I loved everything about this apartment, it was modern and the kitchen fully equipped. The area was quiet and safe. The owner was very friendly, I believe Lars and the cleaner. It was lovely to have a conversation with a local. Oh and there was free parking at the accommodation. Until next time.

Our stay in this modern rorbu apartment in Ballstad was truly unforgettable. Even months before our arrival, our host, Lars, was exceptionally helpful and welcoming - answering all our questions about local logistics and the best apps to navigate EV charging on the islands. That warm hospitality set the tone for the entire trip. The apartment itself is ultra-modern, spacious, and beautifully designed with a natural, low-key Nordic wooden aesthetic. It is meticulously maintained and whisper-quiet- zero noise at all, making it wonderfully peaceful. Practical details like the central vacuum system make daily life easy, and the community's embedded Molok waste system keeps the entire surroundings spotless. It felt completely intuitive and comfortable, like our modern home away from home. The highlight is the huge deck. It catches the morning sun for breakfast and dramatic evening light over the water, active boats, and classic Nordic red cabins, framed by panoramic views of Skottinden, Nonstinden, and Munkan. For hiking, the location is unbeatable: the trailheads for Nonstinden and Ballstadheia are just a 1.5 km walk or a 3-minute drive from the door. Ballstad proved to be the ideal central base for exploring Lofoten without the hassle of packing up to switch hubs. Daily essentials are effortless: a local Joker is right in town, while Leknes is only 15 minutes away for major grocery stores (Coop Extra, Rema 1000) and fast EV chargers. Plus, right in Ballstad, the family-run @Moments café is an absolute must for authentic kanelboller, Argentinian cakes, and great coffee with non-dairy options. We fell in love with Ballstad, this beautiful apartment, and Lofoten. We cannot recommend Lars's place highly enough and will definitely be back!

This apartment was amazing! Our favorite stay in Norway and Lofoten for sure. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, shower was super nice with the bathroom being extra spacious, and the washer was efficient and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were sad to leave. We loved waking up to the beautiful pier view in the living room. It got windy during our stay but the windows were super soundproof and didn’t cause any disturbances. The host Lars was super communicative and got back to us immediately when we had a question. The location was great if you want to explore around Leknes. We went on a gorgeous hike just 3 min drive away from the apartment! Highly recommend!

The house is well designed, clean and comfortable. Staying here feels like home away from home. The location is great, highly recommended this place as it sits right in middle of Lofoten with the gorgeous harbor view. Northern lights are clearly seen in front of the house.

The blanket and bedsheet could have been more comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Modern Fisherman’s Cabin. What a lovely, modern, sparkling clean apartment with beautiful waterfront views overlooking the harbour, rorbuers and nearby peaks. The apartment is spacious, very quiet, beds really comfy and it’s equipped with everything you need to relax, cook and wash your clothes if needed. There’s a small supermarket in the little village or a larger option just five minutes away. Lars is friendly and easy to communicate with and responds immediately if you have any questions. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending The Modern Fisherman’s Cabin and would definitely choose to stay there again myself.

This was one of the best stays we’ve had anywhere. The apartment was spacious, well appointed, well stocked and perfectly clean. Having the washing machine was critical for us, and it worked well. We almost never even turn on the TV when on vacation, but couldn’t resist watching the beautiful, giant one here. The location worked well for seeing the islands - it’s quite central. We were wondering if Ballstad was too far off the main road, but it was a simple trip on a good road to get back out there, and having lots of nearby groceries was a bonus.

Die Lage ist wunderschön und die traumhafte Aussicht direkt auf das Wasser haben wir von der Terrasse aus mit den vorhandenen Gartenmöbeln sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist super modern, komfortabel und sehr geräumig. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die moderne und voll ausgestattete Küche mit hochwertigen Geräten, das große Bad und der große Fernseher, der unserer ganzen Familie Komfort bot.

Amazing! The cabin is perfect. It may say cabin in the description but the apartment is huge and luxurious. Comes with everything you need and all the extras you’d wish in a holiday, inc a complete kitchen, washer. They also have a space to hung dry your clothes so it is just perfect. But the views tops it all up. The cabin is right in front of the dock with full views of the water and the mountains. It is very serene and all you can hear are just the birds and nature. As per the location it was also so convenient, right in the middle of Lofoten Islands so you can make this as tour base and drive to either ends in just 1hr. If there’s anything I could change, I wished we stayed longer.. but maybe next time and hopefully soon.

Perfect equipped and very tidy with a beautiful view to the harbor and mountains. Loved everything in this cabin. The lessor (Lars Konrad) was always a great help to provide immediate suggestions. Unfortunately we never met him in person to thank him.

Stunning location with very modern facilities inside. We had a really warm, comfortable, and secure stay with everything we needed. There is a gorgeous hiking area a stone’s throw away that is very easy and accessible (and a harder one too!). The view and decking are is gorgeous with lots of bird life, grey herons are one of my favourites so I really appreciated seeing them hang out on the rocks each morning! Bus stop right outside, just a 20-30min journey to Leknes where you can get buses further out - very useful for us as we had a problem with our hire car. I don’t think Lofoten shouts about how brilliant its bus service is for tourists, we would have been stuck without us, and the bus back to Ballstad even waited for us when out other one back from Svolvær was late getting in - not something that would happen back home!

Just one thing I felt was missing, which was a bedside table and lamp in the bedroom, but other than that this place is perfect.

Kitchen equipment could be a little more consistent, There was no sieve-drainer, no pan lids which makes cooking a little complicated And in the bedrooms little table with bedsidelamp would be nice

Note that the living room windows have no window covering. It was not an issue for us even with 24 hour light and the area is very private.

All wonderful & perfect location. Well equipped and beautifully designed and furnished. Loved the decking and so quiet. Brilliant hikes so nearby . Really made our trip to Lofoten and would highly recommend . Would recommend The Bacalou (fish stew) at Joker store. It is stunning is home made at local Fish shop .

The modern fisherman cabin was very comfortable situated on the waterfront in Ballstad. We enjoyed the fact that everything was new and clean and its location allowed us to travel fairly short distances to all the areas of Lofoten without moving house.

The best accommodation on our trip to Lofoten! Beautiful location, amazing panoramic windows with a view over Ballstad, incredibly clean (so that you understand - the keys were sterilized upon our arrival) and very comfortable till every single detail. The kitchen had all the needed utilities but also everything is new and of good quality. The communication was also very friendly and every single issue (we forgot something) was figured out quickly. I wish we stayed here longer!

Definitely would recommend adding closets/wardrobes in the rooms, given there's no storage to empty your luggage if you're staying for a week.

Food scraps often got stuck in the sink, so it was inconvenient to have to take them out often.

The apartment is located close to the sea. The funiture and bathroom equipment in it is great, you can enjoy.

There are four apartments in this building, it is little hard to find the key box. I spent several minutes to get the key. Recommend more clear instruction for the key box.

Nothing bad to say about the apartment. It was absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect as we were doing a road trip across the Lofoten Islands. The flat is spacious and has everything you might need. The view was incredible. Check-in and check-out was easy thanks to Lars.

The apartment is very cozy, nicely decorated and clean. Extremely comfortable living room with a beautiful view. Well-equipped kitchen, excellent shower in the bathroom. A very kind and friendly host. He gave us some useful instructions and tips.

We liked the stay at this place very much! There is all that you need in the apartment. Implacably clean, stylish and new. The view from the panoramic windows is amazing. The owner is very accommodating and at your disposal. Would like to come back for longer!)

Very high-level and beautiful place, with nice views. It was easy to come to the accommodation with clear instructions from the owner. Also very quiet place, which we like. All the utensils in the kitchen were brand new, so it was nice to cook food there. Would definately come again! Great place to do daytrips to Haukland, Uttakleiv, Offersøykammen hike. Also grocery stores not so far away.

Very hot and thick blankets at bedroom, would be nice to have thinner at summer (or placing thinner blankets as an option), would also be nice to have curtains/blinders at living room for privacy and if the sun is shining in low level.
