Fan in the bathroom would have been good. A side table on the right could be good. No bedside lamps, just the overhead. It was obvious that this used to be a hostel, which is fine, but not really what we want as an old couple. We noticed the property was for sale, so perhaps the new owners will do some upgrades or redo as a hostel again.

No facilities apart from a bed. Noisy location above a busy road junction. Called a hostel but no hostel facilities, not even a kettle. Shower facilities are mixed sex with only shower curtains between you and anyone else. The showers aren’t in lockable cubicles. This fact needs to be pointed out to potential guests. Owner? didn’t identify herself when she came into the building in the morning so we never met her

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026L'emplacement est idéal, en plein centre, au début de la petite rue commerçante. Les lits sont bien (matelas). Par contre, il faisait une chaleur infernale dans la chambre, et peu de possibilités d'aérer.
Pas beaucoup de possibilités d'aérer la chambre. Un ventilateur serait un minimum, surtout quand on dort à plusieurs. Pas de casiers pour mettre les affaires en sécurité. Une bouilloire pour se faire chauffer un café ou un thé le matin serait bien aussi.

Bathroom facilities were unacceptable to me. Open area with 2 toilet cubicles serving male and female. Toilets fine. But no privacy for the 2 showers. Only a plastic shower curtain. There should be a door or solid opaque screen for each shower. The owners could have provided a kettle. Although I knew of limited facilities in advance, a kettle would have made a big difference. Very poor value for money. Hostel should be much cheaper

At first I was sceptical about having no tea/coffee ir kitchen facilities but didn't need to as straight across the road is a cafe open early doors and so many places to eat, so was not an issue at all

Reviewed Aug 16, 2025La ubicación perfecta, en la calle principal de Kenmare. Fácil aparcamiento en la calle. Estaba muy limpio todo, dormitorio y baño, las camas comodísimas, la ropa de cama y toallas impecables.
Horario limitado de check in, solo de 17h a 19h. Que no tenga ni una kettel para hacer una infusión o café soluble. En el área común tienen espacio para ello.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2025The hostel is conveniently located in the town of Kenmare. It is clean, a little old world, and had a very nice sitting room where one could meet other hostellers.
With all the restaurants in Kenmare to chose from it is understandable that a food service would not be provided. But tea and coffee making facilities would really help add to the wonderful atmosphere that is already there, to especially support meeting other hostellers. The window of the room I was in faced the main street going south from Kenmare. The window needed to be closed to reduce noise from the street, but this greatly reduced the ventilation in the room with ten people in it, I think. It was unpleasant, to say it gently.
