldives at the airport, the journey to Malé Huraa is done by speed boat in just 15 minutes. During from our arrival on the island, we were very well welcomed by smiling and welcoming staff. Our room was simply beautiful, spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and relaxing. We immediately felt like at home to our greatest happiness. Coast breakfast, we couldn't ask for better. Indeed, there is a wide choice offered to customers. At subject of activities, a large panel is available for all budgets. We had the chance to participate in the fishing activity with snorkeling and blue lagoon sandbank excursion which was Magic. On the trip I see too much daulphin it’s amazing ! We thank the staff for all the organization of the latter, for their smile and their kindness. A memorable moment in the middle of Indian Ocean. In addition, we were able to diversify our catering thanks to the restaurants located on the island, all of which are perfect. A very special thank you to Abdullah who organized our stay to perfection and who gave himself bother to respond to all our requests. We we really liked the moment of diving as well as the video taken with his GoPro which will remain a memory for life.

We loved the ‘home-from-home’ feeling cultivated through the well-designed facilities, seamless service, and emotional connection with the staff. We believe this is what makes Sunrise Huraa to stand out as a new type of luxury hotel in the age of overconsumption. The guesthouse provided everything we wished for (and even more): a comfy mattress to ensure peaceful rest, proper storage to avoid visual noise in the room, a complimentary bottle of cold water, and peachy, instagrammable beach towels. Breakfasts and dinners were the very best on the island thanks to the high hygiene standards, luxury dining-like experience, and reasonable prices. The food choice is a bit limited (well, it’s still a modest hotel on the island), but we found it delicious and very nutritious. We missed our Maldivian breakfasts so much that we got seven cans of tuna to recreate a glimpse of our vacation back home. Sameer and his staff create an unforgettable guest experience. They anticipated all our needs. They respected our privacy to let us sink into the quiet of the island and joined our conversations in the evening to share inspirational stories about island life, hospitality, people management and personal development. Fantastic. A simple but comfortable place, with everything you need and an easy walk to the beach. The owner and son are terrific, with exceptionally kind and thoughtful staff. Also no single use plastic!

Sameer is a 100% professionnal in tourism, worked 2 decades at a famous 5-stars resort, fully oriented on his guests well being, he will offer you excellent services in the house as well as extra services for boating, snorkling, restauration etc... He will give you a 5-stars experience with a taste of local life on a local island. His crew is very well trained and will do everything to make you feel at home, and help you in every way they can to make sure you spend good vacations on their island. The guest house is really good modern, comfy, clean. It feels like home on a paradise island

The owner and hotel service is extraordinary. They picked us up from the port at night and took us to the hotel by melex. Hotel is nice, super-clean and fragnant. Breakfast and lunch are delicious. Located close /walking distance (5-8 min) to the bikini beach. Highly recommend to stay. Speedboat from Male airport costs $10, local ferry $2.5 pp.
