The property is in a stunning mountainous area of Port Antonio. Staff were attentive, however, a bit too relaxed at times which is in the Jamaican culture in my opinion. Decent sized rooms and good food. Fresh towels every day

The garden rooms are dated and have no fridge, tea/coffee making facilities or aircon. On arrival to the room, there were either big ants or cockroaches on the floor. Although I was only there for 5 nights, the bed sheets only got changed, the day before I left

I have stayed at the property before under previous ownership, and so was curious to see if LF would live up to the previous owners; They surpassed it in every way. As a local who travels around the island a lot for pleasure, as well as work, excellent customer service and in house dining are very important factors for me: The customer service experience by EVERY member of staff I encountered during my stay was amazing, warm and friendly without performance- this is not often the local experience. All my meals were fantastic. MOST OF ALL- The new proprietors are once more revealing the beauty of the grounds, long hidden by overgrowth- opening up enchanting pathways. If you desire absolute peace- I recommend you stay here.

A mini coffee maker would have been the icing on the cake for me who rises SUPER early, but again- the staff come earlier than breakfast time and are SO accommodating- and made me hot cup as soon as I showed up.

Our stay was a quiet, rustic, and refreshing eco-friendly experience. I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to give direct feedback to the manager while also enjoying light conversations. It added a warm and personal touch to the visit

The rooms were dated, the food was terrible and overpriced, our rooms did not have A/C. The service was poor, nobody at the reception desk most of the time, no introduction to the hotel & showing around. Just overall lack of attention to detail. The rooms have open slat windows so the sound is very loud. Lots of cats screaming outside the rooms and you can hear the next room as though they were inside yours.

Nice, quiet location in the hills of Portland... lush greenery everywhere. Visited with spouse and friends, so real nice vibe!! Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond. The food was absolutely amazing - top notch! Javaughn handled his business when making our special drinks 😀 and the manager Simone was such a star - awesome personality. Thanks so much to the LF Jungle team for making this a memorable trip!

Overall the facilities were pretty good, however, some areas in the bedroom villa could do with some updates.

The roads up the hill heading towards the property was abismal, be careful.

No hot water in showers. Booking said there was a fitness centre and wellness centre which when we asked where they were we were told they didn’t exist! And given no apology or explanation as to why they were advertised. Food was nice enough but very expensive.

Friendly staff, nice room and the grounds are really nice. Especially the rooftop bar area & swimming pool

A few minor details were missed out such as the shower curtain could have been replaced in the bathroom along with the mirror. Just needed sprucing up a bit

The property itself is stunning and fairly central. It’s a great concept with a lot of potential

All rooms do not have A/C and the ones that do, they weren’t completely installed. We weren’t advised of this until check in. All rooms did not have a tv, again we weren’t advised until check in. We weren’t advised of the condition of the road to get to the property. One room only had 2 reading lights for the whole room. There are a lot of cats that bother you for food and sit in the shared lounge areas. Half of the menu was not available.

The road up the hill was a bit bumpy but it’s the general road conditions in the rural areas of Jamaica so can’t really complain.

The natural surrounding was awesome. Stray cats all around, join you for a visit.

Several listed room features were not fulfilled: AC (not connected), gym (not existing)... When pointed out, the answer was, that they will check with management to resolve it, still waiting on an answer.... Rooms were quite noisy during night. As there is no glas in windows you hear everything from the jungle, plus people talking outside when returning late night. The service in the restaurant was slow, eventhough not many guests present. On the last evening, we were told that the restaurant was closed.

Breakfast was disappointing, the coffee was cold, no plant base milk and also an extra charge for the coffee

No hot water in the room, no ac and the wifi was not good. Would have to go outside to make a call or send a message.

I would push for a more pro active staff… dragged my heavy bags across a rock driveway almost all the way to room before being asked if I needed help. Bartender was late and early staff not really versed on drink making But love the location

The location is amazing, the views from the terrace are next level and the facilities are great

The dinner menu was mostly pasta. Would have been nice to have Jamaican food! Also not very baby-proof at all especially on the terraces, seems a shame as it would be very easy to make it safer

This is regarding our stay (Aug 5 - Aug 11, 2025). We paid US$805.62 for 6 nights and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing: No air conditioning in the first room, making it extremely uncomfortable. We requested a refund but were moved to another room, which was worse due to bugs all night from having to keep windows open. After asking again to leave and be refunded, we were offered an A/C unit, but when installed it did not work. We also planned a spa day, but were told services were only in-room and had to be prearranged, which was not communicated in advance. Instead of a refund, it was suggested that our rooms would be saved for a future stay. It has now been nearly a month and we have not received anything in writing confirming this. At this point, we are requesting a full refund of US$805.62, as the stay did not meet reasonable expectations for the price paid. Please confirm when this refund will be processed. Thank you,

Misleading with no air conditioning

Nice property. The breakfast menu needs some work and i still could not understand no fried plantain being available. Its Portland, plantain capital and there was no shortage.

Amazing STAFFF

The nature surrounding the retreat is breathtaking and they have a wonderful sight seeing tower, however staff is not very friendly, food is overpriced at the restaurant and they have the worst road from the main road to the resort.

The property has so many safety issues and when I spoke to one of the owners Raul he was very dismissive and unprofessional. No working lights or plugs on the wall also no AC

This is an excellent property but all it needs are air conditioning rooms.food , service and location are great

LF jungle retreat is a nice quiet, secluded very well maintained property with lots of fresh fruits and fruit, fruits, and vegetation. The sea view from the second story bar overlooking Port Antonio is spectacular!

Cute little spot in the jungle near all the best bits of Port Antonio. Steep 5 minute drive up the hill, you might spot some fireflies on the way if you're lucky. Great service with a particular shout out to Trudy at breakfast whose smile and fun nature made every morning a treat. In the midst of an upgrade and some design choices might not be to my taste but it's incredibly good value for money and that panoramic view from the bar is unforgettable!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the LF Jungle Retreat, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The Good: View from the Suite: The view from my room was truly lovely, offering a serene and natural setting that was perfect for relaxation. Cleanliness and Comfort: The room itself was clean and well-maintained, with a great big bed that was very comfortable. This made for a good night's sleep. Family Time: I used the retreat primarily as a base to spend quality time with my family, and it served this purpose well. The Not-So-Good: No Hot Water: Unfortunately, there was no hot water available during my stay, which meant I had to shower in cold water. This was a significant inconvenience. Dining Experience: I had the opportunity to enjoy one evening meal during my stay, but it was disappointing. The menu lacked traditional Jamaican options such as rice and peas, curry goat, or jerk chicken. Instead, it was a simple chicken and pasta dish that didn't reflect the local cuisine. Be warned breakfast and evening meal not included in the price you pay on your card when you check in. Overall, while the LF Jungle Retreat offers some great amenities and a beautiful setting, there are areas that need improvement, particularly in terms of basic comforts like hot water and more diverse dining options. With a few tweaks, this could be a truly wonderful place to stay.

Simone was simply the best! We loved everything about this getaway. Best to have transportation or have front desk get a taxi for you, the walk up from main road is quite a hike. Food was excellent, very impressed with the chefs selection of food. Will be back for sure
