Run by some wonderful humans. Great location, gorgeous views and deelish dinner from the restaurant. It was also a very short walk to Tarbert Castle which was beautiful!
The bathrooms could use a little freshen up and the bed was a little small and noisy. Other than that loved our little stay.

The location was great. The breakfast was solid.
The bathrooms need updating. The amount of rust on the towel warmer and mildew on the shower, not to mention size of the shower was super uncomfortable. The carpet in the room was gross. The hotel smelled like old fish. This place could be super cute and charge way more with some simple updates.
Good location Good restaurant Helpful staff Dog friendly

Mirror too high in bathroom
Nice room with harbour view, great location. Comfortable bed with nice bedding Very nice, freshly cooked breakfast. Nice bar and restaurant area Staff very friendly
Shower cubicle very small, Ensuite bathroom would have benefitted from some upgrading. Lights in dark hallway had a delay in coming on
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Food good.
The rooms look dated and could do with a paint. Same with the restaurant and bar.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, very helpful and friendly polite staff.
Main stair carpet had one or two dirty foot/boot marks/oil stain on it which doesn’t give a first good impression.
Excellent dinner, good selection of gluten free dishes for one of the party.
Reception was unattended when we arrived and it took a phone call to alert the owner. A method of calling someone to check one in other than using a mobile phone would be really helpful (perhaps an old fashioned bell?) Although the bathroom was generally very nice the washbasin had a couple of large cracks which rather spoiled the appearance of the whole. Room was a bit small but was as expected and fine for one night.
Excellent location.
Rusty radiator in ensuite
The staff were friendly and the food was ok.
The room was very basic and extremely expensive.
The seaview, comfortable bed and nice helpful staff made our stay very enjoyable in this pretty village.
The staff were very helpful and polite , made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived . Breakfast was delicious.
Direkt am Hafen, PUB nebenan war sehr gut
Schwierig mit dem Gepäck nach oben zu kommen; unser Zimmer bräuchte eine Auffrischung; Sitzmöbel im Frühstücksraum sind alt und verschlissen
Comfortable cosy room with a wonderful view over the harbour. The staff were welcoming and we enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. They sold proper beer on draught.
Our ferry to islay was cancelled so we booked in. We were a group of seven ( including two small children) and the hotel and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful! They made sure we had a table for dinner, they even made us breakfast bags to take away as we had an early ferry. The staff were so kind and really went above and beyond for us and I want to give them a 100/10!! The hotel and food was fantastic as well and I had a great sleep. Lovely quiet room overlooking the harbour, it was wonderful and I would come back again for a specific trip next time.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming even though it was a late check in
The towel rail in the room was rusty
Staff were very helpful and worked hard! Good location lovely views from window
We had a few issues with the room .. no heating, not clean enough, I wiped down the bedside cupboard tops before I could use them! only one double socket for the whole room so if you used the supplementary oil heater and made a cup of tea that was that! Spoke to the manager about some issues and he was very amiable
Staff and welcome was great
The room was disappointing, felt I’d drawn the short straw! No comfy chair, and view looked into other people’s homes! Not what I’d expected for the price. The hotel sells the view,
Breakfast staff friendly
Carpets tired and worn, no heating and no towel rail, tiny bathroom and soft bed
Restaurant room plus bedroom was good except the great view spoilt by moss and rubble on a small flat roof.
Excellent good friendly & attentive staff, clean comfy room, tv could've been better but for one night it was fine. Stayed and dined a few times. Excellent stop over for ferry and weekend break. Thanks guy's

The staff were lovely very helpful and kind , we had a sea view room which was excellent, great view overlooking the harbour 😎we dined in the hotel at night and the food was lovely followed by a great breakfast in the morning 👌
Staff were very helpful; Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
Food excellent Staff very kind, very helpful Looking forward to our next stay
Bra läge inför morgondagens tur till Islay med färjan.
Skulle ingå frukost o vi bad om en doggobag med smörgås och kaffe när vi kom på kvällen vid kl 21. Vi fick ett päron, chips o flaska vatten!
Staff are lovely the food dinner and breakfast is lovely. Room very quiet.
Room itself needs a bit of love. Bathroom tiny towel rail rusty and not working. Only free standing heater in bedroom so quite cold. Disappointing.
Location
Shabby, rundown and not very clean. Especially the bathroom.
good food
The full scottish breakfast was OK but the eggs benedict was poor. The eggs were hard and it was not that hot. Not the best taste either.
Breakfast could be better. Coffee not that hot out of the pot.
Location, comfortable room, friendly staff
Room was very small and too warm
STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY & POLITE, BREAKFAST & DINNERS ALSO WERE VERY GOOD.
BAR DIDN'T OPEN TILL 5PM
Dinner was the outstanding feature of this hotel. It was outstanding in quality and we would hugely recommend. The young staff were impressive and took the initiative to offer us a better and more convenient room without fuss.
The hotel doesn’t quite live up to the restaurant but was fine for an overnight stay. Unfortunately we were initially given the key to an already occupied room which caused some embarrassment.
Well situated great staff and a wonderful breakfast
Needs updating in areas . Bathroom especially.
very easy check in outside normal hours. tasty breakfast served by lovely staff.
Nothing I didn't like. The interior decor is a little on the tired side, but it is clean & tidy.
Delicious dinner followed by a good nights sleep with a great breakfast to follow in the morning. Comfortable clean room and a good bathroom with a fantastic shower. Staff were very friendly and even though we had an issue with payment it was easily sorted over the phone with no issue at all. Recommend to everyone
Nothing worth talking about
Great location. Staff lovely. Food value for money and tasty. Bed was comfy.
Needs upgraded and decorated. Very dusty and radiators rusty. More sockets needed in rooms.
Location perfect
No issues
The hotel was tired and in need of some tlc
Very good

Great location, close to the ferry to Islay. Access point and right on the harbour.
Totally mispriced for the quality of hotel. Linens and towels old, room extremely tired and hallway ceiling damaged from prior leaks or something. Aesthetically unpleasant, given I paid £155. 1 night
A delicious and brilliant dinner
The room was very nice (Room 4 if my memory serves me right) with nice bed and shower etc. The hotel overall was very good with a lovely breakfast. Bicycles were safely stored at the back of the hotel with access via the fire escape rear door. Carrying the panniers upstairs was no problem. Carpet on the stairs was dirty but this we were told was due to a town festival . staff all very nice, friendly and efficient. The town is very nice with plenty of cafes and restaurants. A nearby general store (COOP ?) and post office. Ferry was not too far away.
Dirty stair carpet but this will be cleaned (said the staff member).
Great location, helpful, very quiet and comfy bed
Great location and the evening meal was delicious seafood.
Our room was up several flights of stairs which could be problematic for some. Breakfast was good
Easy check in. Lovely meal in restaurant. Central location
Great location on the harbour, good room and fab restaurant, we enjoyed our meal and drinks. Staff helpful and friendly.
Bathroom a little tired and in need of some TLC - wall and shower seal.
Das Essen war gut, und das personal, hat sich Trotz Stromausfall (durch einen Sturm) sehr bemüht und die bestmögliche Zufriedenheit zu stellen
The location and the staff
It's a three star but it is a nice hotel
Evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast very good other than weak coffee
In a pretty harbour with some friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and clean Very close for catching ferry to Islay. Lots of free parking right opposite the hotel.
The hotel is in pretty harbour but the hotel and the village it is all very rundown. Top floor room with not much view. Bathroom had mould across the whole ceiling. Room was quite tired. We had two tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel for 3 adults and also a packet of only 2 biscuits for the 3 of us. Staff were very friendly but trying to find anyone to check in and out was a problem. Breakfast was quite mediocre. We were told we couldn’t have a drink in the bar as the tables were all booked for food despite only one having guests at the time.Told we could go to the pub next door but this didn’t look particularly inviting.
Decent clean room and bathroom. The food was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast. No problems getting gluten free options. Staff bey friendly.
- Free parking by the front door. - nice location in pretty harbour area. - good on site restaurant. - pleasant room.
- having to climb stairs to my room - an incredibly tiny shower stall - a very small double bed
Great communication, very helpful
Nothing
Beautiful views over the harbour. Good central location. Quiet. Excellent bike storage.
Minor thing - heated towel rail didn’t work.
The room was 14 c when we arrived at 10 pm , and the member of staff was indignant when we questioned the reason it was so cold ,
sehr freundliches Personal gute Auswahlmõglichkeit beim Frûhstück
Convenient location when ferries shut down (and gorgeous views! Great price for the value. All faculty was very personable and accommodating. The dinner was delicious and the included “full” breakfast was an unexpected nice treat. Highly recommend to those traveling through, very positive experience.
Breakfast was very good.
Bathroom was rather tired. Wash basin has a crack and shower hose needs replacing. Room door sticks making it noisy to open and close.
De locatie. Makkelijk te vinden, prima parkeerplaats voor de deur.
Geen lift aanwezig
Convenient location that also has a great seafood restaurant!
Small room but functional.
