Host came to take us and guide to the camp. We had a wonderful jeep trip in the sands. Also the camel ride was exeptional.

No better way to live the desert 😊 Amazing sunrise/sunset in a peacufully environnent.
Beautiful tented camp in a great location, just off the road but nestled in the dunes. Many other camps, however, were right on the road and decidedly less romantic. We reached it with our off-road vehicle, it is absolutely essential to have a 4x4, but it is not difficult to get there, the only problem is understanding which is the right road to take on the dunes. You need to take the steep road uphill on the left, a few hundred meters after the Sama Al Wasil camp. When you reach the top of the dunes, turn right and you've arrived. The welcome, dinner, and breakfast were all exceptional—excellent food and great courtesy. It's truly well-run. We took the dune bashing tour at sunrise with the camp owner, and it was really nice.

Pretty far in the desert, great. Information given before was helpful, bookings for camel ride (etc) was offered. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and fun. Campfire was the highlight of the trip for our teenage daughter. Tent was basic (as one can expect), but well equipped. Dinner was very tasty.
The 2-person bed was hard as a brick. The bathroom smelled nasty (might be expected for a place not connected to the sewer?, but still). Made it a 9 out of 10 instead of 10/10.
Ci siamo trovati molto bene, posto incantevole. L’esperienza è andata oltre le nostre aspettative.
Mr.Ali安排一切都很順利。
Posizione fantastica, personale super gentile e disponibile!
Tornaria sense dubtar-ho
We had a very nice stay. The staff is very friendly and nice. Good location and diner.
Amazing Desert Experience – Peaceful, Clean, and Unforgettable! I stayed at the desert camp for one night on my own, and it was truly one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. The camp itself was beautifully set up – very clean, peaceful, and with a truly magical atmosphere under the stars. What made the experience even more special was the amazing driver and guide, Ali. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. His passion for the desert and local culture really came through, and he made sure everything was perfect. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely – just completely relaxed and in awe of the stunning surroundings. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable desert experience! And the food was really nice too.
It was all just perfect
Secluded camp with a small number of tents. Bathrooms and tents are very comfortable. Feels very rustic. Hosts are kind, humble and very helpful. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent. Location is perfect among the dunes. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. Wildlife was everywhere
Only minor thing is the bed is firm. Might not be an issue for some sleepers
What we loved about the camp is that it is made by a few tents and it is on a dune. The place is quiet, clean and offers a great experience. Hilal and his brother are the most exquisite hosts we could ask for - caring and attentive.
I looked for things we didn’t like and I found none: everything was perfect!
The location was nice. It was far enough away from other camps so we didn't hear any noise, but there were a surprising number of people on the dunes overlooking the camp at sunset. We weren't disturbed at all by them, but it was strange. The camp hosts were very nice.
The facilities themselves didn't measure up to other desert camps I'd been to in Dubai and Morocco. The tent was spacious but the furniture provided was very "bare bones." The other camps had thoughtful decor and multiple electrical outlets, while this had one outlet that buzzed if anything was plugged in. There were no included activities at the camp. I think there was one sand board and a game of Uno. The buffet meals offered minimal options but was edible. There was also no after-dinner options where other camps had campfires and musicians. We had originally book 2 nights, but left early.
Very nice camp in the middle of the dessert The personel is very friendly.
Incredible family run business - Ahmed and Rashid welcomed us to their camp in their lush desert home, taught us about Bedouin life and made sure we had an unforgettable experience. Easy pick up, 4WD dune bashing tour at sunset (highly recommend), delicious buffet meals, comfortable tents. We wanted to sleep out under the stars and they immediately moved our bed outside for us. We learnt so much about their Bedouin way of life. Please stay here - these people and this place is truly special.
Very nice place, the staffs are friendly and very helpful
It was a lovely stay in the desert, highly recommend. The camp is well organised and the tent clean and spacious. Very good communication with the host, he quickly responded to our messages via whatsapp.

Incredible camp, isolated, not too big ! A magic night in the desert, thank you !
The camp was nicely located in the dunes, there were some other camps nearby, but not close enough to notice them without walking some distance. The facilities were amazing, tents were simple, yet well equipped and the little private bathrooms (including showers) were just perfect. Sunset camel ride was brilliant and definitely worth doing. Both the dinner and breakfast were well prepared with a large variety of food, we were very impressed by the quality and quantity of the dinner and breakfasts.
The bed/mattresses were very hard/firm, so was a bit tough to fall asleep.
Amazing and special accommodation, which you should try once in your life. Camp is quite far from the town and other camps and you need to drive a bit in the desert, which is exactly what we were looking for. It is really tranquil and silent. You can go up the dunes to see the sunset and sunrise. Breakfast and dinner were also very good and filling. Ali was a great host
The only thing that we didn't like was the bed, it was very hard. But the rest makes up for it
Everything !
Nothing !
great location, very good food, they offered us the dinner, one of the last camp before the real desert, it makes it more wild and private, the room was very clean
toilet outside the tent, arriving at night was quite complicate and very hard to spot on the map but the hotel team was very good to provide a solution
Very comfortable stay and amazing food! The tent was spacious and the private toilet/shower makes it super convenient. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Easy communications.
The location is perfect, breakfast and dinner very fine, this camp gives you the feeling to really visit the desert, while making sure that you have everything you need. Very clean tent, shower and toilet, excellent bed, all perfect. If one wants to experience desert in a very safe and still authentic way, do not book a chalet with pool, book a quality very large tent from a local person, Ali, who grow up himself, with his camels, in the desert, only 2 km away.
Ali good have done nothing better.
Great location up in the dunes. Host was waiting for us to drive ahead and we followed (4x4 required). When dinner ended, host started a camp fire. There are 9 tents and we were lucky to be the only guests that day. Host offers camel riding and dune bashing.
Spacious and simple tents with everything you might need for a night in the desert. There is a beautiful big dune closeby which is perfect to watch the sunset. Lovely staff and owner who took the time to sit with us by the fire and talk about Oman. Food was ok too!
Can't think of anything
Great quiet camp right by the dunes! Dune bashing and camel rides for sunset/sunrise can be booked. Great dinner and lunch! Thanks Ali!
Very nice place and nice people
The welcome was not so nice like in the other places in Oman we visited
I enjoyed a fantastic stay at Desert Stars Camp. The tents were very spacious and clean and the food was very good. Ali was a great and very kind host and made me feel very welcome. Also, the camp is easily accessible with a 4x4.
The staff were very helpful and polite. Food was delicious: was served dinner and breakfast and snacks was provided too. The rooms was really cute and was really nice having a functional bathroom while 'camping'. They set up a bonfire during the evenings too. Great value for money. Winter evenings got very cold !
Perfect location in the desert, away from other camps. Very nice staff. Great music after dinner. Good communication pre-arrival.
We visited early January and it would have been nice to have hot water in the shower, the cold water was too cold to have a shower (for us, at least). There also was a bit of miscommunication about being able to arrive in a 2WD SUV, I was told we could get to the camp with our car but it was impossible in the loose sand. We got stuck but Ali came to help us out (lowering tire pressure to 0.6 bar, and pushing 4 persons).
This is a small family run camp with simple facilities in an isolated area which was exactly what we were looking for. The tents were spacious, comfortable and attractively furnished with traditional carpets and all spotlessly clean. It was peaceful with no noise from other camps. The staff were all very welcoming and generous with their time. The sunset dune camel ride and dawn drive to view the sunrise were both magical. The team seemed to be very proud of their camp and were delighted to share it and their part of the desert with their guests. Ali was reliable at replying quickly to messages and met us punctually at the meeting place to guide us into the dunes. I would highly recommend a stay at this camp.
We liked everything.
Cute tents with a lot of space. Friendly owner.
The dessert camp was well organised, we have everything in there even hot waters shower!!!
Nothing!!!, all was perfect
great location in the middle of the desert, far from other camps. the size of the camp is perfect to have a feeling of being in the nature. the tents are simple but nice and the bathrooms are more than enough (to be in the desert). welcoming staff and good but simple typical food
rooms don't have chargers inside

Wonderful secluded desert camp where you can watch the sunset, sunrise, moon and milky way in peace. I saw my first ever sitting star here! The location is well away from other camps and it is very discreet. (On the drive in, you will see other camps very close to the road, don't book those) Dinner and breakfast were delicious and our fussy children found the food excellent. We took the additional options of a 4WD transfer in and a sunset camel ride. We count ourselves lucky to have the camp to ourselves for the night, as we booked a Monday evening. The camp manager is very attentive.
We had an amazing night here, the camp is further out than the others which gives it a private and exclusive feeling. One of the most beautiful sunsets ever, good buffet dinner & breakfast & fire at night with the stars above was a highlight! Bathrooms are clean, just a bit smelly, I guess that is not to be avoided in a place so secluded! Bed and tent were spacious and comfortable.
Food was simple and delicious; location was superb; facilities were great; beds were comfortable; camel ride up the sand dunes for sunset was exceptional. We had a really enjoyable time.
+ Amazing Host + We had the whole camp for ourselves (off-season) + Very nice tents within the dunes + omani Coffee and Dates at arrival + Camel Tour at sunset was amazing + the food was very good
Bells tents spaced out well enough. Peaceful. Great sunset views.
The landscape was beautiful. It’s a very authentic camp but still comfortable. Ali was a great guide, the people were all very courteous and attentive.
The staff are amazing - it was a hot night so they set up our beds outside and we slept under the stars - such an amazing experience.

Fantastic hosting and caring during the whole stay. A really good place for staying. Owner of the camp is really interested in the nature and connecting with people. We loved every single minute in this fantastic camp!
The location was beyond amazing! We could park our car at the village nearby and then our guide Ali brought us to the camp with a 20 min drive through the desert. This will cost an extra OMR 25, but that's totally worth it, especially if you don't have experienxe with driving through the desert or have a car that won't work in this landscape. On the camp location, you have the feeling you have the whole desert to yourself, which feels amazing! 🤩 We stayed in a tent for 3 persons and on the camp, you have in total 6 tents. We were lucky to be the only guests, so it felt like our private camp. Guide Ali stayed with us for diner and after diner, he made a nice campfire. Also host Rashid visited us to have a nice chat. Lovely people! 😊 Diner is with vegetables, rice, dahl, bread with dips and some meat (camel meat & chicken). For breakfast, there is bread, milk, cornflakes, vegetables and fruit.
Nothing, it was a truly unique experience!
The camp is in a great location on top of the dunes. The tents were spacious and comfortable and the host was very welcoming and helpful. communication prior to the trip was excellent. I would definitely recommend this to friends.
Beds were maybe a bit firm for our taste but that is a personal preference. Having stayed at a few camps in the desert i would say that the prices are a little steep for what is on offer but there are camps that are a lot more expensive and offer a similar experience. Happy overall and the price would not dissuade me from returning.
The View, situation, the warm welcome, tents the staff were. Brilliant and friendly.
Everything was great except how firm the mattress was. It was really hard
We had an amazing experience there. We were traveling in two families - 4 adults and 3 kids - and Desert Star Team did an amazing job to assure exceptional service during our stay in a truly authentic desert camping experience.
Great camp with very comfy beds Staff was so friendly and lovely, they are a great peoples ! Food tasty and very good, clean and comfortable. At the evening traditional dance and songs We loved it Thank You for this wonderful cultural experience with wonderful sundown and sunrise ☀️
Location was perfect! Piece and tranquility. I don’t remember when the last time i was in such a quite environment. The food was delicious and we enjoyed tea and dates very much. Children had a wonderful time while snowboarding on sand dunes. And the log fire in the evening was a perfect ending to our day in the desert!

We had some awesome days at the most beautiful camp in Omans desert. The location is in the middle of the dunes and this is really very special if you compare it to other camps. And also the size of the camp is perfect with 6 tents in it. The tents are nice, clean and very cozy and also the food absolutely delicious (especially the homemade cakes we got during the campfire evenings 😉). And to highlight: the greatest thing ever was the service we got from the host Rashid and his whole team! We really felt so comfortable and welcome during our stay. Thank you so much! Andy&Anne
Very friendly support for getting there and away, brilliant place, individual service, great atmosphere, authentic dinner and breakfast. Had a tent for 4 with the family and slept very well to wake for the sunrise in the silent desert.
Desert stars camp is a very calm and unique experience to disconnect from the everyday rush and to stand still to appreciate the desert and everything that Rashid and his people have put together on this beautiful location.
The beds were a bit hard and you sometimes hear 4wd’s at night.
