At this cost, it is a good property to stay for a night. The rooms are maintained in a clean condition. The owners are accommodative. The property is in the vicinity to the Mahabodhi temple within walking distance.

AC was Working brilliant and Room was neat & clean with excellent behaviour of Owner Sumit. Walking distance from Mahabodhi Temple like almost 5 minutes.

Had a really comfortable stay at Nilam Guest House during the summer. The rooms were clean, peaceful, and properly maintained, which made the stay relaxing even in the hot weather. Ac was also superb !! The staff was polite and helpful throughout. Overall, a nice and budget-friendly place to stay with family or friends.

FEELS LIKE HOME !! The best thing about Nilam Guest House is the way they treat guests like family and guide you so warmly throughout the stay. By the time you leave, it honestly feels like you are leaving your own family behind.

The property is very well maintained and clean at peaceful location which is still close proximity to main temple and centre of Bodh Gaya. There is AC - essential for summer heat. Beds were very comfortable. Family is extremely warm and kind and Sumit is beyond helpful - there for you any minute a day, taking care of your overall stay not only in house but helps with any advice or need, money exchange or taking you on a tour with his bike, helping organize transports and so on - beyond helpful! I am a single female traveler and I felt very safe and taken care of.

I was there at low season and there was no kitchen available - they offer food when there is season. However first restaurant is just few minutes away so I was not bothered. Also when I got sick they cooked rice and teas for me so overall it was not a downfall.

I had a really nice stay at Nilam Guest House for 5 days during this peak summer. Honestly it was more comfortable than I expected. I used to go out in early morning and evening to avoid the heat and after visiting Mahabodhi Temple I would come back by around 10:30 am after breakfast. The guest house is just 5 minutes walking distance from the temple which is very convenient. One thing I really liked was the AC. Even when outside temperature was around 42°C the AC was working perfectly. Within 10 minutes the room used to become properly cool and comfortable. After coming back from so much heat it really felt relaxing. Also AC was clean and well maintained which you don’t always see everywhere. Another good part is the greenery. Front and back both sides have nice green gardens. In this hot weather it feels fresh especially in morning time. The environment is calm and peaceful which I liked a lot. Rooms were clean, service was regular and everything was maintained properly. Overall it’s a good and peaceful place to stay even in very hot weather. If you are planning to visit Bodh Gaya in summer then Nilam Guest House is definitely a very good option.

The air conditioning at Nilam Guest House is simply outstanding. It cools the room within just 7–8 minutes, giving a chilled feeling almost like the Himalayas. What impressed me the more is that the regular maintenance..... the AC units are very clean, both inside and outside, with no dust at all. In peak summer, if you want a properly cooled, chilled & comfortable room, U can completely rely on this place. I stayed here for 7 days and my stay was wonderful at Nilam Guest House. I had wonderful experience staying at Nilam Guest House. The place is comfortable, well-managed, and gives a very welcoming feeling from the moment you arrive at Nilam Guest House Bodhgaya. A special mention to Sumit Singh, who truly makes the stay even better for guests😊. He is extremely helpful, kind hearted by nature, and full of positive energy. Talking to him feels easy and reassuring. He is also very sharp-minded and good personality with a nature of always ready to guide guests with useful advice and tips.😊 One thing I really appreciated is how he makes guests aware of fraudsters and money scams. His guidance is practical and something every traveler should follow. It shows how much he genuinely cares about the safety and comfort of his guests. If you are planning to travel in this hot summer and want a cool, relaxing stay, just go for Nilam Guest House without overthinking. It will meet your expectations and even go beyond them. I have stayed in other guest houses in Bodhgaya during summer where the AC did not work properly, so don’t just go by low price or budget. I stayed in Nilam Guest House for 4 days and the experience was wonderful. The host and families are very warm welcoming and always stay ready to assist, said it from dinning suggestions, trip arrangements, to safety reminders for international travelers. The facilities are very clean and comfortable to use with good ventilation that made the stay very cozy and pleasant. The tiny gardens in the front and backyard also the whole guest house very lovely and soothing.

Nilam Guest House is best place I stayed in Bodh Gaya! On printed price you will get mineral water and hot water for bathing in bathroom always...24 hours. Room very clean, neat and very peaceful. It's walkable like 4 to 5 minutes to Mahabodhi Temple...10 minutes to 80 Feet Sitting Buddha...and 5 to 6 minutes to Metta Buddha. What a garden at back side room which is rare to see in Indian big hotels! Air Conditioning(AC) works perfectly nice..within 10 minutes it made the room like it's winter !! New AC's was installed in most of the rooms which is very powerful which handled this heavy summer nicely !! Sumit helped me arranging taxi at the most cheapest price to Rajgir, Nalanda, airport, Gaya station & many places! He make everything easy. As much as I traveled in 10 years experience in Bodhgaya and other parts of India, this is the best guest house in whole India! I come twice a year in Bodhgaya and can tell it's the best and most peaceful in whole Bodhgaya...including hotels also. Family very nice, always welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend! 😊

Guest house was impeccably clean and beautiful, room simple and comfortable, bathroom and shower excellent (hot water a bonus :). Location is ideal; quiet and just far enough from main temple complex area to be quiet, but a very short and easy walk to temple and food, etc. Sumit and family were super friendly and warm, ready to help with any needs or issues or info about area, and made us feel very at home. I was sick for a day after arriving and stayed in resting the whole day and felt so peaceful and tranquil there even when ill. They also have a lovely, sunny roof with clothes lines so you can wash your own clothes and hang them, as well as a sweet back garden. Would highly recommend.

Staying here felt like being with family—his parents were so kind and welcoming. We’ve never experienced such a high standard of care. A definite 5-star experience!

My stay at Nilam Guest House was very pleasant. The rooms are clean, the beds are soft and you can walk to Mahabodhi temple easily. Sumit and his family are very kind! I was having trouble booking my bus to leave and Sumit coordinated the entire pickup with the bus service since I do not have an Indian phone number. He made sure I got on the bus and offered help beyond my Bodhgaya travels. I highly suggest staying here when you visit Bodhgaya!

Le rapport qualité prix du logement est impeccable. Bien situé dans Bodhgaya, tout est accessible facilement à pied. Le personnel est très accueillant, même lorsqu'il s'agit d'un check in tardif à cause d'un train en retard. De bons conseils aussi pour les visites. Je recommande 😀

This is my fourth visit to Bodhgaya in the last 30 years. Nilam Guest House is a place of cleanliness, kindness, and security. Set slightly back from the road, the guest house is more peaceful than others in the area. It is within walking distance for the Mahabodhi Temple, restaurants, and chai stalls. Just outside the guest house is a small but very active local Hindu Temple that is a place of devotion and tranquillity. Sumits mother kindly makes lovely chai with biscuits. I booked for one night and stayed for two months. I will also return early next year.

Had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at this guest house. The rooms were clean, staff was polite, and the overall environment was peaceful. Great value for money and perfect for a short family trip. Would definitely recommend!

The young manager, Smith, was excellent. He helped me to continue my trip by finding me an ATM machine that worked and so I could access my money when in other I couldn't do this. The room was spotless and Sumit assisted me with ordering food.

My stay in this guesthouse was very comfortable. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Guesthouse is in walking distance from Mahabodhi temple, tuk-tuks also available. Room was clean and had two beds, a table, a chair and some shelves. There were two electric plugs. Bathroom was clean and everything was working properly including hot water. Bed was not too soft what I prefer and bedding was clean enough. Good value for money considering prices going up in Bodhgaya.

Location is close enough to everything: shops, restaurants and temples and its pretty peaceful. First time in a guest house, location is amazing, summit and his family nice people who are interested in their guest needs. What you see in photos is what you get. I would come back and I recommend this place.

The host and his lovely family made our stay in Bodh Gaya exceptional. They were super nice, caring and nothing was an issue. The room was clean, comfortable and we even had hot water, which is pretty rare in India. They also had a spacious rooftop where you can practice yoga like we did. And his family's chai was amazing! Can't recommend this place enough

The place was clean and near the main attractions . The host was very good and responsive. Only thing to keep in mind if you go during summer or during warm weather go for the AC room only , without AC it is not recommended as it gets very humid .

The guest house is perfectly located, near enough Maha Bodhi temple and yet in a quiet area. Sumit was a very professional and caring host. He helped me arrange holy sites tours and even took me himself to Mahakal Cave with his bike. He also arranged laundry service. Absolutely recommend this guest house for Bodh Gaya visit.

We arrived at the place at late night, we had booked a room with outside bathroom but he prepared another one instead because he assumed that we had made a mistake, and because of that he also canceled the booking without us knowing, then he convinced us to take the more expensive room because it was only 200 rupees more, and we accepted, at the end we stayed for 4 nights, 3 of them really uncomfortable because of the heat and the mosquitoes, but you get what you pay right? That was our thought, just that we ended up staying long time in Bodhgaya and guess what? They charge basically double the price of the average for Bodhgaya and the guy even had the nerve to suggest that we where lucky because in high season he charges 4.000 rupees for a non AC room which clearly doesn’t worth it, I am making an honest review because I don’t want low budget Travellers or long term ones to get scammed, yes you may threat host in a good way and be helpful (which is the minimum you spect from a place), but not because of that you should charge double of the fair price. Imagine our surprise when we asked in around 6 more guests houses and we realized that by that price we could have gotten an AC room double big and with balcony. Most of the Travellers come for short periods of time to India so they don’t really bother to compare or just don’t care about what they pay, maybe also assume that as foreigners we should be scammed, but I am making an honest review because I don’t see any single complaint around here and it is needed. There are honest guest houses around Bodhgaya and you should support such businesses. By the price we were charged is unbelievable that we didn’t even got a towel or a blanket. Is just an honest review

Being in search of a guest house for my family to stay for a week in Bodhgaya, we had booked in nilam guest house. Beginning from the confirmation of the booking, airport pickup, general arrangements for a smooth stay and upto dropping us back to airport, they stood besides us to have a smooth travel in an unknown place. Cheers to Nilam Guest house and we are sure it's going to be our permanent Guest house we would stay at whenever we visit Bodhgaya.

Probably our best stay in all of India! We arrived in Gaya on the train after 3am. Sumit the owner waited for us to arrive and helped us navigate with our tuk tuk driver from the station. The location is walking distance to restaurants and temples. Room was.perfectly clean, and the AC was great! I would recommend for single travelers or couples. This was a really friendly little homestay and excellent value for money. It's only a few minutes walk from various places to eat, and about 10-15 mins walk from the temples around town.

Only the weather (it rained), but that's not the fault of the homestay :)

Very polite, friendly and helpful management/family. Were kind enough to check if we had reached the station on time for our journey further even after we had checked out. Lovely people.

Resturant is not attached. Hence you have to manage breakfast. Location is slight inside but 10 minute walking distance from Mahabodhi.

Family run little place, located centrally yet away from the main hustle and bustle. Sumit and his father will not disappoint you in any way. They did everything in their power to make us comfortable.

It's not what we didn't like. It was summer and the temperatures were soaring, so our room remained hot throughout the two days we were there. However due to the extra fan provided to us free of cost, things got a bit better. We'll definitely be back in winter at some point.

The guesthouse is very close to the Kalachakra Ground, a local Tibetan Market and some popular eateries, and not too far from the Mahabodhi Temple. It is also a safe place to stay.

We felt it was overpriced. We paid around 3200 rupees per night, and since our room had very basic amenities, this price was not value for money, even considering the fact it was high season in Bodhgaya (December-January). We stayed in Bodhgaya during high season before in other accommodations, so we can compare. Moreover, at arrival our room appeared to be double-booked, and as a consequence the owners first tried to shift us into an inferior room that did not correspond to the description provided on Booking.com.

This is a peaceful, very clean and budget stay in Bodhgaya near to all important destinations. Run by a very decent generous family this fits more in the category of Home Stay. Situated on the main road but almost away from the road itself surrounded by green trees and spacious front the rooms are very neat and clean. A few things must be added to the rooms- like a mirror in the room, a centre table or a side table and some electric sockets. Breakfast and Meals may also be served to make it more comfortable. But this is a very very good budget stay even for prolong stays in Bodhgaya.
