Excellent location, very close to recommended restaurants. Support with organizing excursions and fantastic, friendly drivers. The upper-floor room with a balcony was comfortable, clean, and exactly what we originally booked.

Upon arrival, we were placed in a lower-category ground-floor room instead of our booked room with a balcony. The owner initially claimed it was an "upgrade with no extra charge" and only admitted later that our actual room was given to someone else, making us feel treated like second-class guests. The ground-floor room had a serious cockroach problem – we had to get rid of several during the night, and more kept appearing (photos attached). Breakfast below average compared to most places we stayed at in Sri Lanka.

Ce logement est plus qu'une guest house, il est géré tel un hôtel, Sahan et sa famille sont vraiment aux petits soins afin que les voyageurs passent le meilleur séjour possible 🙏🏼 Nous avons adoré l'emplacement de ce logement : proche des restaurants, petits supermarchés, du réservoir pour voir de beaux sunsets et des ruines de Polonnaruwa (que nous avons pu visiter en vélo, Sahan propose la location de vélos directement à la guest house c'est génial). Notre chambre et la maison en elle-même étaient extrêmement propres, notre chambre était climatisée et et avait tout le nécessaire de toilette (serviette, savons, sèche-cheveux,...) mais aussi des petits sachets de café. Nous avons été accueillis avec un jus de bienvenue qui fût très rafraîchissant avec ces chaleurs ☺️ Enfin, le petit déjeuner, inclus dans le prix, est excellent et copieux ! Nous avons passé un super séjour et y reviendrons sans hésiter !

A lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. You can also rent a bicycle directly from the hotel, which is a great way to explore the ancient city. Highly recommended!

Sahan tourist house was the perfect stay to see the ancient ruins and to be near the bus stop! The room was clean and quiet with aircon, mosquito net and shampoo/body wash. Sahan was great and organised a lovely sunset boat safari and scooter rental for us - he was super relaxed about what we wanted to do and wasn't pushy at all. Highly recommend.

Could have provided breakfast option in advance, preferably on the previous day. Both local and foreign tourists generally prefer Sri Lankan breakfast and it would be better if the same is catered.

Las habitaciones son correctas. Nada de lujo pero amplias, limpias y con A/C. La ubicación es muy buena. Está a 3min en bici de la entrada del área arqueológica de Polonnaruwa. Sahan es un gran anfitrión. Él mismo nos alquiló las bicis a muy buen precio para hacer el tour dentro de la ciudad antigua. El desayuno es correcto. Todo el personal es súper amable, siempre dispuestos a ayudarte con una gran sonrisa. Tiene una buena relación calidad-precio.

I had a great stay at Sahan's, everyone was lovely and I was greeted with a fresh cold juice and information about how to visit the sites. I rented a bike which was super convenient, the location was ideal - right by restaurants and shops and very close to the lake and the museum to start my visit of the ancient city. If I'm ever back I will be sure to stay here again. Breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable.

オーナーは、日本語ができ親切でフレンドリーな方です。スリランカの中で一番日本らしい場所と感じました。ベッドの寝心地もよかったし、お湯もしっかり出たり、アメニティが揃っており、WiFiもいい。朝食が適量だったりと困ることなかった。 オーナーからは、ポロンナルワの街の話や日本で働いてた話など聞けました。びっくりしたことに、私たち家族の隣町に住んでた（また住む予定）ということ。子供もすぐなついて、来年日本で花火大会行こうと約束してました(笑)　犬も可愛いかったです。 遺跡観光はオーナーのトゥクトゥクツアーにお願いして効率的に回ることができました。遺跡からも近い場所にあります。近くにあるMr.Punsiri's Kitchenというレストランオススメです。 短い間でしたが、楽しく過ごせました。時間があればゆっくりしたい居心地の良い場所です。

Nous avons apprécié la convivialité, la disponibilité, la propreté du logement, son emplacement, le tour en bateau pour le coucher de soleil, la visite de la cité antique en tuk tuk, les commerces et restaurant à proximité.

You can rent a bicycle for 500rs/day Location is great, 100 meters away from the bus stop and not even 5 minutes away from the ticket counter, close to the temples and to the lake. Plus a bakery and a good cheap restaurant just across the street. The owner was also super kind!

Excellent stay, rooms are simple but spacious, comfortable and clean. Great location close to the ancient city and lots of restaurants and minimarts. I arranged a bike through them to explore which was perfect and in good condition. The host and the rest of staff are super friendly, and they helped get me to Sigiriya using their own tuk tuk. Everything was a very fair price. Plus they have very cute dog. Thank you!

Be aware it is close to the main road so you may get some traffic noise, but it is not too bad

Ubicación. El hombre del hotel era muy simpático. Nos llevó en tuktuk por la ciudad antigua de Polonnaruwa y después nos ofreció un safari para ver elefantes, el cual recomendamos ya que se ven muchos. El desayuno muy bueno.

Sahan a été d’une grande aide pour notre séjour à Polonnaruwa. Nous a emmenés visiter la vieille ville en tuk tuk pour un prix très raisonnable, à organisé notre safari en jeep privé. Toujours disponible pour aider et répondre à nos questions. Logement très propre et très agréable avec un petit jardin aménagé. Petits déjeuners variés et délicieux.

Ruime kamers met airco en muggennet. Grote ontbijtruimte met heerlijk Singalees ontbijt zoals pannenkoeken en fruit. Fijne ontvangt! Vlakbij het meer.

I enjoyed my night at Sahan Tourist House, all services were good and the guests were kind and available. I could rent a bike to visit Polannaruwa for a small price. Recommended budget accommodation.

The manager was so helpful. He provided a bike for me to cycle around the old city, helped with directions and suggestions of activties to do, and took me to the bus station on my final morning. He made sure I was on the correct bus and that I knew where to hop off. The breakfast was amazing. Plentiful and delicious. The location is so convenient, just a few hundred metres from the ticketing office and a very short bike ride to the city. Lots of great cafes and places to eat close by.

- The bed is extremely uncomfortable, far too hard, and we slept poorly during both nights. - The property is noisy and poorly soundproofed. However, the value for money is there. The place is clean, spacious, and the staff are very kind and welcoming. Two nights maximum is probably the right amount of time. :)

La proximité avec le site archéologique, la gentillesse incroyable de nos hôtes, la chambre très confortable, agréable. L'hôte nous a emmené faire la visite du site en fin d'après midi car la chaleur devait être insoutenable le lendemain et nous avons bien fait de l'écouter. Le petit déj était très complet et très bon. Si nous devons revenir au Sri lanka, nous repasserons par ici.

Rien, même la route a proximité n'est pas un problème car ma circulation est presque inexistante la nuit et le logement est bien orienté.

The location was perfect - very central but just off the road. Very clean and smart. Great value for money. The host was super helpful. We had changed our plans last minute to stay the night as we heard there was a religious festival on with dancers, music and elephants. It was out of this world amazing.

Great location for exploring the lake and the ancient city. Excellent breakfast. Good value and a good price on bike hire. Sahan is I credibly helpful and knowledgeable but not at all pushy. I felt my needs were listened to and appropriate suggestions for activities and onward transportation made. Mr Punsuri recommendation was spot on. Would definitely stay here again. Sahan aya was really nice and accomodating - we had to cut our trip short due to an injury, but he and his wife were attending to everything we needed, and the room was as advertised. Bonus points for the breakfast, which was really filling and good, not always the case with guest houses! Would recommend.

Had a lovely stay at Sahan Tourist House. Host is super responsive and provides us with everything we need including a great breakfast. Clean and tidy room with air conditioning which help us to beat the hot climate and have a comfortable sleep. The location also very convenient as it is close to the township. Surely we will be back.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral gelegen. Der Gastgeber ist stets bemüht für das Wohl seiner Gäste. Ich war nur eine Nacht dort und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Tuktuk Tour in die alte Stadt wurde von Sahan persönlich durchgeführt. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ich hatte sogar einen Balkon. Ein wunderbarer Ort mit einem aussergewöhnlichem Gastgeber. Ich komme sicher wieder wenn ich in der Gegend bin.🙂

Nous avons adoré l’accueil du lieu. Le couple de gérant est très aimable et est à disposition pour toute demande. Nous leur avons loué un vélo pour visiter les lieux importants et avons passé une très bonne nuit. L’environnement est très propre, il y a de la climatisation et de la wifi et le lieux est à proximité de tout c’est très pratique. Merci !

Номер в отличном состоянии, всё новое, всё работает, везде очень чисто. Большая терраса, на которой хорошо посидеть вечером. Расположение просто лучше некуда. Находится недалеко от дороги, но при этом в глубине, поэтоу шум совершенно не ощущается и не мешает сну. При этом в шаговой доступности остановка, где останавливаются междугородные автобусы, так что даже тук-тук не нужен (по крайней мере, чтобы приехать сюда. Для отъезда из города ловить автобус на этой остановке будет не особо удобно, лучше всё же на автовокзал). Развалины древней столицы тоже в шаговой доступности, хотя отправляться туда пешком – плохая затея (расстояния между разными точками руин достигают нескольких километров). Очень дружелюбный, общительный хозяин, всегда готовый помочь словом или делом. За сравнительно небольшую плату он же нас возил на тук-туке по руинам и рассказывал про них – однозначно стоит того, если хочется именно получить впечатление от древнего города, а не потратить большую часть сил и времени на перемещение между локациями (впрочем, многие там перемещаются на велосипедах, кому как).
